This was a typical Old Florida hotel. The nostalgia is perfect, the location perfect.

The hotel will be torn down at the end of 2025

Location. Steps to the beach; easy walk to Publix; affordable.

The stove top ( one burner had old hard rice grains ) there was an unstable strip on the top stair in the room which was a trip & fall hazard; the crisper in refrigerator was dirty; two remotes to operate TV with no written instructions.

Close proximity to the beach, pool, & ice machine. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Allowed early check-in; replaced non-working keys and refreshed linens with helpful, kind attitude.

Affordable, yet dated. No A/C in the 2nd bedroom. No ceiling fan in kitchen. Sofa bed uncomfortable. No breakfast.

Amazing classic beach motel lit up with its neons. Everything about this place makes me smile from the stained glass flamingo window in the bathroom to the beachside location. I am broken hearted this place closes at the end of the month to make way for yet more condo’s!

It will only be open the rest of this month.

Friendly front desk staff, easy checkin with no reservation, pet friendly, only a block from the beach, comfy bed. Great value for an impromptu layover.

Long summer took my money on booking .com and they canceled and never returned my money after they said they couldn't give me a room already booked * & paid for ! Place is taken paid booking and canceled it on people because it's sold and being knock down in sept ! Short on staff ! 1 house keeper to the entire staff and dirty ash trays and trash all over !

They took my money paid and they canceled with not sending me my money back ! Nasty owner is a thief and ripped me off ! Sadly I didn't have this problem paying him cash at desk ! Paying on booking .com he canceled and wouldn't confirm my booking

It what i didn't like! The owner he canceled my booking and never returned my money ! I stayed there for the summer * healing my sick special needs child * and overing charging me everytime * changing my room up and asking more for less of a room! Telling me what room he wants me to have for a long stay! Crazy he sure is! Charging more money after given me a deal for 3 months ! greedy owner who sold the place for millions * a landmark to most and magical place to alot of people family friends and couples, and to film makers i got in 2 parts in 2 movies and my dog nama to ! I was on channel 4 news fighting not to close the Magic Beach the owner really didn't like that ! Then he Also discriminated against my child of special needs ! The place will be demolished after next month Because money becamev the root to all evil and the owner Is a money hungry man ! Without a conscience to others just money !He canceled my reservation that was paid for and refuses to pay me back As far as the staff very few hired , but the very few that he did have were awesome became family to me and my daughter, if not for the staff his business would have shut down a long time ago! He cared nothing of fixing that place ! The original owners back in the day were awesome ! this new owner destroyed a very magical place! The owner works his very few workers Like slaves ! Sadly ! Close proximity to the beach. Cute town.

We were shocked by the level of Ill repair of the 2 bedroom suite. Tiles falling off the wall, moldings missing, just overall in shambles. We are OK with older, nostalgic motels, and we’re looking forward to our stay. However, it appears that there has been no effort whatsoever put into maintaining the property. It is incredibly dingy and dated. It was by far the worst motel experience we have had in the last 20 years. I believe since they will be demolishing the property, it will only get worse until the building is crushed. Those in the town who want to keep this property have obviously never stayed in it. Having said that, all staff were very nice.

Steps to the beach, 10 minute drive to St. George Street, mini kitchen with fridge and table and microwave, very friendly staff. Not fancy but, clean..2 separate bedrooms amazing value!

We have stayed there a lot in the past, but now that they are trying to sell the hotel maintenance and cleanliness have been cut. 1. Broken Lamp 2. Paint peeling 3. Light bulbs out 4. Broken AC 5. Window AC so you had to alter curtain so people could not see in 6. To much to mention

Everything. The older construction makes it quiet, block instead of wood. Maybe 300’, or less, from door to ocean. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Quiet secure area of hotels. VERY short walking distance to supermarket.

It was close to beach..! View was ok.. mostly blocked by another hotel .. Easy access to supermarkets and St Augustine The hotel itself has a great history. Look it up.. it was once a lovely place. Room size was great though. And nice deep tub and hot water.

Old old old place.. rundown ! Need upgrade to at least cosmetic details.. Bed was awful. Pillows were lumpy.. construction next door. Filthy rug.. smelled Marijuana EVERY morning and night . Front Desk clerk.. forgot my parking pass . Had to get that.. then she didn't give me the wifi password.. Which sucks anyway.. cell service was horrendous and their wifi kept kicking me out..

The room and location were both what we'd come to expect from Magic Beach. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoy this location because of it's access to the beach the local area, and the shops close by.

In short, Simone the front desk woman. When I made the reservations I was told we could expect FULL room cleaning as much as we wanted during our stay. Upon check in, we were guaranteed cleanings at 10am on Sunday and Wednesday. This didn't happen on Sunday until we reminded them at 1130am. Then on Wednesday morning Simone told my wife that we were on the schedule for 10am. We returned around 2pm to find our room had NOT been touched yet. John, the housekeeper said he was told by Simone to not clean our room until after ALL other rooms were cleaned. We believe that this stemmed from the prior evening when we came back to our room after 8pm. There were no parking spaces available except for the handicapped space. Simone said we should park there or by the pool. HER vehicle was parked in a regular space. She said she wouldn't move her vehicle until she got off around 11pm. Unacceptable. If you're a paying customer at a hotel, you are guaranteed a parking place, NOT a place beside the pool fencing(that isn't even a parking spot), NOT the handicapped space which not only being reserved for that purpose but also we were told by local Law Enforcement that they'd ticket us if we parked there, and NOT a pubic parking space on the street. Simone was rude. Simone lied to us several times. Simone needs to be fired as she is bringing a very bad name to this establishment. We want to file a formal complaint with the owner and after asking for the owner contact info she said just email the reservations email address. Comes to find out she deleted our emails multiple times.

It is very dated but clean. Room was nice sized and close to Vilano bch center of town. Beach was walking distance.

Room was nice but had a mildew smell when first entering. Small motel surrounded by big modern hotels that blocked views.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday, we stayed 4 nights in a comfortable room with a large corner balcony overlooking the sea and the resort's clean quiet street, a large window, a jacuzzi, a wonderful room interior, I always pay attention to this when staying in hotels, silent air conditioning, access to the sea from the hotel, a nicely equipped clean beach, the water temperature in the ocean is refreshing, places for dinner within walking distance, and a Publix store, also nearby, walking tours to the pier, everything was charming, the room was cleaned perfectly. I want to come back again.

Maybe if you have noisy neighbors, the soundproofing won't be enough.

Absoluut retro en daarmee een bezoek zeker waard. Mooi zwembad op locatie en de zee op 3 minuten loopafstand. Het personeel is echt super.

Het is in de tijd gekomen en moet nodig een renovatie hebben. Er gaan geruchten, dat het afgebroken gaat worden, maar dat zou een doodzonde zijn. Moderniseren is een pre.

I loved that it was so close to the beach and walking distance to everything. The beds were pretty comfy and the AC worked decent. At night it got nice and cold but during the day it didn't seem as cold. But since we brought fans and had the ceiling fans it stayed cool enough.

It definitely needs some TLC. The floors were pretty dirty. I did bring a broom to try and sweep up our sand that was tracked in daily but it definitely needs a good mopping.

My daughter and I enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel and its location. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and conveniently located (i.e. walking distance to the beach, to the variety of stores in the area). We will return😉.

Beautiful retro property that was literally a 2 min walk from the beach. Front desk staff was great at helping us with all our needs. They even said that the AC unit might not be the best so they brought in a window unit for us.

There was nothing to not like about the property aside from the fact that the owner wants to tear it down and build condos…not cool.

Parking was hard to find when it was extremely busy . Keep hearing rumors of it possibly being sold and demolished. That would be a real shame.

LOCATION! There were several negatives, but the positives outweighed what lacked. Excellent water pressure, clean rooms, comfy beds, nice staff and visitors, and, overall, money well spent.

Desperate need for refreshing. A little paint, better amenities (our fridge didn't work well and there was no ceiling fan to go with the switch.) The negatives were many, but we'll absolutely stay again because of the positives.
