The hosts were very kind and attentive. They gave us great tips and ideas for planning our day. The breakfast was fantastic. We’d definitely stay there again. P.S. The accommodation is located in the hosts’ private home, and the house isn’t marked as a B&B from the outside.

Stunning property inside and out, with a glorious sea-view of the beautiful bay ahead of us. The wonderful hosts Heather & Don have left no stone unturned with their perfect eye for every detail. Our ground-floor room was beautiful, with generous complimentary food & drink, and a wonderful view of the stylish garden & classy seating area. The facilities were excellent and beautifully designed. Breakfast on the first floor had delightful sea-view, and the very eye-catching and beautifully displayed food was delicious. We think the taste and display of the cooked part of the breakfast was the best we have ever seen and tasted anywhere in the World, wow. Thank you so much Heather & Don for our memorable stay.

This property is amazing! Staying at Heather and Don’s place is like staying with family you actually enjoy catching up with. The accommodation wants for nothing; it is clean, comfortable, plenty of room, great shower, lovely views over the water. Don’t even get me started on the breakfast! What a way to start the day! Handy to walk to town and lots of restaurants, just across the road from the waterfront and the walking paths. Just fabulous, cannot recommend this place enough.

We had a wonderful stay at Water’s Edge in Whitianga and would absolutely return. The location is hard to beat—right on the waterfront with beautiful views, and just a short, easy walk into town for restaurants, shops, and activities. The apartment itself was incredible- spacious, clean, and very well equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. Waking up to the sound of the water and enjoying coffee and an incredible restaurant class breakfast overlooking the bay was a real highlight. Heather and Don were friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and ensuring everything we needed was taken care of. Small special touches like turn down for bedtime and chocolates, plus a welcome cheese and wine. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful, perfect for switching off and enjoying the Coromandel.

New Zealand is a fantastic country full of wonderful memories and experiences, and a trip to New Zealand would not be complete without staying at Heather and Dons B&B. It is without doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed in and possibly up there with the very best hotel accommodation anywhere. From the wonderful greeting on arrival to the moment you leave it is a wonderful experience. The house and the room are beautiful and breakfast has to be seen to be believed. You will not want for anything during your stay from supplying beach towels and spades when you visit Hot Water Beach, the cheese and biscuits and chilled wine in your fridge on arrival and chocolates on your bed in the evening. We needed to contact a GP during our stay and Heather even phoned around to see what she could arrange. Heather and Don are wonderful hosts and the only negative thing in our stay was having to leave, it was like staying with your favourite relatives, just book you will never regret it.

The property is beautiful and well located looking over the beach. Heather and Don provide lots of little extras -wine, cheese,fruit-which was appreciated. Brilliant beach side location with perfect welcoming hosts Heather and Don. Nice room with lots of yummy extras, garage parking for car plus delicious breakfast every day. Helped us orientate to Whitianga and region generally with hints and tips. Don even drove us round Whitianga to show us views we'd never have found!

Room a little bit small when you have large cases to open /use every day.

Wir wollten gar nicht mehr weg. Die Eigentümer sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Schwarz-Weiß zieht sich konsequent durch das Haus. Unser Apartment im Erdgeschoss hatte mehrere Terrassen mit Sitzmöbeln und der Blick zum Meer war nur durch die Straße und eine Hecke versperrt. Das Badezimmer war richtig groß und modern. Eine tolle Dusche. Morgens und abends wurde das Zimmer gereinigt und wir konnten unsere Wäsche waschen. Als ob wir bei Freunden zu Besuch waren. Großartig. Richtig gut war das Frühstück mit einer leckeren Eierspeise oder heute Morgen mit Avocado-Brot. Lecker. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zugewandt begrüßt und auch verabschiedet. DANKESCHÖN für den tollen Aufenthalt.

Ein Kreisverkehr ist direkt vor dem Haus. Aber ab 22:00 Uhr bis 8:00 Uhr war es äußerst ruhig.

The place was just amazing ! The house and room were just gorgeous and in front of the beach. Heather and her husband were amazing, helpful and kind and gave us recommandations for restaurants and spots to visit. The breakfast was great, it was on par with a 5-star hotel breakfast ! Wine, chesse and snacks were also included with the room, a really nice touch.

Podíamos acceder desde el garaje sin necesidad de molestar a los dueños y eso nos dio la independencia que necesitábamos. Los anfitriones fueron de 10; nos ayudaron a planear nuestros días por la zona y nos prepararon el desayuno todas las mañanas con mucho cariño y a la hora que queríamos.

Our stay in Whitianga was excellent! We received a very good and warm attention from the owners of this property and also a lot of tourist information. The room was big and very cleane and a lot of attention was given to every detail. The breakfast was delicious! The village is beautiful and very peaceful.

Don and Heather were amazing hosts. The room was impeccable, the attention to detail in the decor of the home is incredible and the location is perfect. They provided a delicious breakfast and snacks in the room which was a pleasant surprise. They gave us recommendations for places/restaurants to visit and they turned out great each time. They've created a beautiful home that they welcome the guests into and we would highly recommend their B&B to anyone visiting Whitianga.

Loved their advice on places to see and do. Wentworth Falls were amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer really. What a way to start our trip.

Extremely warm hosts Heather and Don. They provided way more than expected--welcoming tour, attraction guide, daily chocolate, restaurant recommendations, fabulous breakie, you name it. My partner and I were inspired by the little designs for our new house, especially the heated towel rail? poles? which we havent found a manufacturer yet.

Review: A Truly Pampered Stay with Heather and Don From the moment we arrived, Heather and Don were absolutely fabulous—true consummate hosts. The location couldn’t have been better, situated right across from the beach with stunning views of the area. Our bedroom and bathroom were spotless and beautifully appointed, and the gardens were just lovely. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a thoughtful cheese platter complete with crackers, grapes, and a bowl of fresh fruit—a delightful touch. Bottled water was provided, and for coffee lovers, there was fresh coffee available too. We felt thoroughly pampered throughout our stay. In the morning, Heather and Don treated us to an incredible breakfast: fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, toast with jams, and fresh orange juice. They then offered us eggs and bacon, served on a delicious toasted baguette with avocado—an absolute treat! Heather and Don truly know how to make their guests feel special. We can’t recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough.

Was there anything that could have gone better? Absolutely nothing could have gone better for us. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and we felt completely cared for from start to finish. It was truly a lovely and memorable experience.

Water's Edge B&B exceeded our expectations! As we drove up to their house, Heather & Don greeted us, and they were so helpful with everything that we needed. The room was beautifully decorated; the whole house was stunning. The view of the bay was amazing. The breakfast they served us was visually appealing on the plate, and delicious! The room had everything we needed from a very comfy bed, a beautiful, large patio to relax on, electric kettle for tea, coffee maker, snacks, and a nice bottle of wine, and they had WiFi for us to use. This stay at Water's Edge was a gem, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Heather & Don.

Don and Heather were the perfect hosts! Their home is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and LOCATION was exceptional. Gorgeous views from 2nd story deck, just cross the street for a walk on the beach or stroll 5-10 minutes to a selection of restaurants. Cherry on top are the lovely treats in your room...wine, cheese, crackers, chocolates! And a 5 star gourmet breakfast as beautifully presented as tasty!

We spent a wonderful stay in Heather & Don's place. The sea view on Whitianga beach is gorgeous and the house is very nicely decorated, all in black & white. Despite a late arrival, we were warmly welcomed and Heather and Don are not shy about offering advice on things to do in the area. The breakfast is just fabulous and very well presented

The B&B is a modern, beautiful space in a great location. Walk to restaurants, and the beach right across the street. The breakfast on the terrace every morning was amazing. But what really makes it special are the hosts Heather and Don. Amazing hosts and even more amazing people. Had a lovely time chatting with them. Highly recommend staying here a few nights!

Stunning modern house with fabulous views of the beach across the street. The bedroom is a very comfortable large room on the street level with a slider to a private outdoor lounge area with outdoor couches and tables. The hosts are fantastic and gave yery helpful suggestions. They only rent out one room downstairs, so it is very private and quiet, although the house is close to the road. This is one of the nicest B &B houses we have stayed in. The beach across the street is beautiful and the B&B is walking distance to restaurants and shops nearby. It is immaculately clean with an unbelievably delicious and creative breakfast.

Exceptional amenities: 2 beautiful adjacent gardens for guests, huge comfortable stylish bedroom, ample space, fridge/drawers/cupbrds stocked with free wine, tea/coffee, snacks, (bathroom drawer offered every item imaginable from razors to very personal toiletries; every need under the sun provided for. The hosts, Heather and Don, were very welcoming and accommodated our requests. My wife asked for a yoga mat, and she was allowed to borrow not only a yoga mat but also a bolster, blocks, etc. Each day, we discussed the best hiking options and weather conditions. All of the suggested walks were uncrowded and beautiful. We learned about Whitianga culture, food, and the seas and rivers surrounding it.

Absolute exceptional accomodation / could not fault anything and we loved our 2 x nights. Super convienent to the beach and some of the best restaurants in Whitianga. The home is super modern and the outdoor dining areas and view are the highlights and then there was the breakfast ..STUNNING ! Beautiful fresh fruit / omelette's dining out on the deck over looking the beach...Heather and Don were amazing host's..

Food was perfect and preparation with presentation was top notch! Heather and Dan were the perfect hosts! Love the location, their welcome, even parked in their own garage, with easy access to our room! Views from room were perfect! look out on sitting porch to see the ocean. Nice walks to the beach and eating. Easy location and position to find! Would recommend this B and B for couples!!! You will love it!! We sure did!!!
