Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Frühstück wurde frisch zubereitet. Wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt.

Location was very convenient to downtown and art galleries. Beautiful older home well preserved.

Miss Harper who took cared of us was excellent. She was very accommodating and provided us with excellent suggestions for food and visiting sites.

Altenglisches Haus mit passenden Möbeln, sauberes Zimmer, gutes Frühstück und freundliche Frau (Angestellte oder Eigentümerin?), die uns ein gutes Pub für das Abendessen empfahl.

Im Zimmer 2 hat es einen Schreibtisch, dafür keinen einzigen Kleiderhaken oder sonstige Möglichkeit, seine Sachen gescheit zu lagern, besonders wenn es geregnet hat.

Belle maison d’autrefois qui a gardé son charme. Très bien situé près d’un sentier bord de l’eau et près du centre-ville. Très bon petit-déjeuner complet .

Het is een mooi oud huis.

Wij hadden een kamer met bubbelbad geboekt (wat dus meer kost), maar deze werkte niet. We kregen hier ook geen excuses voor of zo. Het ontbijt viel ook tegen. Alles was heel vet met veel boter.

We 've been here before a couple of times last year and a few yrs back...place a little run down as was quality of breakfast . Don't think it's the same owners..Carpet in room has not been cleaned nor vacuumed..We're not clean freaks 😄 but for us , it was kind of a let down. The place is very beautiful...it would just need a little fixing, painting and more upkeep...patio and gazebo in back let down too.It's too bad cuz the view from there is so beautiful. It would be worth it to fix it up .Stayed 2 nights.Still enjoyed our stay.The host was nice and tried his best.There was a woman in training , she tried her best to serve us .I felt bad for her , Very pretty and kind , as she was a little anxious trying to learn how the air b and b was running.

Magnifique bâtisse à environ 30 minutes à pied du centre-ville de Fredericton (ou 5 minutes en voiture) le long du cours d’eau. La salle de bain était moderne et bien propre. Nous choisissons à l’avance notre petit-déjeuner et l’heure à laquelle on souhaite manger, c’est vraiment bien pour ne rien gaspiller et on est servis immédiatement lorsqu’on arrive ainsi ! Il y a un petit frigo disponible dans le couloir des chambres.

Il manque un banc ou autre pour pouvoir déposer ses sacs dans la chambre. Le ménage dans la chambre n’était pas parfait mais ce n’était pas embêtant. La literie commence à vieillir, surtout les oreiller qu’il faudrait changer, mais j’ai bien dormi. L’isolation acoustique n’est pas bonne et, étant donné que les salles de bain sont hors des chambres, j’ai été réveillée de nombreuses fois pendant la nuit suite aux allers retours des voisins. Le petit-déjeuner est bon mais sans plus et est assez spartiate, j’avais encore faim, c’est dommage ! Peut-être mettre un petit buffet à disposition en plus?

Tranquille, emplacement et la gentillesse de la personne qui nous a servi le déjeuner qui n’était pas propriétaire.

Dans nos voyages nous avons très souvent été dans des B&B mais celui n’a pas été à la hauteur avec un accueil froid et expéditif par une personne et non par les propriétaires. .Aucune consigne dans la chambre pour rendre ce séjour plus agréable.

La chambre était charmante et spacieuse. La maison est aussi très belle, mais elle aurait besoin de soins. C’est aussi très bien situé. Le personnel est très sympathique et le déjeuner correct.

Très bon déjeuner (à la carte) La climatisation de la chambre que nous avions réservée était défectueuse, on nous a donné une autre chambre plus spacieuse.

Picture the most elegant old house you can imagine, restored to its previous elegance and that is By The River BnB. The bedroom was massive with King size bed, shower/bathroom top knotch. Now add in you get a choice of 5 breakfast items to pick before you go to bed.

Nothing we didn’t like….exceeded expectations

The location was excellent. Close proximity to most places or things a visitor would be interested in. Room was clean and air conditioned. Breakfast was good.

Bathroom was hot and humid without having a shower or bath and there was no way to control that. I was pouring sweat just standing in there shaving.

The air conditioning was not working. The temperature in the city was feels like 37 degrees. Also the jacuzzi can be use only for 2 hours at the day, between 18.30 and 21.00 h. We paid for a room with jacuzzi and couldn’t use it. The room was not very clean either.

Lack of proper pillows. Front door key fob didn't work, left stranded outside. No one responded to the two front door bells when calling for help. Extremely late breakfast (disorganized) Felt sorry for the young man in charged.

My room

You need a weed Wacker to get to the beach. Our teenager host was the rudest, most condescending kid in the knwn universe. The beach area was scattered with broken glass. The house itself needs a ton of maintenance.during our stay, there were no clean towels and no garbage removal. They made a good breakfast

Room needs a desk, not a sitting table. Impossible to work without one.

Very good location close to downtown area eateries. A nice old building that could still do with some TLC to make it much better. Ample parking available.

There was no help with baggage as advertised on the website. Narrow stairwell made it difficult to carry luggage to the top floor. No adults present at any time. Zero hospitality. Young children were hosts (we only had contact with the young girl). Laissez-faire attitude of young girl we spoke with about any situation. Zero room maintenance during a 4 night stay (ie refreshed towels etc) and no effort to even discuss our needs. The description of the facilities was misleading / misrepresented to say the least. Broken window blinds which should be an obvious item for maintenance attention. The chair and cushion webbing was tattered / in obvious disrepair. Had to write a note each evening regarding what breakfast we wanted the next day but no paper was available to do so on two occasions. Breakfast was very slow on the 3rd day. TV was poor. Signal repeatedly buffered, was hard to turn on, particularly hard to turn off, and on the last day there was no sound. My wife required small bites regularly due to health situation. Our food, which we placed in the fridge outside of our room, was taken. A spider was discovered walking under my bed sheets. (Note: It didn't contribute to the accommodation cost!) We paid for four nights but checked out after three. The young girl we advised of our change in plans had a 'don't care' attitude.

The room left a lot to be desired. Obviously the owners/ management have not ever stayed in the rooms. 1. The room was very spacious with the sitting area as you walked in. However there no place to put you luggage than on the floor or on the white bedding. With all the space a luggage rack would have been nice. 2. In the bedroom, the chair with the ripped upholstery should not have been there, you could have easily taken a chair from the sitting room instead of leaving the one that clearly had seen its better days. 3. The extension running across the floor. It wouldn't have taken much to tack it neatly against the wall. 4.The shower... was fine except the floor was extremely slippery. There should have be a rubber mat to put down. Another note, there were real candles on the fireplace mantel, not a great idea regarding fire safety.

Le contact peu agréable avec la propriétaire de B&B et les consignes d’arrivée pas très claires et impersonnelles.

L’accès à Fredericton se fait en moins de 5 minutes en voiture ainsi que l’accès à l’autoroute

L’accueil est déficient. Nous avons dû attendre 40 minutes pour qu’une personne se présente à la réception après avoir contacté le numéro de téléphone de référence 2 fois. Le café est infecte. On nous a servi des cerises fraîches entières dans le yogourt au déjeuner. Les lits de la suite sont inclinés, un lit plus haut au pied qu’à la tête, l’autre lit de la chambre est incliné sur les côtés de sorte qu’on roule de droite à gauche. La douche aurait besoin d’être fichée car ne s’égoutte pas bien et on prend un bain de pied.

In unserem Zimmer funktionierte die Klimaanlage nicht. Ob die generell kaputt war oder nur vorübergehend, das wissen wir nicht. Jetzt war es noch nicht ganz so heiß draußen und da ging es mit dem Ventilator so einigermaßen für die eine Nacht. Wenn die Klimaanlage wieder funktioniert, sollte es kein Problem sein. Ein bisschen schade war, dass es auf dem Gang für alle Zimmer nur einen kleinen Minikühlschrank gab. Passte Gottseidank mit den Zimmernachbarn, sonst wäre es ein Problem gewesen. Und noch eine kleine Anmerkung. Das Frühstück war wirklich lecker, allerdings war es ein bisschen chaotisch. Die Tassen und Teller der Gäste vor uns stapelten sich auf den Tischen. Uns wurde gesagt, dass es auch noch ein anderes Esszimmer gäbe, aber wenn ich doch den Gästen das Frühstück bringe und eh zurück in die Küche muss, dann nehme ich doch schon mal benutztes Geschirr mit. Das haben wir dann zur Seite geschoben und es stand eine Stunde später immer noch da.

The pillows were old and flat. It felt like mites were crawling on your face. The bed was rock hard. We didn't have a good sleep. The front door lock didn't work properly.

The property advertises private beach access, which does not actually exist. There is a uncleared path obstructed with plants that leads to a very dirty and obstructed area close to the river. It is impossible to go for a swimming or enjoy the area as it is obstructed and dirty. The property also advertise river view bedroom, which was also inaccurate as it was impossible to see the water from the room.

The bedroom was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom beautiful.

It was a lot diy and little attention from any staff.

The location wasn't bad and we were checked in before 3pm since the room was available . It is a quiet area as well with a very spacious bathroom.

They are not responsive especially when you email. Also, the aircon wasn't working. I used the fan and today is my birthday i am totally sick with flu from the fan. I booked the room because of the jacuzzi but what they didn't mention online was the fact that guests are limited to use the jacuzzi bubbles only between 6pm to 9:30pm. Who goes on a vacation and stays in a B&B between those hours??? Downstairs seem okay but the hotel might use some good products to enhance the smell. Honestly once you get into the B&B, there's this smell that isn't so good. No toilet brush in the bathroom. Imagine if the need for it had come up? You can see the river from the property but you cannot go there as there is no passage leading to the river

It was a beautiful old house that had been renovated and it had a modern bathroom. The rooms are on the 2nd floor and you basically had the main floor to sit and visit or play games. You receive a key for your room when you arrive but the rooms are not locked before you arrive or if nobody occupies a room. You have a choice of 4 things for breakfast that you order the night before. He then cooks your breakfast for you in the morning.

The owner goes home at 6:00PM. We arrived at 6:30PM, we then had to phone to be able to access the building, we waited outside on the phone while they checked our reservation then they texted us the code to access the building. Took about 10 minutes. The TV in our room was not working (no cable box) so we tried phoning and texting the owner but they did not answer. When we asked the owner the next morning about it, he said he goes home at 6:00PM. He said the box broke the week before and we could have gone into any of the other unoccupied rooms and taken the cable box. The 2nd and a minor issue is there is a gap between every 2nd floor board that you could lose a small item into if you dropped it or you do not want to spill a drink. One small fridge in the 2nd floor hall for all guests to share.

The separate wash room had a claw foot. large deep bath tub under a sloped ceiling (on top floor). I couldn't figure out how I was going to use it without injury. I used to like B and B's because I like to meet people who live in the town. However this host seemed to want as little to do with the customer as possible.

This place was beautiful and convenient for passing through Fredericton.

The only issue we had was the television didn’t work.

The host didn’t even tell us his name. He didn’t offer any conversation other than the necessities. Please provide regular sized pillows for guests to use instead of the 1/2 pillows. Dining tables should be cleaned after each guest uses. Cutlery should be set at each spot. Coffee was cold as the day old was used next day out of carafe instead of brewing fresh. Please leave instructions in rooms on how to use the heat pump for warmth & cooling. Location is noisy due to busy street. No Costly stay in my opinion.

The building is old and charming with its own history. The area was nice and pleasant to have woken up with birds chirping in the morning. The room was very spacious and quiet.

Ce n’était pas soigné. On dirait que personne n’entretient. À l’extérieur en arrière il y avait beaucoup de choses qui trainaient. Des déchets, des choses cassées. Les chaises sur la galerie étaient salles ou brisées. À l’intérieur le rdc est vraiment beau. La chambre (Mary tibbits) était meublé de manière très ordinaire. Tout est vraiment défraîchi. Je serais gênée d’offrir un hébergement meublé comme ça. Le divan était défoncé. Il y avait 2 vieilles lampes et un plafonnier à l’éclairage très froid. Le lit était correct mais les oreillers (3) vraiment défraîchies. La salle de bain n’avait pas de douche. Seulement un bain avec douche téléphone. Le déjeuner était vraiment basic. Ça valait même pas 10$. Bacon tellement frit qu’il s’égrenait. Nous avons quitté après 2 nuits sur 3. On aurait pas passé une nuit de plus à cet endroit.

Breakfast system is to write down your order and time wanted on the provided cards the night before. Only there were no cards on my second night and no one around. Next morning I had to ring the host to request breakfast as again no one was around. Rather than be apologetic she was angry with me. She contacted her son who was very helpful. Not a big deal, but the attitude of the host is not something you should have to deal with when on holiday

The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. It is a great place if you want solitude. The dining room has lovely natural light in the morning. And of course, the place has a sense of history, with fine paintings and furnishings. The staff were helpful and unobtrusive.

Breakfast was fine, though having to place an order the night before rather than in the morning, and designating a time to eat means you cannot be flexible. There should be a kettle or hot water available all the time so one can make a cup of tea. My room was fine, evidently recently updated but the stairway could be refinished. It has that old house musty smell.

We really wanted to like this place but…the unshovelled and ice covered entryway was indicative of the poor attention to detail. Our young male host was greatly lacking in hospitality skills and seemed generally disinterested ( when you could find him). The overall cleanliness was subpar.e.g.The bath mats obviously aren’t cleaned often and the well worn white towels look grey. We peaked into the kitchen and it was a mess. The water pipes in our froze overnight and we realized there is no number to contact anyone after hours! Breakfast was late,cold and below the quality we usually associate with B&Bs.( the “margarine” on the toast was not even melted).

Beautiful well maintained older building. The suite was tastefully decorated with a huge bedroom, two sitting areas and a further sitting area on the balcony. Very relaxed, welcoming and sedate atmosphere with available tea and coffee at all times. Great breakfast.

Il nous a proposé de ranger nos vélos en sécurité à la cave! Le déjeuner était simple, bon. Le petit coin où on peut se servir de lait, crème et sirop d'érable est super. Il y avait même du lait d'avoine barista! Plus de fruits serait bien. Une option de crêpe sans produit laitier serait vraiment bien, de même que pain sans gluten.

Requires more attention to small details. For example driveway and parking area was very icey with no sand or salt being used. Also would have been nice to have the fireplace working in the main sitting room.

The location was great and we enjoy historic homes with old stories so that was exciting for us. Happy to have a mini split in our room, TV was great, bed was comfortable. Staff greeted us and was welcoming and kind.

The exterior needs some tending to. There was a lot of cardboard/garbage strewn about in the driveway. Attention to detail was poor. There was a dead potted plant on the stand in our room, pile of dirt on the floor upon entering our room. The bathroom-disappointing. We booked specifically for the jacuzzi tub. Not only was it complicated to run because buttons were worn out and there was no written instructions anywhere, the jets had not been flushed out so there was debris throughout the tub when we ran it. Also, the sink tap was literally unattached to the counter and the shower curtain needed replaced and there was a used brush under the sink with the hairdryer.
