Reviewed Aug 5, 2026Great for nature lovers… Not like anything else you’ll find in Beaufort West. Very comfortable and scenic.
The location on booking.com was deceiving… far off… Make sure you go in from Beaufort West. I hope that the owners will update the exact location, or send better directions in future.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026The attention to small details. But what stood out was Miemie's welcoming and making sure that we were settled in. What added further detail was the personal touch when the evening staff checked in to see if everything was in order, what time we were leaving, and whether we needed any assistance. This small gesture made a great impression; although it serves the lodge, it holds meaningful value for the visitor.
It is a beautiful section of the Karoo, situated in a valley on the way to Loxton. I believe there is more to be done from an eco-tourism point of view, and this should be promoted more, understanding that the roads are not of the best; game drives should be an option, as we saw springbok, rooibok, and giraffes.

The place was very cosy and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the buck and giraffes trekking past us at night. The beds were comfortable.
There was lots of rain, which they cannot predict, but I think they should warn us in advance that there is a possibility of you not being able to use the 4x4 route, which is one of their drawcards.
The water pressure in our shower was not great at all. In the heart of winter, the last thing you want is a shower with low pressure and lukewarm water.

Reviewed Apr 17, 2026We had a mechanical breakdown on a motorcycle the Saturday morning and wasn’t able to reach Ko Ka Tsara.Booking was made the Friday night at 20:15 and we tried to cancel the Saturday morning just before 08:00 they refused any refund or date change.The booking was not refundable but I feel they could have made a effort to understand our dilemma as there were no loss on their part.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026Buitengewoon goed geaccommodeerd chalet in een prachtige omgeving. Braai gelegenheid bij ieder huisje. De te bestellen braaipaketten zijn van een uitstekende kwaliteit; het ontbijt dat in de algemene ruimte gebruikt wordt is gevarieerd. Naast een zwembad is er een full licensed courtesy bar. Op het terrein zijn een aantal trails waarbij we veel wild hebben gezien o.m. giraffen. Op onze eerste avond waren er tientallen impala’s aan het grazen op het veld voor de chalets. Het is een paradijselijke omgeving. De bedrijfsleidster Miemie was bijzonder behulpzaam, evenals de rest van het personeel.
Er zou een strikte policy moeten zijn waarbij gasten die honden meenemen deze ten alle tijden aan de lijn moeten houden om te voorkomen dat deze wanneer ze loslopen andere gasten hinderen en eventueel aanwezig wild verjagen. Dit zou duidelijk moeten zijn in de verstrekte informatie over de accommodatie. We hebben op dit punt vervelende ervaringen gehad met 3 loslopende labradors van gasten in een naburig chalet. Management heeft de situatie kunnen corrigeren.

Reviewed Mar 8, 2026Sehr gut eingerichtetes und bequemes Chalet. Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen mit der Beobachtung von Impalas und Springböcken, die am Abend direkt vor dem Chalet grasten. Ausserdem hat es Giraffen auf dem Gelände. Sehr freundliches Personal. In 20 Minuten Autofahrt ist man im Karoo NP.

Reviewed Mar 3, 2026The location ,the staff,the surroundings were all great .We ordered meat for the braai which came quickly and was so easy.
We wanted some sauces to go with it and Miemie got some immediatly. Very attentive!
Animals roam around freely, seen giraffes, tortoises and antelopes.
The chairs on the patio were rather uncomfortable if you sat for a while. Also missed some sunloungers near the lodge.

Die Cottages sind mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt.
Wir haben uns auch für das Frühstück am Morgen entschieden.

Reviewed Jan 21, 2026Friendly and attentive staff, clean and well maintained. The facilities were very good considering it was a Busch camp. We loved hanging by the pool. There was so much nature around us - saw giraffes, multiple tortoises, impala, buck, warthog, baboons, etc. The stars were beautiful but be prepared to be surrounded by some friends! The braai packs were delicious as well. Everyone slept very well (even our insomniacs)
We enjoyed most everything - there is a lot of animal poop on the grounds so just be mindful of that. Coming into camp involves a 3-4 km dirt path that is a bit rocky but manageable if you have a vehicle with reasonable clearance (probably not a low clearing sedan). The in unit kitchen facilities are a bit limited (air fryer or oven and a hot plate depending on which chalet you are in) however you have everything you need to braai.

Reviewed Jan 5, 2026The Location was great. outside the main city and next to the Karoo national park. it was quiet and peaceful. animals on the lawn from Tortoises, warthog and impala plus the odd Giraffe.

Unglaublich schön in die Natur eingebunden! Bei der Anreise sind wir hautnah an den Giraffen vorbeigefahren! Der Wanderweg ist auch sehr schön mit Sichtung von kudus, Antilopen, Affen und natürlich wieder Giraffen , Abends grillen mit impalas! Das bestellte grillfleisch und der Salat waren toll!
Das Frühstück war sehr lieblos und dafür auch nicht günstig. Leute haben ihre Hunde im Pool schwimmen lassen!
