Have to walk right round from car park with luggage . Not nice If raining or tired from work. Have doorways at back bit say have to go to main entrance. Dont have gf bread available for bfast .

I liked kind staff who helped with luggage and stored my luggage and bike before we checked in. The location, (near the no 2 and bus stop) lounge and garden at the back were lovely on the sunny day we arrived and the following day when we left. We also liked the garden room we were given. We thought the price good amd we were made to feel welcome including when my cycling friends arrived on the island next morning and were able to join us and buy breakfast which which for us was included. There is room for some updating and some maintenance but I am sure that is in hand.

Sorry to see it had been necessary to put up a notice reminding guests to treat hotel staff with respect. I agreed with your fair responses to some negative comments on here - hope you like these better.

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good secure parking in locked shed for bicycles. Big car park to rear so safe for motorcycles (or, being the IoW on a BH weekend, scooters). Nice breakfast. Nice large lounge with well stocked and well priced bar.

It’s a bit tired,basic and dated but typical of a uk seaside town b&b. But, for the money, it was absolutely fine and I would happily stay again.

The garden room could be a lovely space but it was very dated and shabby, very neglected, holes in the net curtains and a leaking shower from floor above, in dire need of a complete overhaul in my opinion

Closeness to seafront/ferry to discover Ryde. For this 2 night visit that was all..

Size of room. 32. Window too close to another room at 90 degrees and they were able to see in. No opaque window covering for privacy even just half way up. Blind to pull down but restricted daylight and a very nice view across to the East. Tired looking decoration: poor wall coverings in reception, not professional for a front desk and could be smarter. Lounge was okay. Breakfast delicious! The shower too small. It was an off shoot room iup two extra steps,

The stay was very comfortable and generally peaceful in the heart of the Ryde town centre with good range of transport links to other destinations on the island. I would highly reccommend this to friends or family!

For the summer there could of been a fan in the room which is a suggestion to make sure guests remain cool during any heat spells. There weren't many places to sit down within the comfined room space.

Great experience from start to finish. The Dorset was very clean with fresh towels, toiletries, bottled water etc daily and far more than expected, which was great ! Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were friendly, fun and treated us like family. Super experience here !

Bed was very comfortable, it was quiet, though you can hear activity in the room above in the morning, lighting and room facilities ok, reception and housekeeping staff very nice, location is good - very near to Ryde town centre but also near pretty residential streets. Cosy and sunny breakfast room.

The taps in the basin didn't work properly (the room was not en-suite) the cushions on the beds slightly grubby. I didn't have breakfast there as they didn't have oat milk

Las instalaciones necesitan una mejora y algo de limpieza. Nuestro baño tenía un labavo de casita de muñecas y para lavarse la cara, tenías que poner una toalla en el suelo para no llenarlo de agua. El suelo del baño estaba pegaloso.

The staff were lovely and friendly. The breakfast, which was included in the package was very nice with enough options to choose from. The location, being very near the beach and shops was ideal. A small walk to get to them. The beda were comfortable. The rooms had some minor defects, such as ripped wallpaper and marks on the bedside table, but none of that affected my stay

The shower wasn't powerful enough for me, but was still usable.

Absolut fantastisch ist das Personal: zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und immer freundlich! Das Hotel selbst ist ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber es ist ein typisches englisches Bed&Breakfast mit gutem Frühstücksangebot, sauber und guten Betten.

The place is very clean and good for the price. It's easy to walk there from the port station. The breakfast is included, it was a pleasant surprise for us. The bus stations are very close. People are very nice and let us leave belongings on the day of our departure.

There was a lack of air conditioning but we understand that +33 C° is not a regular experience for this location :)

Very tired building and very grubby looking with some areas in need of a good deep clean. Quite disgusting in places.

My room had a separate toilet that I was told was just for me but 2 times someone was in it when I tried to use it but not a major issue

We were on a ground floor room as requested , very nice n comfortable .interesting history to the building it's self . We were well looked after . Breakfast was really good

Dirty carpets in Dining room .. and hand rail as the dining room is in a downstairs room . It is an old building , but why carpets in a dining room ?

Breakfast is cooked to order with a good menu. We have stayed here many times over the years and the standard of everything is consistent, good parking and near both the town and seafront.

Our room was quite small and very hot overnight, not the hotels fault!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. They were quick to respond to queries and made an effort to accommodate our needs.

The rooms are small, so if you are a couple travelling with largish suitcases, be prepared to be crowded in. There was a heat-wave when we got here and the small table fans did little to help! The shower sachets are really tiny and would need an upgrade.

This is an unpretentious hotel that offers very satisfactory accommodation at a very competitive price point. Michael was an attentive and amiable host.

Some areas could benefit from redecoration

We had a large garden room, comfortable and clean. Much appreciated during the 'heatwave'. Also, the bottles of water were very welcome. The hotel was in walking distance from the ferry and hovercraft terminal. Close to all amenities, cafes, restaurants, pubs. Not to be missed.....The Island Breezer, a fantastic open top bus tour around the island, It was so hot......we did it twice. The young lady bus driver was a fountain of knowledge and a real asset to tourism on the IOW, her name was Lou.

The lounge it’s not welcoming also bedroom specially the bed got some smell also through the window there’s a lot of noise. I think it’s cute or some animal. I couldn’t sleep.

Superb value. Everything I wanted - no silly unnecessary thrills, just a really good, honest little stay for a visitor/tourist. Would highly recommend for a walker, island tripper and would equally work if on business and wanting budget (budget as great value that is!). Thanks guys!

Room was on the second floor with small windows & it was very warm. Needed windows open but blinds kept banging on window frames. One curtain would be perfect.

While we understand that air conditioning is rare in older UK hotels a fan should have been provided in the room. The temperature in the UK hit a record of 37.6 C degrees.

Very sparse and old fashioned breakfast - very little for a vegan. But as expected for the price.

excellent hotel. room was large and comfy. all clean and everything you needed. the staff were exceptional and helpful. felt like older times where people had time for you. breakfasts were superb. location great - near the sea, near the shops and easy to walk to other parts of Ryde. The bus station and rail station not that far away either. There is a great on the beach restaurant not too far away either. The hotel is often fully booked so if you do see a space to stay there give it a try. Thanks to all the staff.

Worse hotel I have ever stayed. Unfortunately we didn’t like a thing about this hotel.

The hotel was too hot. They didn’t provide a single fan. We could not sleep a bit throughout the night. It was unbearable. Hotel wasn’t clean. Floor under the mat was broken in many spaces. The bed was so quacky. It felt like any moment it would break. Also the mattress was the worse. We woke up with backpain. Pillows were not comfortable. Room wasn’t good at all. The environment wasn’t pleasant at all. The service and staff wasn’t welcoming. Shower rooms filter was blocked. Water wasn’t passing through. Could not take shower properly. Breakfast was just okay. It could have been a lot better. The price we have paid didn’t even get half of it. I DON’T RECOMMEND this at all.

Breakfast delicious! I did not have an ensuite room but the shared bathroom/shower room was spotless! Bedlinen spotless and bed comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly

Premises had great history! Good, comfortable relaxing area near reception. Breakfast was great, good menu selection and varieties of teas and cereals, hot food was served very quickly and to our liking!

The location was good. It is close to shops, bars, cafes & restaurants. The room was clean. They'd left a fan on in the room (no air con & it was a very hot day)

1st impressions of the reception weren't good - New carpets are needed. It's dated. Nobody in 'reception' to meet us - we waited 5 minutes then rang the bell. When someone came she seemed annoyed with us for arriving 15 mins before check in time. (Traffic had been kind to us & sometimes rooms are ready early. However, all we really wanted to do was check if it was ok to leave the car in the car park while we went for food). When we came back to actually check in there wasn't anyone there again. We rang the bell & waited a while before someone came to us. The room was ok. It was clean & you could tell that they'd tried to slightly modernise it with nice wallpaper on 1 wall & a lovely chair in the corner. The drawers were damaged & there wasn't a wardrobe. Just a rail. The pillows are very flat. The bathroom was tiny. Small shower. We're both slim & there was little room. A larger built person would struggle. The shower was not very powerful pressure wise & it took a while to get it to the right temperature. We can't comment on the breakfast as we left early.
