FOX ON THE HOE - Luxury Apartment accommodation

Location is excellent and the standard of the furnishings and decor are high. The apartment is well equipped and it feels as though a lot of thought has gone into what guests want and need.

Perfect location for a theatre trip and exploring the Hoe. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and the extra special treat of a rooftop balcony. Great communication throughout.

The room didn't have air conditioning. Would have been nice to have the option in the hot weather.

We thought we would have a sea view but the apartment was in the basement level. I don’t remember this being made clear in the booking process. It was lovely, just no view…

We had expected a sea view so if you book ensure that you are booking a room with a view. We made an error. We were at the back of the building with a view of the road behind. Small double bed. Bathroom is down a level from the bedroom.

We had a very pleasant stay in this apartment. It was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable that we slept really well throughout our stay.

The only small downside is that you can sometimes hear footsteps from the apartment above. Also, since the apartment is truly on the ground floor, there isn’t really a view from the windows.

The penthouse was fantastic! It was well equipped and very comfortable with amazing views. Thank you to Rana for being so welcoming and helpful.

The apartment was spotless, spacious and well equipped. It was hot and there isn’t any air conditioning, however there was a good fan provided which was fabulous at night. It was surprisingly quiet and we slept really well. The shower was fantastic as were the luxury towels. There was fresh milk in the fridge which is a lovely touch. Having stayed in Plymouth several times we haven’t returned to anywhere else, we will definitely come back here. The secure parking is also a big plus to staying here. We look forward to staying at Fox On The Hoe again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Being very picky ….. there were no biscuits!! There was fruit though.

If I had to pick one thing it would be that we were located on the bottom floor and could hear everyone that entered and exited the building and lift. But that’s just being picky.

The place was absolutely spotlessly clean. Amazing apartment and wish we were there longer as it’s the best place we’ve stayed at in Plymouth.

Great location in a beautiful, stately old building with direct frontage on Plymouth Hoe (although our view was over the town rather than the sea). The apartment had been well renovated so felt modern without losing the building’s charm. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - full kitchen, nice bathroom, good lounge/dining space. There was no aircon in our apartment but the windows opened wide to allow enough air flow to keep it cool enough despite the hot summer.

No sea view but we knew that from the beginning.

Host was great about immediately given us access to the room. Very nicely appointed room with roof deck. Sea views from the deck and main room. Location on the Hoe can't be beat.

Would be nice to have furniture on the roof deck (if possible).

This was a fantastic apartment in a great location. Everything was really excellent quality. Though there are no staff on site, they are easy to contact and were extremely helpful and communicative.

Loved the position and the views and the fact it was very modern in a lovely old building

Sofa was NOT comfortable. Beds were a little soft. Could also have had some personal touches like books, magazines, cards, dominoes etc. Was a little clinical.

You cannot beat the location. We stayed in the penthouse and it was glorious in the sunshine on the roof terrace. Extremely comfortable - never wanted for anything

Our whole stay from start to finish was superb! Our host Rana was so kind & welcoming! Everything was explained thoroughly. The apartment was immaculate, warm, and luxurious. We used all the amenities. Definitely deserves the high ratings.

We came fully prepared with my 2 elderly parents...but the shower in the bath was a slight issue...not a negative we just didnt think that through when booking! A few extra bin liners dishwasher tabs and kitchen roll also! No issues we just grabbed them from the shop.

What a beautiful apartment such luxury and a beautiful location.

All the different codes to put in the front door then the lift then the actual apartment but that’s what made it feel so secure.

A wonderful place to stay

I thought I had ordered a room with a view of the sea, as per the pictures on booking.com, unfortunately I was in another apartment with no views at all.

There was a portable fan which was quite old and didn’t really work that well. That’s it. That’s the only slightly negative thing I could think of.

The initial flat offered has some concerns regarding the utility of the duplex component. Also the accessibility to the duplex part was strife with challenges

This was a wonderful stay from start to finish, these are immaculate, spacious, stylish and well serviced apartments in a spectacular location on the hoe. Our hotel manager was amazing helping with private parking and personally posting home a pair of slippers we left behind!

The property was really nice and the views were incredible, although the second bedroom was very small and the bed wasn’t really suitable for 2 people but we made do. Other than that everything was great.

We were really disappointed with our arrival. We had agreed an early check in at 2pm, before arriving at the property around 2:40. We were told there would be a dedicated receptionist to help us check in, but when we range the bell no one was there. After a couple of minutes a cleaner opened the door, but was not expecting us at all and told us to wait outside and closed the door. It was raining, and we stood out in the rain for 10-15 mins with all our bags getting soaked. We called the contact numbers multiple times but no one answered and one of the phones was even disconnected. We rang the bell another 10 or so times just trying to get out of the rain when the cleaner eventually opened the door again and called the manager and gave us the phone. We spoke to the manager who apologised and said they were expecting to send us the entry details at 3pm, usual check in time, even though we had agreed a 2pm early check in a few weeks prior. Eventually we got in, and sent a message to the manager expressing our disappointment only to receive a simple apology text 5 hours later blaming the mistake on the manager. Overall very disappointing experience with the staff, although the property was lovely.
