Beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. Superb reception staff
Relaxing stay
The supper could be more interesting with different cheeses or more protein
Beautiful setting
If you ever want a lesson in attention to detail, this is the place to go! From the moment we set foot on the property, it was clear that they have literally thought about everything they do, how they do it and why they do it. The reception/breakfast area is beautiful, welcoming and makes you want to shop. (This may or may not be a warning...but the merchandise asks to be taken home.) After a warm welcome and sign in, we were directed to our room and met there to show us where to park, help us in, and explain everything in the room. As I've said, if you want to a lesson in attention to detail - from the decor, to the layout, positioning of simple things like the kettle, the fridge, the bench in the kitchen to the amenities, biscuits (TO DIE FOR!), good quality tea and coffee etc. etc. It was just a pleasure to stay there from the moment we arrived. The bed was super comfortable and they use high quality linen (which makes a difference to how you sleep - it does for us, anyway). We loved the fact that there is a clear focus on protecting the environment, attracting birds and making beautiful gardens and features. We're keen birders, so we absolutely loved the presence of all the birds and the barn owls (they gave us a proper "owl show"). Keep in mind we were there in the dead of winter so it's not even prime birding season, and the place was teeming with birds. Also, there was a wood stove in the kitchen area and an air-conditioner in the bedroom - so we weren't at all cold. (There was a problem with the aircon when we arrived, but it was literally sorted out within ten minutes.) Breakfast was delicious - and the portions were not too big (we hate wasting food) or too small. I'd love to return in summer.
Everything
Lovely option of Biscuits in rooms.
Limited coffee in rooms. One large bottle water only. Water pressure in shower not strong enough.
Such a fantastic place to stopover. The decor, gardens and high standards were amazing. I will not go anywhere else now when I stopover in Bloem. Just loved this place - from the fresh flowers and apples in the room to the coffee and brownies on the stoep overlooking their beautiful garden. It really was wonderful. You also were wanting for nothing in the rooms. Truly delightful.
Absolutely nothing to dislike at all
Wow! The architecture and ambiance stimulates the senses and new ideas. Excellent environment to relax.
The kitchen is beautiful but not practical. Would have been great to have a few pots to cook and make a light meal. One stove top either gas or electricity would have been great. We love to cook and prepare a meal together when on holiday.
amazing estate, lot to explore with great attention to lovely details (garden, art), farm shop (try their olive oil and jams) and animals (ankole cattle); very friendly staff!
All the little details

What a find in Bloemfontein ! Beautiful to the eye and so comfortable, love the farm produce available !
This is the finest establishment in the Free State and many other provinces I wish there were more of this standard
Beautiful gardens, stunning rooms full of character , friendly and welcoming service
An oasis in the Free State, classy and pleasant. Beautiful environment!
Gardens are beautiful!!! Everything is very neat and clean!
There are block out curtains in front of the sliding door, but windows just below the roof has blinds which makes the room light as soon as the sun rises.
to much
Maybe the view in the room. Not that private!
Very quite place to stay.

My forever sleepover in Bloemfontein, I will never pass again! It is a gem and the gardens are unique and perfectly manicured! The decor and interior was definately professionally designed. THANK YOU THANK YOU
This is a wonderful place just on the outskirts of Bloem. It far exceeded my expectations in terms of design, service, decor, beautiful grounds and gardens, and lovely food. Will be seeking to stay again in the future.
It was a pleasant stay. Staff friendly. Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast excellent.
We were 2 guests but only given 1 bath towel. Cleaning girl enter our suite 3 times without knocking to clean our room in the morning. The third time I explained that we will only be leaving our room at 11am after which she could clean. Dark in shower.
The gardens are absolutely stunning! The birdsong was delightful and I enjoyed cooling off in the pool. The Plum Cottage was lovely and very private.
Dinner and breakfast were enjoyable overall, but I did feel they were a little expensive for what was offered. The food was beautifully presented and the salad and cheese soufflé were delicious, although the meat was dry and could have been more flavourful. I would have enjoyed a few more savoury options to accompany the bread at dinner, for example some cheese to pair with the figs. Breakfast was tasty, but again felt somewhat pricey. It was also a little unusual for a premium establishment to have to choose between juice or coffee. Lastly, as a single traveller I would have appreciated the option to order wine by the glass, instead of having to buy a bottle.
Beautiful landscaping, wonderful staff and excellent breakfast.
Lovely ambience, great attention to detail, beautiful branded linen, great dinner and breakfast

The uniqueness of the place
Did not have breakfast at your place
We did not like the room with the open toilet. Especially not for a couple sharing a room. We will make sure we ask for a room with a private bathroom/toilet.
Beautiful and peaceful. Attention to detail, garden and overall experience super!
