Everything about my stay was utterly perfect!! Niki welcomed me warmly and showed me to my beautiful room, she made me feel at home from the moment I arrived till the moment I reluctantly left. The breakfast was fresh, interesting and delicious. Great coffee!
That I couldn't stay longer :) Everything was perfect!
Beautiful and tastefully renovated with such friendly atmosphere. Perfectly delish breakfast. Lovely lounge area with cozy fire place and hospitality bar for evening drinks.
Breakfast was excellent, as expected .. There was WiFi but no TV in the room .. The bed was very comfortable and there was an air conditioner. and spare blanket with Tea and coffee replaced every day.
There should have been a TV in the room and a table and chair to sit at and write .. No cupboard, and we found the room a bit small .. for the price we paid .. We do understand that the Lodge has shortly been upgraded and refurbished but had not been completed. My opinion is that our accommodation was overpriced Also there was no-one to receive us at the reception and the front door were both locked. Towels were not replaced daily
Nice choice excellently presented and well cooked
Nothing really to say all was excellent
The hotel is well located, within walking distance to everything. Niki and her staff were great hosts. The bed was extremely comfy, especially the pillows, as I normally have an issue with pillows in guest houses. Although it was a chilly evening, there is a stunning wood fire place in the room but I was thrilled to find a good old fashioned hot water bottle in the drawer and that kept my feet toasty warm all night. The breakfast is plentiful, fruit salad + cereal + hot brekky, I went for the avo on toast with bacon, I couldn't finish it, their portions are very generous. Even though the hotel has been recently bought over and newly renovated, everything ran smoothly. I will definitely stay there next time.
Room was very comfortable, clean and neat. Breakfast was superb - delicious.
Nothing comes to mind.
Location, breakfast annd friendly staff and owner. Aircon in room
Mattres can be better. Drain smell in the room. Think problem with drain block. Kettle on floor to get boiled. Floating shelves will be a good option
The location is lovely and the room was pretty. We were welcomed very warmly.
We were told that the room had just been renovated and that there was no door between the bedroom and the loo which was fine for us but after some time we also realized there was no mirror in the bathroom, the floors were covered in builders dust. The bedding was super thin, more for summer than deep winter (it was very cold) and there were no hangers in the cupboard. The floorboards were lose and the kettle cord didn’t stretch to the dresser so we had to boil it on the floor. It just felt like the room wasnt ready for guests yet….
It was fairly pretty
It was pretty cramped. We don’t really see any staff except at breakfast. The pool isn’t very nice. It was a bit of let down for what it cost.
The breakfast omelette was excellent, the lounge area in the old part of the house is quite nice. The owners are friendly
The property lacks charm, a random collection of old cottages. We stayed in a damp room, with a door that couldn't close properly. No real views to speak of and zero charm.
The property is about to undergo extensive renovations and by the owners' own admission there is work to be done. Beautiful property and location with lovely gardens. Good breakfast and very friendly host. Lovely setting in a beautiful little town.
I am not a fan of Open bathrooms where to you can see and hear everything and find it very odd that you can see directly into the shower from the dressing table/desk area.. I was glad I was alone.
Well located, old world charm
Property needs re-investment as it shows clear signs of aging.
Lovely setting
Open plan bathroom . Room 8
Bed was comfortable and the air-con/heater warmed up the room nicely. Staff were all very nice and the breakfast was great. Maybe add some muesli to the choices.
I felt that the room was expensive for what you got. I have stayed in more luxurious rooms for much less. One had to keep all the blinds closed as people could see in from the road and from the side window as they walked past. It might be an idea in the future to put screen up on the road side. The bathroom was strange as there was just a curtain between the bedroom and bathroom. It would be nice to have a plug point above the small dresser and not underneath as one had to plug the kettle in on the floor.
The owner was very welcoming and the location lovely.
Nicky, the owner was superb as were her team. We celebrated a milestone birthday as a large group and she helped us with allowing us complete ownership of the Lodge. Nothing was too much. The lounge with its fireplace and the large honesty bar amazing.
Nothing
The owner Nicky was super friendly and generous. We hosted a big celebration over the long weekend and she allowed us access to the whole property. She arranged babysitters, allowed us to braai and use their kitchen and the fire and honesty bar in the main house were a massive hit. Best venue ever.

Lovely period building. Well appointed. Nice quiet part of town.
Breakfast was fantastic , friendly staff , and comfortable beds.
Water pressure in the shower room 7
Breakfast was good. Vibe was good. Quiet part of Main road
Bathroom/toilet was a bit exposed
The breakfast at Greyton Lodge is always excellent the staff are friendly and welcoming This was our 4th visit to attend the Fools and fans beer festival We are always treated like family
I didn’t get my favourite room but it was fine where we were
The location and the overall artsy feeling
The bathroom saws better days especially the shower, the blind facing the bed that is missing a piece so the outdoor flood light shines right through and keeps me awake
The lodge is beautifully decorated very high quality. The owners Nikki & carl are lovely and welcoming and the staff are so friendly. It has a beautiful garden and in very central location. Highly highly recommend it.
.
Lovely old colonial style lodge in the centre of Greyton. Good sized air conditioned rooms. The excellent breakfast.
Open plan bathroom in the room. However I believe the new owners are in the process of addressing this.
The owners and staff were absolutely amazing! So accommodating and friendly. Breakfasts were all superb, great value for money. Location is ideal. Walking distance to everything. A great getaway!
Great location and staff
Tired room, squeaky bed, dated pool, lack of fridge in room
Good breakfast.Friendly reception and staff.
Family room was slightly run down.
Rustig dicht bij centrum beloopbaar
Niets
The staff were so friendly! Especially the kitchen staff. I enjoyed how peaceful it was and the room was very nicely decorated.
I’d suggest not leaving windows open after the room is cleaned ( mosquitoes ) and the cold items on the breakfast buffet should be on ice or refrigerated somehow.
Great staff and a very warm welcome from both the old and the new owners. Loved the concept of the honesty bar (although we didn’t use it ) fab breakfast - great location
Wasn’t keen on having a toilet directly in the bedroom and the pool could use a bit of an update but otherwise a great stay !
Great location on Main Road 5 minutes from the hustle and bustle on weekends. Nice views of the mountains. Lovely breakfast.
The far end of the property where we stayed deserves a renovation: windows, floors, lighting outside as you walk to the room.
Position and facilities
Nikki was so welcoming and the whole experience was wonderful!
La gentillesse du personnel, à notre arrivée, au petit déjeuner
The breakfast was amazing. The gardens are lovely and peaceful and well kept. The hosts are super amazing, friendly and only too happy to please.
Our room was very small. The layout is not desirable as the toilet is in the open plan with no privacy. There was a large crack in the wall with damp and peeling paint. There was only 1 handwash liquid, so you needed to take that into the shower with you. No body lotion, showercap , little extras.
We liked the garden and breakfast alot. And the staff were incredible.
There were a few small noticeable things that were either not working or just needed some tlc, but nothing major. we would've liked a bar fridge in the room to keep our own water and snacks cool.
The breakfast was nice and the waitress very friendly.
We were very satisfied, no complaint.
The manager and staff were amazing, stored our luggage and parked cars for extra night while in the mountains. Very friendly!
You can’t go wrong with Greyton, and the guesthouse location is perfect: close to but not immersed amongst the shops and restaurants. Externally, the Lodge is delightful, flowers and brightness. Very good value for money.
The bedroom and en-suite would benefit from a makeover but are serviceable and lacking nothing important.
Location lovely, friendliness and helpfulness of staff great, and breakfast was good. They upgraded our room, which was very nice of them.
We stayed there years ago which was lovely. The lodge needs some attention, the pool area needs some TLC and the pool was murky. The bed was uncomfortable - mattress needs replacing.
Great location. Peaceful and tranquil
Location, personnel, breakfast.
No shower in room 6
The breakfast, staff and friendliness.
Last time my room was superb with updated bathroom facilities. This time the rooms in the old part were outdated.
The location, pool and quiet.
No Tv and body lotion.
Breakfast was very nice. Staff helpful.
Room and property needs some painting. Pool was a milky colour and did not look very welcoming. Garden could have been also better maintained.
Sehr ruhiger gemütlicher Ort. Netter Gastgeber. Hübsche Anlage ung Garten.
Pool Bereich optisch hübsch. Wasserqualität lädt nicht zum baden ein. Wasserstrahl bei Dusche sehr bescheiden.
We were meeting other family for brunch, so didnt have a full breakfast, but it looked absolutely delicious. We had some fresh fruit salad, yogurt and coffee. Next time will have breakfast at the lodge for sure.
the bed
Attention to detail is lacking, I think your delux suite should have a shower available. You have to put the kettle on the ground to boil the water as the plug is under the table and the kettle cord is too short.
Warm and comfortable breakfast room and lounge. Beautiful modern interior.
Plunger coffee at breakfast, but that is personal preference.
Everything was excellent!
The staff were excellent and very helpful during our stay. The place was overall very charming.
The room was generally fine, but the bathroom layout was a serious issue for me. The actual toilet (not just the shower or basin) was separated from the sleeping area only by a sheer, see-through curtain. While I understand that some hotels go for open or modern designs, having no visual privacy for the toilet is extremely uncomfortable and not something I would expect or enjoy, especially in a room with 2 separate beds. This wasn’t mentioned in the room description, nor was it pictured in the photos of the room when booking, and it’s the kind of detail that would have influenced my booking decision. Guests should be made aware of this in advance, as it will be a deal-breaker for many people.
Warm and welcoming host. Friendly staff. Beautiful surroundings. Excellent amenities. Walking distance to town.
Nothing at all.
Aircon
Swimming pool needs attention. Shower not clean Only a curtain for bathroom privacy. Not acceptable
The garden and the view of the mountains is beautiful and it felt inviting
I felt there could have been a few upgrades done such as the pool and our rooms needed a little bit of TLC. A bar fridge would have been nice. I felt like pool area could be so much nicer and it really needs a revamp. But overall we had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was lovely although some more options in the buffet would have been nice.
De lodge ligt op 5 minuten lopen van de drukste straten met winkels en restaurants. Goed bed en lekker ontbijt.
Eigenlijk niks.
I had a confirmed booking as well as a booking for dinner but when we arrived we were told they thought we had cancelled despite a whole lot of confirmation what's apps I had received from the manager which included a booking for dinner. We were then referred to another establishment which was cheaper but very good and were not refunded the difference in cost
The hotel itself is beautiful, the owner and staff were amazing and breakfast was great too. The location was also very convenient, quick walk to “town” and around the corner of the waterfall and hikes. Plus the honesty bar is well equipped with wines and cool drinks. We really enjoyed our stay in greyton.
The bed in our room seemed like it was about to crack. Every move was noisy and sleeping became a quite unpleasant experience. We had booked the hotel specifically because of the pool. Unfortunately the pool was dirty, also when it seemed like it was being cleaned the chemicals or whatever was in there would make the skin itch. So we didn’t use the pool as much as we had planned to, which wasnt ideal with the heat. Further, only 4 sun loungers was not enough for all the guests. It would have also been nice to have a mini fridge to store fruits and water. As there is no lunch or dinner offered at the hotel.
Breakfast was great.
I would have just preferred a separate toilet and bathroom, especially since we paid for an upgrade.
Great host and very Nice room in a cozy town center of Greyton.
Great location, parking and breakfast
No bathroom door or privacy, don’t book if in a couple or privacy needed. Pool water not clear, murky and dirty
Nice location super nice breakfast
Niet veel...
Kamer hopeloos verouderd, op het randje vuil
Wonderful host! Great location so we could walk around the town. A lovely pool to swim in. Plenty space to store our bikes. Fantastic breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay here on Christmas Eve.
Beautiful setting. The family room is big and comfortable. The staff really helpful and the breakfast was amazing.
Nothing
The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were in town for a MTB training camp and had quite a few special requirements, all of which were accommodated.
My room did not have aircon which would have been very nice. The fan at least provided some relief of the heat.
Une belle histoire dans un village accueillant
The garden and pool are beautiful and all amenities were there.
Beautiful garden to relax in. Bar with great selection. Very friendly and helpful team.
petit déjeuner, calme du jardin
la piscine n'est pas propre ni filtrée
Very comfortable. Lovely staff. Great Location for walking to town and trails.
Public area and staff great. Beautiful garden and picturesque
Bathroom had a bad odour Wasn't as expected, from pics Pool not clean Beds need a revamp Not terrible experience, but could do with a "clean-up"
Central
The bathroom is open to the bedroom which we were not aware of when booking and the room needs some maintenance
A two night stay. I and friend stayed at the lodge, each in our own room, as was requested. We were attending a wine event within the town, and our accommodation provided easy access to the event. Both our rooms were comfortable, clean with good services. A good and sufficient breakfast was provided as a part of the booking.
Nothing to dislike
Breakfast was fabulous and set in a lovely location.
There could have perhpas have been a small fridge in room to keep the products/water bought at the market cool.
Nothing
It was on the outskirts of the town - not in the central hub - the area felt unsafe. We booked the most expensive room on Booking.Com. The manager said he had upgraded us??? The room only had a bath, which leaked, and no shower. The room was incredibly tired, felt dirty and tacky. Loose flooring. Very overpriced for what you got. A couple were complaining about the blocked drains in their room when we checked out. Probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed in.
