Reviewed Aug 12, 2026The hotel was clean, the staff were absolutely lovely, the hot pools were a bit hot for me, but great for about 10-15 mins at a time.
The door to the second room locked on me, no idea how, I woke at 3.30am to use the bathroom and couldnt open the door. Resulted in me climbing out of the window and napping on the couch. Staff unlocked the door around 8am.

I thought it was weird that the other bedroom.was locked. I have never experienced that before. My daughter and I had to share the double bed. However there were two single beds in the other bedroom.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026We liked the hot pools - a choice of 3 different temperatures, but somewhat difficult to get into the water for elderly people like us, and the next morning we found the hot pool had gone COLD! Brr! The lady on reception was very friendly, but she couldn't get the TV to work properly - neither the one in the lounge nor the one in the bedroom. The bed was large and comfy.
We could not get TV programs on either of the two TVs and the lady on reception tried, but couldn't help. She said her daughter might know, but she never fetched her. It was all very digital, showing Netflix etc., which is not what customers of our age wish to watch! So we decided to go to bed very early and read our books. The bedside lights did not work. Well, one did for about 20 mins, then went out. They seemed to be on batteries and there was no way to recharge them. Very annoying! The towel rail in the bathroom was broken and there was nowhere else to hang used towels - an annoyance when using the bathroom.

radiator heat could not be increased on the cold night we were staying, had to sit with duvet around us and hot water bottle , in the evening while reading WE could not operate either of the 2 televisions, with the remotes, instructions very scant and did not help Rats in the ceiling during the night

The location is a bit isolated—there’s not much you can do about that. Be sure to shop and eat in Turangi on the way.

Die Unterkunft war nicht gereinigt. Die Toilette war verdreckt, der Kühlschrank und die Schubladen waren lange nicht mehr gereinigt. Auf der Arbeitsplatte und auf dem Tisch klebten noch Glasränder von den Vermietern. Tote Mücken, Motten, Käfer klebten an den Wänden, lagen in allen Ecken. Die Möbel waren alt und sehr ungepflegt. Die Fenster sind nicht dicht und als wir vom Ausflug wiederkamen, kam der Vermieter aus unserer Wohnung. Wir wissen nicht was er dort gemacht hat. Die Hot Pools haben wir gemieden.

Pools waren sehr heiß, so dass es schwierig war die mit Genuss und Entspannung zu benutzen. Unserem Zimmer würde etwas mehr Pflege (Sauberkeit von Räumen und Ausstattung) gut tun.

Reviewed Mar 8, 2026With just 7 chalets it’s very peaceful. The chalet itself is spacious with a well equipped kitchen, large comfortable bed and a decent hot shower. Excellent location for driving to the Tongariro Crossing shuttle buses. The geo thermal pools are a welcome treat for the muscles after the hike!

Die Wohnanlage ist wohl schon recht alt und die Einrichtungen wurden teilweise erneuert oder übergestrichen. Das Mobiliar ist schon stark abgenutzt. Die warmen Pools sind einigermaßen sauber und funktionsfähig, sehen jedoch durch die Mineralablagerungen recht unansehnlich aus.

The pools weren't great looking so we didn't use them. Although we did see one woman coming out of them so for sure some guests do use them.

Reviewed Jan 20, 2026Die Lage ist super, wenn man das Tongariro Alpine Crossing machen will. Das heiße Wasser in den Hot Pools ist super. Die Aussicht aus dem Schlafzimmer im 4er-Appartment ist traumhaft schön. In den 2-er Appartements gibt es nach hinten raus Fliegengitter, die die Insekten aufhalten Wir wurden freundlich von Gastgeber empfangen, er war durchaus bemüht.
Vor allem zwei Dinge, zum einen die Sauberkeit in den Wohneinheiten war für uns unzureichend. Die Ecken und Ränder sind voller Staub, Insektenkadaver liegen herum oder kleben an den Wänden. Die Kühlschranke waren dreckig, entweder von innen oder von außen. Die Hotpools waren ebenfalls dreckig und eine dicke Schicht Dreck lagerte sich an den Betonwänden ab. An meinem ersten Kissen klebte eine tote Mücke, auf dem Laken darunter war ein Blutfleck. Zum anderen gestaltete sich unser Aufenthalt etwas kurios, da wir bei 2 Übernachtungen zwischendurch das Zimmer wechseln mussten. Zunächst kamen wir im 4er Appartement unter, durften dort aber nicht bleiben, weil angeblich eine 4-köpfige Gruppe einziehen sollte. Allerdings stand in der nächsten Nacht kein Auto vor dem Appartement und das Kinderzimmer mit einsehbarem Fenster zum Hof wirkte am Morgen auch nicht bewohnt. Wenn 2 Nächte gebucht sind, wäre es schön, wenn die auch im selben Bett verbracht werden können und man nicht scheinbar willkürlich umquartiert wird..

Reviewed Nov 10, 2025貸切露天風呂が最高でした。温度調整は難しいので、スタッフにお願いして、とても心地よい温度で入浴することができた。トンガリロアルパインクロッシングの駐車場にもほどよく近く、トレッキング後、温泉でゆっくり筋肉をほぐすことができて良かった。
使用済みのタオルの返却方法がよくわからなかった。 新しいタオルは、毎日お部屋に用意されていて、問題は生じなかった。 温泉がどれくらいの頻度で掃除が入るかは不明だが、綺麗。
