All good, don't expect too much for breakfast choice just treat yourself to a 'full Irish' in the town at least once during your stay. Bacon in particular seems to be so much better than what you get outside Ireland.

Reviewed Apr 14, 2026The owner, manager, staff were very kind, and knowledgeable, and helpful. The location is very, very beautiful with a view of a nature park and a river so very close, right in front of you ! Just on the other side of a very quiet, rarely driven 2 lane road. AND ! ! an Ancient Bridge that is still in use and in the View also, being less than a football field away. And walk less than another football field and you are in the Historic Diamond Plaza of Historic Donegal. It is full of beautiful shops, Pubs, and restaurants, sit down or take aways, and Historic, and open, Churches and Cathedrals.

I understand a cooked breakfast was not on offer but a little more bread (maybe bread and a toaster) and a little more milk would have been nice. Yogurt in the fridge were out of date.

It was pretty cramped for two people, and there was a shared bathroom. We were aware of that when we booked, and the 2nd night we were the only guests, so it didn’t matter.

The host was not prepared for guests, check-in was at 3:00pm; I arrived 6:30 pm and room not ready. The mattress on the bed was so bad I could not sleep for pain, old cheap. The wall was so thin I was kept awake by neighbors snoring all night. Worse when I tried to speak to the owner to ask for a room change he was completely absent, no contact info posted, I tried at 11.30, went out. Tried at 1:30. Never saw or heard from him. He left the front door of the B& Wide open all day with only inadequate door locks to prevent theft, no security. I tried to get a refund for one night. Contacted customer service, he was to contact me within 1 hour, no reply. Tried to call, no answer. Sent email, no reply. Totally unacceptable experience! Even breakfast a lie - he simply left stale bread, nobutter, used jam, no milk. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

L'accueil à l'arrivée : nous sommes arrivés à 17:00. On nous a dit de revenir à 18:00. a 18:00, la personne a l'accueil n'était pas disponible car elle mangeait. Nous n'avons pas pu avoir la chambre avant 19:10. D'autres clients sont passés avant nous. Je me suis rendu compte ensuite que les toilettes n'avaient pas été faites, j'ai nettoyé les grosses traces dans la cuvette moi même car je ne parle pas bien anglais. La douche de la chambre voisine fait un bruit épouvantable. Les tables de petit déjeuner ne sont pas nettoyées avant le soir.

Мы останавливались здесь и в прошлом году... к сожалению, оценка ниже. Хозяин в силу объективных причин находится не в лучшей форме, ему тяжело физически со всем управляться, это вносит некоторую дезорганизацию в проживание.

I didn't realise it had a shared bathroom, I think that was my fault. It can make things a bit awkward at times. But the facilities were very clean and modern.

Could have done with a bit more for breakfast. Didn’t want to eat too much as there was only a small amount of food and milk and felt we needed to save some for the other guest. Also - could have done with a hand towel in the bathroom. The host was fab. Meet some great people in the dining room as well.

Nach eine Weile kam der Besitzer, Steve, ein sehr freundlicher Mann, der sehr bedacht war alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Sehr ruhige Ecke am Fluss ohne viel Verkehr aber nur 5 Minuten zu Fuss in die Stadt. Ich fühlte mich hier sehr wohl.

Steve was a lovely friendly host, full of info and recommendations. Location was super, literally a 2 min walk to the town centre and felt very safe. Parking is outside the door on the street but it’s metered (free on Sunday)

Unfortunately we were given the wrong room on arrival which had to be hovered before we could go up. No effort was made to change our room. Also there was no mat in the bathroom and a very weak lock on the door. No ventilation system either. The front door was left open late into the night. Anyone could have wandered in. The breakfast facilities need to be more hygienic and organised. This could be a lovely b&b if there were more staff and organisation

Papierdünne Wände, durch die man jedes Gespräch der Nachbarn hören konnte. Diese Nachbarn waren leider sehr mitteilsam und redeten bis 1.00 Uhr Nachts, ab um 5:00 Uhr früh ging es dann wieder los. Es gibt leider extrem rücksichtslose Menschen, wofür der Vermieter natürlich nichts kann. Frühstück gab's in Selbstbedienung und war selbst für irische Verhältnisse bescheiden. Frisches Obst gab's leider nicht (mehr).
