Super hotel. Great car parking with EV chargers. Lovely large bedroom and ensuite - the best shower of any hotel we’ve stayed in! Very comfortable bed and lovely bedding. Lovely breakfast and all of the staff were really great.

The road is pretty busy and we did struggle to sleep/ stay asleep in the early morning when the traffic started. Our room faced the road so request a room at the back if you are sensitive to noise and / or take earplugs. It is quite expensive- £170 a night.

Clean tidy warm and welcoming and the additional security to access the accommodation area was good. Large walk-in shower, comfy bed. We’re booking again.

Everything was good and professional. We had no negatives! But do save any embarrassment for yourself by always entering the correct number of guests (including babies) or you’ll have to book additional room as they have strict insurance. Read hotel policy. This is a wonderful new hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Everything is modern & very clean. Room was large. Breakfast was excellent. Staff are pleasant & friendly. Air Conditioning everywhere. Easy parking.

Not so keen on the 15min walk into town. Bedroom Air Conditioning control unit could do with replacement as it seemed to have a mind of its own!

Room had an accessible bathroom. This made us feel older than we are and was inconvenient to use as sink very low and not much in the way of shelves or place for toiletries etc. Also bathroom alarm went off and took some tome to sort out.

Lovely big room with sofa, great shower, friendly helpful staff, somewhere to store our bicycles.

Choice of cereals at breakfast was limited, would also have welcomed the option of porridge.

Very friendly..Nice food. But was disappointed that we found out there restaurant was closed and we had planned to eat there in the evening for a couple of nights ti save us from going back out.

It’s a little walk out of Sherborne, which might not suit some visitors. It wasn’t an issue for us

The rooms are super clean - spotless in fact, well presented and quiet! This is probably more a business hotel since there are not that many leisure visitors. Our previous stay here was so good that we came back, and even then there were days when we were the only ones at breakfast time. This time around, there were a few more families probably because they’ve started offering cheaper alternatives deals for booking.com customers. Whilst this is a fab hotel, you do need a car to get to places so if you’ve looking for a base to reach various destinations then this is the one. From here we visited the tank museum, Lyme Regis beach (poshest beach in Dorset), Clarks Village outlet shopping, Lulworth Cove and Dursley door - it was all some convenient! We crossed 4 counties in 1 day which made for a fun day out!

Probably the wait times for breakfast - we would have preferred a self service for cooked breakfasts and on days where there were more than 3 tables, breakfast took longer to arrive…although very tasty!

No gym or swimming pool, but we were only there for one night, so an excellent quick stopover.

The stuff at this hotel were absolutely amazing I couldn’t do any more to make this and enjoyable three nights stay.

Air conditioning did not work at all, the fan was going but no cool air came through. It was 27 degrees all night. The rude receptionist made us feel completely stupid and said it takes time for it to cool down. She simply wasn't listening, and couldn't accept there was a problem. It was our 3rd stay and unfortunately won't stay again, mostly due to the rude staff on checkout,

We couldn't fault the room. It was very large with a sofa, mini fridge and air conditioning. The bathroom too was roomy with an excellent shower. Face flannels were provided, which is always a plus point. The staff were all very pleasant but service was a bit hit and miss. We liked the fact that they had EV charging on site.

It was a great shame that the restaurant had closed earlier in the year, but there was a microwave provided for evening meals which we didn't take advantage of. There were some very good restaurants in the town but they were fully booked on 2 of our 3 nights stay.

Good location if you don't mind a walk into town. Plenty of on site parking.

Fairly poor housekeeping. No dressing gowns or slippers and only 1 set of towels in the room. Room and bathroom were dusty. Dirty floor in the bathroom. Bed making could be improved. Used glasses not replaced for the second day's stay. Breakfast menu looked promising but quality of food was poor.

The room was lovely and loved the shower. The staff were all really friendly.

When we went to use the glasses, there was a crack in the glass, but we took it down to reception the next day.

The staff were amazing - in particular the manager. They made all of us feel so welcome and were so accommodating.

Having to request to have our room cleaned - we did not realise we needed to do that and it went uncleaned for two days - make sure you request a clean!

We were upgraded to a junior suite at no extra cost which was a lovely surprise. Beautiful room, incredible bathroom and the staff were lovely. I would absolutely recommend staying here. We stayed 2 nights but would love to have stayed longer.

Perfect location for our trip with free parking on site. Excellent clean modern accommodation. All the staff were friendly, welcoming & helpful too. We highly recommend The Hillbrook & would stay here again.

Whilst the breakfasts were substantial & delicious, it was slightly disappointing to find that there wasn't any provision for an evening meal.

It is relatively new and lacks character. No dressing gowns or slippers in bedrooms. It advertises a restaurant but that is misleading as it does not offer evening meals. Breakfasts are good but limited by today's offering in other hotels Their spa is shut. It is at least a ten minute walk into the town centre. This is a problem in bad weather considering the restaurant is not open in the evening.

Rooms were excellent - large, comfortable and very good. Location was a bit of a surpirse based on booking - modern looking building right by a 2 lane motorway - but was quiet, room excellent and very good breakfast. Highly recommend for a comfortable stay but not right near town, and not a quite beautiful setting.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly helpful staff.

The receptionist talking in an uncomplementry way about other people staying at the hotel. People that only wanted to book a taxi. The receptionist was very derogatory when speaking to the Taxi driver on the phone about them ! I hope she didn't talk about myself or my partner in that way 😕

Nice breakfast. Nicely cooked and fresh Lovely waitress. Excellent coffee.

There could have been some food available in the evening. A good chef would bring customers in. As the restaurants in the town were very poor.

Great suite with all facilities, including two large tvs! Very nice breakfasts.

The receptionist at check-in was unhelpful to the point of being rude. The others seemed fine. Surprised that there was no restaurant.

The decor is pretty good but the room we stayed needed lick of paint due to marks on the wall. Stylistically reminiscent of the Coppa Club but less polished. Breakfast was good and front office staff were cheery. Restaurant staff were young , a little disinterested in service and slow, but not rude.

They have designed the downstairs badly. The reception feels like you are walking into a B&B. The bathroom wasn’t clean. Hairs on the floor , sinks not clear.

Great hotel, it reminded us of an asian standard style hotel, with sofa in the room and clean decor, very, clean rooms amd facilitiea, friendly staff, super equipped, great chef and breakfast! Everybody there is friendly, smiley and goes beyond and above to make your stay as pleasant as possible! Thank you to the whole team from Ben, Mareen and Peter

A shame that the restaurant was closed but there is nothing to dislike at this hotel.

We stayed here for the first time this past week. Free parking and very convenient for those who travel by car, yet not too far from the town centre. The initial welcome at reception was warm and friendly and very helpful. Our room was superb. The dining room was an excellent space - as was the bar - and the breakfast was of an extremely high quality. All the hotel employees were terrific, from the reception and breakfast staff to the housekeeping team who kindly asked about the cleaning requirements for our room. We cannot wait to return.

Second stay here and it is always a welcome and comfortable place to stay.

Such a friendly hotel. Rachel on night duty was just lovely as the receptionist ago first greeted us. The rooms are huge and we had everything we neede including a smeg fridge!

It was a good 15/20 mins walk from the abbey but it was a lovely walk

Big stylish rooms. Excellent breakfast. Clean and tidy. Lots of parking. It was a real joy to order breakfast daily from a menu, rather than going up to a buffet. The choice was fantastic and having worked through a lot of the menu during our 4 night stay, everything I tried was delicious.

Poor Zoeella was doing a marvellous job at breakfast, but it sometimes felt as though one or two extra service staff were needed. Perhaps have one extra staff member but serve breakfast for one hour less?
