Area 4 eco cubes

Super bel endroit en pleine nature (beaucoup de bruit d’animaux jour et nuit), le personnel était incroyablement gentil et serviable à tout heure ! Nous nous sommes même demandé quand est ce qu’ils dormaient! Les cabanes sont jolies mais il manque quelques finitions pour que ce soit parfait !

We had a wonderful stay at Area 4 Cubes. Everything was very clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We enjoyed both an in-room dinner and the floating breakfast, which was a real highlight – especially for our children, who absolutely loved it. The two large double beds also make the rooms a great choice for families. Staying here really feels like spending the night in the middle of the jungle. The view into the lush greenery is beautiful and almost meditative – a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

The pool was a little cool during the rainy weather, although it is probably perfect on a sunny day. The portions at dinner were relatively small, but the food itself was good.

Wat een heerlijk verblijf!! Na twee weken rondreizen met de kinderen van 2 en 3 wilden we een nachtje in een wat ruimer verblijf zodat ze even de ruimte hadden. Dit verblijf heeft de verwachtingen nog overtroffen hoor! Goede kamers, goede bedden, fantastische service, lekker prive zwembad, eten wordt geserveerd aan je tafel. En allemaal super schoon dat was ook heel fijn.

Voor ons geen probleem maar het zit wel echt wat buiten Ella en de voorzieningen daar. Wij vonden het verblijf zo fijn dat we het ook niet nodig vonden om het te verlaten, we waren er maar èèn nacht. Maar wil je in het centrum zitten is dit niet de juiste plek, al denk ik dat het personeel je zo zou helpen met vervoer

À 30 min de Ella, ce qu’on n’avait pas bien évalué avant. Quelques petits désagréments à l’arrivée (porte des toilettes dysfonctionnelle, lampe ne fonctionnant pas) mais qui ont été corrigées.

Beauté du lieu

Envuelto en plena naturaleza, ubicación aunque lejos del centro (30 min), son cabañas en medio del bosque. La piscina es muy buena también.

El servicio debe mejorar. Muy poca flexibilidad con el desayuno y algunos platos fuera de mercado como dos plátanos por 1000 rupias para cenar. Estuvimos dos noches y ni nos hicieron la cama, ni nos repusieron las botellas de agua, ni tazas sucias del café anterior. La ducha no funcionó correctamente durante la estancia aunque indicamos que la repararán.

Het waren mooie en schone kamers. Bedden waren goed en airco werkte perfect . Het zwembad aan onze kamer was super gaaf met een mooi uitzicht. Het diner en ontbijt waren van goede kwaliteit en je werd keurig geholpen .

De ligging in de jungle is heel gaaf met een fantastisch uitzicht op de bergen vanuit het privé zwembad

De afstand naar Ella centrum was een beetje lastig.

Two nights at Area 4 Eco Ella — and honestly, we didn’t want to leave! The view was absolutely stunning, the service was top-notch, and the whole team was so polite, friendly, and attentive. They somehow managed to make us feel like VIPs without making it feel too fancy. And the food… THE FOOD! 🤤 Easily one of the best parts of our stay — delicious enough to make us seriously consider extending the trip just for another meal! Two nights, beautiful views, amazing food, and an incredible team. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended! ❤️

Away from city.but they got tuks

A beautiful, peaceful location in the middle of the jungle with a lovely pool. Our teenagers loved sleeping on the bus. We stayed in a cottage right next to it. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and dinner. In short, highly recommended.

Quite area off the beaten track 25m drive to ella which was fine for us because we were their mainly to hike the pekoe trail. Do book one of the villa’s with your own swinningpool. Very convenient

Prachtige locatie - we verbleven met ons gezin in een kleine villa- een eindje buiten Ella maar heerlijk om tot rust te komen. Zeer vriendelijke staf!

Een beetje problemen met het warm water maar dat werd gelukkig goed opgelost!

Such a special space, close enough to hop in a Tuk Tuk and visit Ella's attractions, then retreat back. The place, the people, the rooms, the pool and the food are wonderful. Everything is done with care. We celebrated my 40th and I am very grateful for the efforts of the team to make it so special.

Prachtige plek midden in de jungle

Locatie, de accommodatie is niet 8km maar 14km van Ella. Als enige hotel wilden ze onmiddellijk 50% betaling via vage website. Bij aankomst moesten wij aantonen dat we dit bedrag betaald hadden. En bij aankomst moest ook onmiddellijk het resterende bedrag betaald worden. Geld was belangrijker dan ons comfort.

We had a truly unique and memorable stay here. The concept of staying inside a converted bus facing an infinity pool was something completely different and refreshing. Waking up to that view was an experience on its own. The entire setup is beautifully designed, blending nature with comfort in a very creative way. The atmosphere is calm, private, and perfect for relaxing. Service was excellent throughout our stay—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique getaway with great views and a peaceful vibe. But its such bus and you have some limitations, have to understand when u book it.

Great stay at Area 4! The villas next to the pool were perfect—peaceful, private, and beautifully maintained. As a couple, we especially loved the relaxing atmosphere and easy access to the pool. One of our best getaway experiences—highly recommended!

My stay at this hotel was excellent from start to finish. The room was spotless and very comfortable, with all the necessary facilities. The staff was polite, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. The location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I especially enjoyed the food—it was fresh and tasty. I would definitely visit again.

There wasn’t anything major to complain about. Everything met my expectations. I had a pleasant stay, so there’s nothing significant I didn’t like.

This place was a RAT ZONE

you want to experience a place with rats, this is unfortunately the spot for it. The hygiene standards are extremely poor, and overall it was a very bad experience. It feels like the management is only focused on making money, with no attention to cleanliness or guest satisfaction. the staff seem to lack proper hospitality training, which made the situation even worse.

The property was truly exceptional in every respect. The garden was absolutely wonderful - beautifully designed, peaceful and meticulously maintained, creating a calm and refreshing throughout the stay. The hospitality was outstanding. The staff were genuinely welcoming and attentive. Their warmth and professionalism made the experience feel very special.

Die Unterkunft liegt extrem toll inmitten vom Dschungel, etwas ausserhalb von Ella. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Wenn man etwas braucht, muss man einfach fragen und sie erfüllen einem den Wunsch. Die „Cubes“ sind liebevoll eingerichtet und wir bekamen sogar ein Upgrade zu einer Wohnung mit eigenem Pool. Das Bett war sehr bequem.

Das warme Wasser in unserem Zimmer ging nicht und es kam kaum Wasser unter der Dusche. Die Unterkunft ist doch relativ weit von Ella weg und nur über eine sehr holprige Strasse zu erreichen.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend. Es hat uns auch bei der Organisation von Ausflügen unterstützt.

Schöner Bungalow mit eigenem Pool mit tollen Blick in den Dschungel. Frühstück auch sehr gut.

Ich wollte dreimal täglich per WhatsApp gefragt ob wir etwas zu Abend essen wollen und ob wir eine positive Bewertung bei booking aufgeben können. Das fand ich insgesamt etwas überfordernd. Mutig finde ich auch die Bezeichnung der Lage, die Anlage ist 15 km von Ella entfernt.

This is a completely overpriced place claiming it is “eco”. It could have been a good concept and idea but has been realised without following the values of it unfortunately. The architectural finishing is badly made, what looks like wood is plastic. The bus is not even leveled, so the bed has important inclination which is not comfortable. The water stream is not strong enough and not very warm. Anyways, I wouldn’t complain for things like this, but when you pay a price for “luxury” it should be decent quality. I give a wild guess that this is an “investor” project, made by people that want to make money without truly caring to make it a truly good and eco experience for the guests. It just “sounds” good and popular like that isn’t it? At least, the staff was kind. The pool and surrounding is nice but that’s about it.

It's just living in the cabin in the woods. Very aesthetic and good for a photo shoot. Very helpful staff, since we are having a late check-in and they are keeping our bags for all the days after the checkout time.

Too far from the city - about 30 minutes from downtown, although it is said to be Ella. The place is too secluded, although it is perfect for honeymooners or someone who wants a quiet time. The entrance road is not ideal for large vehicles or low-height cars; it needs to be fixed because it has a sharp turn and poor pavement. All cars, or even our tuk-tuk, which brought us to the hotel, have difficulty entering the hotel complexes. Hot water is a bit problematic, and I ended up having cold showers. The bed and bean bag are a bit musky. The problem with a cabin like this is that it needs to be properly vacuumed. Egg for breakfast is a bit salty- not really my thing

Manager was a little pushy and wanted us to book all travel and tuktuks through the hotel even though the prices charged were much more than we could get independently. Price for the accommodation was higher than comparable places we stayed elsewhere.

From the eco-conscious layout to the perfect location, every detail impressed me. The bed was super comfortable, the shower strong and hot, and the shared spaces relaxing. I especially enjoyed how immersed I felt in the natural surroundings.

The location is very good if you are looking for a place where you can feel the authentic local atmosphere. The jungle setting is impressive — you are truly surrounded by nature. The staff were very kind and helpful.

However, the building we stayed in needs repairs, and the level of cleanliness was below our expectations. The pool water was cold.

Cet hôtel n’a rien d’un quatre étoiles, hormis sa belle entrée et la présence d’un gardien. Nous logions dans une chambre avec balcon, les équipements sont vieux et sales. Il y a des traces sur les murs (noires, rouges et marrons). Le lit est fait sans draps, seul un plaid été fourni au départ. Les rideaux aux fenêtres, en plus d’être sales, n’étaient aucunement occultants. Le ménage dans les chambres n’est pas fait quotidiennement, ni même proposé à la demande. La chambre que nous occupions est même dangereuse d’un point de vue électrique, la prise à côté du lit fait des étincelles à chaque fois que le câble branché bouge un peu, la rendant inutilisable ; le chauffe eau est branché directement dans la douche avec la prise non loin de l’eau. Par ailleurs, vous devez faire un choix entre eau chaude et pression, si vous vous lavez à plus de 37°C, seul un filet d’eau coule. La chambre n’est pas non plus équipée d’air conditionné, seul un ventilateur est présent. Le personnel est gentil mais n’est pas particulièrement aidant pour l’organisation des activités. Après quelques remarques sur la propreté et la dangerosité de la chambre, ils nous avaient parlé de nous changer de chambre, et malgré une à deux relances, ce n’est jamais arrivé. Au niveau de l’emplacement, le cadre est beau mais il faut compter 30 grosses minutes pour aller à Ella en tuk tuk. L’hôtel pourrait être agréable si le prix était moindre et qu’on ne s’attendait pas à avoir un quatre étoiles. Ne vous fiez pas aux photos.

Sehr schöne Lage etwas außerhalb von Ella mit schöner, gepflegter Außenanlage und sehr freundlichem Personal, die einem alle Wünsche erfüllen.

Etwas seltsamer Geruch in der Unterkunft (hatten das Chalet) aber es war sauber.

The best part about this place is the peaceful atmosphere — especially when the wind moves through the trees, it’s incredibly calming. The staff were amazing, especially Chamil and Hiran, who were always happy to help and took care of every request. Dinner was decent with limited options, but breakfast was really tasty. Totally worth the money, and I’d definitely stay longer if I could.

More options for food might’ve been nice but overall experience here is 10/10.

The jungle vibe/sounds not far from the busy Ella-town! Best way to Explorer this area!! It is a supurb location for relaxed nature retreat. Viisiting the various sites around Ella amd coming back to this beautiful establishment. The best! Big thanks to the team and especially Gayan and Sameera who went the extra mile every single time to make our stay as comfortabel and complete as it can be. Especially for a family of 4 with in need of extra hands the whole time. Breakfast amazing, lunch and diner a big bonus!! No need to leave the premesis. Very comfortabel for a family stay!!

Nos encantó todo!! La villa es un pasada, con su mini piscina para tí solo. Estaba todo super limpio. El personal es de 10, super amables y cercanos. Los desayunos, que puedes elegir entre tres opciones, muy ricos y abundantes. Me extraña que este hotel solo tenga un 8,4 en Booking, hemos estado en hoteles en Sri Lanka por encima del 9 y que eran bazofia al lado de este.

Obviamente la distancia al centro, pero cuando lo elegí ya sabía que estaba a unos 25 minutos en tuk tuk del centro de Ella. Así que no puedo decir nada.

They were waiting for us to welcome, staff were so cooperative, specially Gayan Akila is so professional and kind. If you really want to have jungle vibes, this is the best place.

Taxi's and ubers access is little tough but if you plan your travels in advance it is not a big issue.

We really enjoyed the experience, the hotel is 20min from the center of Ella, and its amazing to be a bit outside of the crowded city. Perfect for relax and disconect and enjoy also the activities of Ella. We will come again for sure. The personal like Gavan were really helpful and kind!!!

De mensen waar erg vriendelijk en deden hun best om het ons aan niets te laten ontbreken, mooie ontvangstruimte / ontbijtzaal. Het zwembad zat op een heerlijke plek en hier hebben we ook echt van genoten!

Het mooie accommodatie in aanbouw, er wordt hard gewerkt om hier een mooie plek neer te zetten! De kamer had geen airconditioning dat zou wel gewenst zijn.

Een mooie plek waar je tot rust kan komen. De kamer was zeker in een goede prijsverhouding. De badkamer was basic. Het lag in onze planning wel wat ver van de stad Ella af.

Das Hotelpersonal war sehr bemüht und hat uns sehr viele Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt gegeben und haben sich auch für unseren Transport vor Ort gekümmert.

Für uns persönlich war die Lage eher schlecht. Allerdings kommt es immer darauf an was man dort unternehmen möchte. Die Startpunkte der Wanderungen und die Stadt Ella sind etwas weiter entfernt gelegen.
