The Dawson House Bed & Breakfast

Lovely hostess. Comfortable room. I would recommend the Captains room that has a nice balcony to enjoy a morning coffee or evening night cap (note: the bathroom is across the hall) Delicious breakfasts. 20 minute walk to downtown.

Everything was wonderful.

Our host, Donna, was thorough in greeting us with instructions on alarm system, comforts, and amenities. Great job with breakfast each day and baked goods in the afternoon. Location was perfect for walking into town and Victoria Park. Adequate parking.

More interaction with other guests. The parlor was not used by anyone but me. Of course, this is more a reflection on other guests rather than the host.

Beautiful property. Donna was lovely and takes a pride in what she does and how she presents everything

Nothing

Gentillesse de l'hôte, recommandations pertinantes, qualité de la nourriture, propreté

Le lit était équipé d'un surmatelas pour protéger le matelas mais cela rendait les draps très humide ce qui a été très inconfortable

Interesting house. Good location.

Description did NOT state that the bathroom was across the hall from our bedroom. Not relaxing because of many quirky rules. Flat pillows. Old TV that didn't project volume well. Balcony had cheap chairs and no tables. Outdoor furniture was covered and it's summer.

The b&b is amazing. It’s an upscale B&B in an authentic Victorian house with a great host! The host welcomed us very professionally and gave us excellent restaurants recommendations! She also prepared freshly prepared breakfast , which as a great opportunity to mingle with other visitors.

Donna was an excellent hostess during our stay. Charming house.

Beautiful house full of antiques. Well appointed bedrooms with all the comforts you could want. A very gracious and friendly host. She made us feel so comfortable. Helpful suggestions on where to tour on the island. Breakfasts were amazing - even accommodating special requests for my daughter. Highly recommend.

Property is very pretty and very clean. Location is great for walking to Charlottetown. The owner was a wealth of information.

My only complaint was that I had to shut off the a/c while I blow dried my hair. It happened to be very hot one of the days.

The check in was quick and thorough, Donna was very down to earth and pleasant . She runs a beautiful Old Victorian house that is so clean and comfortable. It’s extremely welcoming from the first step you take inside the foyer. Breakfast was delicious and the conversation around the table with the other guests and Donna was great! It’s really a small world when you get chatting. We haven’t been BnB guests in the past, but this trip to the east coast has changed our way of thinking.

The breakfast was so nice - the food was delicious, but the other guests and the hostess, Donna, were lovely and we enjoyed spending time just chatting and hearing other travel tips and thoughts. The location was a bit out of the "thick"of Queen St., but we liked the quick drive (2 minutes on a rainy day) or 15 minute walk through the town or along the harbor. It was wonderfully quiet on River Road and that was nice. We had a private balcony, which we enjoyed in the evening.

Nothing!!

Excellent and comfortable stay. Breakfast was delicious. This is centrally located and close to everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely stay at beutiful heritage residence in charlottetown.very clean comfy and welcoming. Close to a gorgeous seawall park walk.

The Dawson House is beautifully decorated 4 bedroom B & B. The rooms are very comfortable and include a TV and a very nice bath and shower. I think that the bath also doubled as a hot tub, however, we did not use it as such. The host, Donna, is lovely and very accommodating. She prepared the wonderful breakfasts for us and provided useful recommendations for dinners and for places to visit. She was generous in allowing us to use her laundry facilities. The location is within walking distance to restaurants and the main downtown area.

Nothing

Clean, comfortable and close to Queen Street, restaurants and shopping. Donna put on an amazing breakfast for us each morning that carried us thru until dinner!! Donna also has great suggestions for where to go and what to see. We enjoyed sitting on our private outdoor deck for our own happy hour our last night. 😃

No complaints.

Breakfast was home made and served with elegance. Our hostess, Donna, was wonderful and very knowledgeable of places to visit. Bed was comfortable, internet access was secure and we had our own transportation but most of the downtown is walkable if you are able. We would certainly recommend the Dawson House as a go to place to stay.

Fijne B&B in heel mooi Victoriaans pand.

Delightful 1800s home, roomy and comfortable room, bed, etc. Good location in Charlottetown, close to the city center while also easily accessible from the countryside. Charming host who shared numerous good recommendations of things to see and places to eat. Delicious breakfasts. Highly recommended, we will be back

Clean and comfortable vintage B&B that’s walkable to the historic downtown. Hostess Donna, was extremely friendly and helpful! Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Would recommend.

Great property

I had a wonderful stay and the host was great!

Donna, the owner and our hostess, was a treat. Friendly greeting when we arrived, quickly checked us in, gave us info and a map with reco on where to go and what to do. Our room was quite large and very comfortable. I slept like a log! The homemade hot breakfast was delicious. The home's decor is lovely. Great front porch for sitting awhile. Highly recommend.

Excellent place, location and host. Breakfast was good. A good shower soap is needed.

The property was spotless, the years very welcoming and the location perfect for exploring PEI. Donna, our host, was very helpful and her breakfasts were amazing.

The only thing we didn’t like (but ended up being a non-issue) was that the bathrooms for two of the rooms were across the hall, but they supply robes, bathrooms can be locked and wasn’t a problem.

We had a wonderful stay! The property was spotless, comfortable, and ideally located close to downtown—making it easy to explore the area. Donna was a fantastic host—warm, welcoming, and full of great local tips. We felt right at home and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

It was an unbelievable property! Our room was to die for… Donna is one of the best hostesses you could ask for… breakfasts were unbelievable! I can’t say enough about the property or the accommodations! I would recommend to anyone going to Charlottetown!

Absolutely lovely, heritage home! Donna makes you feel like you are at home with a wonderful hot breakfast. And if you have to leave early, she will pack you an excellent snack. Beautiful location, close to many histroic sites in town.

Lovely location and beautiful home!

The house is charming, and the hostess (Donna) very gracious. Breakfasts (homemade) were also excellent. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The garden is also lovely. It is a 15-20 minute walk from downtown Charlottetown, which is doable. (The only negative was climbing 4 sets of stairs to get to our room on the third floor.) Otherwise, great!

We had a lovely stay at this historic B&B. The house is very well-maintained and modern, the innkeeper engaging without being overbearing. It is about a half mile walk to town or a 5 min car ride.

The house itself is beautiful. We especially enjoyed the private balcony adjoining our room. Our host Donna made our stay enjoyable with her tour recommendations, her delicious breakfasts and the friendly atmosphere that she created.

Very nice B& B. Well kept and beautifully decorated. Great hostess. Wonderful breakfast.

We had such a lovey stay at Dawson house! Donna is very thoughtful and sweet, she is very welcoming, provided an excellent restaurant recommendation and made a delicious breakfast. We liked the room decor and the bed. The bed sheets were very comfy. The Dawson house has a sunning decor inside! It is kept very well. Don’t forget to try the pumpkin loaf!!

Thank you for a wonderful stay! Everything was perfect.

Excellent host,Donna.Excellent breakfast (she rotates 5 different breakfasts).Excellent location easy to get too from the airport Built in 1865 therefore slated ceilings in bedrooms( watch your head,)needs small refig in bedrooms

Great hostess. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful historical property. Walkable to restaurants and Victoria park.

This is a lovely house, in a nice part of Charlottetown. Donna, the owner is a gracious host, and the breakfasts she provided were fabulous. The rooms are very nicely decorated, but our bed, while comfortable was very bouncy. You couldn't rollover without disturbing your partner. The bathroom was functional, but could use a bit of a makeover. It was a big step into the shower tub. Charlottetown is grossly overpriced, but given that, Dawson House while no bargain, is fairly priced.

Owner friendliness, cleanliness and a great breakfast made our stay pleasant. Our 3rd floor room size was cozy and the stairs were a little slippery.

Great property, close to downtown so you can walk if you want.

An exceptionally nice B&B in a very beautiful historical building. We had a room with our own balcony ("the Captain's Room"), which we can really recommend. There is also a communal sitting room and access to tea and coffee at any time of the day. Everything was absolutely clean and furniture and decorations were very tasteful and in perfect harmony with the architecture. It is apparent that the hostess, Donna, pays great attention to detail. She was always there when we had any questons and was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, too. We definitely recommend the Dawson House - a great base to explore PEI!

Lovely home. Donna, the proprietor, is very accommodating and welcoming.

Wonderful experience. Our hostess was helpful and prepared fabulous breakfasts each morning.

Beautiful home and property, and the location was amazing! Minutes from downtown and a five minute walk to beautiful Victoria Park and the waterfront. Lots of room indoors & out to relax.

Excellent breakfast! Over the top cleanliness of room and the entire home. Very friendly owner. Loved the fact that she sat in during breakfast and socialized with guests. Perfect location, walkable to town and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend Dawson House

It was just like the photos, super charming with a homey feel

Nothing

The house retains its unique charm and style. It is definitely a place to experience when visiting the area.

A lovely home with a lovely host.

Break fast was okay. Location was excellent

Donna is a great host. Very friendly. Found the house to be very comfortable.

Our stay was wonderful. Donna was a kind, caring, knowledgeable host. She made you feel so comfortable in her home. The home was beautiful. The grounds were so nice for sitting . The beds are so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing each day. It is a short 15 minute walk into town. The area is very pretty. Coffee, tea, water available each day. She also has something sweet for nibbling. I definitely would recommend this bed and breakfast in Charlottetown, PEI.

Donna is a superb host— we added a day to our trip because we didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful home. Great host providing quality breakfasts and good info regarding the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

Donna was a superb hostess, and treated her guest like royalty. She provided us with a sense of calming energy during our stay. The entire property was exquisitely maintained, and we had the good fortune of sharing breakfast with two ladies from the Boston area, where conversation and laughs were encouraged. We cannot praise this B&B highly enough, as we did not want to leave. We will be back again - no question.
