Charming, personable, excellent staff and lovely breakfast and great rooms
View of the cruise ships from the breakfast balcony
LOVED the location, staff, and atmosphere! Our room was great!
Getting from the street to the entrance was a little difficult but the staff was eager to help with luggage!
everything
nothing
Supermysigt hotell med en speciell känsla . God frukost, sköna sängar. Fin balkong .
Perfect location. Very friendly staff
Ottima accoglienza e servizio. Personale simpatico e disponibile. alta professionalità
De service van het personeel
Staff was amazing! Unit was amazing! Can’t say enough!
Nichts negatives
Everything - the location, the rooms, and best of all the staff!
The hotel was amazingly beautiful and comfortable. Eating breakfast on the balcony was an absolute treat. Each and every staff member was friendly, polite and professional, and very helpful.
It is physically challenging to get luggage from Uber or taxi to the front door of hotel as sidewalks are steep and uneven and there are several steps up.
This is a unique property. A historical palace in downtown Lisbon overlooking the water that has been converted to a boutique hotel. We stayed in the tower room which is two stories with a 360 degree terrace and great views. A pretty special place. The staff was kind enough to carry our luggage up the rather narrow stairs to our room. Breakfast is included in your own private dining area or on the terrace. They even provided us with an early breakfast so we could make our international flight. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
This place is a bit tricky to find. You should be aware that a taxi can only drop you off on the street below since it is in the historical zone. You walk up the alley by the Taylor tasting room and turn right, then up about 15 stairs to reach a large wooden door on the right. It is not far but it does have stairs if you have heavy luggage. You can arrange for private transport through the hotel that will pick you up or drop you off by their door but it can be expensive depending on where you are going.
We loved the design (stained glass, antique fixtures and furniture, etc) and the beautiful building, which is tucked away into an alley in Alfama overlooking the river. We stayed in Lola and had lots of space, with huge windows in the living room, and a massive bathroom. The staff were very kind and attentive, particularly Antonio. The hotel only has 6 rooms, which allows the staff to give each guest their undivided attention.
You have to ring the bell to be let into the hotel building, which is not always convenient, but the staff make it work.
SUPONGO QUE ME TOCÓ LA FEA POR RESERVAR EN BOOKING. no volveré.
The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is delicious, and the place is very nice. The room is very spacious, and I really rested.
I had a lot of trouble finding the hotel; it's located in Lisbon's old town and finding it was very difficult. Another detail is that they don't have an elevator, and my suitcases were very heavy.
The staff was excellent, will go back
Es war ein unfassbares Erlebnis. Topp!
The location was excellent. Breakfast was very nice. Building was beautiful. Staff was wonderful, especially Antonio. He went above and beyond for us !!!
Nothing
A hotel with lots of history and charm. Antonio the desk clerk was amazing in helping with anything we needed. was very fluent in English, knew a lot about the history of this hotel, helped with luggage, served an amazing breakfast. could not of asked for anything more. Small boutique hotel with 6 suites all with their own character and design. walking distance to Cruise port and city centre.
better access to the Hotel front door. thanks to Antonio whom carried our luggage,
Location is good especially if you are on a cruise. Can walk across to cruise terminal
Breakfast Never got told what was on offer for breakfast so they just brought out an assortment, if they had asked us it would have saved waste as we didn’t eat much of what they gave us. Not really into continental breakfast. No kettle in room but did ask for hot water.
We loved every aspect of this hotel. Despite its central location, it’s wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was delightful, offering fresh and healthy options. The staff were attentive and polite, making us feel truly welcome. The interiors are stunning, and the rooms are exceptionally spacious and comfortable.
Our room had a glass bathroom, hence lacking privacy.
Super service ...ligger godt .
The hotel feels like stepping into a museum—every corner tells a story and exudes its own unique beauty. The staff were incredibly attentive, with Rodrigo standing out for his constant willingness to help and his unfailing politeness. We especially appreciated the complimentary minibar. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and offered stunning views of the River Tagus. Breakfast was exceptional, featuring fresh, healthy options alongside indulgent treats. Simply being in this hotel makes you feel transported to another era, a truly unforgettable experience. Can’t wait to be back!
We had to pay for an umbrella that was lost during a visit to a restaurant.
The place is beautiful ! We had a terrace so we could watch the ships come and go Lovely
The only downside is it’s hard to find Taxis cannot get directly to it. You have to walk up stairs to the door that is tucked into a corner. Had to ask a local where it was -had our luggage so difficult I would suggest calling the hotel when u are dropped off for help with the bags
What a grand place to stay! Service excellent
This hotel is beautiful and very unique. The staff was very helpful and kind and breakfast was wonderful.
This hotel is located in a great part of town and has beautiful views from the balconies, but it’s a bit tough to get to with suitcases as you have to go up a lot of stairs.
The staff of the hotel is excellent, polite, caring, friendly and cooperative 1000%. The breakfast is excellent. Great flavor, served with efficiency and excellent quality. The staff of the hotel and the breakfast deserve a 100 because meet the highest expectation.
The hotel does not have front door. The entrance of the hotel is at the BACK door. To get the entrance door you have to go through a very smelling alley where you'll find 7 bins full of smelling garbaje and the building installation is very uncomfortable. I would not recomend this hotel overall to seniors because there are many stairs to go up and down. Location apparently is good but believe me, the location is a nightmare. This is Marta Lozano
Mały, spokojny, hotelik ze wspaniałym personelem, w doskonałej lokalizacji.
Great location in the old town. Exceptional staff and delicious breakfast . Beautiful building with character filled interiors .
No elevator but staff were very helpful with heavy luggage .
O ambiente lindo, surpreendente. Ótima localização. Os funcionários muito atenciosos.
Fantastyczne miejsce, świetny pokój, bardzo miła i bardzo pomocna obsługa.
fantastische Lage, Aussicht, Charme, Personal, Fruehstueck
Ein Teil des Hotels braucht eine Auffrischung
What a great hotel. The staff were fantastic, the location was ideal and the breakfast was brilliant
The front door to the hotel is up a small back street and was quite hard to find
Beautiful Hotel… Great location.. Reasonable for the quality of the property.. Staff was AMAZING
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I enjoyed the size of the room and the view that the French doors provided was fantastic.
I did not like the fact that there is no direct access to the hotel entrance. You will have to access the front door via a not so clean alley. In addition, the furniture can use a little updating.
The hotel itself is a historic building overlooking the Tagus River, where large luxury cruise ships dock every day, creating an astonishing sight. Of course, the breakfast is also great.
None.
Amazing stay, fantastic charming and unique property. Exceeded expectations and would 100%.stay again. Highly suggest this property, and we've stayed at some of The best hotels.around the world.
The single thing I would say was not a perfect scenario.is that you need to be agile to get to the property because it's in a very unique location. We had no issues but we understand in Europe you walk a bit and it's part of the allure.
No funcionaba.
The breakfasts were outstanding. Every day, consistently, during our 4 day stay at this property.
Leaving the key at the front desk each time we left was a little bit awkward. But, completely understandable.
If you look for something special, this is the place! Very beautiful, great staff & breakfast.
Beautiful historic home, lovely breakfast, very friendly staff
Only one of the river view suites is the amazing majestic room so heavily advertised, leaving quite some disappointment if you end up in the roof with eaves on three sides and unlovingly furnished with random 80ies items; huge cruise liners out front blocking the river view; difficult to access
The beauty, the history. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable!
Getting to it the first time is a little tricky.
Staff were very kind and helpful in all matters. Unique, beautiful, and authentic property.
Room Sonia could use a bit of love in interiors but it works as is.
This was an amazing hotel with an old world palace like charm. There are only 6 suites that make up this boutique hotel and each one has it's own special charm. We really enjoyed suite Lola, probably one of the nicest suites in the hotel. High ceilings and huge rooms looking out over the Tagus river. All plumbing fixtures where modern, plenty of power outlets, great water pressure, free mini-bar. Breakfast was amazing with eggs to order, bacon, fresh breads, juices and fruit. You had the choice of two elegant dining rooms or an outside patio surrounded by flowering bushes. All very relaxing and quiet, yet just a few minute walk away from the excitement of downtown Lisbon.
A very minor suggestion would be to have better instructions on how to program the safe and control the A/C.
A querky small boutique period hotel full of character. Staff were fabulous and breakfast excellent. Our bedroom with a balcony facing the river was large and well appointed.
The hotel entrance is quite underwhelming & does not show the quality of the hotel. There is no vehicle access to the front lobby and steep steps from the river side. There is no lift. But we still loved it.
Lovely old mansion, furnished with antiques, attractive decor. Gracious and helpful host. Welcoming, good breakfast, comfortable, spacious upstairs suite.
Our room was two floors up. We’re seniors and my wife has a bad knee and needs a cane to go up and down stairs. There is no elevator. Had we known this, we would not have chosen this hotel. It is also located in a dingy alley and you must go up stone stairs or down a cobblestone alley to get there. Again. Challenging for older people with minor mobility issues.
Everything. A wonderful building and attentive staff
It’s was one of the homiest hotels we’ve stayed in - the staff and set up really made us feel like we were staying with friends rather than a hotel. A fantastic breakfast is included (which you can take outside looking over the water if so inclined), very spacious rooms and excellent bathrooms. Would wholeheartedly recommend, especially if you are going on a cruise ship, as the terminal is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
There was nothing that affected us personally, but a couple of things for potential travellers to be aware of - this hotel probably is not very friendly for those who are less mobile. There isn’t a lift so you need to be able to walk up a couple of flights of stairs to get to your room. The hotel is also not accessible by public taxi (although they will arrange you a private transfer if required, but this is more expensive) due to road restrictions. A public taxi can get you very close (less than 5 mins walk) but again difficult for those who are not mobile as you need to walk (very briefly) uphill and some steps to reach the door. For 90% of travellers this will be no issue and the hotel is easily worth the travel, but just flagging up for the 10% who it might impact.
Exquisite, the perfect honeymoon hotel.
Kettle and tea in the room (not just coffee)
Such a beautiful building to stay in. All our hosts were exceptional. Breakfast was gorgeous. Having bubbles on the terrace with a cigarette was delightful. I would like to thank Rodriguez for helping me with my twisted foot and sorting a pack of ice and a stiff drink! Highly recommended!
We would have preferred a double bed. The bedside tables and lamps were beautiful but very wobbly and I was afraid of breaking the glass! But this is being picky!
Our 1st time in Lisbon and the Palacete was one of the highlights. Not only the hotel itself and it's beauty but the staff were outstanding in every possible way! They exceeded our expectations!! Our superior suite with our own chapel, was amazing and so very special. We felt and were treated like royalty.
Charming decor Excellent staff
Hard to find to check in
The staff is extremely helpful and courteous The hotel is very well located The breakfast was excellent The ambience is exceptional
There is nothing to complain about
Beautiful building, great location, extremely helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, comfortable room (next door to a chapel!)
Nothing
Beautiful place to stay with so much history

A wonderful hidden gem of a place in the old Alfama district. The hotel is an old family home and is beautifully decorated in the style of the 1910's with many original art nouveau style features. Staff were exceptional and no request was too small to make our visit perfect.
Nothing to dislike but be aware that the district is old with a maze of tiny winding streets, very steep alleys and small shops and bars. A maze of electricity wires over head and lots of digging up of the drains. It is not a fancy looking place, it is a real place where real people live. If you want fancy tree lined boulevards and Armani/Gucci shops then this is not that area. However the hotel could hold its head high above any cookie cutter chain where "service" looks like remembering your name in order to get a tip.
Unique and timewarpy hotel, perfect location, stunning views, extremely nice and helpful staff. Breakfast is wonderful, as is everything else. The most beautiful hotel in Lisbon.
The authentic style of the hotel and friendly staff

Breakfast on the terrace was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable.
The building was truly lovely. Lots of character. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Breakfast excellent.
Beautiful dramatic interiors.
That the photos of the suites shown online are a bit misleading. The top floor is very big but small windows and not the vibe of the hotel. But the ones below are much more charming.
Location, staff helpfulness exceptional, Devine breakfast in wonderful alfresco location.
This is a fabulous hotel! The staff is kind, courteous, and very helpful. The hotel is located right in the Alfama area, a great location to walk to the main sights. Breakfasts are great, too!
We enjoyed everything! The staff are there 24/7 ready to help and ensure you have a great stay. The hotel is in a beautiful historic building that is preserved as much as possible, but with modern touches for comfort.
