"The Cottage" at Bella Vista

The hosts were the most genuinely kind people who made the effort of making us feel at home. The views from the cottage overlooks a stunning lake and the atmosphere is so peaceful.

The Cottage was lovely, perfectly situated to hiking and exploring the nearby mountains. Lovely restaurants nearby and beautiful peaceful surroundings. Our hosts, Jenny and Neil, were welcoming and helpful, even taking care of an advance restaurant booking for us. We enjoyed every moment and look Thereforward to a return visit.

There was nothing to dislike - except maybe having to eventually depart for home.

Such a fantastic stay i had in the underberg / drakensburg area. Hosts Jenny and Neil live there and they were such awesome couple. One of the best hosts i have ever met. Superb communications and solid instructions via whatsapp. The day of my arrival i was getting very late and they even brought such a delicious dinner for me. The location is stunning.

Perfect location and a lovely rustic farm cottage. Jenny and Niel are lovely hosts and helped us with getting the correct and safest roads to travel from our destination and also were helpful with giving excellent advice on where to go in the area. This is a real home away from home!

I loved the hosts, they were amazing and the views were breathtaking.

That my time spent was short. Other than that, there is anything I didn't like.

Jenny and Neil were amazing hosts. They helped us with everything. We loved the great surroundings and they gave us very useful suggestions what to do. We would love to come back.

The hosts were exceptional.. They went over and above to ensure we were well taken care of in every aspect . It was my wife's birthday as well and they really made it special by getting her a gift, booking our dinner reservations and ensuring we had the best view and table at the restaurant.. Highly recommend.

Jenny basically made our trip, she was very accommodating and friendly. The unit itself was well stocked and neat,the fireplace was great aswell. It was in a somewhat quite and remote location which was a big plus.

only issue we had was that the water wasn't getting very hot on the first night but it was rectified soon after

What a peaceful place to be. We felt very welcome. The weather was great. The host was so excellent with the recommentions of places to visit and they did not disappoint. Thanks to Jenny with everything, Great place to be for us as a couple. The fire place added the touch to connecting and romance with my partner

I loved everything

Nice big cottage in a quiet, scenic, and serene environment. You have your own kitchen, bathroom, lounge, and dining area inside the cottage. The hosts were very friendly and even went the extra mile to help me when I had a car problem and were not fussy about check-in time when I was delayed. The property is load shedding proof. There is shaded parking for your car. Overall, I experienced top-class hospitality.

Nothing really, but they should consider erecting a bigger sign outside the property for blind drivers like me who always get lost even with navigation, but if you are not like me, you will see the sign.

The location is sublime and choice The owners engagement and generosity were superb .We were engaged fully from.the onset yet they are enough hands off and enough hands on . Their kindness and generosity are what differentiates them as hosts from other places . The cottage itself is prime and well maintained . Jenny did the area justice by tourist guiding us through that part of the Drakensberg . The Cottage is a definite must when near Underberg or that part of the Drakensberg . Almost nothing .

We received amazing service from Jenny before we even set foot at the property. She communicated right from the moment we made the booking and even recommended a place for us to stop for lunch on our way. Nothing was too much for Jenny and Neil. We particularly enjoyed the drive around the area showing us all that Drakensberg Gardens has to offer and the amazing dinner reservation that Jenny made for us at a nearby restaurant. When my husband had trouble connecting for work, Neil went over and above to assist. We can't recommend a stay at the Cottage enough.

The wifi connection wasn't strong enough for working in the cottage, but that was due to power outages. Neil offered that we get set up in the main house where the connection was more stable, which was an alternative. Also, the cottage is on the mountains, so it's expected that there will be intermittent connection issues sometimes.

The location and the feel you got when you drove up to this perfect little gem was warm and inviting. The inside was just perfect for the 2 of us. The owners Jenny and Neil were warm and welcoming.

The property is really well equipped, the kitchen has almost everything you could need for a sort to medium stay and it was spotless. The views are lovely over the mountains and a nearby lake, and the location was really convenient for us as we wanted to be close to popular hiking trails. The fireplace adds a touch of romantic charm and lovely heat on cold nights. The owners were super friendly and helpful and gave lots of useful advice.

Exactly what we were looking for! Peace for our souls and lovely hosts! Away from everything but yet close enough to visit local attractions

The peacefulness and tranquility and the warmth and care from the hosts. The chocolate cake and fresh eggs were a lovely touch.

That we arrived late and our trip was shorter than we would have liked.

What an amazing experience! Our hosts, Neil and Jenny, made us feel right at home. They went out of their way to make the weekend magical! They even arranged dinner for us at last minute at Castleburn Restaurant. We also made use of the Magic Mobile Massage therapists for a super relaxing couples massage. They came to our cottage, we had a nice warm fire going in the fireplace and absolutely loved every minute of the Massages! We would highly recommend using them!

We like that the cottage is cosy and centered close to all amenities. Jenny made it feel like home away from home for us,very welcoming. She made sure we were on time for our horse ride. We love her and her husband. The morning view of the lake is everything.

I really can't fault anything, the cottage met our expectations, great location. We really wanted to check out the snow,but we were leaving on Sunday. It only started snowing mid week.

Jenny and Niel are super host. The cottage is super comfortable and well equipped. Niel poitke is delicious, and Jenny chili sauce is lekker. They helped us after a long day hike where we arrived at night at neighbors. thank you so much, we hope to come back soon for other hikes.

Beautiful and peaceful accommodation with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Jenny and Neil are fabulous hosts. They are very accommodating and give the best recommendations on what to do/see in the area. Nothing was too much trouble for them and were always available to assist. Thank you both for an amazing stay! We will definitely visit again! PS: can not forget to mention Titus and Leah for being the goodest dogs! They deserve all the treats in the world!

Jenny and her husband Neil have been amazing hosts. They also booked our tour to Lesotho. All went very smooth and we are looking forward to come back in future. We highly recommend Jenny and Neil to future guests.

The location and the surrounding area absolutely stunning ! The cottage is lovely and has everything you need. The fireplace at night was so cozy. The hosts are such wonderful people, they took the time to show us around the area. They were always available for questions and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The location is supreme, surrounded by mountains with Lake Navarone at the base of the property. We intended the break to be relaxing, and we were not disappointed. Despite plenty to do within close proximity to the property, we found the setting so comforting that we spent most of our time there. Our hosts, Neil and Jenny, went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure. I believe we've made new friends and would certainly return.

Jenny communicated with us throughout our journey to our destination .When we arrived in the dark Jenny was waiting for us with her torch to welcome us. We met as strangers and left as friends.

Oppon arrival the host where very welcoming and showed us the beautiful cottage, they also took the time to drive us around, 5min down the road, to Gooderson and showed us the activities we could enjoy. We happened upon some Eland males locking horns, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect with views of lake Naverone and total quiet, perfect for a getaway from the city!

The most pleasant, friendliest and welcoming hosts that we have ever met, and let me not forget about Titan and his "big hugs". We were welcomed with the most delicious home bakes brownies from Neil. The Cottage is neat, tidy, warm and cozy (especially in winter) with the most amazing fire place to sit around and unwind. If you are looking for an escape away from any hustle and bustle this is the place to find your solitude.

Sadly we didn't get any snow.... But nothing that The Cottage or hosts could provide.....

The loveliest hosts, stunning location and exceptional comfort made our stay so special. It felt like visiting family in a home away from home. We were treated to snow but despite the cold weather, were very warm and comfortable in the lovely cottage. Jenny went above and beyond. The Southern Berg is a favourite spot of ours and we’re so glad to have found this amazing place.

Beautiful cottage in an amazing part of Underberg. Very cozy on cold nights, perfect for watching sunrises and the stars at night.

The hosts were exceptionally welcoming, kind and helpful in all aspects of my stay. The view of the mountains and Lake is breathtaking each day. The cottage is equipped with everything you may need and very spacious and comfortable.

Loved the cottage and views over Lake Navarone. Lots to do in the area. Tranquil setting with welcoming hosts and dogs. Titus who is sure to give you a warm welcome.
