Reviewed Sep 13, 2026Camera pulitissima con a disposizione uno sgabuzzino dove poter mettere le valigie; questo ci ha evitato di avere l'intralcio dei bagagli in camera tipico dei viaggi. Colazione super abbondante. Nel piccolo centro di Kilcar vi sono alcuni pub e locali da asporto. Bellissimo il giardino di comunità situato proprio accanto alla struttura.
Accanto alla struttura scorre un fiume; purtroppo vi sono anche delle pompe che emettono rumore per cui è stato necessario tenere la finestra chiusa e utilizzare i tappi per le orecchie.

Reviewed Sep 11, 2026The hostess is lovely and extremely accommodating. The shower is amazing! The breakfasts were great and the hostess encouraged us to take some fruit with us for the day out. She also gave us good tips on things to do in the area. She also cleans the room and puts fresh linen in every day, though we told her after the first day that this was not necessary.
The room was a bit tight, but it was sufficient. No real views - just a house in a nice little village. You basically have to go into Killybegs for dinner.

The B&B is spotless, nicely furnished, and convenient to the pub! Breakfasts were delicious. Kilcar is a lovely little town to have as a base for day trips around County Donegal. I can't say enough good things about our stay.

Reviewed Sep 5, 2026This was a very lovely and comfortable place to stay, in a beautiful part of Ireland,near my ancestral home. Very clean and very comfortable. Theresa is wonderful, helpful and very friendly. We felt right at home!
The one thing that requires a bit of planning are dinners. There are a few options nearby, but you should make plans.

The host was quite late in checking us in particularly after we accommodated her request that she would be late…but she was another hour late without adequate communication. Whilst she apologised , you pay good money for good service and this fell short. We are told by others that this is not typical so you’ll have to take this on face value.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026We had a wonderful stay at Kilcar Lodge. It’s a lovely place in a great location, perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean, making it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with plenty of choice and everything beautifully prepared. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Kilcar Lodge to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Excellent quality and location for seeing and visiting the sites in the area. Kilcar is a lovely quaint village with some great pubs to unwind. Community centre has nice tea rooms and good place to meet locals. The property itself was meticulously maintained Cooking and food was exceptional The host was such a kind lady with excellent knowledge of all the local areas and sights to visit We met guests of different nationalities and from the many corners of Ireland- wonderful experience

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Teresa provides a wonderful breakfast that fortified us for the day ahead. The property has a well deserved reputation for cleanliness, and she is a congenial and concerned host.
We're from a warmer climate, and it was cold for us that April night. As is typical of places with centralized heating with radiators in Ireland, heat is only on for a while in the night and the morning. That said, the bed is comfy and cozy, and we were warm enough once we got in. If you come from a warmer climate, maybe wait a little later in the spring to book this one.

Es gibt nichts Negatives zu berichten. Nur der Hinweis, dass ein Fluß hinter dem Haus fließt. Diesen hört man auch nachts etwas. Ist also nichts für Leute, die absolute Ruhe brauchen.

There is a running brook behind the house with some small waterfalls. The location was perfect. Off street parking was nice.

This was the nicest place we stayed in Ireland during our first two weeks here. Perfect location if you’re going to Slieve League. We got a great recommendation from the owner for a place to eat that was also one of our favourites.

And the showers - Fabulous with great water pressure! We also loved the plastic bottles of water, which we were able to take us for the day.
