Location is excellent and the area feels very safe. The room we stayed in is spacious and offered things like a full size kettle (with coffee/tea/bottle water), good storage spaces, multiple windows that brightens the room and spacious bathroom with a full size bathtub.

Perhaps a better display/storage for the pastry and fruit in the breakfast room.

The property was a beautiful restored Victorian, it was in a very good location. Was walkable to the downtown core and also to the boardwalk waterfront area. The breakfast was delicious with several options on the menu. The beds were very comfortable and the Inn was very quiet for sleeping. The staff were very friendly.

We had trouble with our television the first night but staff came and fixed it for us, although there weren’t many channels for watching.

Location is perfect. Very spacious room. Very clean. Good breakfast options.

Room servicing was inconsistent. Facilities in room were missing some basics, ie, mugs and tea provided but no spoons or milk. Staff very friendly and helpful, however, some staff’s command of English was not good.

A lovely unique B&B within easy walking distance of the city centre, yet set in a very quiet neighbourhood. The hosts were great, very friendly and helpful. Included breakfast was great, and our queen room was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend No.1 Grafton Inn to anyone wanting a base for PEI exploration.

The breakfast was lovely and the staff were kind. Our room was spacious and generally clean. Enjoyed the extra cleaning the room got during the day while we were out. The location was very good and allowed us to walk to most places down town.

There were some areas of our guest room that could have used some extra attention. The side tables beside the bed were dusty, the curtain loops were broken in a couple areas along the rod (which didn’t matter functionally, but didn’t look the greatest), and the tub just needed to be cleaned out. Both times we used the jets little brown bits of stuff came out. There is also a little bit of blackening in one of the bottom corners of the shower. We would stay here again, but would try to book a different room. We didn’t realize that we had booked the only room on the main floor, right down the hallway from the kitchen, which could be quite noisy in the mornings. It woke us up a few times. It may be good for that room to have some noise cancelling strips added to the door frame to seal it better from the noise.

We had the third floor room with was the attic. It was like a suite loved it !

The hosts were incredibly sweet warm and welcoming. The location was perfect to be able to walk to many places in Charlottetown and drive to many places in the surrounding area. We had a lovely time and will be back for sure!

Staff were very kind, check in was easy and the effort to make our stay comfortable was appreciated. The breakfast was reasonable and it was very nice to have things freshly prepared for us.

It is an old house which is lovely, however it does make for thin walls.

The breakfast each morning were very good. Included fresh fruit, pastries, juice, and egg omelets, French toast! The location is excellent, walking distance to everything.

Somewhat dated, exterior could use a paint job. Bathroom could use repairs on tub area that has rotted from a water leak.

Absolutely lovely! Staff was so easy to work with and took care of every detail. It was like stepping back in time, which is what we wanted. We had such a great time. Loved the tub was separate from the shower, and the towels were white, clean and SOFT! I slept in the folding bed and it was very comfortable and was ready for me when we first arrived. Room and facility was very, very clean. Location was perfect.

The property was very pretty, however the major problem was the humidity. The comforter smelled extremely moist—like wet dog. I carry a little thermometer with the humidity levels as I have respiratory issues and the room was over 70% humidity level. That’s dangerous. (Normal is 30-50%.) The smell of the comforter was disgusting so I couldn’t get a decent night’s rest. There were no people at the property who could have brought me a new comforter as I went to bed around midnight and no one was at the front desk pretty much the whole day we were there. I’d had the air conditioning on which normally helps bring humidity down, but our unit didn’t work. It wasn’t cooling at all and I was there in July during a heat wave in PEI. Not ideal. The shower also didn’t work properly. It was very tricky and I’m glad the guy who checked me in told me the “trick.” Overall this place has potential but I was very disappointed in these things. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve stayed other places in PEI much better for this price point.

The humidity, absence of staff and no working air conditioning unit. I loved their shampoo and conditioner and took a photo to buy for my home and found out they’re under recall. But to be fair, they probably didn’t realize that.

Good location for walking to see the main sights. We had a lovely, large room on the first floor adjacent to the dining area. AC worked very well, bed was pretty comfy. Staff was helpful.

Paint was peeling on the outside of the building and spider webs in the bathroom…it was too bad, because it is a cool property that needs a little more attention.

A historic home in the most exquisite neighborhood around the corner (literally) from museums, the boardwalk and the governors house, this former lieutenant governors house is a dream. Recently refurbished, we enjoyed the attic suite with huge beds and luxury finishes and amenities. Breakfast is delicious and so professionally plated, and we enjoyed the beautiful porch and garden. The owners are warm, efficient, and helpful. It is the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed with 5-star toiletries and room fridge/ coffee/appliances. Highlight of our trip through 4 provinces so far

Historic, very clean, quiet, great location, comfortable beds, very nice and considerate staff, and special offerings for breakfast on our last day. The Chinese pancakes and dumplings were great!

The couch could be improved (uncomfortable and squeaks). Breakfasts were good and portions sensible: a slightly larger variety that doesn’t include grain based offerings would be appreciated.

Jonathan, Joyce (the proprietors) and their team were incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Staying here was like staying with family. Probably the best hotel/boarding house we have experienced to date. Close to the waterfront and just a leisurely walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. Could not recommend this place more.

Nothing - everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. If I had to make one observation is that an elevator would have been appreciated as my daughter has mobility issues however, this is an historic building so probably not possible to install. We knew this when booking so did not dampen our experience.

The location was absolutely perfect. Just a couple of minutes walk to the beautiful boardwalk type path in Victoria Park along the water. Quiet neighborhood. Uptown was only a 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants. Everything about this area was lovely. Johnathan, Joyce the hosts along with their family and friends were terrific and very accommodating. Loved the whole 5 day experience.

We could not think of anything we didn’t like.

I am not one to complain but No 1 Grafton needs a ton of work. The outside was in very poor condition, the property was full of dead shrubs, lawn was full of weeds. The inside, although beautiful as a historic property also needs work. Our king suite was odd…separated by what looked like two rooms with the bathroom at one end and the bed/sitting area at the other. There was multiple dust “bunnies” in the bathroom and under tables. The king bed, although comfortable was not finished. The mattress and boxspring were exposed. Why was there no bedskirt? Not that this is a big deal but for the money we expected more. The breakfast was not good at all. It was more cafeteria style than anything. Industrial coffee urn was on a table so you could get your own coffee, orange juice was beside it in the store bought bottle, to get on your own, the bread station had store bought white and brown bread, to make on your own and cups of store bought yogurt again to get on your own. We had a choice of breakfast from eggs to French toast and bacon. We ordered our breakfast and my wife received her order. FIVE minutes later my breakfast arrive and was cold. There is no attention to customer service and we didn’t stay for breakfast on day two. I did reach out to Johnathan who was quick to reply, however indicated that we had a different perspective on my concerns and offered to refund us for the breakfast…as he said “a gesture of goodwill”. I was insulted with the compensation. I hope that booking.com as well as Canada Selects reads this review as I wouldn’t want to have my name associated with this property.

The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great! Nice staff !

The location was great for easy access to the Victoria Park boardwalk along the waterfront and some restaurants. Other restaurants and theaters were just a short drive away. Breakfast was good, though an omelet one day was crepe-like thin and meagre, but better by a different chef on the second day. The room was very large and comfortable, though a small desk would have been a nice addition for laptop use.

The room was more than we expected. The bed was the most comfortable. The heritage home was welcoming by the staff and so clean. I just loved it wish I could stay longer ... thank you for a wonderful experience.

We had a very nice welcome. The old house is beautifully presented with a good balance between the traditional and the modern. It is situated in a lovely street near the waterfront and close to the town centre restaurants. Breakfast was served in the elegant dining room and was freshly cooked with a lovely fruit plate.

The breakfast was lovely both in presentation and quality, and the dining room makes for a great experience. The room we stayed in was also wonderful and our hosts were especially welcoming and helpful.

L’auberge est très belle et est située dans un quartier tranquille, entourée d’autres très belles, grandes maisons anciennes. Nous avons pu marcher facilement jusqu’au centre-ville, pour magasiner et manger dans les restaurants. La chambre était parfaite pour nous accueillir, 4 amies, pendant deux soirs. Il y avait beaucoup d’espace où ranger nos valises et tous nos articles, tout en laissant beaucoup d’espace dégagé pour circuler confortablement. L’accès à une cafetière et une bouilloire pour le thé dans nos chambres ainsi qu’à deux autres endroits dans l’auberge était vraiment plaisant! Enfin, les employés sont discrets et très gentils. Les déjeuners sont simples, juste assez pour bien commencer la journée (fruits, œuf, pain, yogourt). Ce fut vraiment une très belle fin de semaine!

Beautiful exterior and even more wonderful interior! The hardwood floors throughout the house were very well maintained and hardly squeaky for the age! The attic suite was so dreamy, the beds and duvets as soft as clouds and the clawfoot bathtub was so spacious and magical!

Location was great! Close to waterfront, beautiful homes, tourist attractions and restaurants. Owners were super helpful and friendly.

Property is good but missing on afew details. The outside appearance is lovely but looks to need some painting on the trim work. Rubber mats were coming of the steps. On the inside there looks to be some issues either trim around the bath tub ( it was bowing and in need of caulking)

The house was beautiful and our room was exceptional. We had the attic room with the King and Queen bed. The bathroom was lovely and quite large with an old fashioned tub. The proprietors were very welcome and attentive. Breakfast was delicious from the fresh fruit at the start to the made to order eggs and French toast choices. Highly recommend this warm, welcoming Inn.

La maison est dans un quartier agréable à quelques minutes de marche des rues pietonnes et animées et pas loin du port. L'accueil est attentionné et nous avons eu une grande chambre au calme. La chambre était plus jolie que sur les photos! Nous avons très bien dormi et le petit déjeuner était vraiment très bon. Tout est frais et fait maison. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit pour son calme et le confort de la maison.
