The Saga Hotel Hoi An

Service was so friendly and always timely. Staff were genuinely concerned about us. Beds comfortable, air con fantastic in that humidity. We loved our time at the Saga.

Nothing to say. We would have loved an iron, but it seems standard throughout Vietnam to not include in rooms. Apart from this, everything was perfect.

We loved Everything we changed from another hotel at short notice. We left very early in the morning for a flight and they even gave us a breakfast box to take. Girl at front of desk was the most helpful of our entire trip. I fully recommend this boutique hotel, you wont be disappointed. The Saga bar was also very good and a great setting. Rooms very clean and spacious.

TOUT. L'emplacement de l'hôtel, entre les plages et la vieille ville. Une navette gratuite est mise à disposition pour les 2 destinations à certains horaires. Au pire, avec un Grab pour pas cher du tout. Tout le personnel est adorable, bienveillant et serviable. Au niveau équipements, il y a tout ce qu il faut. Très très bon petit déjeuner. Nous avons dîné à 2 reprises, les plats étaient délicieux, à un prix raisonnable. Vraiment un excellent rapport qualité prix pour cet établissement, nous y reviendrons.

We loved how bright and clean our room was. Our bed was so comfortable. The staff was amazing. Shout out to Nhung who helped us all throughout- with tips on how to get to Old Town, arranging activities, which tailor to go to, etc. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet. While it was about a 10 minute ride to Old Town, it is close to the rice fields that you get to bicycle through if you book the cooking class that includes the market visit and bike ride.

Shower didn't have a door.

Hôtel très confortable, hors de la vieille ville et donc très calme. Service de navette gratuite pour la plage ou la vieille ville très pratique et apprécié! Le petit-déjeuner, la très grande piscine, le bar, la salle de sport sont superbes! Mention spéciale pour le personnel qui fait tout pour vous rendre service. Nous avions par exemple oublié un sac alors que nous étions déjà à la gare de Danang pour repartir, l'hôtel nous a trouvé une moto-taxi et nous a tenu informé tout le long du trajet afin que nous récupérions le sac à la gare, avant notre voyage. Vraiment, un grand merci pour ce beau séjour!

Great location out of the busy city but easy to get in and out either by Grab, the hotel shuttle or we walked in to Hoi-An sometimes 20-25 minute walk. Good location to bike to paddy fields and to get away easily for trips to Danang and local attractions. A good pool area to relax after day trips and an excellent breakfast bar. Cold water, snacks and cans of soft drink restocked each day was a nice added extra

Good room but bathroom strangely needed updating (but our teenagers room next door had a brand new bathroom which was excellent ). A few more beds around the pool would be even better.

Posizione ottima, camera ampia e spaziosa. Cambio di asciugamani due volte al giorno (per la camera Suite), piscina pulita e teli sempre a disposizione. La colazione buona.

Eravamo nella struttura durante una ristrutturazione di una parte dell’hotel e purtroppo avevamo il cantiere attaccato alla finestra della camera. La camera poteva avere un ricircolo di aria migliorabile.

La piscine petite surpeuplée et 6 transats à disposition sans compter les 5 les pieds dans l’eau. les toilettes de la piscine cracra. Attention à la chambre avec vue sur un mur à 2 mètres.

De vriendelijkheid van het personeel en het warme welkom hebben wij als zeer prettig ervaren. Je voelde je echt gast en kreeg dagelijks persoonlijke aandacht. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en perfect.

Eigenlijk niks. Er waren wat weinig zwembadbedjes, maar de ruimte die ervoor was was dan ook optimaal benut.

Everything was great.

Personeel is zo behulpzaam en heeft ons geholpen met excursies (coconut village en met een golfkarretje het platteland op) en transfer naar een ander hotel. De kamer was een dikke prima al zou het fijner zijn als je iets meer privacy hebt op de balkons. De trap loopt er naast. De gym was ook fijn. Ontbijt ook prima, maar niet het beste wat we ooit hebben gehad in Vietnam. Je kan zelf cappuccino zetten, maar verwacht geen Salted coffee bijvoorbeeld. Fruit vond ik wat matig, bijna nooit mango en veel harde stukjes eraan. De beachclub was heerlijk, had achteraf echt aan het strand willen zitten.

Het zwembad vonden we nogal klein met nauwelijks ligbedden. Dat zou voor ons de reden zijn om dit hotel niet meer te boeken. We zijn meer van de grote hotels en resorts. Wat ook heel irritant was, dat er nauwelijks een grab te boeken viel doordat de afstand te kort was. In Hoi An is dit echt problematisch. Chauffeurs cancelen telkens de rit hierdoor. Ik zou dus om deze reden verder weg gaan zitten.

Clean and accommodating

The hotel is quite big and was fully booked whilst we were there, but staff were very professional and made sure to assist us in any way they could and to remember who we were, which was impressive. The hotel is very nice and our rooms were well equipped, clean and spacious. One of our rooms was on the 1st floor facing a busy road and traffic noise and music from the reception (which was just below the room) and despite the ear plugs provided by the hotel, the noise coming from the road in particular was intrusive. They were not able to allocate us a different room on the first day, but we were moved on our second day to a room on the 5th floor so away from reception and the traffic noise was much reduced at this height. I really appreciate the care they took to apologise for the noise and they provided us with a fresh fruit platter in our new room and when we checked out they gave us a couple of lanterns as a way of apology too. I think this was very thoughtful and we appreciated how they managed our request to be moved. The breakfast is extensive, there is almost anything you could wish for, wonderful cold and hot Vietnamese dishes, pastries, egg, cereal, bread, fruit and yogurt. The pool is nice and well used by families staying in the hotel. The hotel also has a bar with a pool table and table football which was a nice space to spend an hour. A very nice hotel with excellent staff and an amazing breakfast.

The hotel provides a shuttle to a private beach club 15min drive away, but when we arrived were told that there we no chairs left on the beach (the earliest you can get there by hotel shuttle bus is 11.20am) and if we wanted a bed/chair area by the pool that the minimum spend on food and drink was 1million VND. That is by Vietnamese standards a lot. We stayed and spent the required million VND, but in hindsight not sure that this was worth it. Hoi An is the most touristy place we visited in Vietnam and at times this detracted from our enjoyment as you feel hassled from street vendors and restaurant staff and prices were significantly higher in Hoi An than other places in Vietnam as a result. Be ready for huge crowds of tourists in the Old Town.

Der var meget crouded ved poolen… der var meget få liggestole og ikke meget mulighed for at ligge andre steder.

Room was a good size, facilities were clean, new, and luxe, and staff kindly provided us with a free upgrade, free breakfast, and credit towards laundry and food! They even have shuttle buses to A Bang Beach where they have free beds at a beach club and shuttle buses to Old Town.

The hotel was clean, well organised and decorated stylishly. What stood out for us was the exceptional service excellence from every staff member - best we have ever experienced in our travels.

Het ontbijt was heerlijk! Het hotel zit er erg schoon en nieuw uit. Het zwembad is heerlijk! En er is happy hour op cocktails en bier. De kamers zijn groot en erg schoon! We zouden hier zeker terug komen!

De locatie van dit verblijf was helemaal top! En ook het personeel was zo lief en behulpzaam. Je kon gebruik maken van een gratis shuttle naar old town en naar het strand waar zij een hele leuke strand tent hebben. Ook was het erg schoon en een fijne hotelkamer met 2 kids!

The property was clean. It was easy to get either to old town or the beach. The location had enough around. The staff were accommodating and kind.

I liked that it was a little away from the business of Hoi An.

The rooms weren't clean especially the one with the 3 single bed. The bathroom tub had mold including the shower curtains. It smelt like musky old moldy furniture.

Utrolig hyggeligt og nærværende hotel. Personalet kunne efter få dage huske vores værelses nummer og personlige præferencer til mad og drikke. Vi elsker Diem, hun er så sød og smilende. Beliggenheden lidt uden for old Town var virkelig rart, da det gav mulighed for ro. Der er flere gode spise steder i gå afstand, som vi fandt via Google Maps. Vi vil helt sikkert besøge The Saga Hotel, hvis vi kommer til Hoi An igen.

Værelserne ud mod vejen kan virke støjende hit nogen, men så kan man vælge værelse mod poolen.

The room was very spacious! We fit 3 people comfortably and even had living room space. The bathroom as well was very spacious. The room was modern and renovated. The restaurant was very good and the food delicious. We ended up having lunch there almost everyday.

Location is "far" from the center to go on foot in the heat, but very accesible with the bikes and grab ( 4 minutes tops) The shower is at the same level with the rest of the bathroom (which is common in Vietnam), so even though that there is a glass separation, the floor gets wet (since the bathroom is spacious, at least it is not all the floor) First night there was a family in the room above us, so we could hear the kids running, but it did not interfere with our rest, because the noise stopped by 8 pm.

A very pleasant stay! The staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and always willing to help. The hotel has good facilities, and the swimming pool is clean and relaxing. Great value for money, great breakfast and I would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

The staff were so amazing - the best of any hotel we've stayed at. Really kind and always there to help. Took the time to learn names and make the experience personal. Location is perfect - easy Grab to either the beach or the old town but peaceful with local restaurants nearby if you want to relax. Food in the hotel was excellent - breakfast and dinner. The room was large and perfect for our family. Pool was lovely. The hotel grounds were beautiful - particularly at night. The mini fridge (beer, diet coke, crisps) is my perfect snack selection!! Would definitely recommend.

The kids corner was unusable. Our room was a bit tired. It was also next to the gardeners so had more traffic outside and maybe some local (creepy crawly) guests because of this.

Everything was great except for one thing: people would reserve sun loungers by leaving their towels on them and then disappear for hours. As a result, many loungers remained empty, but no one else could use them.

The pool and rooms are lovely. Good location. Breakfast had lots of variety.

Staff need a lot more training in customer service. Felt very inpersonal. They advertise a kids club. There wasn’t one. Which is the reason we booked. So that was disappointing.

All of it was wonderful. The staff, the facilities, the boutique feel of the hotel. We were well taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs and even organized a free transfer for our group of 13 to our next accommodation. Absolute rock stars.

Attention to detail from the staff who are helpful. Rooms are nice and clean, good air-conditioning, decent shower pressure. Cleaned daily and relatively promptly. Good breakfast which rotated enough. Amenities, complementary services and discounts for add-ons are appreciated.

Really nitpicking, but the transport to the beach were not great in timing. No door on the shower stall meant bathroom could get wet.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Saga for our family. All the staff are so welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay so comfortable. Everything is so clean, the pool is beautiful, the buffet breakfast is delicious, and the gym has everything you need. It has been the highlight of our Vietnam trip.

What I liked: We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests had a great experience. The restaurant is excellent, and the breakfast is outstanding, with delicious pastries, great Vietnamese coffee, and a wide selection of both Western and Asian dishes. The hotel itself is charming, with beautiful, clean, and well-equipped rooms. It truly feels like a little oasis. We also appreciated the shuttle service to the town center and the complimentary bicycles, which were in very good condition and perfect for exploring the area.

Guests looking for complete peace and quiet should be aware that the hotel can be quite noisy in the morning. Street-facing rooms are exposed to traffic noise, including scooters and horns. Pool-facing rooms may also be affected, as the hotel is very family-friendly and the pool opens at 6:30 a.m. During our stay, children were often playing and shouting early in the morning, which disturbed our sleep. That said, the hotel was very understanding and did its best to address the issue and make the rest of our stay as enjoyable as possible. One final note: there is a noticeable gap under the room door, so noise from the corridor can be heard, especially in the morning when housekeeping begins.

Everything was great but the staff really made this an amazing stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and every time it was with a smile! The room, in my opinion (because my bf said the opposite 😆) had an amazing smell of lemongrass.. a spa like scent! I loved that it didn’t smell like a usual hotel room or cigarettes. The location was perfect- about 20-25 min walk to the old town; and beaches were just as close… or a quick drive.. poise they had shuttles that take you to the old town or beaches! The street it was on had plenty of shops also. The buffet breakfast was really good! Had plenty of options both traditional foods and continental breakfast options. The pool was comfortable, wish it had a few more pool chairs (but thank god we weren’t there during high season 😆).
