I am a Southern sun frequent guest, it was my first time receiving a phone call after two hours I entered my room the lady who was calling said 'it's a courtesy call. Wow Garden Court Mthatha you are amazing, friendly staff, clean rooms, your garden, dinner and breakfast, I mean everything is perfect at garden Court.

One of food chains couldnt deliver as I tried to place order. They stated that you are not listed as the address they could deliver to.

The breakfast as a delicious and extensive daily highlight, and the location as a convenient, safe and accessible stopover.

At the Mthatha garden court frequently note that loyalty reward discount do not apply when ordering room service.

Reception was welcoming and friendly. The cleanliness of the room was out of the question. Overall, the condition of the room was good, with availability of Snacks, friendly staff, Tasty food, and the ease of ordering food

Absence of Microwave, Shower doesn't fully close, water splashing everywhere, Toilet brush had to be requested instead of being there as a standard, Iron and Ironing Board had to be requested instead of being there.

The noise coming from the rooms down the passage, I couldn’t sleep well at all

Room was spacious and had everything you need for a one night stay. Bathroom had a very good shower. Breakfast and Dinner was good with enough variety. Location is good next to the N2 but in the room you are not aware of any traffic. Gardens and swimming pool are well maintained. We enjoyed our one night stay.

It’s a property that holds great and sentimental value for me as I grew up in Mthatha The reception staff is very friendly and welcoming especially Mihlali.

1. When we arrived there was only one bottle of still water and there is no option of sparkling whereas they cost the same amount. 2. The carpet is very dirty it needs some TLC 3. We were at Rm 115 please ask them to check the plumbing cause there was an unacceptable smell coming from there 4. On Sunday we went for breakfast and when we were at the dinning hall door we were turned away due to the fact that sleepers are regarded as a sleep wear. We were puzzled by this cause we always use this hotel and no such has ever been communicated nor posted somewhere so that this is well known and is adhered to . We then tried to speak to the lady at the door (Zanele) but she insisted that no sleepers are allowed. My husband took them off and was told that no bare foot situation is allowed. I tried to calm the situation but the lady said “she doesn’t set regulations and rules so we then asked for the Manager (Dumalisile) things went from bad to worse. She was back talking and shouting at the customer. Yes I understand that it is not right for her to be shouted at but for the sake of the other customers eating in the hall she fuelled the whole unfavourable scene and situation. I am so disappointed and angry at the way the Manager conducted herself on duty.

The treatment we got from a lady there was very bad , as we were preparing for my daughter’s matric dance, she was so annoyed did not want us to take pics, because there was a public figure there, for which that person had no problem , we all paid money to be there, we expect equal treatment

The welcome note in my room was addressed to a "Mr", I am a female.

The shower had a blockage and the toilet they left a small roll .and there not enough coffee in the room. When I requested the iron I took an hour then I hand to call again to get it .

Lovely staff and made my 80 years old grandmom first hotel experience amazing - the food was Delicious and the fresh complimentary birthday cake was fresh and nice

Staff telephone etiquette was so poor I had to be transferred to someone else to assist me with my booking. Staff was loud in the dining hall while we’re seated for Breakfast that was unprofessional! The room service took forever to get to my hotel room. I asked for an iron to one of the staff member and they just left it by my door with no knock or any sort of indication. I only had to open the door to check after waiting for a while for it.

The hotel is peaceful and relaxing. I really enjoyed the modern room design, the great breakfast, and the friendly staff.

I searched for 2 rooms for 2 adults, the results came out for 1 room, 2 adults and i booked it gast without checking. It was a system glitch, had to pay for another room when I got there. Hotel insisted that standard rooms were booked out and I could only get an executive room obviously at a high price. I went on booking.com and got a standard room. Onsite restaurant supper has no value for money. Breakfast ..... coffee machine was broken.

The staff were amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and fresh.

Das Hotel hatte eine gute und sichere Lage und viele Parkplätze. Unser Zimmer war renoviert, damit modern und geräumig/komfortabel und hatte eine angenehme Beleuchtung. Die Dusche war angenehm groß und hatte eine Handbrause, was ich in anderen Unterkünften in Südafrika vermisst habe. Das Personal war überaus freundlich. Und die Lage direkt an der N2 ist sehr gut. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Besonders die Qualität des Kaffees. Abends konnten wir uns das Buffet anschauen und anschließend entscheiden, ob wir dies nutzen oder à la carte essen möchten. Wir entschieden uns für letzteres. Geschmacklich war es in Ordnung. Thelma war sehr freundlich und brachte uns mit ihrer Art oft zum Lächeln. Danke für den guten Service.

Auf einer Bettseite war kein Stromanschluss. Wir waren im Zimmer 123 und es roch abends kurzzeitig nach Zigarette, morgens roch es nach Essen.

Dress code restrictions at breakfast made our stay a little uncomfortable when the hostess requested my teenage daughter to go change her clothes as the short skirt she was wearing was not welcomed and was seen as inappropriate. That did not sit well with us as guests.

For the first time in this hotel I received welcoming snacks brought to my room on arrival ☺️. The room, linen etc was clean. It was home away from home. The grounds the pool the dining room.. everything was clean. Big ups to the management and the team.

Noise 😨 of guests coming in to their rooms at 3am who were shouting at each other was unwelcome. I'm a light sleeper so it kept me up the whole time. Security needs to be available on the floors for these kind of disturbances.
