Reviewed Jul 13, 2026Cosy room, enjoyed the retro furniture, plenty of blankets, heat pump and electric blankets for winter time. Easy to find in a quiet neighbourhood. Could charge our e bikes at the back of our room and keep them locked up there.
Liked everything and would stay again. Suggest to have a non stick utensil to use in the pan

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026Welcoming staff who turned the heat pump on so our room was warm. We were able to have our dog stay with us and I liked the clearly stated rules for dogs and their owners. The outside area was very nice although the chilly weather limited our use of that. The motel is small and personal and a short walk to the lake and the lakeside coffee cart. Milk and a good array of tea and coffees are provided and our unit had a well stocked kitchenette. I really liked the retro interior design - very nicely done. The unit was small but very comfortable. The motel has ground floor rooms and we were able to park our car right outside our unit for easy transfer of luggage. We will book here again.

Only improvement I think would be an extractor fan in bathroom to help with steam but the cover over shower helps a bit.

Great location near the lake and about a twenty minute walk from the main town centre which was great for me, although there is a small supermarket and some restaurants a little closer if you don’t feel like the walk into town. The owners are amazing! Very friendly and helpful and very generously gave me a lift into town with my suitcase when I needed to catch the bus the Auckland.

It didn't worry us as we had a car, but the Motel is a fair distance from Shops and Restaurants.
