location was convenient, staff was nice

First thing in the morning taking a shower and the shower gel was completely empty, also was put in front of hotel which traffic was so loud all nice racing up and down the street. People were slamming doors at all hours and yelling in the halls, trying to open the door in-between rooms......it was awful. Wasn't a good experience.

Easy to find. Clean, quiet. Nice to have coffee and tea available round the clock. Tasty breakfast. Cute pool in the back. Next to a great burger joint Kaliburger.

A bit far from downtown but really not that inconvenient

Man at front desk was fabulous! I believe his name was Pete. He was so kind and funny. When handing you your room keys he did not state the room number which is something I watch for. He was great at offering restaurants as well. We will stay again.

Lady when checking out could have been more upbeat, like hope you enjoyed your stay with us.

Our first visit to area , great customer service, great location. Very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Manager was present and made the time to welcome and ask if we needed anything. Was very helpful when we were checking out when we asked about directions to re visit a area we seen day before. Hotel room was clean . Close to all attractions.. breakfast was very good good selection

It was super close the the Amphitheater and it’s very clean. The staff were very nice and the room was super clean. We slept in and didn’t go to the breakfast or the pool.

It’s not really our normal vibe since we tend to book boutique hotels, but this was good enough.

Spacious, comfortable rooms. However, the windows barely provide any sound insulation, and you can hear a lot of traffic noise. Make sure your room isn't facing the street, or you won't be able to sleep.

We booked months in advance and requested a quiet room away from noise. Despite this, they gave us a room facing the street, where the traffic noise was very loud. I had to insist on being moved to another room the following day. The staff in charge of assigning rooms ignores guests' needs.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly, giving us useful advice and tips for our stay. Breakfast was good.

The only downside was the noise, both from other rooms and from the street

Very well located, my daughter went to a concert in the amphitheater and the hotel is pretty close to it. I asked for connected rooms and they gave it to me also provided the parking for our cars. Good breakfast.

The hotel was obviously pretty new. The rooms were spacious with wood floors, good ac and comfortable beds. There was no tub, which I liked. Best of all, there was a big fancy coffee machine centrally located with fresh coffee available 24 hrs. No need to make your own in your room. And, very important to me-the rooms can be made very dark. The hot breakfast was adequate with a cool pancake machine. They had a pool and jacuzzi.

They had no snack vending machine but sold some snacks from the front office-selection pretty limited. Also, the only ice machine was on the 2nd floor, so getting ice was a trek. But these drawbacks are relatively minor.

The good thing was that check-in was quick. Unfortunately the desk clerk was not overly friendly and did bare minimum check-in. The location was fine but definitely a drive or Lyft ride to downtown where you’ll pay for parking again (parking is an additional $10 per night at the hotel). If you’re hoping to get some sleep here, it’s probably not going to happen. The room has a motion light that lights up the entire room every time you roll over in bed and a smoke detector beeped every 12 seconds all night long. The walls are obviously thin as I could hear the neighboring TV all night long and once breakfast and checkout started, we could hear every word being said in the hallway and kids screaming.

The 10.00 a day they charge for parking vehicle on premises. I feel like if you paying for room no fee for a parking spot should be charged!

It was very close to downtown-many things we did were easily within walking distance. Staff was polite and friendly

The only thing that I didn’t love was the $10 per night parking fee. This was not shown on the booking site. In the future, any parking fees should be included in the description of the property so people can make more informed choices.

The front desk lady for the morning was really sweet the room was clean.

The night shift made us feel as though it was an inconvenience to check us in for the night. Breakfast was not great the lady working breakfast was not friendly at all I have never had to pay to park in a hotel parking lot where I am already paying to stay to sleep. Probably will not ever stay there again.

Nice workout facilities, but could use anchor points for exercise bands. Nice pool area. Pete ( the managager?) was awesome. Most staff personnel were very good.

Hard to regulate room temperature, after 7 days the breakfast got real old and wasn’t very appetizing at times. Biggest black eye was a cold jacuzzi. I’d love to have been able to use it some evenings. Paying what we paid and then having to pay an additional $10 daily to park stuck in my craw also!!

Room doors slam when they close so you hear it at night every time someone goes in or out. You need more room to put your plate at breakfast while putting your food on your plate. It’s the same at the previous holiday inn in Orlando.

The hotel is average, but I feel we were conned by 2 phrases in their “description”. “Downtown” St Augustine….it’s at least a MILE from the main part of the city. #2….advertised as “historic”….again, the hotel isn’t ANYWHERE NEAR HISTORIC ST SAUGUSTINE. Don’t be fooled! As far as the room, DO NOT get a room on the roadside, or near the gym. Extraordinarily noisy.

My wife and I travel all over the southeast US for my photography. We always look forward to staying at Holiday Inn Express St Augustine – Historic. The staff here is amazing. They always go out of their way to make us feel valued. They treat us like family. It is the cleanest hotel we stay in by far. Our room is always perfect. The dining area is also very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a big part of our stay, and we are genuinely well satisfied with the great breakfast buffet. After that we are set for a day’s adventure in St Augustine. My wife and I would both like to sincerely thank the staff, Tashay, Pete, Nikki and the very nice lady that set up the great Breakfast buffet. You all exceeded our expectations at every level. Every place you go , the handicapped bathrooms are not always completed in the most safe or helpful manner. This room was perfect. Safety bars were right where they needed to be. The water stayed inside the shower area also. Meet Mr Pete, Manager and he was accommodating and very welcoming. The room was immaculate. The setup was efficient. We did not do breakfast as we had a favorite place we were going to. We’ll be back.

Breakfast ends at 09:30-a bit early. Fortunately we were going to a place we like in town.

The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish there were blackout curtains on the window. It was difficult to sleep a full night because of the light through the window.

Rooms need a deep cleaning! They were clean enough but the dust in the floor is annoying, and the shower needs a deep cleaning. Also, the door of the bathroom needs a handle!! The staff wasn’t the warmest a have ever encountered. The $10/night for parking should be advertised!!!(it surprised everyone!)

The TV didn't work, we had to get a person from the front desk to reprogram the TV twice., she then told us not to turn TV off. We left turned on for 2 solid days. We left our room Monday morning came back after supper our room wasn't touched beside replacing to towels. The trash container were full, the floor wasn't cleaned the bed was made and the coffee and the cups were never restocked. To top everything off they charged $10.00 a day to park. There was nothing stated in our reservation.

The location was great cause it was not a crowded area and had parking!! Very easy to get in and out of! The breakfast was very good too with enough variety!
