Breakfast had good buffet and kitchen produced options. All included in the price we paid. Plenty of space to sit indoors or outdoors for dinner. We love the fact that the menus were clearly labelled with gluten and dairy - in fact that's the reason we chose this hotel, knowing one of the party could eat a range of meals despite gluten and dairy intolerance. Close to the park and ride for Whitby made travel options very flexible.
Room was clean and tidy. The size was good and the bed very comfortable. The shower was excellent. Overall a good room to be in.
There was nothing I really didn't like. If I was going to be picky the lighting in the bar was a bit dark.
First time in hotel group first class service from the minute we arrived to the minute we left staff were fantastic all round.
Nothing everything was wonderful.
Location
House keeping only did the basic things. The bed was not made . We had no tissues replaced. Great location
Room was comfortable, powerful shower, breakfast was delicious, views from bar/restaurant was great, staff were very friendly and helpful
Lack of furniture in the living space, not sure why the tea/coffee facilities were balancing on a tiny shelf when there was plenty of room for a small unit or even a mini fridge. Some of the cleaning could have been improved.
The locatoon was great. Very clean and very mice all round
Other than easy to find I have no positives
The room location and proximity to the road. Poor maintenance and cleanliness of room.
The Stables is located on the outskirts of Whitby with beautiful views over the Yorkshire countryside. There is ample parking and the location is right next to a bus that goes directly to Whitby town centre. The car park on site had plenty of space, there was good seating for all our meals both inside and outdoors, and the water garden meant we could spend our mornings watching the birds flying outside the windows. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and made our stay all the more pleasant. The room was booked with the pet guest option and they provided a dog bowl and a complimentary pot of dog snacks. The bed was very comfortable and the room was just the right size for us.
I felt the £15 cleaning charge was a tad steep per night for bringing a dog, particularly as my partner and I opted to skip the daily room cleaning in exchange for drinks. I understand the additional charge for bringing pets, but feel as though this should be per cleaning, not per night.
Didn't like the location of the room this time. Could hear the noise from the road.
Big room nice decor and beer garden
No windows that opened in room and no air con
Staff very efficient and friendly.
Everything was fine.
Great venue and service
Nothing
Great staff and great food
Room not as clean as i expected for the price i.e where you can not see and shower heads need clean
Great choice of continental breakfast which you can help yourself to, and cooked breakfast which you order from the bar. Also a decent menu for evening meals. The whole atmosphere in the bar/dining area was very pleasant. I had a room in the courtyard which was very comfortable and quiet with everything you would expect, tv, shower room, tea making, iron, fan etc.
The hotel is in a great location. The park and ride into Whitby is just across the road so no need to move the car even. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Check in and out was smooth and efficient. Overall I would recommend The Stables.
Location and having a restaurant on-site
Room very small
Very friendly staff
Location was very good
The bedroom was right next to the roadside we found this terribly noisy until about 0100 at night More noise insulation required
Room was in an annex that looked like a prison, totally out of keeping with the old building. And a lift which was ok but last time I stayed I had a room in the old building on the ground floor. I had expected the and this time. The too was ok but the window didn’t open and there was no ac. The view was awful despite the beautiful gardens, we looked out onto a concrete walkway and foif tops.
See above
Really friendly staff …. Good food especially the breakfast.
The location was very good. Due to park and ride Whitby very accessible. The staff were very good and hard working.
A little dark downstairs in the bar area.
Great place to stay 😃, not far from Whitby
Location was good, staff were great -but not enough of them
Limited staff availability at times - dog friendly, but some dog owners were very selfish
The Stables was very nice. It’s a pub and restaurant at the front. The Stables was on the side and the room that I stopped in was at the back. The room looked new so wasn’t sure how old that part of the building is. The room is quite large and the bathroom with walk in shower is also spacious.
The room it self was very clean and had everything you could need. But my wife did find dog hair in the bathroom. Not a big deal but there was hair. Also the price it is expensive but the whole of Whitby is so you can’t really hold that against them. We hope to go back when the rooms are cheaper if they ever are and have the same room.
Lovely courtyard room , different to anywhere I’ve stayed previously

It was lovely and relaxing, excellent views from our room
Nothing, except I’d recommend supplying trays for breakfast as it takes a few trips backwards and forwards with your food
The location, the rooms and food
Nothing
Ok
Taste
- Friendly and welcoming staff - Great location - Lovely views and spacious outdoor area - Decent, we liked that it wasn’t buffet-style
- The room had a strong, unpleasant smell, particularly around the sofa — it smelled a little like urine - We understand it’s a dog-friendly Inn, but the room could have been fresher and cleaner - The room was quite dark - TV wasn’t a Smart TV, so we couldn’t access YouTube or other streaming apps
Great position near park and ride and short drive to both whitby and sandsend, although getting out of car park was often a challenge! Lovely grounds, excellent breakfast and lovely staff and facilities
Room (19) could’ve done with more natural light - one small window onto a stairwell made room feel a little dark. Particularly as curtains needed to be drawn to stop people looking in
place was lovely staff lovely nothing was a bother lovely food
Breakfast Scenery
Great location with large carpark. Bed was really comfortable and the room had a really good shower.
Would have liked a small fridge in the room but not a big deal.
Lovely place , room very good , clean comforable
Further from town than I was led to believe
Very easy check in process. Staff were so helpful and kind
Très sympa et confortable
Chambre familiale un peu petite.
Vriendelijk personeel;. Goede bedden. Goed restaurant.
Well situated accommodation close to Whitby with ample parking and a family friendly restaurant.
Room decor getting a bit tired. Breakfast fairly basic
Beautiful rooms, very clean and dog friendly
Nothing
Great location, beautiful grounds and lovely rooms.
Room was rather hot, but the guys provided two fans.
Everything
We were in room 24 in an annex in an enclosed area. The rooms in that section did not have windows that opened and this was an inconvenience making the rooms uncomfortably hot so that needs addressing
Absolutely phenomenal
Staff were absolutely amazing Simon / Alex above and beyond to make stay comfortable felt like family
Amazing breakfast included.
Love the atmosphere, the rooms are amazing, food great and the staff so welcoming
Nothing
Comfortable stay with a large family room and modern bathroom with plenty of clean towels
Due to extremely hot weather the room was really warm we did have three fans to use but this did not impact on our stay the hotel was perfect nothing you can do about the weather
Beautiful location, lovely bar area. Rooms are very well maintained, clean and modern.
Winziges Badezimmer.
Nice location, grounds and comfortable bed
Food was a bit Weatherspoons. Having to order your breakfast at the bar was rubbish. Would have been nice to have more prepared fruit for breakfast. Dog hairs on the carpet in the room were off-putting (I don’t have a dog). Was expecting better for the money
Nice and quiet
Nothing
Everything ~ location and comfort
Nothing - everything was good
..
.
Lovely countryside views. Park and ride facility across road - £3 return to Whitby taking 10 mins.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Accessible rooms were too far to comfortably walk to for someone with limited mobility
A very beautiful inn in a beautiful location
Breakfast room comfy
Hot hot the room we’re
Great Parking, scenery is great and it’s decorated lovely. And Peacocks!
Nothing
Self contained which is ideal when you’re travelling with a dog. Food was great in restaurant (and breakfast). Staff were lovely Nice garden area with Peacocks Ample parking Close to Whitby Cute courtyard area where the dog friendly rooms are. Well lit and safe if you need to pop out in the night.
The Eggs Florentine were the best meal of the day,
I thought I had ordered lamb chops for dinner via my friend. What came was a large fatty pork chop. It was difficult to eat.
Beautiful property and grounds. Food was perfect and could not fault. Accommodated my gluten free needs, as I gave coeliacs, for both dinner and breakfast.
Beds were rock hard and pillows no better. Me and my partner barely slept. Beds and pillows need updating.
Location
Could do with a pool to relax after long day in Whitby
Captivating view. Exceptional hospitality. Definitely go again and recommend to friends and family.
Nothing to not like for me.
Lots of character
No bottles of sparkling water were available (only large 1ltr ones) and none of the 4 ales they should have had were available either. No bottled beers either. Just larger. Disappointing and poor management. You have a bar. How can all the beer run out!
Friendly staff, good location near park and ride, lovely facilities
Room wasnt massive and the kids had to share a bed considering it was £235 for one night for two adults and 2 kids
Good location, with easy access. Good shower room. Staff helpful and cheerful . Good breakfast.
Room was not suitable for a heatwave . Poor ventilation, due to the only opening being a velux window. No other window in the room gave a claustrophobic atmosphere and the only way to ventilate the room was to leave the door open (not suitable over night). A fan was provided on the mezzanine floor which was very noisy .
Nice bar. King size comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Quiet for a good night’s sleep.
Bit expensive. No free water or fresh milk in room. Breakfast was extra.
The beautiful views over the rolling hills with charm and ambience of the stables.
The shower had a couple of cracks and the sealant had lifted away from the tray, slight drain smell. Next room had dogs which barked last thing at night and first thing in the morning.
La chambre était bruyante (proximité de la route).
Location and staff were fantastic
Room small and basic
Perfect location and very dog friendly
Nothing
Road noise in room 15
Great Room
Slightly expensive for Room.
Amazing detail to everything in the property The design is stunning
Nothing
Bedroom was too warm. AC needed for the room.
Beautiful Outside area gorgeous room lovely food helpful staff
Would have preferred a longer stay
Staff, location, dog friendly
Fantastic hotel, restaurant and bar with exceptional views.
Perfect location, well set out and comfortable, dry clean and tidy in all areas
Bed uncomfortable and hard room extremely noisy had a generator at side of room which was constant and was at the side of a busy main road
Room was not dog friendly
Loved everything about our stay- beautiful setting outside/indoor areas lovely with great food

Very little. The adjustment on the price at the end was fair, but we shouldnt have been in that position.
The room - we paid £252 per night for what was a very basic room. This was accepted at check out and an adjustment made. Also, the fruit bowl had no bananas on both mornings. The pastries ran out on both mornings. Both easy fixes but no interest by staff.
Loved the location and the look of the place. Fabulous beer garden.
Very long wait for evening meal and was average ish. The breakfast was Luke warm and poor quality. Small chewy sausage and a spoonful of beans. No Aircon in room.
location was good for park and ride,
brown stain in toilet and same in shower , also black mould in shower, massive urine stain on mattress,
Lovely location in wonderful grounds. Plenty of free parking. Easy location for going to Whitby and surrounding areas. Breakfast was very good.
I stayed in one of the mezzanine rooms, while this was very comfy and clean it was very hot at night. A fan was provided which was loud. The traffic noise was horrendous from the road and when I closed the window it made no difference at all. There was also a low fan like rumble all night which I thought was the bathroom fan but when I switched this off it continued. I got very little sleep if any. On a positive note my dog enjoyed her stay.
Beautiful setting with a lovely outdoor area. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Food was lovely.
Breakfast service a bit slow and things weren't being topped up so things kept running out and staff had to be asked to replenish.
Location beautiful
Breakfast very poor
Check in, drinks and an evening meal in the bar. Loads of dogs so was very good. The grounds are lovely for a quick trot with your dog. Also the other guests were very nice. The food from the bar was really good quality, and reasonably price
Think the breakfast service needs attention. Very limited cold choice, no cereal or granola. Oat milk had run out. Many pots of HP sauce but no tomato. Of course this was put right if you requested but for the price I would expect not to have to ask for it
I was an exceptional hotel, the food was first class and the room very comfortable. I/we will definitely book there again
Nothing, everything was as advertised and exceptional in quality
Location, very clean
Great location, great room and great restaurant. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff Tasty food
Great location. Our rooms view was gorgeous
Nothing
The hotel is beautiful in a stunning location. Breakfast was delicious and we had our evening meal there too which was very enjoyable, plenty of choice.
Nothing inparticular
La reception troppo fredda come accoglienza Servizio clienti al mattino nn all'altezza
The location was great, having the Park & Ride was extremely beneficial
The room we stayed in was not as expected from the photos on your site, I would have upgraded had they represented it as it was Ate once in the restaurant, my food was not good enough so had to send it back. This was done easily and offered an apology however, it meant my husband ate on his own and so did I when the cooked version arrived
The whole place was comfortable and lovely
The food was a let down. My whole meal was not great. I ordered prawn pilpil starter and got prawn cocktail...I shrugged it off and ate it as everything else was ok for us all I ordered mushroom linguine and got prawn linguine. 😜🤣 I laugh because it was funny at the time until.. I tasted it and it was so tasteless. Just stir fried prawns in pasta no sauce, or I couldn't detect any ... So I explained I had ordered mushroom and that the prawn was not good.. it was changed speedily while I watched everyone eating.. my mushroom linguine came and I was surprised by the look of it. It looked like pasta bolognaise... I counted 3 tiny mushroom slices. After tasting it I returned it and was given a refund and apology. The bar manager was lovely and didn't make me feel bad for complaining Other than that the whole trip was fantastic Beautiful location, peaceful outdoor areas, rooms with seating outside in the annexed area. And a few peacocks roaming around without a care in the world
Pub food good, plenty of choice, good quality Ideal for getting into Whitby; Park and Ride just over the road from the hotel
Room was very noisy, Room rattled everytime traffic went by. No air conditioning
Excellent location, lovely room. Friendly staff.
Nothing
Everything about our stay was perfect. Location was good, all staff were very accomadating and made our stay special.
Nothing we loved our stay.
It was very clean.
Nothing.
Lovely welcome and everything explained. Our room was located in the court yard and was beautiful. Ok the weather was extremely hot so the room was warm but fans had been provided. Room was spotless. Very comfortable bed and lovely soft towels
Room was warm and couldn’t work out how to reduce temperature on control panel. More parasols in the garden would have been good
