El alojamiento muy bien, habitación muy amplia y cama cómoda. El propietario también, atento a todo. Nosotros también contratamos el safari con ellos, yo buscaría más opciones, para nosotros se nos quedó muy corto de tiempo y más para el precio que pagas... Es verdad que el conductor muy bien. Quizás también consultar por día completo...

No está en el centro centro (aunque no haya un centro como tal) pero para moverse en tuk tuk a un restaurante no hay problema

Puedes hacer self check in si no están en el momento de la llegada! Son muy amables y te ayudan con todo lo que pueden! Hemos pedido cenar ahí y nos prepararon una cena genial! Desayuno excelente también. Nos ha organizado también el safari y todo correcto!

Massive and clean, great value for money

Am besten war der Kochkurs, den wir bei der Herbergsmutter erhalten haben. Toll war auch die Begrüßung mit Getränke und Sprachkurs, sowie die Informationen für Sehenswürdigkeiten in der näheren Umgebung. Genial war auch, das wir bereits vorab die Safari nach unseren Bedürfnissen zusammenstellen konnten. Zum Abschluss gab es sogar noch ein Geschenk, Löffel mit der Gravur unserer Namen in Landessprache. Als wäre es nicht schon perfekt genug, haben sie uns auch noch unsere vergessenen Sachen in die nächste unterkunft per Post zugesendet. Wir waren vollkommen zufrieden.

Internet hat manchmal nicht funktioniert, aber darum wurde sich immer gleich gekümmert.

Les habitacions estven super netes i els llits eren molt còmodes. Però sense dubte el millor de l’allotjament és l’amabilitat dels propietaris. Ens van rebre amb el sopar preparat (i deliciós) i ens van ajudar a organitzar la nostra estada. Hi tornaríem sense dubtar.

Die Gastfreundschaft der Familie war großartig. Sie haben sich um alles gekümmert. Wir konnten hier abends sehr leckeres, traditionelles Curry essen und auch eine tolle Safari machen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und modern mit einem sehr großen Bett und Moskitonetz eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich hier wie Zuhause.

Fuimos 5 amigos y nos quedamos con ganas de pasar más tiempo con Uchith, Iresha y su encantadora familia. Nos recibieron con un zumo natural riquisimo y desde el primer momento fueron super acogedores. Las habitaciones están muy limpias y son muy espaciosas. Además, nos prepararon una cena muy buena con alimentos cultivados en su jardín y nos organizaron el safari para Yala. Uchith se quedo hablando con nosotros durante la tarde-noche de conversaciones que guardaremos para siempre en nuestro corazon ❤️ Sin duda recomendaría pasar mas de un día con ellos para ver la zona y conocerla desde sus ojos. Nosotros nos quedamos con ganas de mas, estamos deseando volver!!

We stayed here mainly because we wanted to visit Yala National Park, and it turned out to be a great choice. The house is very well maintained, clean and feels quite new. The owner, his wife and their children were extremely kind and welcoming. They really made an effort to make our stay pleasant – they spent time with us in the evening, offered and prepared delicious meals and were always happy to help. If we wanted an additional meal, they gladly arranged it for us, and they also organized a safari to the national park. The room was very spacious, very clean and comfortable. The owner was attentive and always responded to all our requests. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Yala National Park. It is a wonderful and very welcoming place to stay.

Wir hatten eine schöne und saubere Wohnung mit zwei lieben Hunden. Der Betreiber lieferte viele Informationen zu seinen Safaris, aber WLAN Kennwort und Frühstückszeiten mussten wir erfragen. Wir empfehlen den Strand Kirinda, wo wir Schildkröten gesehen haben.

...die hochpreisige Safari war für uns eine Enttäuschung. Das Frühstück an dem Tag (hier mitgebucht) war schlecht und der Fahrer nicht aufmerksam. Bei Bezahlung der Wohnung (und Safari) über Kreditkarte werden 3% Gebühr berechnet.

Zeer netjes en zo goed als nieuw allemaal. Ook de eigenaren waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Es war unsere schönste und persönlichste Unterkunft in 3 Wochen Sri Lanka. Vielen Dank dafür. Es ist echt wie beschrieben und auch in den anderen Bewertungen gesagt: Eine top gepflegte sehr familiäre Unterkunft. Wir hatten sogar den Luxus im ganz neuen Zimmer, das es erst seit Dezember 2025 gibt, wohnen zu dürfen. Das schönste Zimmer, das man sich in dieser Preisklasse vorstellen kann. Tip top. Wir haben auch das Essen genossen. Die Gastgeberin hat für uns am Mittag und Abend (auf Wunsch) gekocht, klassisch Sri Lanka und sehr gut passend für den europäischen Gaumen. Das hervorragende Englisch der Gastgeber hat uns - z.B. auch beim Abendessen - viele Einblicke über das Leben auf Sri Lanka und die jüngste Geschichte gegeben. Das hat den gesamten Aufenthalt sehr gut eingeordnet. Die Safari haben sie auch für uns organisiert, nur musste sich der Gastgeber leider kurzfristig von einem Freund vertreten lassen. Wenn wir wieder kommen, dann hier her und dann erfahren wir gerne mehr über das Land, die Leute, die Tiere und all das Drumherum.

The best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! Iresha, Uchith and their children were so welcoming, and really made an effort to get to know us and give us information about the local area and Sri Lanka. The curry they made us for dinner was so tasty and the safari was brilliant. The room was big with a massive comfy bed and a huge new and clean bathroom. They also have the cutest two dogs who are so playful and happy. Overall highly recommend to stay here for anyone coming to this area.

Je ne peux que vous recommander d'y séjourner si vous passez par Yala. Vous serez accueilli par une adorable famille, au grand coeur et aux petits soins avec vous. Les chambres sont confortables et spacieuses. La nourriture est délicieuse et préparée maison avec amour. Vous ne réservez pas seulement une nuit dans un hôtel confortable mais une expérience mémorable avec une famille srilankaise attentionnée et ravie d'échanger avec vous. Foncez-y les yeux fermés. Ils organisent également des safaris et des excursions dans la ville et ses alentours.

Tesiste iki farklı oda talebimiz oldu. Odalar temiz ve kullanışlı, odalardan bir tanesi yeni revizyon yapılmış. Yüksek tavanlı ferah ve geniş. Yataklar çok büyük. Odalardan birinde klima ve tavan pervanesi mevcuttu. İşletme sahibi bize Yala Milli Parkında 7 saatlik genişletilimiş bir safari programını (1 litre su, kahvaltı paketi ve milli park girişleri ait) 22500 LKR ücret karşılığı ayarladı. İlgi alaka ve tesisten ayrılırken ki hediyeleri için teşekkürler.

Rezervasyon yaptığımız ikinci oda da klima yada havalandırma olmasını beklerdik. Odalarda küçük bir su ısıtıcı ve küçük birer fincan bulunması kalan misafirlerin küçük çaplı çay/kahve ihtiyaçlarına çözüm olabilir.

Der Empfang von der Familie war sehr sehr herzlich und schön. Wir wurden mit einem Kuchen, einem Getränk und mit blauen Wasserlilien empfangen. Die beiden Kinder waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben uns beim Tragen des Gepäcks geholfen. Wir hatten das große Glück, der Erste in einem neu erbauten Zimmer zu übernachten. Dies wurde durch uns in einer kleinen Zeremonie eingeweiht. So eine tolle und herzliche Familie! Das neue Zimmer ist sehr modern mit Fliesen und einem riesigen Bett. Es gibt sehr viel Platz zum Ablegen und ein tolles Badezimmer. Die organisierte Safarie Tour war auch super! Zum Abschluss haben wir noch ein Abschiedsgeschenk erhalten. Alles in allem kann ich dieses Gästehaus und die Familie uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Wir wurden mit offenen Armen begrüsst und unsere Wünsche wurden uns erfüllt. Frühstück und Abendessen waren immer herausragend. Unser Sohn hatte so viel Spass mit den beiden Jungs, dass wir noch eine Nacht länger blieben. Uchith und seine Familie sind absolute Herzensmenschen.

Es wird noch ein neues Appartment gebaut, daher gab es eine Baustelle, die uns aber nicht weiter störte. Ganz im Gegenteil, unser Sohn durfte sogar fleissig mithelfen. Das Apartement soll noch im Dezember fertiggestellt werden.

The hosts were very warm and welcoming, and they greeted us with complimentary drinks. Our room was spotless, and the garden ambiance was lovely. Both breakfast and dinner beautifully represented Sri Lankan culture—easily the best we had during our trip. The lady of the house explained their culture while serving a variety of homemade dishes at dinner. We also went on safari through their arrangements, and they even surprised us with a cultural gift. We were truly impressed by their kindness and generosity as hosts.

Solo estuve una noche en Kottamba Yala Stay & Safari y fue suficiente para confirmar que fue una excelente elección!! Si bien en la casa estaban haciendo algunas remodelaciones, eso no se notó para nada en mi estadía. La habitación que me tocó era muy amplia, cómoda, súper limpia y muy bien equipada... en un entorno natural muy bello... con un muy lindo parque y muy lindos espacios al aire libre donde te sirven los desayunos y las cenas... la verdad que todo muy bien!!! Los anfitriones son una familia joven, muy serviciales, amables y muy atentos a los detalles que te hacen sentir como si estuvieses en tu casa. El desayuno estuvo muy bien... surtido, fresco y abundante!!! Pero la cena superó mis expectativas... cenamos con un amigo argentino y honestamente nos sorprendieron, no solo por la calidad y sabor de la comida sino porque muchos de los productos que utilizaron son del propio jardín, o del jardín de la madre de uno de ellos y se nota que le ponen mucho amor a lo que hacen. Pero lo que más me sorprendió fue el detalle que tuvieron conmigo en el check out... realmente increíble!!! además por supuesto de la calidez de sus anfitriones!!! Excelente relación precio calidad y un gran lugar para estar en Tissamaharama!!! Súper recomendable!!!

Spędziliśmy tu 2 noce.Nasze pokoje położone były w tylnej części domu. Przestronne i komfortowe z dużymi łazienkami. Pięknie zaaranżowany taras zachęcał do siedzenia na zewnątrz. Gospodarze zorganizowali dla nas całodzienne safari w parku Yala, a także przygotowali pyszne śniadania i kolacje. Serdeczni i pomocni. Czuliśmy się zaopiekowani cały czas.

Do Kottamba Yala Stay & Safari przyjechałem z żoną i córkami, od samego początku czuliśmy się tam jak u dobrych znajomych. Jeszcze przed przyjazdem gospodarze zapytali, czy jesteśmy głodni, i przygotowali dla nas pyszny obiad ze składników pochodzących z ich własnego ogrodu. Atmosfera była niezwykle rodzinna – gospodarze mają dzieci i dwa przyjazne pieski, które dodatkowo umilały pobyt. Spędziliśmy tam niestety tylko jedną noc, ale gospodarz powiedział nam, że następnym razem mamy przyjechać na dłużej, bo ma nam do pokazania wiele ciekawych miejsc. Na koniec zrobił nam niespodziankę - wręczył mam piękny prezent, co było niezwykle miłym gestem. Gospodarze zorganizowali nam także safari – widzieliśmy sporo dzikich zwierząt, choć lamparta niestety n ie udało się spotkać. Na penwo było to ciekawe doświadczenie. To cudowni, gościnni ludzie, dzięki którym pobyt był pełen ciepła i pozytywnej energii. Jeśli tylko będziemy mieć okazję, z przyjemnością wrócimy do Kottamba Yala Stay & Safari na dłużej.

Ben je op zoek naar een ideale uitvalsbasis om het Yala National Park te bezoeken, dan is deze Homestay een ideale plek! Uchith en zijn gezin verwelkomden ons met open armen, zorgden voor lekker eten en regelden met Nishan de beste safarigids die je kunt wensen. De kamers zijn ruim genoeg en zijn voorzien van 2 dubbele bedden die tegen elkaar geschoven zijn. Heel veel slaappek, dus ook ideaal voor gezinnen tot 4 personen.

We really enjoyed staying with Uchith and his family! They are really friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable, with AC and a fan. The bed is huge too! There is a nice hammock and chair outside, though we didn't use it much. We did two full-day safaris at Yala, and got to see a lot of beautiful wildlife!

Very welcoming family. Uchith, his wife, 2 kids and even their 2 dogs (Blacky and Lucky) were extremely friendly. They treated us like one of their own. It’s in the outskirts of town, which is private and quiet; yet only a short tuk tuk ride into town. The room is spacious with comfortable amenities. We had dinner at their home one night - cooked expertly by Uchith’s wife. Uchith sat with us and had a deep and meaningful conversation about their culture, way of life, history and the state of current affairs in Sri Lanka. He is extremely knowledgeable. He works very hard to please his guests. The breakfast was also amazing. They gave us a breakfast pack for the morning that we were doing the safari and a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast of hoppers, coconut rolls and vada the next morning. All the ingredients were from their own garden (coconut, banana, jackfruit etc). We even had Buffalo Milk Curd for dessert (a specialty). Uchith gave us a parting individualised souvenir as well. This was out best homesta in Sri Lanka by far! Would highly recommend Uchith’s place to prospective guests. Thank you for a wonderful homely stay.

This was honestly the best stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The owner and his family really made sure we had the best time. It felt like we were family. The rooms are spacious, clean and has AC. We had dinner twice and it was so so good. Also, the safari we booked with them was everything we hoped for. They really listened to our wishes. Again, we cannot recomment this place enough! We will definitly come back here.

Kind, fun, amazing hosts

Stayed for 1 night and they arranged a safari for the next day. When we arrived the room was ready for us. They asked if we wanted food for dinner which we did and it was amazing. All the dishes were delicious. Iresha and Uchith made us feel at home and even talked with us for a while telling us stories about Sri Lanka and the local area. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back when we come to Sri Lanka again!

We chose the place because it was close to the entrance to Yala National Park. The accommodation met all our expectations. Great value for money. We arrived in the evening and were leaving early. The accommodation is in a quiet area.

There are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the area. I recommend taking repellents.

The most welcoming house owner that I've met ever! I was given with wonderful excursion around Tissamaharama and its nature and culture landmarks. House holder also booked the Yala safari tour for a greate price. The room has everything you need (fan and air conditioner both). Also Leisure Villa provide extra services like laundry and etc. I have only warm memories left, thank you! 100/10

An ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of larger cities and set off on a safari in Yala Park. The hosts are a wonderful couple who made me feel happy and safe. They organized a fantastic safari in Yala, where I saw many elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, jackals, monkeys, as well as lizards and birds. Additionally, I enjoyed the best Rice & Curry and Sri Lankan Curd I had in all of Sri Lanka. They also have two lovely sons who taught me how to play cricket, and two adorable dogs I played with for hours. Facts: *very clean *hot water in the shower *quiet and peaceful *calming sounds of the jungle behind the house *a relaxation area outside the room with a hammock, tables, and comfortable chairs *the best food in Sri Lanka *the perfect base for trips to Yala Safari A safe place for solo female travelers as well as families with children. I will definitely return for a longer stay.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a smile and such an inviting and comfortable energy. Uchith and his wife go above and beyond for their guests, making them feel like they are at home, which is nice for long-term travellers. - The room was clean, very spacious with a large bed, nice sheets and a mosquito net. The hot water was also a real plus as well as the AC. - Outside Communal area was very tranquil- surrounded by trees and different forms of seating, which we loved - Highly recommend having dinner and breakfast with them, the food is delicious and a real taste of Sri Lanka! We also learnt so much about the cuisine from the hosts. - The hosts themselves were so lovely and were happy to have a conversation with you, which we loved. Their attention to detail is truly appreciated, even something like a welcome drink on arrival after a sweaty journey. Communication via whatsapp was prompt! - Added bonus they have 2 of the most gorgeous dogs who we enjoyed spending some time with whilst we were relaxing Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a tranquil escape at a reasonable price, was truly one of our favourite stays during our month in Sri Lanka.

If you don't have transport it can be a little hard to get around but you have everything you need at the accomodation and the host can organise everything for you from food to safaris to even tours around the town.

We had an incredible stay at Yala Leisure Villa. We were a family of 6, and we had a very comfortable, easy, and enjoyable stay. The rooms were absolutely perfect!!!! Everything was incredibly clean and the outside areas were very beautifully set out. The villa is run by an amazing family, who were extremely helpful throughout our stay. They also provided a huge breakfast meal! We were very impressed and well prepared for our journey ahead. The family offers incredible Yala safari tours and other tours. We would highly recommend!!!! 😄

An ideal option for a couple away from everyone and from the hustle and bustle and also an ideal option for a single person.I saw a large number of birds in the morning,I was going out for a morning walk & a peacock was running. In the evening we went on a safari in Yala wild life park to enjoy the wild life in sri lanka & we were able to see the Leopards.This safari park is 30 mins from this property and the host can arrange it upon request.

We booked this hotel because it was in the area we needed and it was very reasonably priced. Those expectations were met. The room was large and very comfortable, bathroom was a good size and very clean. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly, efficient and helpful.

We had an amazing stay at Leisure Villa-Yala! owner and his family were incredibly welcoming, ensuring every detail was perfect. From delightful meals to bird-watching tours, the location near Yala National Park for safaris and he arranged the safari for us,It was an amazing experience,we saw many animals especially a leopard,elephants,crocodiles,deers Impeccable and spacious rooms with AC, very good and comfortable bed to a delicious breakfast and Dinner– everything exceeded expectations.The building is surrounded by lots of trees. The host was very kind and friendly. We got to eat home made food. Dont miss to order their meals because they were very delicious.This is one of the best place I have ever stayed. The price is reasonable and the rooms are spot clean. The host made sure we are well taken care of. This is absolutely great value for money.
