Simon and his family doing a great job for this hotel. It is right in the center in Cancun where tourist want to be (for those who doesn't want to be in Hotel Zona anymore). Looking very nice and tidy. Simon made it sure that our stay was good and we where comfortable. He is always ready to help, suggest what to do where to go, which tour to take etc. The pool is small but very nice to have to chill :)

Simón está permanentemente atento a cualquier necesidad. Gran anfitrión. Luis prepara unos desayunos exquisitos. La pileta es perfecta. No hay ruidos a pesar de estar céntrico. Se vive en el Cancún verdadero. Es como estar en casa.

nada. Solo una sugerencia, sería muy útil tener un pequeño frigobar en la habitación, el clima caluroso hace necesario tener agua fresca a mano.

Hola el desayuno estaba muy rico, cada dia cambiaba el plato principal y nos traian jugos y fruta cortada, con mucha amabilidad, incluso un dia que teníamos que salir muy temprano, nos prepararon una bolsa de picnic con un sanwich delicioso

Nada tanto Simon como su compañero llevan el establecimiento con profesionalidad y atención al detalle, la alberca esta muy limpia y todo muy cuidado.

Located in a lively and authentic neighborhood, yet the building itself is quiet and welcoming. The location is ideal for getting anywhere easily. The staff was always friendly, helpful, and available. And the breakfast is definitely the winning card!

Abbiamo soggiornato al The Quetzal a Cancún e ci siamo trovati davvero molto bene. Il proprietario è stato gentilissimo e molto disponibile: a causa di un nostro ritardo siamo arrivati a mezzanotte, ma ci ha accolti senza problemi e ci ha permesso di fare il check-in anche a quell’ora. Abbiamo soggiornato solamente una notte, perché il giorno successivo avevamo il volo dall’aeroporto di Cancún, ma per le nostre esigenze è stata una scelta davvero ottima. Struttura comoda e accoglienza eccellente. Consigliato!

Die Unterkunft war wirklich super! Wir wurden von unserem Gastgeber Simon sehr herzlich empfangen, obwohl wir erst spät angekommen sind. Simon war während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts ausgesprochen zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Auf Fragen hat er immer sehr schnell reagiert, sowohl über die Plattform als auch persönlich vor Ort, und war bei unseren Anliegen stets sehr kulant. Besonders beim Check-out kam er uns sehr entgegen, sodass wir unseren Aufenthalt kurzfristig noch etwas verlängern konnten, sofern es die Belegung der Unterkunft zugelassen hat. Er konnte uns außerdem tolle Aktivitäten zu guten Preisen empfehlen und wir durften aufgrund unseres längeren Aufenthalts sogar unsere Wäsche bei ihm waschen. Das Frühstück wurde jeden Morgen mit viel Liebe und Leidenschaft zubereitet. Es gab immer einen schönen Teller mit frischem Obst, Eier und einen Korb mit leckerem Gebäck. Auch Luis, der uns beim Frühstück versorgt hat, war sehr freundlich und man konnte sich wunderbar mit ihm unterhalten. Der Pool war sauber und jederzeit zugänglich. Die Unterkunft selbst war angenehm ruhig und die Lage ist ebenfalls hervorragend: Direkt neben dem Parque Las Palapas, wo man auch spät abends noch sehr gut und günstig essen kann. Insgesamt haben wir absolut nichts zu bemängeln. Durch die herzliche Art der Gastgeber hat sich der Aufenthalt sehr familiär angefühlt. Wir würden definitiv wieder hier übernachten, wenn wir das nächste Mal in Cancún sind!

Stanze curate nell'arredamento ottima accoglienza e gentilezza bel giardino interno ricco di piante e una piccola piscina. Si trova nella old Town ci abbiamo soggiornato la prima notte a Cancun la strada è molto tranquilla e davanti c'è un giardino mentre poco più avanti una piazzetta molto curata con bancarelle di street food

La camera è all'interno di una villa che dispone di più stanze. Il giardino interno è molto bello e consente di uscire dal caos urbano. La colazione è buona e abbondante, uova preparate al momento. Si trova nel pieno centro messicano di Cancun, a 20 min di auto dalla zona hotelera ma a 5 min a piedi dal parque del las palapas, dove la sera la gente locale si riunisce per far giocare i bambini, sentire un concerto o mangiare una marquesitas.

Camera carina e luminosa. Grande piscina ben fruibile. Colazione ricca e buonissima! Posizione centrale comoda.

Troppa luce in camera nelle prime ore del mattino. Bagno molto piccolo, con erogazione dell'acqua migliorabile.

Le scale per salire al piano di sopra, ma lo staff è stato gentilissimo e ci ha fatto trovare le valigie già su per agevolarci

Un soggiorno meraviglioso! Hotel bellissimo, immerso in un verde spettacolare e con una piscina splendida. Fin dal nostro arrivo siamo stati accolti con estrema gentilezza e disponibilità, sentendoci subito a casa. La colazione preparata dallo chef è eccezionale: ricchissima e buonissima, con un cappuccino davvero ottimo! Una menzione speciale va a Simon, sempre disponibile e gentilissimo. Ha persino anticipato la colazione in occasione delle nostre escursioni, preparandoci dei panini buonissimi da portare con noi: un'attenzione davvero apprezzata. Hotel e camere pulitissimi, sempre ordinati e curati. Consigliatissimo! Se potessi, darei più di 5 stelle. Un posto in cui tornerei assolutamente!

Simon est un hôte au top. Il est gentil, disponible et de bons conseils. Mention spéciale car il parle très bien anglais. L’hôtel est très bien placé au calme mais près d’un place animée. Facile de se garer dans la rue juste devant. L’endroit est secure. Très joli patio avec la piscine. Chambre spacieuse et très propre. Un immense lit hyper confortable. Petit dej incroyable.!! Bref tout était parfait.

Das Hotel Quetzal ist ein verstecktes Schmuckstück im Zentrum von Cancun, ruhig gelegen und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Personal ist super und man fühlt sich tatsächlich wie zuhause. Toller, großer Pool und ein liebevolles Frühstück. Jederzeit gerne wieder :)

Ein kleiner Kühlschrank im Zimmer wäre noch perfekt gewesen :)

Wij hebben dit verblijf gekozen op basis van de goede recensies over het ontbijt. Dit viel helaas erg tegen. Er was geen yoghurt (dit was iemand vergeten te halen) en we kregen dit niet, waardoor ook niet de granola. Het geroosterde brood was echt oud. Dit zou ik de eenden nog niet eens hebben gevoerd. Toen we aankwamen rook het ontzettend naar wiet. Er zou een andere gast blowen, aldus de medewerker. Later zagen wij een jongeman een prive vertrek in gaan die compleet van de wereld was. En dat was niet enkel van de wiet als je het ons vraagt…

Struttura pulita e molto carina nel centro storico di Cancun. Nonostante la posizione centrale, la zona era estremamente tranquilla e silenziosa. Camera ampia dotata di tutto il necessario per un soggiorno di qualche giorno (phon, aria condizionata e ventilatore, asciugamani e teli mare, piccolo balconcino), il bagno era di dimensioni adeguate con doccia spaziosa. Siamo stati accolti con calore e con un sacco di informazioni utili per vivere al meglio il nostro tempo a Cancun (consigli su cosa visitare e posti in cui mangiare). La colazione era ottima, preparata al momento (considerate i dovuti tempi, in tutti gli hotel visitati in Messico le giornate iniziano con tranquillità, se si hanno esigenze diverse probabilmente è bene accordarsi la sera prima per non rischiare di fare tardi). La piscina sempre disponibile per gli ospiti ci ha dato un bel sollievo dal caldo.

Per raggiungere le camere bisogna salire da una scala a chiocciola. Attenzione in caso di persone con difficoltà motorie o se si viaggia con valigie molto voluminose e pesanti. In ogni caso il proprietario si è occupato del trasporto in camera dei nostri bagagli all'arrivo.

La camera era grande e spaziosa, il bagno separato con una grande doccia. L'accesso alla struttura avviene da una porta laterale su una via secondaria che può sembrare particolare ma in realtà è molto tranquilla. Si trova a 5 min a piedi dal parque de las palapas, il centro messicano di Cancun. Una bella piazza cittadina che la sera si anima di persone, bambini e street food. La camera dispone anche anche di un piccolo spazio esterno privato e gli spazi comuni sono dotati di piscina. La colazione è buona e abbondante, preparata espressa tutte le mattine. L'accoglienza dell'host e delle persone che lavorano nella struttura eccezionale. E' dotata di aria condizionata e ventilatore E' possibile fare late check out molto utile nei giorni di ritorno a casa per fare una doccia dell'ultimo minuto

la finestra della stanza si chiude ma non si blocca, tutta via lo spazio esterno ha muri altissimi e una recinzione elettrificata.

The property was absolutely stunning! The inside of the property was very clean and thoughtfully decorated with plants and local flare. The pool was refreshing and very well maintained.

The outside of the property is a little off putting with graffiti around the exterior wall and it was difficult to find the entrance at night.

Como boa brasileira que sou, escolho hotel pelo café da manhã. Este era servido no estilo continental, com uma cesta de pães doces e salgados, ovos mexidos com algum acompanhamento que variava todos os dias, café, leite ou chá, frutas e iogurte. Tudo era muito saboroso e o café da manhã era realmente delicioso. A casa é linda, com um ambiente perfeito para relaxar. É possível ter bastante privacidade, e o quarto e o banheiro estavam extremamente limpos. A cama era muito confortável, e a piscina, sempre limpa, fica em um quintal repleto de flores, tornando o ambiente ainda mais agradável para descansar depois dos passeios. O Simon, filho da proprietária, foi muito simpático e prestativo. Estávamos com muita bagagem e íamos para Cozumel, então seria difícil levar tudo no ferry. Perguntamos se ele conseguiria nos ajudar, e ele cobrou apenas um valor simbólico para deixarmos a bagagem no hotel até o dia de voltarmos para pegar o voo em Cancún. Outra coisa que achei muito legal foi ouvi-lo contar a história do hotel; dá para perceber o orgulho que ele tem da mãe e de tudo o que ela construiu. O chef Luis, que nos servia o café da manhã e também era responsável por outras demandas internas, era igualmente muito simpático, atencioso e prestativo. O hotel não fica na zona hoteleira, mas está em uma região central. Dá para ir a pé até a rodoviária, o que é muito útil para quem pretende ir a Playa del Carmen, por exemplo, já que sai bem mais barato do que contratar um transfer. Também há feirinha de artesanato, restaurantes, supermercado por perto, e o aeroporto fica a cerca de 20 minutos. Recomendo de olhos fechados!

it was clean, spacious, comfy bed, lovely details (like mexican soaps for free in the shower), AMAZING breakfast, beautiful pool and chill area -the host Simon and the chef (sorry forgot the name) were amazing! Simon went to a restaurant/bar with us and showed us his favorite beer and food. really enjoyed this place, location was good to reach from the airport and we always felt safe highly recommend!

Loved this place. The room was big, great bathroom and a private patio. Artistically decorated, icy air con which we barely used, ceiling fans were enough. Alberto checked us in and helped me get my local SIM working. Great pool, we went in every day. It's a bit hard to spot. We got a message just before we arrived which I didn't look at. There was a picture of the place which would have helped a lot, so look out for that! It's a great local neighbourhood, a world away from the horror of the Zona Hotelera. Final mention for the excellent breakfast, cheerfully served by a guy whose name I didn't get, but who gave us excellent advice on places to go. Oh, another final mention. There's a 5% surcharge if you pay with a card - so we went to the atm and paid cash.

Vorab sehr informative Kommunikation zu Anreise Preis für das Taxi, etc. Wir wurden empfangen und haben direkt ein paar Tipps für Restaurants etc. erhalten. Zimmer war super, sehr groß mit Balkon. Das Bett war bequem, das Bad super. Das Frühstück war großartig und der Koch sehr freundlich. Perfekt Lage, viele Restaurants und Märkte fußläufig zu erreichen.

Second séjour dans ce petit hôtel familial où l’accueil est toujours aussi chaleureux. Les chambres sont très confortable et équipée de vitre qui empêche d’être vu le jour de l’extérieur ce qui est un plus en milieu urbain. Le petit déjeuner est très correct et le café délicieux. La piscine et sont cadre végétal est un vrai plus.

Uma pousada interessante e bem decorada pra quem quer fugir de grandes hoteis de massa e ter uma estadia mais aconchegante. Particularmente, achei ficar no Centro um pouco longe dos acessos as praias, mas foi uma escolha minha. Um ponto interessante eh que fica bem ao lado de uma praça com uma feirinha local e comidas de rua deliciosas, pra quem gosta desse tipo de experiencia, fugindo um pouco do turismo tradicional, o que eh o meu caso.

We had a great stay. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was generous and offered a good variety of options. The hotel is located in the center of Cancún, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés within walking distance. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cancún.

We loved our stay at the Quetzal! It's a short walk from the ADO bus station, and near a lively square with local music, food carts, stalls, and restaurants. Simon was a wonderful host, and incredibly helpful with recommendations on places to eat and other areas to visit. Special thanks to Monica for the delicious breakfast! We would definitely recommend and stay here again :)

I had a great stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Its a short walk from the bus station and nearby square which comes alive in the evenings with food stalls and families. There’s amazing street art all around. The staff are amazing, l had an early excursion (5:30 am pick up) and Simon had packed food ready for me, and I’m veggie. The room I had was great was great, both with a fan and AC and very comfortable.

It was an exceptional stay. The apartment and the whole object itself is very comfortable, cosy and aesthetically pleasing. Great attention has been paid to the details, aesthetics and comfort. And the breakfast is just fantastic, with very friendly host and staff. Highly recommended!

Très bel appartement proche du centre ville de cancun et Très pratique pour rejoindre le terminal ADO pour aller à l'aéroport. Simon est très à l'écoute et il répond rapidement à vos messages. N'hésitez pas à lui poser vos questions. Le petit déj est génial aussi, luis est vraiment sympa et il va vous gâter. Il y a un oxxo à côté. Recommandé à 100% sans hésiter.

RAS( une petite recommandation: poner un poco mas de cortinas en el cuarto, sobre todo en las ventanas que están en altura, para que no le moleste a los que les despierta la luz de la mañana)

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming. We asked if it would be possible to have breakfast half an hour earlier, and the chef kindly prepared it for us, which we really appreciated. The bed linen and bathroom were clean, and everything felt comfortable and well taken care of. Overall, the hotel has a very nice atmosphere, and we had a great experience.

Ontzettend vriendelijk ontvangen met een uitgebreide en duidelijke uitleg. Onze kamer was mooi, ruim en schoon. We verbleven maar 1 nachtje maar hebben heerlijk geslapen in het grote bed. De airconditioning werkte goed. Omdat we al vroeg vertrokken werd er een lunchbox voor ons geregeld die we mee konden nemen. Top!

De gastvrijheid, het lekkere ontbijt en de schone, mooie kamer. Het lag vlakbij een pleintje met veel eettentjes. Ideaal om even op adem te komen na een lange reis.

Le cadre, le calme, la propreté des lieux, le petit-déjeuner excellent et copieux (le cuisinier est aux petits soins, souriant, arrangeant), la piscine, la sécurité des lieux.

Pas grand chose à redire... peut-être ajouter un petit frigo dans la chambre. Attention!!! Les escaliers en colimaçon pour atteindre le premier et le 2ème étage sont étroits et pentus!!! Difficile d'y monter et descendre les valises. Peut poser problème pour certaines personnes. Demander lors de votre réservation une des 2 chambres du rez-de-chaussée. Ceci dit en étant au 2ème étage, très calme et aucun moustique. Ceci n'est qu'un détail mais qui peut avoir son importance. Nous avons passé 3 jours top pout finir notre séjour au Mexique!!! Je recommande +++

we loved the Quetzal so much we decided to come back at the end of our trip to stay another night. it’s a charming house full of greenery, Sam and the staff are warm and accommodating. spacious rooms, delicious breakfast.

L'emplacement, quartier où il n'y a rien. On ne se sent pas très en sécurité. Pas de réfrigérateur dans la chambre ni coffre fort. Chambre au rdc, sombre, sans charme. C'est plus une chambre d'hôtes qu'un hôtel.

Best boutique hotel I've stayed in ever! Staff were extremely friendly, I'd highly recommend this place. Sheets and room was super clean too and the food for breakfast was really good. Location also perfect because its not too touristic the area and located next to a central plaza where people are dancing and eating food every night.

Shower head was too short (I'm over 6ft) so I was slouching to have a shower, but honestly not a biggie. Place was 10/10!

L’accueil de Símon, son frère et surtout le chef pour le petit dej. Ils ont été aux petits soins pour nous tout le long du séjour jusqu’à nous proposer de nous préparer à manger le midi. Incroyable repas, on s’en souviendra longtemps. Les meilleurs tacos que j’ai mangé! Encore un grand merci ☺️

Simon war ein sehr herzlicher und zuvorkommender Gastgeber. Die Lage ist ausserdem perfekt für die Weiterfahrt mit dem ADO Bus oder für einen Aufenthalt im Zentrum von Cancun. Das Frühstück und der Koch waren genial.

Elke dag starten met een heerlijk ontbijt. Vlakbij het hotel ligt een plein waarop elke avond diverse local activiteiten worden gehouden.

De ligging vlakbij ADO busstation is zeer prettig en het ontbijt is echt super lekker. Personeel erg vriendelijk. Alles schoon en prima. Prachtige tuin. Dank je wel Lluis!

De trap naar boven is best steil , dus voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn niet erg praktisch.

Nos gustó la limpieza ya que fue impecable, la amabilidad en su recepción, habitación grande con todo lo necesario. La ubicación si es que quieres estar cerca del centro, y los desayunos preparados por Luis, increibles. Nos llevamos una grata sorpresa

Le personnel était adorable, accueillant, chaleureux et discret. Notre avion arrivait tard et ils nous ont attendu pour nous accueillir et nous présenter les lieux. L’espace à vivre avec la piscine est très calme et apaisant.

L’escalier en colimaçon : ce sont nos hôtes qui ont monté les valises au second étage mais les descendre à été une épreuve de force !! Vraiment pas pratique , ce qui explique nos notes ! Et puis mon fils a trouvé un insecte dans son lit : nous croisons les doigts pour que ce ne soit qu’un cafard et pas une punaise de lit !! Désinfection des valises à l’arrivée !

Ein wunderschönes Hotel, welches ich sehr empfehlen kann. Das Personal war sehr herzlich und liebevoll. Sie haben uns viele Tipps gegeben und haben rundum für einen tollen Aufenthalt gesorgt. Die Lage ist perfekt und sehr zentral.

After 23 hours of flying it was the perfect place to arrive into Mexico, relaxing from the moment we arrived till the delicious breakfast on our departure. Managed by a very friendly pair of brothers. Already recommended it to a friend arriving in a week.

Not a dislike, but if you have bad knees like me, ask for a bedroom downstairs (I did but my friend was up the narrow stairwell, which for most would be perfectly fine)

The AC didn’t really work and turned itself off very 20 minutes. This was super annoying during the night but I’m sure that the staff is trying to fix this for the next guests.

Alles perfekt. Sehr sauber, super bequeme Betten, tolles Frühstück und sehr bemühtes & freundliches Personal. Sehr schöner Garten mit vielen Vögeln und feiner Atmosphäre!

The only “con” is the narrow stairs to get upstairs, might be troubling for someone with mobility problems

Wir haben sehr spontan gebucht und sind bereits knappe 30Minuten später angekommen. Es war trotzdem bereits alles vorbereitet und wir konnten direkt in unser Zimmer. Und wurde alles ausführlich erklärt und gezeigt. Auch sehr früher Check-out um 5Uhr morgens war kein Problem. Zimmer und Anlage waren sehr sauber und gepflegt. Gute Lage mit sehr vielen Restaurants in direkter Umgebung und trotzdem sehr ruhig.
