Moi Ella exceeded our expectations by miles. First of all we couldn’t have asked for a better location, right up in the mountains and trees (although a half an hour drive away from main ella town but we didn’t mind). The infinity pool was just exceptional, looking out over the view, and the jacuzzi was great. On the first night we went up to the rooftop balcony and stargazed - I have never been anywhere at all where the stars were more visible and it was an amazing evening. We ate at the restaurant on both nights and the rice and curries were so tasty and they even let us have a pudding from the buffet for free (even though we ordered from the à la carte menu)! We also saw a stunning sunrise from the rooftop area. The staff were so kind as well.

It was a little noisy one of the nights from other guests but not too much trouble.

Breakfast was lovely, good choice for any taste. Cant beat location. Peaceful, picturesque, quiet. Worth staying out of hustle and noise of Ella. The views are spectacular.

Great location if you want peace and scenery…. Loved the view from my room, while it’s a bit dated, it’s well kept, I had no issue with cleanliness. Nice place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

The next door room was noisy…. But it’s not the hotel’s fault, lack of consideration to other occupants is lack of moral awareness.

Het personeel was geweldig! We hebben zo een warm en fijn welkom gehad, dit is ons hele Verblijf zo geweest. We kregen een mooiere kamer en we konden onze was laten wassen. Zowel het ontbijt als avond eten was heel erg lekker (en grote porties) en werd met aandacht geserveerd. Het uitzicht, de prachtige zwembad en drankjes bediening waren de kers op de taart. Echt een heerlijk verblijf gehad.

Jag gillar naturen och berget . Man känner sig hemma i detta hotel om man är en nature människa. Hotellet ligger lite utanför staden och det finns inte några restauranger i direkt anslutning till hotellet. Det är dock väldigt lätt att boka en Tuk Tuk som kan köra en till stan på 5 minuter. Jag njut verkligen av miljön. Personalen är super trevliga och väldigt hjälpsamma och professionella. Hotellets restaurang erbjuder bra och vällagad mat .

Det finns inget i min tycke som kunde vara bättre.

The views are utterly fantastic, superb hospitality from the staff, cosy chill out bar room and fabulous pool making for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

Prime location 30 minutes down the mountain from Ella which is perfect if you want to avoid the crowds and stress in Ella. View is perfect! The staff is friendly to a degree we did not experience anywhere else during our three weeks in Sri Lanka and that says a lot! Everyone was warm and welcoming and made is feel at home. Instead of visiting the usual, overcrowded spot we can recommend to visit some of the waterfalls in the area - that was a far better experience that the bridge and Adams Peak. 5 minutes. Tuktuk drive away is Pallewella waterfall which is a must see. The walk from the main road is very nice through the rice paddies and we got the best fresh juices at a little bar on the way. One hour drive away Diyaluma falls which is a great day trip. You can swim in the pools at different levels and jump from the cliffs . Highly recommended. Our driver also told us that this was the best facilities he has experienced with good meals, fresh fruit and laundry service without any charge.

The interior is a bit tired and could use and overhaul some places.

The view from the room was serene. Amazing infinity pool. One of a kind location. The staff was very good. The city in itself was very touristy.

The pool over looking the mountains is amazing super peaceful. It also has a. Viewing platform also is good for sunrise. The staff were helpful and all very nice. Rooms were spacious clean and big beds. Food was good as well. Would definitely come back.

Facilities are very Basic including rooms and wash rooms. Secondly the hotel is far away from the station so I would recommend people booking this one to reach well before sunset. It rains a lot in Ella and there are no street lights on the way to hotel.

A warm welcome awaits at this homely hidden gem. Make sure you take time to take in the utterly breathtaking view from the pool - an incredible way to wind down and take in the wildlife after seeing the sights. Staff are exceptional and treat every guest like an old friend

The hotel is located in a very peaceful environment away from busy Ella town. Staff were super attentive and friendly. Always had our queries resolved promptly. I highly recommend the breakfast option “Wattiya” for a delicious variety of Sri Lankan food. Great infinity + kids pools on site.

No se hizo limpieza en la habitación ningún día, solo se repuso agua en la nevera uno, y la piscina estaba turbia.

De omgeving. Het hotel ligt midden in de natuur 14 km van Ella centrum op 750 mtr. hoogte. De rust en de prachtige tuin met zwembad maakte het voor ons een hele fijne ervaring. Wij maken een rondreis van 3 weken en tot nu toe staat dit hotel op nr. 1 van onze beste hotelovernachtingen.

Adembenemend uitzicht, gratis upgrade gekregen naar een giga kamer, heel vriendelijk personeel

Alles is zeer verouderd… restaurant voelt meer aan als een psychiatrische inrichting inclusief zusterpost. Ook zoveel personeel in het restaurant dat eten ongemakkelijk voelt. Wij hadden een huurauto en vonden het eten in Ella heel gezellig. We hebben een paar keer een mega kakkerlak gespot. Eén op de kamer en een vlakbij de lift. Daarnaast ook te weinig ligbedden bij het zwembad.

Todo. La estancia fue fantástica. El hotel está en el medio de la montaña y tienes unas vistas espectaculares desde la piscina. Parece que estás en el decorado de una película. Es un hotel tranquilo, la comida es buenísima y el personal es encantador y están muy pendientes de hacerte sentir a gusto.

Está a 30 minutos de tuktuk de Ella, pero merece la pena.

Lots of leisure activities

We loved the welcome! They had a traditional Sri Lankan clay house where we sat down initially for a cup for ‘belimal’ (herbal tea). The pool was absolutely lovely and it was overlooking a gorgeous mountain. We got in the pool twice on our one night stay, once in the evening and morning before check out.

We ordered some passion fruit martinis and they were not made properly. It was a lovely drink but not what you’d expect when you order a passion fruit martini. I recommend sticking to wine or spirits and avoiding the cocktails. Food was on the pricier side and lacking in both flavour and spice.

Total scam, do not go here if you are expecting Ella, as it is not in Ella and almost 18km away from Ella

The staff were not helpful, and we had to cancel our stay because even though they said it was in Ella it was very far from Ella (18KM) in a completely different town. Also the tuks from here to Ella are not freely available and charge excessive amounts to go to and back from Ella. DO NOT GO HERE EXPECTING ELLA.

Location us far from ella town and inconvenient to commute. You can book tuk tuk or taxi vis online apps as they don’t come to location. Tuk tuk via hotel charges very high so not worth it.

The location of the property was excellent and it couldn’t been better. The best thing about the property was the pool and 360 view on top of the building.

That it was so many bugs when I was sleeping, but we were living right in the woods so I can’t blame it.

קודם כל הצוות מהמם, מאוד אכפתי ונחמד. אמנם זה קצת רחוק מאלה אבל לנו זה לא הפריע, יש נוף מטורף מהמלון ושקט. הבריכה ממש יפה, החדרים נקיים ונעימים.

It’s quite far from the city center and sometimes it’s hard to find a taxi.

Klasický hotelový komplex, takže nonstop recepce, čisté pokoje s úklidovou službu, bar atd. Perfektní velký bazén, který v době našeho pobytu jsme mívali většinou jen pro sebe. Krásný výhled z pokoje i střešní terasy. Prostorné pokoje, fungující internet, pohodlná postel.

Už hodně staré a ne moc udržované vybavení pokojů i společných částí hotelu, ale až na drobnosti funkční, spíše by člověk očekával, že za danou cenu bude čtyřhvězda trochu na úrovni, což už zjevně několik let není. Za hlavní problém považuji snídaně, které jsme si dokupovali až na místě. Byl přislíben bufet, který vůbec nebyl, snídaně se objednávala z jídelního lístku a člověk na ni čekal i hodinu, což je tedy úplně mimo úroveň hotelu.

Das Hotel ist wirklich schön und bietet eine atemberaubende Aussicht. Das Personal war extrem herzlich und hilfsbereit. Ich habe ein kostenloses Zimmerupgrade bekommen und durfte lokale Snacks kosten. Zur Begrüßung gab es außerdem ein Glas Saft. Der Pool ist schön und auch das Restaurant bietet eine gute Auswahl.

Sie liegt wirklich weit abseits. Wenn man einfach entspannen und seine Ruhe genießen möchte ist es hier wunderbar. Aber bis nach Ella fährt man ca. 30Minuten. Über das Hotel lässt sich ein TukTuk für 3000 Rupie organisieren. Uberfahrer fahren nicht so gern so weit raus.

Hey das hotel ist wirklich schön gelegen in mitten einer ultragrünen umgebung. Die aussicht vom höchsten punkt des gebäudes, vor allem zum sonnenaufgang ist mega und der pool ne wucht. Einige minuten zu fuss weiter nach oben erreicht man einen felsentempel. Für uns war der besuch im tempel ein absolutes highlight. Das frühstück war auch immer lecker und superfrisch.

Ich finde mit knapp 30 minuten liegt das hotel zu weit von ella weg. Uns hat die fahrt hin und zurück auch mit pickme gut 5000 rupien gekostet, was einen ziemlichen teil unseres täglichen reisebudgets gebraucht hat. Ausserdem haben wir (familie) eines der grösseren teureren zimmer nehmen müssen. Für den ausbaustandard würde ich nicht mehr so viel bezahlen. Der erhoffte wow effekt blieb meiner meinung nach aus...

Service for poor and need more training I suppose. Worst accommodation during our trip to Sri Lanka , no difference in price. Price was as high as Colombo rates.

I loved the welcome tea experience where they served delicious fragrant herbal tea in a little hut with freshly cooked snacks. The tea leaves/flowers were handpicked in the jungle by the cook

The pool was amazing as was our room. It was nice to be offered breakfast in our room for same price as in the restaurant.

Whilst the pool had the most amazing view. It was a shame that the restaurant didn’t look over the view but instead was a room with no windows and no character. It was also much longer from Ella than expected.

Wir haben im MOI leider sehr schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Bei der Ankunft erhielten wir trotz Aussage von Booking.com ein Zimmer-Upgrade zu erhalten, ein Zimmer im Groundfloor. Das war uns persönlich egal. Wirklich schwierig war der Zustand des Zimmers. Beim Eintreten hatte das Hotelpersonal direkt schon mal die Fenster weit aufgerissen, um den offensichtlichen Schimmelgeruch zu übertünchen. Es brauchte allerdings nur einen Blick in das Badezimmer und dort wurde deutlich, dass das Hotel grundsätzlich ein Schimmelproblem hat. Man versprach uns schon vor Betreten des Zimmers einen Wechsel in ein besseres, was an sich schon ein NoGo ist. Darüber hinaus waren die Kissen und Bettlaken fleckig und die Gitterstangen vor dem Fenster hinterließen ebenfalls keinen Wohlfühlfaktor. Wir wechselten also auf Nachfrage am nächsten Morgen, nach dem wir kaum schlafen konnten, das Zimmer. Dies funktionierte zum Glück ohne Probleme. Das nächste Zimmer war besser, allerdings war auch dort Schimmel zu sehen, die Bettlaken waren wieder dreckig und auf dem Balkon wuchsen schon Pilze an der Wand (siehe Foto). Zuletzt kam es durch die dünnen Wände sowohl am Abend als auch am frühen Morgen zu erheblichen Ruhestörungen, sodass man auch hier trotz Oropax kaum schlafen konnte. Das Essen hatten wir uns dank der vorherigen Rezensionen gespart. Dazu können wir nichts sagen. Ein kleiner positiver Punkt bleibt zuletzt: das Personal war wie in Sri Lanka gewohnt super freundlich und verständnisvoll und half zu jeder Zeit mit dem, was sie hatten. Das Problem liegt unserer Ansicht in mangelnden zentralen Management-Entscheidungen, die das eigentlich schöne Hotel retten müssten. Wir sind froh, nach 3 Nächten wieder abzureisen.

Ein 90 Jahre Plattenbau vom Goldstrand Bulgarien !!! Ein großes Hotel, ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Absolute Mängel was die Sauberkeit angeht. (Schwarze Haare, Flecken überall, dreckige Fliesen, Zimmerservice kommt NUR auf Aufforderung bzw. wenn man diesen „bestellt“) Wenn man sich traute unter die Dusche zu gehen, gab es leider nur kaltes Wasser, die Decke im Bad war brüchig und man musste Angst um die Einsturzgefahr haben. Positiv zu erwähnen-> Nichtsdestotrotz war das Personal und die Küche wirklich bemüht und das Essen bzw. das Frühstück wirklich vielfältig und echt gut !! Leider ist das Hotel für uns zu weit außerhalb gewesen um Ella zu erkunden . (Ca 20 Minuten mit dem Taxi / TUk TUk)
