Lantern Hill & Hollow

Our unit was right next to the beach. I heard the waves hitting the shore when I went to sleep and woke up in time to watch a spectacular sunrise.

The place was perfect—beautifully appointed, excellent amenities (including outdoor seating and an indoor gas “fireplace”).

Location and views! Also, the L'Occitaine bath products were a nice touch!

Creamer instead of powder would have been better for the coffee. We only stayed 1 night but if we stayed longer and wanted to prepare meals at the property, it was a bit under-stocked. Also it was very expensive and there seemed to be a lot of add-ons to the price.

The view and siting of cabins was fabulous! Could not be bettered.

We booked the stay on same day in August. The kitchen facilities were so poor that we struggled to cook 2 frozen pizzas.

We loved our overnight stay wish we stayed longer. This is a perfect location. Has an outdoor hot tub access to the beach prefer walks also close to restaurants

Curățenie bună și paturi confortabile, însă lipsesc elemente practice (cuier sau suport pentru prosoape). Curățenia nu s-a făcut dimineața, nu s-au schimbat prosoapele și nu s-au reumplut cafeaua și ceaiul, lucru dezamăgitor raportat la preț.

The location was superb. The bungalow was beautifully laid out with two bedrooms and a nice kitchen. The gardens were beautifully laid out and the beach was on our doorstep. Parking was great, right next-door to the bungalow. It

Very minor points. A missing hairdryer. And PS not the propertie’s fault at all, you take your own groceries because there’s a lack of grocery stores close.

The location is excellent, right on the beach. The property is very peaceful and encourages relaxing. I suggest buying your groceries before arriving, as the one grocery store in town is not that large.

No staff, difficult to reach staff. At over $500/night, there should be more personal services. There was no book giving suggestions for dining, acivities, recommended hikes, etc. No welcome basket. Nothing extra.

The location is incredible. Very peaceful, right in the beach. Nice set up, very clean, kitchen stock is ok.

I did not like the impersonal nature of the self check in. I received the emailed instructions after i had left for my trip and di not see it before I arrived. Also I called twice and got voice mail both times.

Die gepflegte Anlage liegt wunderschön. Das Zimmer war großzügig geschnitten, hatte einen tollen Balkon, und man konnte bei geöffneter Balkontür hervorragend und absolut ruhig schlafen. Für das fehlende Frühstück lässt sich leicht guter Ersatz in wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto finden. Parken kann man auf dem Grundstück sehr gut.

Es ist schon so, dass man im Vorfeld viele Mitteilungen bekommt. Leider gibt es dann keine Reaktion mehr, wenn man wirklich etwas braucht. Ein so Internet affines Haus sollte den Gästen auch ein ordentliches WLAN zur Verfügung stellen und die Verbindung des Laptops mit dem Fernsehbildschirm ermöglichen. Ein wackeliger Garderobenständer ist auch kein Ersatz für einen Kleiderschrank.

Nobody is on sight and check in is just walking into the room that has your name on the door and your key is inside the room. Coffee maker wouldn’t work as it was showing it needed descaling. Looked up on line how to bypass this and after rebooting program were able to use.

Private balcony with an incredible view.

The location was perfect, the two cottages were clean, modern, and perfect for our golf group of 8 people. Unfortunately it was a short stay for us, we arrived late at night, and had to leave early morning for golf. So we didn't get to experience the cottage, amenities, and gorgious location as much as we would like. I'll be back for sure and hope to have an extended stay next time to take advantage of the lovely property at Lantern Hill & Hollow and its amazing location on North Ingonish Beach ⛱️🥰 ... the Staff accommodated our check in and check out seamlessly given our late check in and early check out. Sorry I didn't even have the chance to meet the staff and at least say Hello, our tee times were calling 😉.

I misunderstood the book and thought I had booked a cottage down by the water. My mistake in my rush to plan. Just double check as the pictures do not clearly separate the cottages from the rooms.

My wife and I were accommodated in the White Sands Suite of the main building. The accommodation was pristine, bright and airy. The king size bed had 2 single quilts on it and it was the first time in years that i was not accused of hogging the covers! The bed itself was very comfortable with memory foam mattress and pillows, and the quiet location of the property certainly enabled a good nights sleep. The bathroom and sitting room area were large, and there was a large television and coffee machine available. The property frontage leads onto the beach which was perfect for a stroll at early o'clock or late evening.

The only negative thing about the accommodation is the fact that there is no reception area or staff. Booking in and out is done online and lacks a personal touch. If it hadn't been for the gardener and housekeeper we wouldn't have seen any staff members.

The suite was comfortable and well appointed and the view was good.

Having to lug suitcases up the stairs but that is our only criticism. Breakfast would have been nice because nothing was open in the area. Good job we brought cookies!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We chose it for the location (right on the beach) and for the privacy (a stand-alone cottage). The room we got was bigger than we needed (two rooms) but it was worth it for the beach access and privacy. We loved that we could hear the waves all night and we loved having drinks and coffee on the deck in the evening and morning. We were also really impressed by the cottage itself. The pictures don't show how nice the cottage is--it's modern and cozy, with many nice touches that you can't see in the pictures. The kitchen is beautiful and our cottage was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend staying here.

The price is a little high for only two people. There are two bedrooms, so we were splurging for sure. With four people, the price is more affordable. Hotels are expensive nowadays, so we didn't mind paying more considering the beauty and amenities of the location.

Spacious room and separate living area was very nice.

Would’ve been nice to have been provided with additional towels to use with the hot tub. Or robes. Also the toilet was not entirely clean on arrival.

The property was well landscaped and the location is outstanding. I would recommend it to my friends.

The twin mattress was a bit too hard in the second bedroom.

This was one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. It's directly on a fabulous beach and has lovely gardens. The cottage itself is lovely, clean, and well equipped. The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate us when we encountered a problem with our booking. What was initially looking to be a disaster turned into the best stay ever, and made my daughter's birthday very special. We're SO grateful to Lantern Hill and would absolutely LOVE to go back. It's heaven. Thank you!!

A beautiful setting; we had the White Sands Suite which was so comfortable and pretty. Beautiful views. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

It would be nice if there was a continental breakfast on site, but I highly recommend Main Street Restaurant.

The accommodation is in a beautiful spot & is immaculately maintained. We enjoyed a quiet walk along the beach each morning before breakfast. We had a large apartment & although we ate out for dinner, we would have liked a more formal seating area for breakfast. However, the apartment was very spacious & well equipped. Our room didn’t have a balcony or terrace, so we used the communal outdoor seating to enjoy a drink overlooking the sea.

The apartment is self check-in which was efficient. The housekeeping staff arrived each morning & sat on the veranda until their start time & were not particularly friendly & their conversations were not complimentary about the accommodation.

With only 1 bathroom to share between 2 rooms it would have been nice to have a mirror in each bedroom for hair drying and make up. Also, in one of the bedrooms there was no drawers or shelving to unpack into.

The cabin was in the wonderful location just on the beach. The cabin was clean, very well equipped and comfortable and the staff very friendly. We would highly recommend it.

Amazing property, right on a beautiful beach, with great views of the ocean, peaceful atmosphere. You hear the ocean from your room or chalet. Very well kept premises, with a lush garden and roses. The rooms are well kept, well decorated, modern and clean, comfortable beds. Restaurants nearby. We’ll be back!

Faye, our host, was exceptional, as were the staff. Extremely accommodating and responsive. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

Hot tub was too complicated to book.

The roaring surf and falling snow were a constant reminder that we were on the edge of the North Atlantic. But our cozy warm cottage at Lantern Hill and Hollow was the perfect place for an “evening in” on the 48th anniversary of our first date - with a good meal, glass of wine and a movie. Thanks for making this day special!
