Reviewed Aug 23, 2025Lovely family, and Sachin was so helpful, kind and welcoming. The room was spacious and the A/C worked wonderfully. Beautiful house and nice courtyard. Good shower pressure. About half an hour walk to the beach which was fine for us. A few eateries around, a train station quite close.

Reviewed Feb 17, 2025I had a great stay here with the friendly hosts.. The room was spacious and comfortable with A/C and a fan. The outside terrace is in the shade for the majority of the day and so is an ideal spot to relax in. The location while away from the town itself is in an authentic Sri Lankan neighbourhood. I liked it very much but others may not be so keen.
The facilities on offer are very different from those listed. For example there are no tea coffee making facilities, shared kitchen, the wardrobe in my room was locked to name just a few. I think that the owner has just ticked every box available on the listing form. To me they were minor issues that didn't distract from my stay but it's something to be aware of.

The property is located in a peaceful area, yet it’s conveniently making it easy to explore the local attractions. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay. What stood out the most was the hospitality of the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist with any requests, making the stay feel warm and personalized. The serene garden and outdoor seating areas provided a relaxing environment to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, 489 Residence is a perfect place for both short and long stays, combining comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Negombo.
