The location of The Shore is very good -it is within walking distance of two of the major malls in the Capital. The swimming pools were well maintained as was the rest of the property. The views from the balcony are excellent. It was nice to have a hot shower available and a smart TV in the accommodation.

We advised the property that we would be arriving around 3.00AM as only night flights were available. I was told that "What you requested can't be arranged ahead of time but Borneotel The Shore KK by CHG said they'll do their best to accommodate you upon arrival. And "Our standard check-in time is 3 pm. Please be informed that early check-in is subject to availability on the day itself and there will be charges applied." A phone number was supplied. In the event, there were no staff on-site until 08.00 which tends to suggest they had no intention to accommodate us on arrival.

Location was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful but the wait for lift up to 22nd floor was too long, with cleaning service staff also using the same guest lifts for floor hopping, instead of using a very dirty & smelly service lift.

I filtered my booking.com choices to hotel only cos I wanted just a twin bedded room without the hassle of AirBnB registration & getting room key. I was surprised to find that Borneotel was another AirBnB but fortunately, the registration was fairly smooth, probably cos I did not require another set of rules for parking.

Location is great! Seaview is great. I like to sit and look out at the sea activities of the fishery port and boats, very therapeutic. I especially like the fact that this unit has separate bedrooms, both facing the sea. Me and my friend can hv our privacy without disturbing each other. High floor plus point. Has bedroom slippers. Downstairs have convenient store, burger king and Chinese restaurant. A spa shop is coming up next.

1. The instructions on the unit rules and how to operate the heater and switches could have send out earlier before or whilst check in, not 2hrs later. 2. On the 3rd day morning, the toilet corner starts to smell of sewage water. Though there's a air freshener placed there, it doesnt musked the smell. Maybe it's empty cos didn't smell the fragrance. 3. Could have put extra roll of toilet paper 4. The handwash and dish detergent was too watery.

No mirror. Only at the bathroom but enough for 1 person only. Please upgrade

The room was spacious, and the hotel’s strategic location makes it good value for money.

The lift does get crowded at times, which was expected, and queuing is sometimes necessary. Knowing the best times to use it when it’s less busy makes it fine overall.

Lift Susah mahu dapat setiap kali kalau nak turun bawah terpaksa kami sebagai Customer melalui Tangga yang ada.. kalau untuk naik keatas tidak ada masalah….

The room, the service is amazing because the owner really answering and act promptly.

Cleanliness is bad because there was so much guests during festive season and long holidays. Lift also very bad. Need to wait a lot and queing. Also water is slow in the morning because many guests.

Bilik nya bersih Dan kemas. Tempat penyimpanan baggage satu bilik khas banyak guna terutama sebagai seorang Muslim tempat saya solat. Layanan Dari pegawai Dan melalui hubungan WA bagus. Tempat yang selesa Dan punya internet tv Dan WIFI yang bagus.

1. Tidak ada service bell boy or person Dan bag carriage untuk nemudahkan baggage untuk dibawa kebilik Dan apabila pulang. 2. Untuk gunakan swimming pool ada pegawai yang banyak songeh sedangkan we are guest in your hotel and paying customer tidak payah diintegorasi cukup pakaian untuk mandi sesuai Dan tidak bogel. Terlalu restrictions. This is really a minus because we stayed to have fun with our family. 3. NO FREE PARKING. Very bad. We should have rights as your guest and customer to at least a free parking not the paying one. Please do improvement. 4. Housekeeping should be at least 2 or more days staying compliment of the hotel daily. 5. Air panas hanya berfungsi hari terakhir kami berada disana. Tidak mau reset srpanjang penginapan. 6. Tanda arah kiblat tidak ada

I like the view and facilities that were given. The room is so clean.

Kitchen is a bit lacking and also the Wi-Fi is too slow

Initial staff contact very brusque and unhelpful when asking questions about tea towels, extra supplies etc. Such as drinking glasses!. Although had more luck with different staff member who had to come and let us into apartment when key failed to open door!! Not suitable size apartment for 4 adults with suitcases even though advertised as such.

왓츠앱으로 소통 엄청 빨리 잘되구요 체크인.체크아웃 걱정했는데 소통 잘되서 원하는 시간에 했습니다. 화장실 냄새나는데 창문 열면 냄새 안나요 고층이라 창문 열어도 벌레 안들어오 오더라구요 방 넓고 침대 커서 편하게 잘 있다 왔어요 수영장도 무지 커요. 다 좋았음👍

El alojamiento no era el mismo que el de la foto.

Very close to the Waterfront but also to the main road and the shopping mall. Bathroom could have been cleaner and we were running out of hot water. It was okay for just one night.

El tema tovalloles. Nomes 1 de bany per persona i sense opcio a tovalloles per la piscina. Quan vam arribar estava en manteniment i no tornaven a obrir fins l'endema a les 10 del matí. Fan manteniment 3 cops per setmana. El bany necessita mes accessoris, no hi ha estantaries ni suficients penjadors per 4 persones. Mampara insuficienr. S'inunda tot l'espai

Piscine très sympa, belle vue et personnel serviable pour résoudre nos soucis d'internet

Manque d'insonorisation ; nous entendions beaucoup le bruit des avions. Manque de propreté : nous avons eu des cafards, un dans notre chambre, un dans le couloir. La lunette des toilettes était cassée. La douche était compliquée à utiliser. Absence totale d'équipement dans l'appartement (pas de raclette ni de balai dans la salle de bain, pas de verres dans la cuisine, manque de serviettes, aucun rangement, pas de liquide vaisselle etc) Enfin, gros gros problème de sécurité ! La 2ème nuit, un feu s'est déclaré à 1h30 du matin. Nous avons été réveillés par les cris extérieurs à l'immeuble et avons évacué notre chambre en urgence. Aucun dispositif d'alarme ne s'est déclenché, personne de l'hôtel ou de la police ou des pompiers ne s'est assuré que l'immeuble était évacué et la propriétaire du logement semble avoir été informée de la situation mais n'a pas pris la peine de nous prévenir. Le feu a été maîtrisé 2h plus tard et nous avons pu remonter dans nos chambres vers 4h du matin et heureusement aucun dégât, mais nous avons rencontré le lendemain des occupants qui n'étaient pas au courant de ce qui s'était passé et étaient restés dormir dans leurs chambres. Cela aurait pu être extrêmement grave. Nos enfants ont été très choqués.

De check-in verliep wat chaotisch, aangezien het ontzettend druk was in de lobby en we de contactpersoon niet konden vinden. Eenmaal de sleutel konden we opweg naar de 16e verdieping. Het appartement was ruim en netjes. Twee slaapkamers, een nette badkamer en in elke ruimte een airco. Keuken was prima, maar enkel voorzien van bestek voor vier personen, meer niet. Geen schaar, geen mes, geen kookplaat en geen broodrooster. Niet erg, maar het was wel handig geweest. De liften zijn tijdens spitsuur een drama. Lange rijen voor vier liften die 23 verdiepingen moeten bedienen. Locatie was perfect, alles wat je nodig hebt is op loopafstand.

Na een dag kwam er een vislucht uit het doucheputje die niet te harden was. Bleek uiteindelijk het riool te komen, maar was echt heel vies.

Great location - large room and very comfortable beds.

As there was no reception we were told to WhatsApp on arrival but there was no wifi in the lobby and we hadn't sorted out a local sim as yet it was a bit difficult to try and inform the staff we were there - luckily someone message on our behalf.

Room is as advertised and everything worked fine. Great location in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. Check in and check out process was smooth and easy with clear instructions provided for the room. Beds and linen were clean and comfortable to use. The car park was also smooth to navigate with contactless card payment which provided a safe place to park my car overnight. Thank you to Cindy for responding to my WhatsApp swiftly and apologise again for being 30min late to the agreed check in time.

The waiting time for the lifts especially during peak hour like check in and check out time was too long and many other guests also were not respectful of the queue so it was unpleasant to have to jostle for a space in the lift (Too little lifts serving a 25-storey building) But that's probably the building management's problem. Also, the bathroom door hinge needs to be lubricated as it is quite noisy to open and close.

Beds were very comfortable, room was clean. Company was good with communication. Location is good.

The use of the lift was tiring. Huge queues to go up and down and it stopped continuously making each exit or return to the apartment very long. Shower door was too small so water sprayed over the bathroom floor. The hot water was ‘warm’ and not hot. There was a sink and plates but no washing up materials.

- Cant access Lift straight away from car park of level 1-3. Have to use another elevator 1st then change to another elevator - Toilet smelly come out from drainage hole

I stayed at Borneotel for three nights and while the location is great and the room spacious, the cleanliness was a major letdown. I was greeted with a toilet seat that had urine drips and a filthy toilet bowl, plus dirty mop marks on the floor and stained bedsheets. Although the staff was very responsive and cleaned the toilet immediately, making it look spotless, the fact that it wasn't cleaned thoroughly before check-in spoiled my mood for the entire stay. It's a pity, because this hotel has real potential if they take hygiene more seriously.

Problem with booking...arrived after 24hrs travelling to one bed for 4 of us. I had messaged to check few days before leaving, but got no reply. They didn't say anything when we arrived, not sure what they expected we would do. No receptionist had to do it all by phone. Staff would not meet to sort. Took over 2hrs texting. Would not refund. Had to pay for upgrade. More expensive than many other places on booking, including whole apartments. Only one lift key, so everyone had to stay together. Pool closed in rain, which it did every evening. Noisy. .

Its literaly stone throw away to pasar basah KK, since my main purpose is to shop for seafood, so its really beneficial to us.

The toilet smell so bad!! I think maybe from the sewage? We cannot sleep bcoz of the smell, its like badly maintain public toilet. But the toiley itself is clean

The lift is slow somehow. There are always so many people waiting for the lift all the time..and waiting for so long. I had to use the stairs climbing 6 floors because of it.

Clean and centrally located Borneotel offers easy access to shopping and dining. Situated opposite the Filipino Handicraft market, it boasts efficient and friendly staff.

It wasnt the best experience staying at this apartment. Im very particular about cleanliness, but this hotel has strong sewage smell in the room. The lift was slow. No dish soap, no tissue. The washing machine in chinese no english. The upside is only the aircond and the tv.

Nice and spacious

The images of the sea view are nice but that’s not the reality of things! The view is over a busy market which is noisy and dirty! The area isn’t very nice and the airplanes above the residence aren’t great. The place is close to everything but the view from the window is not as nice as they appear in their description. This is a we rigides residence not a hotel. So the name is a bit misleading! To go to the beach you have to take a boat to the islands cuz the beaches in Kota Kinabalu are stinky and dirty!
