Hiru Lagoon Negombo

Zeer fijne locatie. Wij hadden bewust 3 nachten geboekt voor we terug gingen. Nog een dag Colombo en nog een dag relaxen. De kamers zijn ruim, schoon en goed onderhouden en niet onbelangrijk een zeer fijne douche, warm water en goede druk! Het zwembad is ook erg schoon. Elke dag maken ze het gezin weer netjes. En er staan voldoende bedjes bij het zwembad. De eigenaresse heeft 3 dagen voor ons gekookt, dat was fantastisch, helaas konden we haar niet meenemen 😉

Little hotel, with lots of privacy and fun extra's: we could take a canoe across the water which I highly recommend. It was a secluded space far from the hustle from the city. Perfect first stop on a trip (though I wouldn’t stay here for 3 days or more).

Not much to do or explore around the hotel (busy road), if you go by foot.

Het prachtige plekje direct aan de lagoon van Negombo, dichtbij de luchthaven. Het eten is heerlijk, zowel ontbijt als diner, en wordt geserveerd direct bij je kamer. Het zwembad nodigt uit om een tijdje in zitten (lekker warm!), en in de loop van de middag een vruchtensapje en thee waren heel prettig! Na een drukke periode thuis hadden wij even tijd nodig voor een goede globale vakanteplanning, en dan is het fijn om daarvoor een rustig plekje te hebben. Tot slot zijn de gastvrouw en de jongens erg vriendelijk.

Eigenlijk niets. Hooguit dat de mooie locatie tot gevolg heeft dat je voor alles een tuktuk nodig hebt, maar hey: that's Sri Lanka!

The staff really went above and beyond here! It felt so comfortable and the breakfast was truly exceptional! Not a buffet!! The rooms were huge and the pool was right on the lagoon! Couldn’t recommend this place more, the staff really made it a wonderful experience

Tohle bylo jednoznačně nejlepší ubytování během naší cesty po Srí Lance. Doslova ráj. Velmi starostliví a pečliví majitelé, kteří se neustále starali o to, aby nám nic nechybělo, všude naprosto čisto, útulno, překrásná zahrada s překrásným bazénem a výhledem na Negombskou lagunu, k dispozici kajak k zapůjčení, neustále se pálily vonné tyčinky, což dodávalo místu autentickou atmosféru a jako zlatý vrchol všeho si lze předem objednat domácí jídlo, které opravdu nemá chybu a člověk by o hodně přišel, kdyby jej alespoň jednou nevyzkoušel. Mořské plody z místních zdrojů a kari byly naprosto nezapomenutelné. To vše za přijatelné ceny. Toto ubytování je naprosto ideální zařadit jako začátek nebo konec putování po Srí Lance. A rozhodně je chyba zůstat pouze na jednu noc, protože tohle je opravdu balzám, který člověk musí vychutnat. Rádi bychom se vrátili, třeba za rok, za dva, a to na delší dobu. Snad ještě bude příležitost. Opravdu moc díky za všechno!

Nelíbilo se nám, že musíme odjet. Klidně bychom zůstali ještě třeba týden. :)

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt im Hiru Lagoon in Negombo. Unsere Gastgeberin war sehr nett und hilfsbereit und hat uns zu Beginn unserer Reise einige gute Tipps für unsere weitere Reiseroute gegeben. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und gut ausgestattet, sodass es uns an nichts gefehlt hat. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns der schöne Pool mit dem tollen Blick auf die Lagune – perfekt, um nach einem langen Reisetag etwas zu entspannen.

Das Abendessen war in Ordnung, allerdings kein besonderes Highlight. Auch das Frühstück war okay, könnte unserer Meinung nach aber noch etwas abwechslungsreicher und umfangreicher sein.

Very clean and well maintained property with pristine towels and sheets. Room was large and spotless. Pool and garden were also beautiful. Breakfast and evening meals were really tasty and plenty to eat. Most important was the very kind, helpful staff especially Isha who was wonderful. She arranged everything we needed and went above and beyond. Wonderful hotel not to be missed.

Die Anlage liegt in ruhiger Lage direkt an der Lagune. Insgesamt gibt es 6 Zimmer. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Alles ist sehr gepflegt. Der Pool ist klasse. Das Frühstück ist auch toll. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich. Diese Unterkunft war die beste, die wir in Sri Lanka hatten.

Uns hat alles gefallen.

Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und geräumig. Es gibt einen Wasserkocher und Trinkwasserflachen auf dem Zimmer. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bei allen Fragen und Anliegen wurde uns direkt geholfen. Die Unterkunft ist eine kleine Oase und für das Ankommen oder vor dem Rückflug perfekt.

It was an absolutely wonderful two-night stay! I was pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality, specially as a local traveller. The breakfast was delicious, and the fresh juice served during the day was a lovely touch. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and everything was thoughtfully provided to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Truly a wonderful experience

Ich kann die Unterkunft nur von Herzen empfehlen. Wir waren nach unserer Reise noch für einen letzten Tag vor unserem Abflug hier und hätten uns einen entspannteren Ausklang nicht vorstellen können. Die Unterkunft und das gesamte Gelände sind wirklich sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten fantastisches Essen und durften sogar mit dem Kajak auf der Lagune fahren. Danke für diesen wunderschönen letzten Tag, das grandiose Essen und die tolle Gastfreundschaft. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! 🥰

A bit far away from downtown Negombo, not a lot to do locally. We would have liked to have a better breakfast or more options consisting of traditional Sri Lankan breakfast instead of toast and jam.

The location of the stay is absolutely stunning. The facilities are really good with the host very friendly and accommodating. Food is good but with limited options and no lunch menu. Breakfast was provided.

We spent our last two nights at Hiru Lagoon and it was fantastic way to end our trip to Sri Lanka. The rooms were clean, cool and spacious with tea / coffee and snacks for guests and the outside space was glorious. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the pool overlooking the lagoon was great for cooling off. I’d also recommend a boat trip around the lagoon which great fun. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Hiru Lagoon. The rooms, garden and pool were all beautiful and very clean. Lovely touches such as snacks in room and fresh flowers on the breakfast table. Breakfast was delicious, as was dinner (which is available on request). Isha and staff were all very helpful. A lovely relaxing few days before our flight, away from hustle and bustle of central Negombo in lovely lagoon side setting. Don’t hesitate to book!

Rustige kleinschalige accommodatie dichtbij Negombo en luchthaven (waar je overigens geen enkele last van hebt). Mooi uitzicht over de lagune vanuit een heerlijk zwembad. Heel vriendelijk personeel en eigenaresse, die ook nog eens fantastisch kan koken! Strand op enkele minuten loopafstand, voor een prachtige zonsondergang.

Stunning property and wonderfully peaceful. All the staff were so lovely, particularly the owner. The property is quite secluded but there were two very nice restaurants nearby if you wanted to venture out (Crab Cove and MAALU by AAYU).

The only thing I would add is that it would have been nice to have a fridge in the room to keep out water cold.

Ein sehr schönes modernes Hotel mit nur 6 Zimmern, direkt an der Lagune gelegen. Das Essen ist phantastisch. Wenn man hier nur übernachtet zum Ankommen oder Abreisen, ist das Hotel die perfekte Wahl.

Wenn man länger bleibt, ist die Lage ungünstig, da zu weit außerhalb der City. Man hat keine Möglichkeit fußläufig Restaurants oder Ähnliches zu erreichen.

We were warmly welcomed by our hosts even though we arrived towards midnight. The room was clean and the breakfasts outstanding. Isha also cooked us an evening meal and was most helpful with any need we had.

It was ideal fit the airport, an amazing restaurant just round the corner (you’ll need a tuk tuk 🛺) called Crab Cove. The hotel staff were lovely and bring round cups of tea randomly. They also order dinner in for you from another restaurant. The pool has the perfect view of the lagoon and perfect place to sunbathe and relax. We will stay again when we fly to Colombo.

Ein echtes verstecktes Juwel – ruhig, entspannt und einfach perfekt, um anzukommen und abzuschalten. Das Essen sowie die Gastfreundschaft sind eine glatte 10+! Die Unterkunft ist ideal für den Start oder das Ende einer Reise. Das Team ist unglaublich hilfsbereit – ich durfte sogar nach dem Check-out noch länger bleiben, da mein nächster Trip erst später losging. Dafür bin ich sehr dankbar. Absolut empfehlen kann ich auch die angebotene Bootstour mit Raju. Wenn man die Zeit hat, sollte man sie unbedingt machen – die Fahrt über die Negombo-Lagune ist wunderschön und hat sich total gelohnt. Raju ist super herzlich, und man wird bequem abgeholt und wieder zurückgebracht. Ich bin wirklich dankbar für diesen besonderen Ort und kann ihn von Herzen weiterempfehlen.

We had a really wonderful stay. The owner was incredibly kind and understanding, which made us feel welcome from the very beginning. We arrived quite tired and decided to have dinner at the hotel – and it turned out to be such a good decision. The food was delicious, and they served it right in front of our room where there was a small table. We could sit there, relax, and enjoy the view over the lagoon. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into the place. Breakfast was also great and served on the balcony, which made it even more enjoyable. Overall, we felt very welcomed and taken care of. It was the perfect ending to our vacation.

Beautiful property with a view of the lagoon! The owner also is great cook, we had a fantastic seafood dinner and delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. Our flight was cancelled so we spent a night here and so glad that we did!

Just a recommendation maybe a blanket in the room would be nice, rather than just a sheet.

Fantastisk lille oase i Negombo tæt på lufthavnen, men i de roligste omgivelser. Dejligt stort værelse med den smukkeste udsigt ud over havet. Vi fik virkelig slappet af her efter en lang rejse og blev forkælet af det sødeste personale der serverede lækker morgenmad lige uden for vores dør. Kan kun anbefale!

Stunning location, so peaceful with enough restaurants near by. The staff were truly lovely, you can have home cooked wonderful food prepared for you. The breakfast was delicious too

Our stay there was wonderful. After traveling for 40 hours, it was the perfect place to unwind and recover. The beds were comfortable, the rooms emaculantly clean, the A/C cold and the staff amazing. The have a kayak that they will allow you to use in the lagoon at no charge and the breakfast is the best!

Eine perfekte Unterkunft,für die An- und Abreise. Die Anlage ist ziemlich neu. Man kann draußen sitzen, ein sehr schöner Pool und bequeme Liegen sowie absolute Ruhe machen die Unterkunft perfekt. Das Frühstück und auch das Abendessen schmeckt phantastisch.

Die Anlage liegt ca. 10 km außerhalb der Stadt, fußläufig sind keine Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten erreichbar.

The staff at Hiru Lagoon couldnt have been more friendly or helpful. The location of the hotel on the lagoon is lovely and you can see a lot of wildlife eg egrets, kingfishers, storks and pelicans. Food was great. Our room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is quite far out of town but tuk tuks are cheap and there is a nice local cafe called Bali. Id strongly recommend the lagoon tour the hotel organises. You see a lot of wildlife and the lagoon covers a huge area.

A beautiful little hotel tucked away down a quiet road. The hotel is positioned by a lagoon and so had stunning views, was really quiet and peaceful and had a lovely little pool and lush gardens. All the facilities were well thought out and spotless and the owner and staff were really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here on your way to or from Colombo airport as it is so conveniently located for the airport.

Nisha is vriendelijk en behulpzaam, en staat altijd klaar met tips. Het zwembad en de rust van de tuin en lagoon was erg fijn. Het eten wat savonds voor je gekookt wordt is echt een aanrader. Het ontbijt is lekker, en iedere dag een variatie. Je eigen terras biedt een prettig plekje. Een voor ons uitstekende keuze en komen graag terug. Veel dank Nisha en familie!

What an amazing place to stay! We had 12 days here and enjoyed every minute. Close to the airport, many visitors stay for a night or two but I would recommend a longer stay. Negombo is a really interesting city and just a tuk tuk ride away from the peaceful, beautiful lake side retreat. The owner can’t do enough to help with organising trips and tours if you want to see more of the country. The food was amazing! Breakfast was different every day and always delicious. Evening meals are always available on request. The seafood platter with crab is to die for! The rooms and grounds are spotlessly clean and all the staff pride themselves on outstanding service. This place is too good to use as a stopover and should be enjoyed at your leisure. You can relax here and do as little or as much as you want. The pool is refreshing and clean and the gardens are wonderful. The owner helped set up the PICK ME app so getting around by tuk tuk was so easy and gave us the independence to get around and explore. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience that we will never forget.

A great place to stay before/after a flight in or out of Colombo. The rooms were spacious and well looked after, the food was delicious (and pretty huge portions!) and Isha and her team were wonderful hosts!

Serene accommodation on the banks of the lagoon. The place has 6 rooms. The small garden and pool with dappled shade was very welcome. The room was new, with great AC and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are served on the veranda outside your room. Both meals great - the homemade fish and crab curry and veg curry were both nicely balanced and better than others we've had. The lady owner and the staff were very friendly and really helpful. They coped well with our early morning arrival. You can use the pick me app to order a tuk tuk or car to get into central Negombo (500 to 1200 rupees). We much preferred staying here to the bustle in the town, but it depends on your preferences.

The outstanding attraction of this property is the hostess Isha. Her warmth and friendliness were the perfect welcome to Sri Lanka. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the room was very clean and comfortable. The property was quiet and peaceful, the meals were tasty and well presented.

If you like to go for a stroll around the neighbourhood, there is not a lot to see, but it is only a 10 minute, 500 LKR tuktuk ride into town.

Well appointed clean room facing the gardens, the pool and the lagoon. Truly wonderful team providing exceptional service. The breakfast was served on a terrace outside our room - delicious and different each morning. Always freshly prepared and authentic Sri Lankan fare. We also enjoyed our dinners each evening - again freshly prepared and authentic meals. It’s located in a quiet spot yet close to the hustle and bustle of Negombo. We took a tuk- tuk to go out and about - quickly organised by the hotel staff. We can highly recommend Hiru Lagoon.
