Central Inn Taupo

Easy to locate and reasonably handy to center of town. Details to get in were acurate and easy to follow. Unit was clean and great for our purposes. Can recommend.

Easiest check-in. Clear instruction on how to check-in. Most importantly, they're accommodating pets and very understanding. This is my 2nd time staying at Central Inn Taupo, and will come back in the future!

Nice location and pet friendly

There were ants but we know that cant be controlled, but I wanted to add a wee tip is ants dont like Vicks vaporrub so a tiny bit placed by where they would enter helps deter them.

The double bed was very small, the room was too small for 3 people, beds were not comfortable as other reviews suggested, the sliding bathroom door had large gaps so there was zero privacy. The shower was great but the extractor fan dripped water on us when coming out of the shower. Didn’t help that a neighbouring couple came into our room thinking it was theirs last night!!

Loved that it was located right in town. Also very easy to access and great parking.

No kitchen sink

This was an amazing find. Needed to stop between Auckland and Wellington for a night. Clean, tidy, affordable perfect for sleep n run, or to stay longer. Good find. Really comfy beds, good shower, kitchenette. Good location.

The only thing was the extractor fan would drip on me, but absolutely not a deal breaker. Paid $126 a night for 2 of us and a small doggy. So affordable, clean n comfy!!!

Great communication from the hosts. Great service, such as washing of dishes. The unit contained everything I needed and was clean and tidy.

The bed wasn't the most comfortable but I slept well.

The room was comfy and clean, and it was lovely and quiet. Quite basic but met our needs. Nice and close to town (could walk) and would definitely stay here again when we travel to Taupo.

Not serviced daily and wasn't aware till after booked. Meant to be serviced mid stay but dont think this happened as rubbish not removed. Would of been nice if outside bins provided to put excess rubbish into, rather than leave in room or take to work to dispose of.

Great location close to town and a very short walk to the V8 Supercar bus departure point.

The unit was clean and tidy and close enough to walk to the shopping area, lake and restaurants. It was dog friendly which was the main reason we chose to stay there. Bed was very comfortable.

Thought it was a bit expensive for what we got. There was a large crack in the basin and also a hole in the door to the bedroom. No soap in the dispenser in the shower. As the owners are not on site, we did not think the soap would be replaced, however someone came to clean the unit next door and was able to refill the dispenser. Also no Sky TV!

Being able to take my dogs with me lake is just down the road as well as the town they thoroughly enjoyed there stay as much as I did absolutely loved the walks and swim in the lake 😀

This is a converted house. Room 3 was very small and there was no sink in the room only very small hand-basin in the toilet. no heating or cooling would be hot/cold at sometimes of the year

It’s a convenient location, and the price is quite reasonable for pet-friendly accommodation.

No cabinet or storage area

Good and clean. We could take our dog and we didnt have to go upstairs. As there arent any, to carry our luggage. Nice the dog could have a grass area to be walked on. Good there was a porch and there were tables and chairs outside and a bench either stools inside.

The fridge door rubbing on the carpet and there was only a fan for cooling the room which in the heat in summer makes it a bit uncomfortable and we slept with windows open.

I loved it...parking right next to the room. Bed was comfy. Already had a shower before coming there so didn't use the shower. Facilities were sufficiently good.

A lot of noise coming from next door unit moving things around or in and out of their van...not sure what it was, but was quite loud...during the evening after they returned from being away, but gradually quieted down. Then again in the morning....otherwise I did enjoy my stay...gave me a chance to organize boxes of my stuff before moving them into storage which was satisfying for me.

It was very hot and the fan had no power…. Couldn’t go to sleep with the windows open. But not a biggie

Only one sink located in the bedroom, used for bathroom hygiene and for any other needs including filling coffee jug coffee or to clean utensils. No sick in bathroom or kitchen area. The property offers to clean your dishes by placing them in a bin and leaving it outside for them to pick up. We only stayed one night but it would have been terribly inconvenient to have dishes washed elsewhere. We were still packing up and about to check out, when a man came by to ask if he could pick up the used towels, which I thought was a bit rude.

Not enough bedding (got cold and extra rug in wardrobe was dusty). Shower vent dripped on me when I showered and I couldn’t get away. Some furniture a bit worn. Weird location behind a house, no view.

I loved that we could take our dog 10/10 and she could sleep in the room. Shower pressure was amazing.

It took us 10mins to open the lockbox for the key. It was a small room for a family but suffice for the night or travelling solo or a couple if staying longer. Bed to short for my 6ft3 son.

Delay in instructions to access unit. Lack of sensor...or any lighting outside of unit. Lack of privacy in bathroom with no blind or curtain for window. Free wifi?...yes, for one whole hour then unfortunately no wifi until morning. No idea what issue was as we never touched the plugs clearly marked as do not touch!. Maybe batteries in tv remote need replacing as took them out, changed them around a few times for 10 minutes before we could get the TV to work. All in all, quite disappointed with the standard vs the $$ charged and would not recommend to friends or family. You win some, you lose some. This one I take as a loss. Adam tried to be helpful re instructions on accessing the unit, but it sort of went downhill from there. On this occasion a brickbat, not a bouquet. Thank you, Wayne Millican.

Location was good, just a flat short walk into town. Room was small but clean and tidy. Only negative was the cost. I felt $200 for the night was expensive for what I got.

A small suite in a prime location close to shops, restaurants, cafés and the lake of course. Perfect for a family of three and their pet. The property is located at the end of a longish driveway, which makes it safer for the dogs keeping them away from the road. Also, there's a small lawn for them as well. Myself, my wife, our 11 year old son and our 1 year old spoodle have thoroughly enjoyed our four day stay there and wish we could stay longer. We'll definitely consider it as our accommodation next time we plan to come to Taupo :)
