No dish rack for dishes, no tea towel to dry dishes. We all only had 1 towel each and no laundry facilities. Creepy cleaner walking around our unit for the last hour before we left. Stood by rubbish bins and watched us load our car. Asked him to leave then he called the owner who told us he was the cleaner, wanted to sit by our front door and watch me put my shoes on. Was creepy as, tried to get out of there as soon as possible after that. Never had someone standing around waiting for us to check out like that.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The staff is nice and quick response to resolve the washing machine and cooking utensils problem.
The neighbors are very noisy at night (after 10:00pm) although the motel has the rule to keep quiet after 10:00pm. No one attended the phone call to handle the noisy complaints from the neighbors. Can’t sleep totally at late night.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2026We absolutely loved staying at Ali motel. We are country pumpkins and this made us feel comfortable with the small lawn out the back and privacy. It was in a perfect spot for all the things we wanted to do on our family trip giving everything was 15-20mins from our stay. We saw Mark (owner) cleaning the other units and asked if we needed anything or if we needed anything don’t hesitate to contact them. The price of this stay was amazing and in our budget, plus being a 3 bedroom villa there was plenty of space for our family of 5. Absolutely loved staying here and we will definitely be booking again on our next visit to Auckland

Stove top was tricky to work. Not much in terms of bowls/jugs to use in microwave. A nice couch would be perfect. Couldn’t connect phone to tv to watch the league and couldn’t download sky.

We weren’t able to vacuum. Shower and basin have some mould. Needed another couch in the three bedroom unit as there was only a 3 seater couch for 7 of us.

Reviewed Jul 3, 2026We were meant to arrive on Monday 29th June but we ended up coming on Sunday 28th june. The owner was really nice and we were able to to get room for Sunday. We stayed here for 6 nights. We had unit 2 and it had everything we needed including a washing machine. We go to meet mark. He such a lovely person, nice and friendly. If we are ever back this way again for a weekend or even a night I will be definitely coming back to Ali motel to stay. 💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The stove/oven. Elements take ages to heat up. It could do with an upgrade. It would also be good to have TV in bedroom especially if you have children.

Reviewed May 24, 2026This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for" good price for all my family to stay. We booked two 2 bedroom units and was well priced for us all. Units were clean. Good parking. Nice to have bathtub for the kids. Handy kitchen and location was close to a variety of food options. Macas and BP walking distance which was handy. Owners were accomidation with giving us 2 cots and 2 extra beds when requested.
The road was so noisy. If your a light sleeper wouldn't recommend especially the front unit. Area pretty dodgy. Beds were hard. Ashtray on front concrete deck full of smoke butt's... None of us smoke. Sugar bowl empty (not a biggy but should really be topped up after each guest)

Reviewed May 3, 2026Rooms were big, lots of beds to sleep on (sleeps a total of 8 people on 4 queen beds). There was green space in the backyard, but we didn't use it. Good kitchen facility too.
I might have misread it myself, but I was expecting two full bathrooms. However, there was only 1 full bathroom (with a shower), and the second one was only a toilet. The location is also a bit sketchy looking (especially from a tourist point of view).

Reviewed Apr 18, 2026The roominess was very nice. The rapid rail Middlemore Station is a 15 minute walk. The kitchen was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There are also two toilets which is a nice feature. Close to the airport.
The nieghborhood was slightly sketchy though I wouldn't say dangerous. There was a small amount of mold in the bathroom and the carpet could use a cleaning. There is no place to store luggage if you have a few hours to kill before catching a ride to the airport. That said, I would stay here again.
