I came in response to the offer of £65 for bed and breakfast per night. I had a very good room and any requests were responded to with no problem. Friendly welcome, as always before. A good additional short break.
Pass codes are all wrong 😑. If your station business don’t bother. 🥴
Nice room breakfast good hotel had a nice feel for an old hotel .it's good to keep these old hotels alive.charging for parking is a no no just make it first come first served.price not too bad as ferry included although deal I booked gave us 3 nights with one nights meal included .must say that food was good wife had the lamb I opted for the fish and chips wish I hadn't as was served a kiddies piece of fish.although I was annoyed decided to say nothing at the time .apart from that it was a pleasant enough stay but value wise probably too much .
We used the function room for a wake recently and the whole experience from arrangements to final settling up was managed with professionalism and exceptional customer service. Family and friends stayed at the Hotel and found the rooms and service of a high standard - although views slightly marred by the fog ! The finger buffet was really lovely, the attention to detail and service was just great - thank you all so much
Very warm and friendly welcome nothing was too much trouble Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean We loved Harry’s bar and the murder mystery was great fun which included an amazing two course meal all together brilliant time great value for money and would definitely recommend to friends and return
Have stayed at this hotel on numerous times and always enjoyed my stay,I must say the breakfast on Sunday was not that good quality
Lovely classic hotel. Nice breakfast included. The price was great for a double room but we had a little dog that added £25 to the cost of the room which I thought was a bit steep for a dog the size of a yorkie.
Just home after another excellent stay. Friendly and helpful people looked after us and gave the usual warm welcome. Lovely room, good food and comfortable surroundings. Thank you everyone for a great stay.
Brilliant stay . Room spacious and comfy. Staff really friendly and polite Value special offer including ferry crossing. Clean no noise service good In all a fabulous stay. the weather outside awful but inside hotel warm and friendly
Outdated, creaky hotel with no WiFi in rooms and no mobile reception. This hotel must have been great in the 1800’s but lacks basic services
Visited for an overnight stay, room was warm and comfortable although bathroom was small making the toilet difficult to use for the larger person. Breakfast was excellent and staff were all friendly and helpful
Super location, with “first class” helpful staff. Room was very cold for first night but temperature improved for second night. Location of wall-mounted electrical heater within the room was almost ineffective; as it was located in the corridor adjacent to entry door to room. An established hotel with dated decor nevertheless clean and comfortable and has a good atmosphere.
The staff are great! Welcoming, helpful and really lovely. The room was quiet, warm and very comfortable. We had a superb nights sleep! Spacious bathroom with a bath & plenty of hot water. Kettle with plenty of coffees, teas, hot chocolate sachets & milk. Harry's bar & the staff were also great. The hot breakfast and buffet breakfast are excellent value for money and yummy! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much!
After being let down at very short notice by another hotel for our AGM . The team at the Royal Esplanade provided us with the conference room . A three course meal for forty people , and lots of extras to ensure our AGM was a success . They achieved this in four days . The food was delicious, the service was excellent, the staff was professional and friendly. The rooms we stayed in was sparkly clean and very comfortable. Big Thankyou to Tracey , Daria , Lisa and Hannah . A real gem on our island.
Everything was great, staff happy and helpful, room very clean and well appointed, food perfectly cooked and tasty would recommend
The hotel is located on the seafront in Ryde opposite the Hoverport so easy to find if coming from the main land although I was there out of season the hotel was quite busy with most of the rooms booked, My room (41) was located on the 1st floor over a few stairs and around corners but after a few minutes I found it once inside the room it was very clean and well presented and staff were friendly ,polite and welcoming Breakfast was served in the main lounge with a cold buffet and hot menu
Lovely old fashioned hotel with proper door keys and breakfast cooked to order! Lovely homely atmosphere and the staff are very caring. Will undoubtedly return.
Went for a short winter break. The room was excellent. Lovely and warm seeing though it was January. Comfortable bed. Very nice en suite. The hotel building is quite grand and the breakfast room was beautifully set up. The coffee lounge served good coffee and cakes and the sofas were a great place to sit and watch the hovercraft leaving and arriving. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was brilliant and we also ate in the bar one evening where good hot food was served up at a very reasonable price. Great location close to the transport hub where trains, busses, ferries and the hovercraft can all be accessed. Am about to book another short break today. Thank you hotel.
Great location and so convenient buses rail and ferry connection which is ideal if you leave the car at home. It's a lovely Victorian hotel with large warm rooms and comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. The breakfast choice was great and service very quick. Special mention to Amelia our waitress who was a charming friendly young lady. Enjoyable 7 night stay. Only negative. Lounge seating very uncomfortable.
We paid extra for a Seaview room, well worth it! Friendly attentive staff, light and airy breakfast room with a good choice on the menu.
If I could give it 3.5 stars I would have done. 4 stars is on the generous side and 3 stars would be a bit mean considering the value and the points made below. Plus points: The owner and staff were pleasant and helpful. particularly regarding our little dog who I hope caused them no trouble in return for their kindness. The room and en suite were fine and the other sea facing views It was lovely to overlook the pier, hoverport, Portsmouth in the distance. - I suppose not everyone would like it this busy. The hotel was also ultra-convenient for transport to the other parts of the island - bus and train opposite. For those who travel light, it would be perfectly possible to come without a car, The breakfast was absolutely fine. Nothing fancy but everything we wanted. Minus points: Overall the hotel looks rather tired. As a tiny example, the front door really could do with a lick of paint. We stayed in January and the lunch/evening kitchen was closed - fair enough in Jan but we had received the wrong info about a bar meal being available. The panelled bar looked quite snug, by the way but I didn't partake. (and there was a good 7-day fish and chip shop 50 yards away.) .I booked based on the availability of a lift, which there was, but there were steps to the front door and more steps between the lift and the second floor room. Maybe it's my fault for not asking more questions. All in all, the price, the good standard of room and quality of breakfast made it an OK stay without being anything spectacular.
Great breakfast, nice room, staff really friendly and plenty of hot water for a bath or shower.
Great location, friendly welcome at reception, good atmosphere in Harry's bar where one can enjoy great real ale at a good price, clean room and a good breakfast. The staff are very friendly and that is why we go there every time we go to the Island
We stayed for the New Years Eve party we were a family group of 10 ,lovely food excellent service ,music good all in all a great night .Thankyou
BEST CHRISTMAS EVER We have just come back from the 4 night Christmas package deal. We had a fantastic time away, could not fault it. What a great team all working together to deliver a great Christmas. We have been to the Royal Esplanade on numerous occasions in the past, and they have the same staff. Mike, the owner was there helping and chatting to people, I think that was really nice. A big thank you to Hannah who sorted my wife's food allergies. Overall a 11 out of 10 Great job and we will be back soon. Many thanks again. Chris and Viv Green
We stayed over the Christmas period. The staff were extremely helpfull and friendly. The food, with the exception of High Tea on the 25th, was excellent . Our room was clean and warm, and the shower was superb 👌
As usual very homely very welcoming lovely room and bathroom. pay extra room 22 we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast , it has parking which is very useful. Thank you we will be back
Booked 3 rooms over a weekend for a friends wedding. Both bride and groom stayed too. The hotel was warm, welcoming. The rooms were as expected, clean, well prepared and inviting. The staff couldn't do enough for you especially the on female duty manager (sorry no name) and Tracey. Thanks you for a pleasant stay
Nice place, great location opposite the Hovercraft landing deck and Ryde pier. Comfy beds and nice staff. The room was very clean and well appointed. The breakfast was spot on.
Very friendly staff, lovely food, good sized room with sea view. Everything was excellent. No complaints at all. Would definitely stay here again
My sixth floor sea view room was a bit pricey for what you got, fortunately the tv didn't work so I was moved to second floor and a bigger room with a bath and bath robes, luxury 😀. Apart from filthy windows which spoilt the view all is fine. Breakfast ok. Staff excellent especially Hannah.
Room 10 lovely, modern and large. Room clean, at back so no special view, though if I saw the same rooftops in Italy I'd probably think it charming! Slept really well here. Staff great, always jolly and helpful. Beach, buses to rest of island, shops, and catamaran terminal all only 5 mins walk away. Astonishingly convenient for everything.
Excellent service with early access to rooms. Clean and tidy with great bar and breakfast. The staff cannot do enough to help at all times
royal esanade hotel Ryde Isle of Wight. The Brasserie cafe inside is a little hidden gem. Always welcomed by a friendly smile. You don’t need to stay here to eat/drink. Highly recommend not passing this place if you’re strolling down the esplanade.
A great location for a visit or two to RT Cafe’ Grill and Thompson’s restaurants but very good in its own right. The hotel has seen better days but it is very clean, has all that we need with the addition of incredibly helpful and obliging staff. We would certainly recommend the Royal Esplanade to anyone looking for a relaxing break in Ryde.
Stayed here for the weekend as part of an event. Just over the bridge from the Hovecraft. Checking in was very organised. The reception area and rooms were lovely and inviting. We had a triple room with sea-view. You can hear and see the hover craft !! The fan in the bathroom needs attention it’s so loud. The room was clean and comfortable with usual comforts bath robes, tea, coffee, shower gel etc. breakfast and diner provided. The food sometimes came warm but they had a full house to serve!! They the did offer to change if needed. They were all so lovely and friendly!!! Unfortunately ,they did have a leak along the corridor so you needed to step over a bucket . All in all a very pleasant stay
Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, hotel really interesting building with lots of nooks and crannies. Food very good. location is perfect too with easy access to seafront attractions, shops and travel. thoroughly recommend
Stayed at this hotel for the Soul And Reggae weekend. Great hotel had breakfast and dinner both of which were great. Good choices and nice and hot. Our room was a big size and the bathroom was modern. All the staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely be booking again next year which will be our third year at this hotel. Right opposite the hovercraft station so very handy. Tea coffee and water supplies with the kettle. Some basic toiletries.
We had a great weekend at the Royal Esplanade. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend to others
As always I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. I was given a good sea view room, which was comfortable and I enjoyed the meals I had and hope to come again sometime next year. A suggestion: at Breakfast there seemed to be a lack of high fibre cereals and at one point a shortage of marmalade, perhaps there could be a check on these. However, this is NOT a major complaint!
Stayed in room 18 for four nights no complaints and would certainly stay there again, I would also recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to stay in Ryde IoW . The staff are all smart and friendly and no thing is too much trouble. The dining room staff are particularly helpful and professional. My stay was with a coach trip and I feel that the kitchen staff require a special mention, for producing such a varied menu of the upmost quality. Now a word for housekeeping no complaints about the room however one bedside shelf is loose and requires tightening. The next comment is just an observation when leaving the bath tub after a shower a hand rail of some description on the right hand wall would be an asset. Well done the hotel an enjoyable stay.
This hotel is warm & welcoming. This is my go to for it is close to the buses, the hovercraft & the fastest offer many portions to see all the locals sighs
We would definitely recommend this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. You can sit in the lounge with a lovely Latte + cake and just relax. The only niggle would be, that there should be more vegetarian options available. 3 options for meat/fish eaters and 1 for a vegetarian. Simple things like quiche/pie etc need to be thought about. Besides that, we had a lovely time and hope to be back again one day. Thank you everyone.
Everything was good. Booked for next year already
Lovely hotel friendly staff clean room and perfectly situated highly recommend short walk to bars and restaurants very nice breakfast.
Booked as that's where the wedding was that we were attending. The room was very basic but a good quality shower. Breakfast was disappointing the full english wasn't hot, there was no fresh fruit or yogurt on the Saturday morning and only grapefruit and prunes on Sunday. The evening meal we had again wasn't as stated should have been sweet potato fries but was given ordinary fries with no explanation and the burger wasn't hot. I had asked if the apple pie was served hot I was told so I opted to have it with ice cream however the pie wasn't hot. The coffee wasn't very nice. However the staff were very pleasant the the function room for the wedding was lovely.
We booked three nights with breakfast to celebrate our wedding anniversay and travelled to the Island as foot passengers.. Max, who made our booking, was really helpful. He was on duty to welcome us on arrival too and again, went out of his way to ensure all was done to help. We were able to leave our bags as had arrived in the morning and check-in wasn't until three. Our room was lovely and the breakfast good - especially the ham and eggs!! Breakfast team were on it and ensured plates were cleared promptly - not like some establishments. The position of the hotel is perfect with the buses leaving opposite - which we were very grateful for when returning from a full on day! The shops in Ryde are good with many independents. I particularly loved the Victorian/Edwardian architecture and spent a whole afternoon wandering around taking photos. Worth going to the little cinema if there is anything on you wish to see. It only cost £4.50 and the quality of sound was excellent. I was thrilled to catch Downton Abbey! Loved the chocolate mints in a dish in reception for guest. I will book again just to enjoy this treat!! Thanks to everyone who looked after us. We look forward to seeing you guys again before too long!
My partner booked this hotel derelict with the hotel and payed extra. But on the form it asked any special request so we asked for a walk in shower has my partner has a bad leg. On getting there we had to carry 2 heavy cases up 3 flights of stairs and on walk in shower, so we asked the front office staff and got fobbed off and told the hotel full we should have booked derelict which we did 6 months before, and don't look at special requests they just care about coach bookings, and not other people we were staying. friends off ours were also staying had problems to.
Room was clean. Dinig options were excellent and flexible. All the staff were friendly, approachable and very helpful.
Very friendly and accommodating. Safe storage for our bikes. Staff attentive and helpful
This is a lovely hotel. All of the staff are helpful and friendly. The room was clean, quiet and the bed most comfortable. The breakfast was good, and the view from the dining room is a great way to start the day. I had visited the place on the previous Sunday for Sunday Lunch, which was excellent, and good value for the money. Had a coffee in the lounge area before heading to the ferry. The home made bread pudding is fantastic and recommended.
A great hotel with nice rooms and friendly staff. Check-in was easy and quick. A great location being close to the town centre, bus station, Hovercraft terminal and Pier for Catermaran boat services to Portsmouth. It would have been nice if the check in time could have been a little earlier, as 4pm is quite a late time to start check in otherwise everything else was excellent. The breakfast was nice as it was included in the price of the room and you had the choice of a full English breakfast.
Comfortable, convenient with large room, great view and very good breakfast. Staff are excellent!
Excellent location for public transport. Breakfast service good. No way of locking the bedroom from the inside. Must have been a grand hotel once.
Kelly provided outstanding service; she was polite, helpful, and a true pleasure to interact with
Nice hotel, a 3 or 3.5*. A bit dated, especially for the price. Nice room though imagine it’s cold in winter with the old windows. Bathroom seemed updated. Kettle and instant coffee and tea in the room. Breakfast included was ok, but still no decent coffee! Good location opposite the sea front and easy to walk to local areas. Friendly staff.
The breakfast room had flies flying around in it and the cooked breakfast was very basic. Hotel rooms were clean but outdated. The towel rail didnt work.
We booked a 'Premier Double SeaView' room but were very disappointed with the room. Granted it had a king sized bed and a sea view, but was in the attic with sloping ceilings. Getting out of one side of the bed required care to avoid banging your head on the ceiling. The bathroom was even worse, especially when using the shower over bath (banging your elbow was a risk, never mind your head!). The room was also very noisy (which to be fair we expected as it over looked a main road, railway and hover port), which could have been greatly reduced if the hotel had simply fitted double glazing. Fortunately the trains and hovercraft do not run overnight. Friends of our, staying at the same hotel, had requested a walk in shower when they booked online, but were also given a shower over bath. When they complained, they were told that staff did not usually read the addition requests section of the booking! Hotel was fully booked so a change of room was not possible for either us or our friends. Food and staff service was however, very good. Also very convenient for ferry and local transport services.
The room was lovely, clean and bright, the staff very friendly and attentive, breakfast was very nice and dinning room smart and clean. The only downside I found was having to hand the key in every time you went out, it was a bit of a pain having to queue to get the key when staff checking people in Saying that I would still stay again.
Disappointing: an attic room beside the clanging lift having asked for a quiet room and a loo in a bathroom that you had to sit sideways on as there was no room... Despite being forewarned there was no GF cereal available for coeliacs. Rather like an old folks' home. Faded glory... Convenient for transport links and restaurants.
For a day trip via Hovercraft to the IoW it was simply perfect!
Had a very comfortable stay, room was clean, staff were lovely and the food was fantastic, brilliant value for money and will stay again, perfectly located also for transport
We stayed for one night, the staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself was lovely and charming. Will stay again
We stayed for 2 nights at the end of August. We took advantage of a deal offered by Wightlink for 2 nights B&B with evening dinner on one of the nights with car ferry included. The price was good value. We emailed the hotel and booked a family room with a sea view and they booked the ferry for us. Housekeeping issues delayed us getting into our room until about 4.30 on the day but we were treated to a cup of tea in the comfortable lounge area by way of apology. Our room was on the 1st floor; there is a lift but we still had to negotiate a few stairs up, and then down(!) to get to it. Our room (26) was large with old, but perfectly adequate furniture, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had been completely refurbished and was clean and modern. Robes were provided. The large bay window afforded lovely views of the seafront and across the Solent. The only criticisms of the bathroom was a) the fan, activated by turning on the light, was extremely noisy and b) there was no stand or shelves to put toiletries. We had to put our toiletries bags on the floor. Breakfast was taken in the lovely front area with windows all around. Choice was good, the food was lovely and the service very good. Dinner was in the restaurant and again the choice was good, the food delicious and the service exceptional. We have stayed at this charming Victorian hotel before. We love watching the comings and goings out the front and are not bothered by the Hovercraft or trains at all. One night was Ryde Illuminated carnival. Unfortunately it poured with rain but we watched from the comfort of our armchairs and coffee table in the room.
Hotel was lovely, Staff were amazing, Location is excellent would definitely stay again. It was my girlfriend birthday 30th August so we stayed from 29th to 1st September. I contacted the Hotel to see if they could do anything special and a lovely lady called Tracey replied to me straight away and she arranged Chocolates, Cake, Flowers and a bottle of Prosecco which was waiting on the table for us when we had dinner my girlfriend loved it.
Have stayed at this hotel over 6 years now....a few of us visit from Hayling Island every year. It's a nice relaxing experience every time....staff very ablinging & friendly with a great breakfast. A historic hotel on ryde seafront ideal for all transport around the island.....it's nice where the age of the hotel makes you appreciate the special atmosphere.
The staff at this hotel are very helpful and friendly. It is 150 years old so you feel a little back in time. The breakfast is good.
Friendly and helpful staff but room 62 was poor especially the toilet and shower It was also next to the lift with associated noise The toilet was totally inadequate I am 5' 7" ,weigh 63K but not able to sit on toilet facing forward as wall was 6" from the seat. I had to sit at 45° angle. Anyone above my height and weight would not have been able to use this toilet.Guests should be advised although room has a toilet and shower , space in the toilet is very limited. They can then decide if they wish to stay in this room which is in the attic.
We stayed for 4 nights in a room with a sea view, and it was OK. Not great, but OK. In general, it was an adequate, nicely situated hotel, but our room at least would have benefited from a fair bit of modernisation. At over £200 / night, including breakfast, this wasn’t cheap, and some small improvements for the future would go a long way. To provide more detail: The hotel is well located, with beach, bus station, shops and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Our room had a great view, overlooking the Solent with Portsmouth a mile away. It also overlooked the hovercraft terminal and the railway leading up to the pier head which meant there was an amount of noise, but we felt that was unavoidable. Our room was a little like you might find at Granny’s rather than designed for a hotel, which perhaps in a previous life it may well have been. The room was nice and spacious but while the beds were comfortable, the rest of the furniture was a little like you might find in a car boot sale, old and battered - and the carpet could definitely have used a good steam clean. The TV was 10 feet away from where one would watch, but the screen was only 24”’ making it just too small. It was not a smart TV, meaning that there were no streaming services, but in fairness that would have been a bonus. The wifi was however too slow in any event for this to have been possible on TV, phone or tablet. Freeview availability was also a little variable and I had to autotune the TV myself on two occasions. Most of the plug sockets were in awkward places although aided and abetted by an extension cable placed on top of the 2-drawer cabinet which doubled as a dressing table and a place for the kettle plus tea / coffee supply. With the space available in the room, I would have liked an actual dressing table plus, perhaps, a small fridge. The only switch for the main light was located by the door, rather than also being controlled by bedside switches as in modern hotels. The shower was OK and clean although, having queried later, Maintenance were apparently required to remove the empty bottle of shower-gel attached to the wall. Not knowing this, and being unaware that the small bottle of shampoo and soap left on the sink outside the shower were intended as alternatives, this took us rather by surprise for the first shower of our stay. The toilet was however in a very small separate room / cubicle, which was fairly unpleasant. Claustrophobes should probably make other arrangements and don’t bring a cat to swing. There was a good selection of items available at breakfast and service was speedy. We didn’t have an evening meal at the hotel but got the impression that this would have had to be booked a day in advance. The was a fire alarm on one day, which repeatedly went off over a period of some minutes, causing a fair amount of concern and confusion. Guest were not told, unless they went and asked, that this was actually a false alarm, and some stayed in the lounge waiting for some news for quite a while. The annual Ryde carnival took place during our stay, but the reception staff I asked were initially unaware of this although they quickly made amends by helpfully researching details and displaying a small sheet on the front desk with the few details that were available. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful, but seemed generally unapologetic about things such as the empty shower-gel or the fire alarm. I felt a customer service refresher course would be useful for one or two. In summary, stay at this hotel for the sea view and the convenience, but be prepared for a less than modern experience.
It was exactly what I wanted.
When we checked in they had given our rooms to someone else so they had to give us different accommodation
We liked the breakfast and the lobby. We disliked the fact that our toilet did not flush properly and that we had to report it for three days before action was taken. The WiFi was spotty.
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is very easy to access on foot and right across the beach. The rooms have recently been renovated and are clean. I would definitely recommend it!
I thought the bedroom was average not that clean so we didnt stay and lost 185pound which was way to hugh for that room.
The room was nice and clean, friendly staff and the breakfast was great. We will be staying at the Royal Esplanade again.
The room was perfect! It was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were all great. Polite, attentive and accommodating. Breakfast was good, with a good amount of choice and was fresh and well presented. I would definitely stay here again.
had a great time as always, staff members all helpful and polite. nothing was to much trouble. especially DARIA and AMELIA, plus night man can not remember all of the names. have re-booked for next year all being well, many thanks micky no socks/mick howe xxx
Excellent service by staff. Accommodated us with bikes and were very helpful. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Good selection for breakfast
My single occupancy room was changed on request promptly. Carla and Dadia were very kind, helpful and polite. The only experience at the restaurant for breakfast was on day one was not the best. My english breakfast order was messed up and not complete and, the staff probably have no experience with asian clients because nobody was kind enough to ask for tea, sauces, etc. which they were doing for other customers around my table. It was disappointing and felt racist. But all my stars are for the front desk staff. Thank you.
The location was amazing overlooking the sea and Hovercraft. The room was quite small but with great views, so overlooked that fact. Bathroom was large, but plug didn't seem to fit bath, and cobwebs on the extractor fan. It was my husband's 60th birthday and I mentioned this on booking but no card was left in room, which they said they would do. Breakfast was very good. Hotel quite dated, and reception could do with brightening up a bit. Staff were lovely, so overall enjoyed our stay.
We recently stayed at this hotel with a coach party we were really pleased with the room the food was excellent with plenty of choices and the staff were friendly and polite we definitely would stay here again
Would definitely go again. Had a Seaview room on the 2nd floor with a great view of the sea, the pier, the hovercraft and the ferry Complimentary tea, coffee, water, hot chocolate, biscuits were available. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a bath and a shower and again was very spacious and clean. I had breakfast in the morning which was basic but very good and again I had a lovely view from the dining room. All of the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was able to leave my suitcase with them before check in time which was very helpful. There are pubs next door which can be noisy so if you don’t like that and are early to bed it may affect you, it didn’t affect me and I found it amusing. Everything is nearby, including all bus routes and I really couldn’t have asked for anything more. Will be back soon.
Beautiful old building in a fantastic location opposite Ryde’s sandy beaches. Staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. Breakfast service was impeccable and staff very attentive. Our room was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay again. I recommend reserving your parking at the time of booking as it’s cheaper than the long stay car parks.
Comfortable bed and good location. Staff are friendly too. The rooms are spacious, but thought mine was well overdue a refurb (particularly given the price).
A wonderful hotel. We had room 59 - brilliant! Great sea views. Staff, as always, very helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast - freshly cooked to order - makes all the difference.
Stayed in Room 60 with my two Children aged 7 and 5. Room was sizeable with a seaview, very clean and the beds were comfortable. Bath was a big size and decent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was really good, The dinners were really good. Stake and Ale Pie was delicious and good value. 👍 Hovertravel right outside and Buses to all parts of the Island on your doorstep. If they did 6 stars I'd give it 6. We will be back
Convenient location and comfortable room. Good hearty breakfast.
Ist room in attic, not ideal, mattress cheap spring.Metal bed. Compact.High windows felt clostraphobic.Upgrade for £20 to large front facing sea view. Better bed and space.
Staff were great.but room very poor.bed very uncomftable.bed full of bits.bathroom matedirty bit all over it where it was old.shower curtain with black and pink along bottom of it.was old.
Food very good but don't expect a quiet night. Check in ok but key policy is very odd never had a place that you have to give your room key each time you leave hotel
The room was fabulous, Cindy with my own bath, clear instructions to get back in and booking in. And times for breakfast which was very good standard
Bed was comfortable and staff nice
Very hot in the room, but with the price and location very good choice!
Excellent Isle of Wight vibes in Ryde
Excellent hotel in a great position to enjoy all that Ryde has to offer, from the naughty postcard museum to great restaurants, shops and boutiques plus the amazing Hovercraft service right opposite the hotel (minimum noise for maximum excitement - I really recommend a trip on this unique service). Traditional decor, great hospitality and good food and service with comfortable clean rooms make this my first choice for the IOW. Lovely to see a hotel which also stocks delicious looking cakes every day ready for a tea break - I am amazed at how many hotels don't have cake available for residents. Excellent stay and great value for money.
We stayed at this hotel Monday to Friday this week and it did not fail my expectations. I have wanted to stay here for a while and look forward to returning. The room was a great size for a triple and we had great views out the window, we stayed in room 56. Beds were comfy and bathroom was clean and tidy offering a shower with compliments plus towels. The room also had tea coffee hot chocolate, water and biscuits to compliment 😋 The breakfast was great each morning and the staff were great friendly and efficient which gave us a great start to each day, likewise as the bar staff did at the end of each day I would 100 percent recommend this hotel, just outside is the bus station train station and hover service 😀 👍🏼
All the hotel staff I encountered were cheerful, helpful and efficient. It certainly gives a positive vibe. It's a great venue and easily accessible (I have mobility issues). Although it can be irritating that the Wi-Fi and mobile signal is poor to zero, in fairness they do declare it openly. It didn't spoil my stay. A group of us booked together and we were made to feel very welcome and looked after royally. A really fabulous bar and outside area too. The bottom line is I would happily return and recommend the hotel to my friends. It would be five star. Were it not for the Wi-Fi issue?.
When we go to The Isle of Wight, Ryde works for us as a good location as it's a very good transport hub & The Royal Esplanade fits in with that nicely. The hotel itself is close to The ferry & Hovercraft, so no carting luggage too far. The hotel is clean & tidy & the hotel staff are very friendly. A fair price too. The breakfast, although not amazing was perfectly good & filling
Great hotel. Perfect location for all transport options (opposite the train, bus and hovercraft terminals and a 1 minute train ride from the foot passenger ferry terminal. Staff were great, the included breakfast was spot on. I cannot find anything to fault here. I will be back.
Excellent hotel, staff were very helpful, upgraded to bigger rooms as we wanted sea view. Vey good location. This was my 7th time, good improvement.
