Muckross School House

The location

All was good

Amazing views from the house and within a short walk of the lovely Muckross headland and beach. The house is well heated and we enjoyed using the fireplace. There is a decent supermarket just a short drive away. Peter gave some great suggestions for activities and places to eat. Would stay again

The view

Uroczy domek w przepięknym miejscu

The location was superb, which made our stay special.

Could have been a little cleaner, large cobwebs in bathroom. Plus crockery in kitchen was very high up and difficult to get at.

The location is a one off, the beauty and location is a very rare thing indeed. The host Peter was extremely thoughtful and helpful in his communications. His directions and communications were very clear and helpful. There are no words for the beauty and serenity of Peter's place. Within the hour upon arrival the spectacular view and the cozy inside of the schoolhouse transport you into peace and calm. It's as though you have stepped into a great Irish film, and Kilcar characters of the Town welcome you, and entertain you, without a once of effort. The people of the Kilcar are gold, and Peter's place a hidden treasure.

Spectacular view. Great help from Nora, she was absolutely amazing! The area is beautiful.

The place had a very strong chemical odour. Quite small, small fridge and kitchen. Expensive for what the place has to offer.

The history of the house. Also the scenery is amazing.

Amazing location, fabulous view, really comfortable and a great and responsive host.

A drying rack for the laundry would have been nice

With zero hyperbole I can say this is the quintessential Irish cottage experience. While not the largest place you might stay, the cottage has just enough space to be perfectly sized and set up in a way that only magnifies the charm of the spectacular location. The kitchen was also equiped with normal things you'd expect in a normal kitchen (this is rare in places it seems).

I wish I had known how good it is before I booked so I could have stayed longer.

Very nice place with a lovely view !

Great location, nice and quiet, easy walk to the beach and plenty of areas to visit withing easy and scenic drives. Nice clean and comfortable house with a bit of character.

Shower cubicle could do with a spruce up but perfectly usable otherwise.

Location amazing and house was lovely Really enjoyed our stay. Will be back

amazing location and view

The location was excellent. You’d go along way around the world to get a better view than the view from the schoolhouse. The beach below the schoolhouse is absolutely fantastic.
