We got 2 connected rooms as we asked and it was basically one big suite that suited perfectly our needs. Breakfast was great. Location was near the lake and not far from the weekend market.

Our stay at the GRAND HOTEL du LAC Hanoi was remakable - we stayed there for our family vacation in Hanoi and traveled from there to other destinations in Vietnam. Our rooms were always ready for us, our luggage was stored between our travels and we got help with anything we needed. Camellia did above and beyond to make sure we had a great vacation.

The hotel has very comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They offered excellent restaurant recommendations and even upgraded my room free of charge. Special thanks to Erin and Hong Quan for making my stay so enjoyable.

Quick summary, Fantastic clean hotel, with amazing staff who work to make your stay special. Vegetarian and gluten free breakfast options. Great spa and rooftop bar and pool. Close to attractions. A perfect sanctuary from the busy streets of Hanoi. We were made to feel welcome and like we had a second home. This was a fantastic hotel. So good wevstayed twice in our trip. Perfect location to see old town and french quarter sites, shopping and eating. The staff were very, kind, professional and attentive. They were happy to help advise and arrange tickets and drivers. They even found me a reliable place to have my backpack fixed after the strap broke. The stand out members were Lilly and Mr Jack. But, every staff member was a credit to the hotel. They also had great vegetarian breakfast options. Also, they took my wife's celiac seriously but without any fuss ensuring she started the day with good gluten free breakfast options. The hotel also has a nice bar and small lessure pool on the roof we didn't end up using. However, we can recommend the message service. The masseuses were clearly highly experienced. And like the rest of the hotel the spa was well maintained and clean.

We genuinely didn't have any negative about this stay. It was perfect.

Our trip to Hanoi was made truly unforgettable by the incredible team here. Every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond to look after us with such kindness. Great location a short walk to the lake, nice street but still good for shopping in the old town. Lovely staff, always keen to help or have a chat. Nicely furnished. Good rooftop pool and bar. Great breakfast. Worth paying for a room with a street view

Restaurant was quite expensive

Location, cleanliness, decor, pool, breakfast, pool bar and restaurant all excellent. The standout feature at this hotel is the staff. You are greeted with a big smile at the grand entrance by Roy who demonstrates professionalism and care. Erin and Camilla have a vast knowledge of tourist options and continually asking guests if there is anything they need. The concierge manager Lilly takes guest care to a top level. My credit card got swallowed up at an ATM. I just happened to mention it to Lilly as I was passing the front desk. She said "leave it to me" and then called the bank. Within a few hours the bank came to the hotel to return my card. This level of professionalism I have never experienced before. If you are looking for great amenities with staff that are upbeat and professional then this is the hotel for you.

The Hotel was clean. The Brunch was really tasty and fresh. The staff was polite and kind especially Roy who helped us in many ways.

The staff were absolutely amazing and accomodating. Shoutout to Hong for his help with everything and his fantastic food recommendations! The breakfast selection was vast and fantastic quality! Our room was lovely and exceptionally clean when we arrived. The view from the pool was fantastic and the rooftop bar and restaurant had fantastic food and drinks. The location was perfect too! When we had an issue with our rooms air con, the team were very quick to investigate and fix and notified us as soon as it was sorted.

Honestly, this place genuinely exceeded our expectations in all aspects.

La piscine terrasse offre une très belle vue sur Hanoi et la Cathédrale Saint Joseph et permet d’assister le soir à un spectaculaire et fascinant coucher de soleil. Le petit déjeuner est généreux avec une jolie vue sur la ville. Le spa, au sous sol, est d’une qualité irréprochable et les soins sont grandement appréciables. Bref, tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour en faire un très bel hôtel. Mais ce qui rend totalement exceptionnel le Grand Hôtel du Lac ce sont l’excellence, la disponibilité et la gentillesse de l’équipe. Qu’il s’agisse du fabuleux concierge, des hôtes et réceptionnistes d’exception, des portiers ou du personnel de restauration au petit déjeuner, je n’ai jamais connu un accueil aussi chaleureux humainement et professionnellement efficace. La chose est suffisamment rare pour être vivement soulignée. Nous avons passé huit nuits au Grand Hôtel du Lac et l’avons quitté avec un mélange de joie et de tristesse : la joie d’un séjour si doux, si agréable, la tristesse de quitter une équipe aussi chaleureuse et amicale. Vivement d’y revenir !

I was staying with my daughter for one night as a layover from London to Tokyo. The pick-up from the airport was seamless and very reasonably priced. The location was prefect - less than 2 minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake. My daughter wanted to stay in the hotel and enjoy the spa services and had 4 hours of first rate treatments - again very reasonable. In the evening we enjoyed mocktails (delicious) in the rooftop bar and had dinner in the restaurant - my daughter's pho was amazing. We had to leave at 5:30am the next day to catch a flight to Tokyo and the hotel arranged a car for us. Because this was before the official breakfast time, they prepared a packed breakfast for us to eat at the airport. We totally enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Our first hotel of our Southeast Asia trip, and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, everything was 5/5. The highlight was without a doubt the staff, everyone knew our names, gave us fantastic recommendations, and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. The level of service was exceptional and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The hotel was also exceptionally clean, the room was beautifully maintained, and the breakfast was absolutely brilliant, easily a 10/10. A huge thank you to the entire team at Grand Hotel du Lac Hanoi for making the start of our trip so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better first hotel in Southeast Asia and would happily stay here again!

Great location for exploring Hanoi, clean and comfortable rooms, nice breakfast, and amazing staff that go above and beyond.

Make sure you check what kind of room you book, some have “internal windows” only without natural light (but not an issue if you plan on exploring Hanoi all day anyway :) )

Super hotel. Pas trop grand. Très bien situé. Le personnel est charmant. Service personnalisé. Belles chambres. Très agréable (petite) piscine sur le toit avec magnifique vue sur la cathédral. Idem pour le bar. Sublime petit dejeuner (dans une salle lumineuse et non pas, comme souvent, en sous-sol).

Prix un peu élevé des prestations supplémentaires (restaurant, massages...). Mais très bonne qualité.

If I have to say anything I would just say that restaurant was very warm but the staff ensured we had fans if it was too hot

Loved the staff. Everyone was amazing. Especially Camelia and Luna. I travelled with my toddler and everyone was very kind to him. The rooms were good. The pool was small but quiet. Breakfast was amazing! Location was brilliant.

Al het personeel is zo enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ik was een (hele specifieke) oplader vergeten in Japan en zij hebben stad en land afgezocht en deze uiteindelijk voor mij gevonden en laten bezorgen. Toen ik aangaf dat ik graag een voetbalwedstrijd wilde bezoeken had ik de volgende dag kaartjes! We hebben genoten van ons verblij en gebruik gemaakt van het fijne zwembad en de gym. Normaal schrijf ik niet vaak reviews, maar voor dit hotel en het geweldige personeel maak ik graag een uitzondering.

The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious food and fresh options every morning. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, and every little detail is carefully thought out. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore Hanoi and all the main attractions. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so special. I had a fantastic time, and if I ever return to Hanoi, I will definitely stay at Grand Hôtel du Lac Hanoi again. Highly recommended!

Superbe hôtel à taille humaine avec un service personnalisé. Magnifiquement situé à deux pas du lac Hoan Kiem. Très beau rooftop avec vue sur la cathédrale Saint-Joseph. Piscine de petite taille mais très agréable (très belle vue). Personnel charmant et très attentionné.

Les tarifs des extras (massages, bar, restaurant) sont sensiblement supérieurs à la moyenne.

The staffs at the hotel are excellent from doorman,receptionist,restaurant to cleaning staffs. Everyone is very helpful and gave us all information we needed during the stay. We decided to stay another night purely the hotel feels like home away home.

מלון יפה במרכז קרוב לכל מקום, מיקום מעולה, כל צוות העובדים במלון נתן לנו שירות יוצא מן הכלל, כולם עשו מעל ומעבר בכדי לעזור לנו בכל מה שצריך. ארוחת בוקר טריה וטעימה, אווירה נעימה ויוקרתית. סה"כ נהננו מאוד מהאירוח במלון .

חדרים מעט קטנים וטיפה חשוכים, מומלץ להזמין חדר עם חלון מאשר חדר פנימי שפחות מאוורר. אבל ממש לא נורא, היה כיף להתארח במלון.

Wonderful and attentive staff. Chloe and Jennie took excellent care of our family making the most effort to ensure we felt comfortable and spoilt during our stay. The restaurant is delicious and a great above city level oasis, beers especially cold which was rare but welcomed in the Hanoi heat. Rooms are a good size and the family adjoining rooms were excellent. Location is great for people watching, shopping or a drink stop to watch the passing by street scenes.

Pool is smaller than a typical hotel, but as rooftop it’s to be expected.
