It’s a gorgeous building!! Everyone was so kind, and the location is great. Close to public transit, and a quick walk to cafes and pubs. It was quiet at night and very peaceful.

The room was extremely beautiful and comfortable. The cleanliness was unmatched - to the point I want to learn from them on how to keep things so tidy!! The staff was lovely! We couldn't recommend it more.

The stairs to level 2 were brutal. Don’t book there if you have any mobility issues.

For the price, excellent. Complimentary bfast was a very unusual facilitie. Much appreciated. Location was very good to work in Edinburgh. Staff member I seen was friendly and explained things very well. Room clean , ensuite single room perfect. Bed comfortable. Would use again.

Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly, in the reception area there are breakfast items that you can use free of charge, the property is clean and well decorated, the room we had was lovely and quiet looking out to the garden, the room is well equipped with everything you would need, comfortable bed and a good shower. Ocean terminal is a 10min walk away and there is a bus service close by.

Location was good. I enjoyed that I smelt the sea air when I got off the bus. It was easy to find and so welcoming. I love the concept and that it was affordable. It was clean and had lovely touches and its own homely unique character. I felt happy staying here.

There was nothing which I didn’t like. One thing I noticed in my room was the sound of the water from the shower room which backs onto the wall of the bedroom but this can’t be helped.

Très grande chambre et lit immense, frigo et congelo dans la cuisine commune, avec qq produits dépannage : céréales, gâteaux et fruits… sur la rue mais pas de bruit la nuit, ni de nos voisins : on se croyait seuls ! Facile de rejoindre le centre ville en bus et à prix incroyable , un seul ticket pour la journée et deux lignes de bus. Parking dans les rues très proches.

L’aspect extérieur un peu fatigué, la rue ne paie pas de mine, mais pas de problème de sécurité pour rentrer tard le soir

Mit Bus ist die Innenstadt gut erreichbar. Kostenfreies Parken in den Nebenstraßen problemlos nötig. Sehr netter Gastgeber. Für ein einfaches Frühstück ist alles kostenfrei vorhanden.

Sehr steile Treppe zum 2. OG. Zimmer zur Straße relativ laut durch den Straßenverkehr.

Pièce du petit déjeuner très agréable. Chambre spacieuse et agréable. Accueil très sympa et convivial.

The location is a bit far but very well connected

Quiet location with many bus connections to the city. A beautiful guesthouse with very friendly staff.

Struttura comoda e accogliente, con personale molto gentile e disponibile. La camera era funzionale e non abbiamo avuto particolari problemi durante il soggiorno. Ho apprezzato anche l’area ristoro comune, con tostapane, piccolo frigorifero, bollitore e frutta fresca, che compensa in parte l’assenza della colazione inclusa.

La struttura è un po’ distante dal centro, anche se con i mezzi pubblici si raggiungono le principali zone di Edimburgo in circa 20 minuti. Il quartiere non è particolarmente piacevole e, soprattutto la sera tardi, non ci siamo sentiti del tutto a nostro agio. Durante il Fringe Festival, inoltre, i prezzi delle strutture aumentano molto e in questo periodo il rapporto qualità-prezzo risulta meno favorevole.

The hotel was quite far away from the sightseeing area. And for me a bit difficult to find because I had to change bus.

Felt like staying with friends. The people working there are exceptionally friendly and nice, always ready to help. Appreciated having fresh water and snacks available in the kitchen.

Schönes gemütliches Zimmer, gutes Bett, Aufenthalts- und Frühstücksraum mit Kühlschrank für eigene Lebensmittel, aber auch alle Zutaten für ein einfaches Frühstück gratis vorhanden. Kleiner Supermarkt direkt gegenüber. Bushaltestelle vor der Tür. Parkmöglichkeiten in der Nähe.

The staff was great. Thank you, Eric, for explaining all the essential points and the safety. It helped me to be independent for the rest of my time in your stay. Eric was also very friendly and welcoming 🤩 I liked the house was generally quiet, and I had a good feel of relaxation and chill. The hotel was located out of the city, but the connection was great. The bus stop is right next to the hotel. You have a choice of some buses going there regularly.

My bed was a single size, and I felt uncomfortable with the size and the ceiling, which was right above, making it feel even smaller. I didn't have a good sleep there. The bathroom for share is a bit of an inconvenience. If you need to wait for a long time for someone who is stuck there for 40 minutes, it can get frustrating. Especially in the mornings, when you need to be somewhere on time. So, plan this ahead. The bathroom itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable!

The friends are perhaps the best thing about the 4 Friends House. Eric especially was helpful with advice on public transit, dining out and places to visit. The fruit, cereals, condiments, etc. for the fix-your--own-breakfasts are perfect for those who don't want to eat out all the time. I hope to stay there on my next trip to Edinburgh.

Beautiful and atmospheric room, very good room service and The Absolute Best receptionist! We really enjoyed our time here, I highly recommend it!

Ein kleines Frühstück kann man sich im Gemeinschaftsraum selber zubereiten. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und uns wurde geholfen, den Koffer die steilen Treppen zum Zimmer hinaufzutragen. Im Zimmer war alles, was wir brauchten. Alles war sauber und wir können die Unterkunft empfehlen. Bushaltestelle zur Stadtmitte direkt vor der Haustüre. Die Fahrt dauert ein paar Minuten und ist recht billig.

Very comfortable room, nice towels including a big beach size towel, hand towel, wash cloth and bath mat. Electric kettle with supplies for making tea or coffee, even had oat milk and fresh carafe of water supplied daily. Lovely common area with loads of books, area information and a breakfast nook, drink area with small fridge was an unexpected bonus

It was super clean and we felt very comfortable! The room had a good size. The neighbourhood is good for walks and to schlender at the harbor area. In that area are also less tourists. It is true that it is near the street and you can hear some noises from there, but we were not disturbed by that. The people were very nice and I loved the sharing systems they envolved. We would come back anytime.

The host was a very nice guy, the location is great for our trip. The hotel is well-maintained with old/restored stucco. They provide easy breakfast with bread/milk/tea/coffee/nutella/fruits. Loved it! Even that our room had wiondows to the high street, it was very quiet during the night so we slept with open windows. Btw, the earplugs were provided. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed esp for 1 night!

We loved our stay! Great communication with the hosts, who were very helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient, in a quiet area but with a bus stop next to it that takes you to the old town in less than half an hour. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable. Great value for money, I would definitely stay here again!

Sehr schönes gepflegtes Haus. Sehr gut ausgestattet (1. OG , Einzelzimmer, Fenster zum Garten), sehr nettes Personal. Leider ein Punktabzug, weil das Fenster sich nicht öffnen ließ und es sehr warm im Zimmer war.

This property is in a lovely part of Edinburgh and close to some beautiful and easy river walks that take you right into the city centre. Also walkable to the Port and to interesting vintage and coffee shops along Leith walk. It is very welcoming and quiet, with wonderful hosts who create the perfect atmosphere for guests. We settled in immediately and were helped in every way. The rooms are beautifully appointed. A lovely sitting area is always available where hot drinks and continental breakfast is provided. Overall an amazing stay would recommend and stay there again!

This was such a gem of a find. The room was large, and absolutely spotless. The staff were extremely kind, and the communal ‘mini kitchen’ was great to have access to as well. Even though we chose not to have our room serviced, we would still find fresh bottles of filtered water available outside our door every day, a nice touch that saved us going down to get it. Easy walking to all the cute spots in Leith, and good transport connections. I will absolutely be booking this again next time I need somewhere to stay in Edinburgh.

Perfect stay in Edinburgh! We really enjoyed it! With the bus you are quickly in the Centre and it's only a quick walk to the Shore.

Die Unterkunft liegt abseits vom Stadtzentrum, was sehr gut ist. Dennoch ist das Zentrum fußläufig und es ist nicht weit zum Strand. Fast vor dem Haus ist eine Busshaltestelle, Buss fahren im 5 min Takt, und gegenüber gibt es einen Coop. Etwa 15 min Spatziergang kann man zu einem Aldi laufen und der Walk of Leith ist gut erreichbar. Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer, klein aber fein, für meine Zwecke völlig ausreichend. Eine Flasche Wasser, (es gab jeden Morgen eine neue), Tee, Kaffee, Wasserkocher und Milch/ Hafermilch standen auf einem Tablett im Zimmer. Es gab einen Föhn und sogar Oropax lagen für mich im Zimmer. Ich hatte ein Gemeinschaftsbad was ich mir mir einem anderen Gast auf meiner Etage geteilt habe. Bad war sauber und alles war funktionsfähig. Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche mit einer Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank und Geschirr. Dort gab auch die Möglichkeit für ein „kleines Frühstück“ (Brot, Marmelade, Müsli)

Leider gab es keine ordentlichen Türgriffe und somit war jedes Türschließen sehr laut, was leider auch nachts ein Problem war 🙂‍↕️

Great location to visit Royal Yacht Britannia, tram from import straight forward with 12min flat walk. Easy bus or tram to central. Very helpful staff. Clean room. Warm, kettle in room. Self help Breakfast available free. Perfect stay

Ήταν η καλύτερη επιλογή δωματίου που θα μπορούσα να έχω στο Εδιμβούργο! Μου έδωσαν ένα πολύ ευρύχωρο δωμάτιο στον πρώτο όροφο, με ανακαινισμένο ιδιωτικό μπάνιο. Από την πρώτη στιγμή ένιωσα σαν βασίλισσα! Το δωμάτιο ήταν άνετο, καθαρό και ακριβώς όπως το ήθελα. Η τοποθεσία ήταν εξαιρετική, με στάση τοπικής συγκοινωνίας δίπλα και σούπερ μάρκετ ακριβώς απέναντι, κάτι που έκανε τη διαμονή μας ακόμη πιο εύκολη. Τα σεντόνια και οι πετσέτες αλλάζονταν κάθε δύο ημέρες, γεγονός που δείχνει την προσοχή που δίνεται στην καθαριότητα. Ιδιαίτερη αναφορά αξίζει στον νεαρό της ρεσεψιόν, ο οποίος ήταν πάντα χαμογελαστός, ευγενικός και πρόθυμος να βοηθήσει. Επικοινωνούσαμε μέσω WhatsApp οποιαδήποτε στιγμή και μας καθοδηγούσε άμεσα σε ό,τι χρειαζόμασταν, κάνοντάς μας να νιώθουμε πραγματικά ευπρόσδεκτοι. Αν ξαναεπισκεφθώ το Εδιμβούργο, θα επιλέξω χωρίς δεύτερη σκέψη το ίδιο κατάλυμα και φυσικά θα το προτείνω σε φίλους και γνωστούς. Μια πραγματικά υπέροχη εμπειρία!

Tutto perfetto!!! Personale gentilissimo e disponibilissimo, colazione fantastica (cereali, latte, thè, biscotti ... tutto pulitissimo). Camera pulita e molto spaziosa. Posizione super, vicinissimo ai mezzi per il centro. Il quartiere di Leith è la vera Edimburgo!! Consigliatissimo!!!

De locatie en de ontvangst / hulp is perfect. Bus stopt voor de deur. Verder was alles super schoon en verzorgd. Leuk ook de samenwerking met een café verderop voor ontbijt en de gezamenlijke ruimte beneden.

Nette Pension in einem schönen alten Haus mit individuellen Zimmern. Sehr gut mit der Straßenbahn zu erreichen, hält fast vor der Tür. Es gibt auch die Möglichkeit, selbst Frühstück zu machen, viele Zutaten sind da. Und was fehlt, kann man zu fast jeder Tageszeit im COOP gegenüber kaufen. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal.

L’ambiente mi ha impressionato favorevolmente per la pulizia, il bagno praticamente era nuovo. Lo staff, Silvia in particolare che ha risposto alle mie richieste, è stato molto gentile e veloce nel rispondere alle mie richieste e nel fornirmi consigli utili. La struttura non si trova in centro, però è a due passi dalla fermata dei bus che portano verso la stazione ferroviaria e le maggiori attrazioni. Eventualmente, si può raggiungere il centro facendo una bellissima passeggiata immersi nel verde sulla riva del fiume.

We had a very friendly welcome by Eric. The accommodation has character, is very comfortable and clean. Love the ‘community hub’ feel being able to sit and have a cuppa or breakfast in the arrival/dining room. Although breakfast isn’t officially provided there are breakfast items you can help yourself to and an option of leaving a tip in a jar which we felt was a lovely touch! Location fab- bus stop outside with regular buses into the city centre and trams. The communication pre arrival was great too, all questions answered immediately. Would highly recommend.

Una casa tipica con ambiente comune e stanza con bagno super confortevole, vetrate a vista molto belle. Accoglienza del personale, pulizia e ordine sono i punti forti di questa struttura. L’ambiente comune al piano terra è stata una piacevole sorpresa: lo staff mette a disposizione tutto per fare colazione in autonomia (latte, cereali, biscotti etc.), credevamo che non fosse inclusa e invece questa soluzione è stata perfetta!

Nulla, se torneremo ad Edimburgo soggiorneremo di nuovo qui sicuramente!

Wspaniałe miejsce na nocleg w Edynburgu. Ciche, bardzo czyste pokoje. Blisko do autobusów by przejść się w centrum, jak również blisko ścieżki by przejść się do centrum wśród zieleni. Prowadzący lokal uczynni i bardzo gościnni.

This is a fantastic place, for a value and budget place I thought I sacrificed the “ location” when I was booking it. I booked my stay almost 9 months in advance and we stayed for 9 nights. It turns out there was no sacrifice.. Eric was in constant communication with me. The property had 9.2 rating at the time of my booking and I just was looking something safe and clean to stay within a walking distance if I wanted to walk. We got much more. We had the largest room - super king and it is wonderful. It is very spacious and has a super king bed. The room has always been exceptionally clean. Their toiletries are nice as well. You can just walk out of the guesthouse and there is bus stop 7 that takes you to the center. They picked up my laundry for me because I could not make it during the business hours. Eric also reminded me about it too- becusse we discussed it several months prior. Part of me didn’t want to bother them but he reminded me! Eric went out on the street to ensure we can find the place in the evening when we arrived. Who will do this for you? He took our luggage for us even though it wasn’t much trouble for us - only two flights of stairs and I was traveling with a 21 year old son. It is above and beyond. We also met Lucas a coupe mornings and he ensured our laundry was going to be done on the same day not the next day. Where else are going to get this? I do hope their Booking rating will go up to 9.8 very soon. All the best.

Kind of a far walk to all the happenings (old town/new town edinburgh). But Uber rides to those areas were cheap so not really an issue.

Wow amazing stay, highly recommend. Staff were great (helped me when I locked myself out of my room 🤦‍♀️). Kitchen and bathroom were stocked with goodies. Room was very clean. Bus stop very close by to get into the city!!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour : accueil chaleureux, maison propre et cosy, très belle chambre spacieuse avec un grand lit. Des arrêts de bus sont à proximité pour rejoindre le centre ville. On peut aller à pied jusqu'à la mer et le yacht royal ou jusqu'à la promenade de Leith. Dans la chambre, nous avions tous les jours de l'eau fraîche, des sachets de the, de café, des petits gâteaux. On peut prendre un petit déjeuner dans la cuisine commune (des céréales, pain, chocolat, confiture, beurre, fruits, petits gâteaux sont à votre disposition) ou chauffer son plat et manger si vous souhaitez dîner à la maison. Un frigidaire commun est également disponible. Merci beaucoup aux propriétaires pour leur gentillesse et leur bonne humeur ! Nous reviendrons.
