Reviewed Aug 28, 2026Breakfast good. Major problem with the small shower cubicle. For any person big person it is very space constrained. The base on the basin vanity slab does not rest on the floor so the retrieval on anything that that is dropped and goes under the base is impossible

Water dripping from overhanging trees onto the zink roof that is covering grass roofs, it sounds like birds walking on the roof, the whole night, while there is mis or light rain, that is apitty.

The small fireplace is definitely not adequate enough for a big room with high ceilings. It was extremely cold in the room. The bathroom, however, had underfloor heating. Much better.

Reviewed May 11, 2026Idyllic location, surrounded by mountains. Scenic views across dams stocked with trout. We had a gorgeous room with a fireplace and outside shower. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast - delicious food, excellent ingredients, prepared to perfection. Take a golf cart to explore the estate!
We had an incredible weekend. Our only minor complaints were the waiting times for food to be served and that our breakfast was cold on the first day. Oh, and that you are charged for espresso and cappuccino with breakfast when taking the half board option. At the price, we felt that it should be e included.

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026Lovely cottage with a very efficient gas fireplace because it did get a bit nippy in the evenings )we were there in March). Well equipped kitched and very compafortable beds, showers and bath. Beautifully crisp linen. We had very leasant views from our patio. You can enjoy long walks around the dams along the gorgeous valley, the gushing weirs and the spectacular waterfall there really is no need to leve the property at all because of its cirisp air and scottish highland feel. The walk up the the mountain was a true higlight and brought us close to a small herd of zebras and a sight of deer along the ridge. There is a lot of wildlife of all sorts and we are sure we saw a spotted neck otter dashing between lakes one late afternoon. The service is especially attentive and very friendly everywhere.
Not Walkerson's fault, but power outages are a real issue. We experienced it twice while there. The hotel complex is provided with solar, so one can always get a meal there. Basically this is a wonderful place. Dullstroom itself is somewhat quaint and though it presents some highlightis the shops are strung out over a long thin line on either side of the road which is a chllenge to its sense of identity.

The whole experience was more than we ever experienced at any other place. The luxurious room has so much to rave about. The food was five star quality in the restaurants. The gardens, the view etc. - I could go on forever - were a pleasant experience. We would recommend the Walkersons Hotel any day and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you very much.

Reviewed Jan 13, 2026Impeccable hospitality! It exceeded all expectations. Everything from the food to the grounds to the room layout and decor was truly immaculate. Staying here was certainly a 5 star experience, and the cherry on top was that they left a bottle of champagne in our room and ran us a bubble bath to celebrate our engagement. We will definitely be back!

It would have been helpful to have some butter/jam, and milk for coffee and tea to go with the bread upon arrival. Normally we travel prepared to a self catering but this was an international trip with Walkerson’s as our first stop.

The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the food was truly exceptional. The room is well appointed with a really comfortable bed. The scenery is breathtaking, with awesome walks around the property that make you feel completely immersed in nature. The spa was enjoyable, relaxing, and the perfect way to unwind. Highly recommended for a peaceful and memorable getaway.
