В целом было чисто и приемлемо.

Не понравилось местонахождение очень неудобно забираться в гору, особенно после дождя, очень скользко и грязно.

首先房間設備非常新，冷氣是我待斯里蘭卡兩周以來最涼的，且非常乾淨。 可以跟 Jeewan 討論看看，附近的海灘，他會推薦給你最好的位置。 到飯店之前會先一過一個上坡，但整體來說交通非常方便 （公車站），也有一個到 jungle beach 跟 japanese pagoda 的捷徑。 值得一提的是早餐種類非常豐富，非常好吃。

Kommunikation ist etwas umständlich, aber mit Hand und Fuß kan man sich verständluch machen.

Die Aussicht ist einfach grandios, aber zu jeder guten Aussicht gehört ein anstrengender Aufstieg, der allerdings nicht schlimm war. Morgens konnten wir Affen und Pfaue beobachten. Das Frühstück war super und die Familie wirklich ist toll. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sauber und gemütlich. Ein guter Wasserdruck war vorhanden und auch warmes Wasser. Ein Kühlschrank konnte mitgenutzt werden. Als kleiner Tip am Rande … das Restaurant Rampe ist auch nicht weit entfernt und hatte das beste Essen von unseren kompletten 4 Wochen Aufenthalt in Sri Lanka. Kulinarisch also auch versorgt.

I had a fantastic 5-night stay at Rock Side Inn! The place is peaceful, surrounded by lush nature, and creates such a relaxing atmosphere. Jeewn is a wonderful and attentive host who made sure everything was comfortable throughout my stay. Highly recommended if you are looking to unwind in Unawatuna!

Située en hauteur, au cœur de la jungle, un peu excentrée de la rue principale, la chambre est très spacieuse et possède une belle terrasse. Un lieu plein de quiétude... La salle de bain est récente, moderne et le tout était très propre. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et savoureux. Nous avons passé 3 nuits ici et je serais bien restée un peu plus... 😊 Je recommande totalement !

Large room, great AC & breakfast. Very comfortable & clean. Big balcony. Helpful host. Can walk 20mins to Jungle Beach via a cut through. Close walk away from the bus station to get to nearby cities.

The bathroom smelt a little musty after use. But there is an extractor fan & window in there so not sure what else they could do to reduce it. It’s also up a steep hill. Be mindful of that when carrying luggage.

I stayed at Rock Side Inn for 10 nights, and I truly loved my time here. The whole family is incredibly kind and helpful, they assisted me with everything I needed during my stay. On my last day they even helped arrange a driver for me, which was a huge help. The room is new, the bed is large and very comfortable, the air conditioning works perfectly, and the WiFi is strong. There is also reliable hot water and good water pressure. From the terrace you can enjoy the beautiful nature. I saw monkeys, squirrels, and many birds, which made the experience even more special. If you are staying in Unawatuna and looking for a peaceful, nature close accommodation, I highly recommend this place. The breakfast is delicious, and homemade. There is also access to the kitchen and bottled water is available. Thank you for everything!

Very quiet uphill, delicious breakfast, clean and large room

It's quite far from the beach, the short cut takes 15+ minutes and there's no fixed road and lighting.

Un paradiso in mezzo alla giungla, la struttura è perfetta in ogni cosa, camera pulitissima e soprattutto nuova, dotata di ogni servizio, sembra una camera di hotel, zero insetti e zero disservizi cosa spesso è probabile in altre zone, davvero oltre le aspettative. La famiglia marito, moglie e figli, ospitali e gentili in tutto, persone eccezionali, sono stata accolta meravigliosamente, il marito mi è venuto a prendere alla fermata del bus e mi ha dato tutti i consigli per gli spostamenti successivi e per le visite lì vicino, la moglie mi ha cucinato deliziosamente ogni cosa, provate almeno un pasto da loro perché davvero eccezionali, mi hanno anche offerto un assaggio della loro cena a seguito di un mio desiderio. Davvero il soggiorno migliore avuto in Sri Lanka, e ne ho girati di posti avendo avuto un mese a disposizione. Ho adorato tutto, la vista sulla fitta vegetazione, il suono degli uccelli e la visione degli animali al risveglio ogni mattina, colazione sul balcone di fronte la mia stanza. Io mi sono spostata sempre a piedi, per gli amanti delle passeggiate la posizione è comoda, a 10 minuti dalla strada principale con negozi, 20/30 da Unawatuna beach, e circa 20 minuti (30 per i più lenti) per raggiungere la paradisiaca jungle beach con una scorciatoia nella giungla. Insomma non sono solita fare recensioni, ma questo posto è stata la mia ultima splendida tappa nello Sri Lanka e non potevo chiedere guest house migliore di questa. Grazie davvero per tutto.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy some nature. A small/medium walk away from the beaches. Amazing breakfasts and staff where we felt like part of the house. Opportunities to cook our own food too which was great. The place was clean, comfortable and full of life with neighbouring monitor lizards, monkeys and birds.

Beautiful and clean room, spacious bathroom and very nice balcony surrounded by green. Breakfast was delicious, mattresses very comfortable and you could only hear birds at night. The owners were very friendly and hospitable - we’d definitely stay here again if we come back to Unawatuna.

This is my second time staying at the Rock Side Inn and it’s been wonderful both times! The hosts are so kind and welcoming and have made me feel right at home every time. Delicious home cooked meals made by Sujeewa and lovely talks with Jeewan. The room is extremely clean and comfortable, with AC, your own bathroom, and a little balcony out front. Away from the main road and very peaceful. It’s my go to place to stay when I travel through the area, and would 10/10 recommend.

Nothing, it exceeded my expectations

Отдых здесь превзошел все наши ожидания. Замечательное месторасположение, дом находится в джунглях, но не далеко от туристических локаций. В пяти минутах хотьбы магазины, не дорогие рестораны, остановка автобуса. В уютной комнате имеется большая кровать. Душ с горячей водой. Есть кухня со всем необходимым. Хороший интернет. Просторная веранда, на которой мы коротали вечера, порой засиживаясь до глубокой ночи, слушая загадочные звуки джунглей. Но самое главное - замечательные хозяева, которые окружали нас заботой и создавали все условия для хорошего отдыха. Нам готовили вкусные завтраки, несколько раз угощали праздничным ужином по случаю их семейного праздника. Кроме того, организовали недорогой трансфер из/в аэропорт. Мы прожили здесь две недели и если будем планировать новую поездку в Шри-Ланку, то обязательно выберем только этот гостевой дом.

Hier stimmte einfach alles, super nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber/ in, sehr gutes Frühstück und ein hervorragendes Abendessen, sehr schön und ruhig im Hang gelegene Unterkunft, 5 Min. bis zum Bushalt, 20 Min.bis zur schönen Jungle Beach (toller Weg bis zur Beach) Wir können die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen und würden auch wieder hier buchen. Il soggiorno è stato ottimo. I proprietari sono stati gentili e disponibili. L’alloggio era molto pulito. Se siete fortunati a colazione potreste anche vedere delle scimmie e scoiattoli. Mi raccomando di fare almeno un pasto da loro perché sia la colazione che la cena sono state fantastiche.

Un suggerimento per raggiungere l’eccellenza (ci siamo vicini!) è il rinnovamento degli asciugamani. Quelli presenti avevano un leggero odore di umidità e lasciavano qualche pelucco. Nulla che abbia rovinato il soggiorno!

Plaatselijke moskee die rond half 5 in de ochtend het gebed aankondigd. Hier kan Rock side inn helemaal niets aan doen, maar het beïnvloedde wel erg de nachtrust.

We really enjoyed our stay here- staff very friendly and a very nice breakfast was available each morning. The room was comfortable and the private terrace part was lovely in the morning and evenings. Good location, about a 15/20 minute walk to the beach, restaurants, shops etc

The guesthouse is located at the top of a steep hill which some Tuk Tuks were unable to get to the top of, but if you don't mind walking this then it's no problem!

Lovely place. Very kind and friendly staff, the most amazing breakfast served on your balcony. Shower was good, bed super comfy and a large quiet room with a private balcony. Really lovely place to stay. Felt really high up and in the trees so able to watch the wildlife passing through without disturbing it or being noticed. A truly wonderful experience

Just bear in mind its up a steep hill, so may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.

Peaceful location but a 25 minute walk from the main town up a busy road but you can get a tuk tuk if you don’t like walking and the owners will order you one on pick me if you don’t have it. Short walk to an ATM and supermarket Very close to a bus stop Room was clean and aircon worked well and was quiet. Bed was comfortable and had mosquito net. Big balcony. Could use kitchen if needed. Had a fridge. Lovely owners who were helpful and welcoming

Quite a distance from any beach but at least it got you away from the crowds

Good for short and long-term stays! Clean and spacious room, everything is in place, as well as a clean and well-equipped bathroom, clean and fresh towels and bed linens. Good air conditioning. Good closet with lock by key. Mostly, the room is equipped with everything you need. Amazing views around, jungles, a lot of birds, monkeys from time to time, chipmunks, peacocks, etc. Very relaxing atmosphere on the terrace. Very kind and helpful host and his family live on the ground floor. You can ask for anything (water, order a taxi, and so on) and they definitely will help you. We were not long before Christmas time and they decorated the Christmas tree for us. An amazing breakfast option is also presented. Well-equipped kitchen, refrigerator, etc. - literally you can cook anything you want on your own. Very good Wi-Fi, suitable for remote working without interruptions. In a 10-minute walk, there is a good supermarket - Cargills (fixed price) where you can buy mostly everything, fresh and cheap fruits. Everything else is accessible by tuk-tuk ride or walking along the road. The nearest good beach for surfing is Bonavista, very good conditions, especially for beginners.

Nothing, only points for improvement: - enrich and renovate the kitchen a little bit. - the knives were a bit dull. - in the room, it will be good to have a small table. - accommodation access instructions, better with additional photos, so it will be easier to find you on arrival.

Delicious breakfast, very kind hosts and great location, a short walk to the main road which takes you down to Unawatuna or up to Galle. Also just next to a nice walk through the forest to get to jungle beach and the peace pagoda. Beautiful nature all around the place, which gives it a very peaceful feel.

There was nothing to dislike; everything met expectations.

Very friendly and welcoming host family - made me feel at home. The home-cooked Sri Lankan meals - both breakfast and dinner - were delicious and filling. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, with good aircon and a small sofa. And a nice bonus to have a small kitchen too. Loved the peaceful location, on a small hill, surrounded by "jungle", but just a short walk/tuk-tuk ride to the beaches and restaurants/cafes. Most of all, enjoyed simply relaxing, working and eating on the large terrace, overlooking the forest canopy.

A lovely air-conditioned room with all amenities, including a kitchen for all yourself. It is peaceful and very reachable to Unawatuna and Galle. I loved taking the short cut path from this place to Jungle beach.

We have just stayed at Rock Side for 2 nights and we wish we were able to stay longer. The room is more like an apartment as you have a beautiful terrace area outside, with views into the jungle as well as a kitchen with a fridge and cooking facilities. The room is spacious with TV, AC, good wifi and a really nice bathroom with powerful shower. Tasty breakfast and motorbike rental also available at an affordable cost. We can’t thank the lovely family enough and would recommend to anyone!

Everything was perfect

This place is hidden in the jungle up hill. If you wanna relax without tourists around, that's the place to be. 30min walk to Jungle beach. The owners wife is a very kind person.

I would stay longer but I had to continue my trip.

The property is located 15 minutes walk from the main tourist area of Unawatuna. It's an amazing property right in the middle of the jungle. All around is green, monkeys and birds will greet you in the morning. At night it's very quite. The room is big and clean. Is provided with AC and mosquito net. The bathroom is provided with Italian Bidet, a luxury for this country, the shower with hot and cold water. The balcony is big! Next to the room there's a small kitchen and fridge that you can use anytime. Jeewan and his wife and their two children made us feel like at home. They'll do everything to make you feel comfortable. Real and nice genuine Family!! They offer a huge and delicious local breakfast for very small money!! The last day, they gave us breakfast for free as farewell!! They also have motorbike rental facility!! Would have loved to stay here for longer!!!

We were in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks, changed a lot of apartments and we can definitely say that this was the most cozy and homy place where we stayed during our trip. The apartment has a kitchen and large terrace with a jungle view, where you can see monkeys, birds and even lizards. The apartment is walking distance from Jungle beach, where you can meet monkeys and other animals while passing through. And of course the highlight of this stay was the sri lankan style breakfast every morning - very delicious and big portions. We did not get such great breakfast anywhere else. The owners were amazing, very nice and caring family, they also helped with a transfer from airport and every evening asked what we would like to eat at breakfast next morning. Staying at this place you will feel the coziness and friendliness of the lovely sri lankan people. Definitely recommend this place.

The location is a bit tiring to reach as it is located uphill

This place is so unique and the host family are the nicest people. They will help you arrange transport if you wish, they know a very friendly Tuk Tuk driver. Breakfast is delicious, the host will text you every evening to ask what you wish to eat and his wife will make the best food for you. The room is very clean, shower has very hot water and there is good working AC. The accomodation is on top of a steep hill - very quiet and peaceful. You will se a lot of monkeys and other animals. It is close to Jungle Beach and there is a short cut - so just ask the host for directions. There is also a super market nearby and you have a kitchen with a fridage next to your room. I highly recommend this place, especially because the host family is so kind and welcoming.

It was a really cool place to stay! It was a cozy room with your own balcony out in the jungle. In the evening we saw purple leaf faced monkeys which added to the whole jungle vibe! The owner and his family was also very nice, and they helped my friend that had to go to the hospital due to a foot injury

A little bit off from the beaches but not too far

Beautiful and cozy accommodation with nice hosts. The bar is on a small hill, but any Tuk Tuk can take you there 😁 Every morning you are greeted by monkeys jumping on the trees by the terrace🐒 However, you can hear prayers at night, so I recommend earplugs 🙏 And those breakfast? Awesome

Perfect stay with everything you could want. Location was amongst the bush with a great balcony to sit and admire the surroundings, and the room was great and clean. The host was wonderful and took great care of us. Amazing value for money, would highly recommend.

This wasn’t a dislike but just a note that it’s up quite a long path up through the bush. Of course that helps get you away from other houses and the host was very kind to come and meet us at the main road to take us up the path, so it wasn’t a negative at all!

wonderful apartment occupying the entire second floor, with a beautiful view of the jungle from a huge balcony. very clean apartment with modern renovation, with its own kitchen, large refrigerator and everything you need. every day you can enjoy the singing of birds, see monkeys and other animals. Within walking distance of several beaches, including those with surfing. a special mention should be made of a wonderful family that makes your stay as comfortable as possible by helping in every way. Definitely recommend this place for short and long stops! Thank you for your hospitality to Jeewan ,Sujeewa, Tomasha and Sahas! We will come back soon!

It was exactly how it was advertised and excellent value for money. The owner was friendly and helpful. Simply, everything was perfect.

Wonderful quiet place tucked away in the jungle and having a good location in the city. The owner is very responsive, any of my wishes were fulfilled very quickly. They can also prepare brackfast, lunch or dinner, tasty and inexpensive. Very quiet fan allowed to sleep without turning on the air conditioner. Very comfortable large orthopedic mattress. Have place for work on laptop (all day on open air). I recommend this place if you appreciate silence and good service. Glad I found this place:)
