Love its proximity to the Intercity bus dropoff/City bus interchange. Opp the supermart and a great coffee joint tt opens at 7am (if u don't want to make own bkf or eat in house) Efficient check.in. Staff took time for us to learn to us the online apps to operate the access security features. Room has a nice morn sunrise view. Never saw a room with so many socket points but good. Quiet comfy small room. Well-maintained. Lots of facilities to hang around like the Library or Zen Rm

Better if there is a ramp for luggage added to the main reception entrance which has 5-6 steps. when we were there for check-in & check-out, the staff has stepped away fr counter so we had to heave the bags ourselves. Ramp access is at a far end. Communal kitchen is too cramped. The cutlery drawer is awkwardly located at the cooking hob area. Would prefer a bigger desk or countertop to the extendable desk so the tray/kettle can be parked there rather than on the seat. The hanger holders have poor spacing so they are hard to hang clothes directly and the hangers with clothes would be crowded. The sink is too small and water ends up on the floor.

Convenient location, awesome staff, room was very clean and a reasonable price for the amenities.

App system for room/elevator unlock was a bit unwieldy but not frustratingly so.

Great location, modern, clean and very helpful and friendly staff (Thanks T). We arrived late and had to fly home the next morning, so it was a perfect place for a 1-night stay. The upstairs loft room with balcony and living room was great.

部屋は広くてとても綺麗でした。オンラインチェックインではサイトが日本語対応していたので、とても簡単でした。スマホで鍵を開錠できるのも便利でした。ベッド横には通常のコンセントとUSBコンセントがありました。バスインターチェンジもすぐ横なので、アクセスもとても良かったです。ベッド下に1人一つずつ収納スペースもありました。（鍵は持参）とても快適に過ごせました。

トイレ、洗面所、シャワーが一つのスペースとなっていましたが、ドアの鍵のかけ方が分かりませんでした。ドア下から明かりが漏れて使用しているか分かるので、間違えて開けられることはありませんでした。また、建物内一部電波が悪くなり、私の場合は特に部屋前になると圏外になることがありました。ギリギリ部屋の鍵は開錠できました。到着したらまず宿のWi-Fiに接続することをおすすめします。

Guests in rooms super untidy and inconsiderate of space of fellow guests. Bedroom had suites, bags, shoes, clothes on floor everywhere. After shower slip hazard as floors left soaking wet by fellow room mates. Perhaps instill the importance of keeping sleeping places neat and space for other guests to walk and move around and use bath and clean after the way you would like to find it.

The position is close to the bus stop. Nice staff, enough fridge space, tidy room.

It was a little noisy on Friday night, with music coming from the bar on the ground floor. It would be helpful if the front desk could provide earplugs to guests at check-in.

They happily changed my booking type even though I made the error.

Since our bathroom was private, I don’t know when last it was cleaned.

Fabulous inner city human friendly Hotel/Hostel. We had a king room on the 4th floor. This place is an absolute gem. The staff are friendly, intelligent & very helpful . And super clean. We loved it!

Central location, opposite new stadium, in the heart of chch vibrancy. Great model, offering range of accommodation plus rec room and library. In house events. Great restaurant and bar.

The room was a little small, but very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The hotel is centrally located and beautifully decorated, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was very quick, helpful, and friendly. We especially appreciated the complimentary wine at the hotel bar, which was such a lovely touch. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel!

First I received a message on the day of check in, towels not provided and to rent $6 or buy is $8????? after checking in the room had towels one on each bed again ??? Then the message said I booked a 4 bed room Dorm room again ????? bookings.com shows I booked a Private Superior 4 Bed Room, the staff said bookings.com gets this wrong again??? stain on carpet didn't look nice or hygienic, Our room was next to the bathroom all day and night you can here people coming and going, walls paper thin, constant knocking on the shower door and people talking while waiting , cant move as no other rooms available. Room did not have a shower booking a private room I assumed it would, description is poorly described on bookings.com. Noisy school group staying at the same time

The facilities and location are brilliant. The rooms are really clean, comfortable and, whilst compact, they are really well designed. The central bus station is right next door and if you're taking the shuttle to Mt Hutt it really couldn't be any easier, they pick up and drop you back just a few steps from the front door. The Rambler bar downstairs is great for a drink and a bite to eat and there's a number of great cafes very close by for breakfast (Pilgrim and C1 Espresso) as well as a really well stocked supermarket just up the street. And the Riverside Market is a short 5 min walk for pretty much any cuisine your tastebuds desire. But the real standout are the staff at The Drifter Christchurch, they were fantastic - really kind, helpful and happy to answer any questions. Special shout out to Lindsay who helped me with a very last minute booking, thank you!! I can't wait to see you all again next year... 😊

Das Drifter ist so ziemlich das schönste Hostel, in dem ich jemals war: tolle Aufenthaltsbereiche, geräumige Küche und Essensraum, eine eigene Bibliothek zum ruhigen lesen und ein eigener Space mit yogamatten und Blöcken ausgestattet! Die Zimmer sind modern, sauber und geräumig. Besonders das Personal und deren Bemühungen möchte ich hervorheben. Es gab einen Abend ein get together mit günstigem Essen, um neue Leute kennenzulernen und vor meiner Abreise hat man mir sogar noch schnell einen Cappuccino mitgegeben, weil ich recht gestresst aus dem Aufzug kam. Die Lage ist top für die Anreise mit dem Bus und fußläufig zu Stadt. Ich wünschte ich wäre länger geblieben!

This hostel is perfect! The room is big and clean. I booked an 8-female-only room, and it has two bathrooms! Amazing! The facilities are excellent, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely wanna live in this place again.

I had a really nice stay at Drifter Christchurch. Excellent location, and a clean new building. Check in & the electronic key went smoothly. My private room was clean and comfortable with a good bed. I didn’t use the kitchen, activities room, etc., but they all looked clean and well maintained. Great spot from which to go out and explore Christchurch and close to bus station for next leg of my journey.

Walls a bit thin, could hear music from event downstairs and neighbors banging around as they got ready for bed, but no too bad.

Too many emails. Plus the kitchen, especially the sinks, were grubby due to other residents who didn't bother to clean up after themselves. I'm not sure how this can be dealt with.

This has been the best hostel I have stayed , it was clean and tidy the drom rooms are good size (8 bed dorm with 2 ensuits!) Excellent location for the city centre and public transpprt. And grrat value for money. Would recommend this to anyone who is travelling to Christchurch

An excellent hostel in a prime location, especially if you’re arriving by intercity bus or from the main bus station. It’s incredibly convenient, with several grocery stores within walking distance and the main street just nearby. The facilities are new, modern, and very well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised by the room size — it was much more spacious than I expected. The kitchen was also a highlight; the staff cleaned it frequently, which kept the shared space consistently fresh and tidy. I particularly liked the phone-based key card, which was very convenient and meant one less thing to keep track of. Another great convenience is the luggage storage after checkout. If you need to leave your bags for a few extra hours, storage is available for just $1 per hour, which is very reasonable. Overall, a clean, modern, spacious, and incredibly convenient hostel. Highly recommended, especially for travelers arriving by bus!

One small thing to keep in mind: the hostel is located right above The Rambler, so if there’s an event happening downstairs, you may hear some music or activity— though for me, the excellent location and overall experience more than made up for it.

Taking my money 2 months in advance and leaving me with no money, while waiting for 24 hour refund. Then send me an invite to buy cheap food after I have stated no money left. Purchasing a towel on line to find you have none in stock so I kindly get offered a hire towel for same price. I get hit in face by pillow and wheat bag by another occupant because I turned a light off in rooml
