Ridho's Homestay & Jungle Trekking

Een erg fijn verblijf gehad! De host, Dedek en Sonia zijn ontzettend lief, vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Dedek is altijd bereikbaar op WhatsApp en kan van alles voor je regelen. Ik heb erg leuke tours gedaan via de Homestay, waaronder de jungle trekking van 1 dag met gids Jhony. 6 Orang-oetans en 1 baby gezien. Het was super! Ook de kookcursus bij Jhony's moeder is aan te raden. Ze kunnen een luchthaven transfer voor je regelen. Het laatste stukje ga je op de motor, daar kan de auto niet komen. Geen probleem als je een koffer of backpack hebt. De kamer heeft een fantastisch uitzicht op de river met een fijn terras. De inrichting is basic, maar compleet. Met airco, douche met warm water, dikke handdoeken, goed bed/matras en erg schoon! Er is een klamboe, maar ik heb geen mug op de kamer gezien. Ontbijt wordt bij je terras bezorgd en je kan een voorkeur aangeven. Bijvoorbeeld gebakken ei met brood of bananen pannenkoek. Erg lekker! Goede restaurants op loopafstand en naast de deur (NatureSoul bijvoorbeeld!) Als ik ooit terugkom naar Bukit Lawang dan verblijf ik hier zeker opnieuw. Veel liefs voor deze ontzettend gastvrije mensen.

Niets. Ik had 1 dag wat problemen met het warm water, maar Dedek heeft het gelijk opgelost. Verder alleen jammer dat ik weer verder moest reizen!

Vanaf het begin van de booking direkt een goed WhatsApp contact gehad met eigenaar Reynold. Hij voorzag ons van goede informatie en advies. Ook o.a. over de jungletrekking van 3 dagen en 2 nachten. Wij werden hartelijk ontvangen door Dedek bij de Homestay op een prachtige chille locatie. Reynold en Dedek hebben can alles voor ons geregeld. Het ontbijt werd iedere morgen vers gemaakt en gebracht. Ontbijten met uitzicht op de rivier. Voor de 3 daagse jungletrekking kregen wij gidsen Johnny en Tonnie mee. Vanaf begin tot het einde vertelden ze ons over van alles nog wat over de jungle. Alles Met heel veel geduld , zowel met vragen als met tempo en aanpassingen in schema. Ze hadden heerlijke lunch voor onderweg mee gebracht en fruit/water. Op de basis kampementen wachtte ons Ram de kok op en maakte het lekkerste van het lekkerste voor ons. Wij zijn ontzettend verwend niet alleen met eten maar ook met vriendelijkheid en gastvrijheid. Dankjulliewel allemaal, wij hebben het ontzettend naar onze zin gehad en ook veel gelachen, wat een gezelligheid . Dorpje Bukit Lawang is erg leuk om te ontdekken.

Supernette Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber. Tolle Organisation des Transfers und der Dschungel Tour. Sehr bequemes und gemütliches Bett. Tolle Lage mittendrin und am Fluss. Alle waren sehr freundlich und flexibel und haben alles getan, damit wir uns wohl fühlen..

Frühstück war nicht gerade üppig. Beleuchtung im Zimmer spärlich. Nur ein Handtuch pro Person da gewesen. Keine Gläser oder Becher im Zimmer.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft und sauber! Das Badezimmer hat eine Warmwasserdusche. Der Host war sehr freundlich! Frühstück wird um 8 Uhr morgens auf die Terrasse gebracht. Es war sehr lecker. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Fluss und man kann dort baden gehen. Bei Stromausfällen steht eine Notfalllampe bereit.

Es gibt keine Nachttischlampen, die gibt es allerdings selten in den Homestays und es war etwas zu wenig Toilettenpapier auf dem Zimmer. Dennoch geben wir der Unterkunft eine volle 10 Punkte Bewertung.

We stayed in this structure for 4 nights, everything was perfect! The staff was very kind, they organized the transport from the airport for us, and everything went smoothly. Every morning they provided a delicious home-made breakfast on the terrace outside the apartment, that has an amazing view on the river and the jungle. The apartment is very clean and it is equipped with everything you may need. The position is also perfect to visit Bukit Lawang and it's close to many restaurants. They also organized for us a two-days trekking in the jungle and everything was perfect! Our guide, Johnny, was very prepared and explained us many things on the forest and its animals. We hope to be back soon!!

With direct access to the river, and a view of the dense jungle beyond, this property is worth it for the location alone! The included fresh breakfast is delivered to your doorstep every morning so you can sit and eat overlooking this lush vista. The room itself is very accurate compared to the photos, and is excellent value for the price. My host, Reynold, was very helpful and communicative, helping me to arrange transfers to and from KNO airport, as well as booking me into a group trek into the national park. Options for the transfer included a shared van, or private car, both at reasonable rates. Overall, this was a fantastic stay!

Our stay in Ridho's homestay was AMAZING!! It was the highlight of our trip to Indonesia. The accommodation was very clean with a beautiful view of the river where we could enjoy our delicious breakfast. We booked our 2D1N Jungle tour through Ridho's and it was incredible. We saw multiple orangutans and had a great time with Johnny and Tony as our guides. Only downside is we didn't stay for longer.

De ontzettend vriendelijke mensen. Het uitzicht vanaf het balkon. De fijne kamer, met grote badkamer, de banana pancake bij het ontbijt. We hebben ook de 2 daagse jungle trek met Ridho’s gedaan. Jhony en Tony hebben ons een onvergetelijke tocht bezorgd! Wisten ons veel over de jungle te vertellen. We hebben orang oetans en andere apen gezien. En ze hebben ons geholpen waar ze konden. En dankzij Mafé hebben we heerlijk gegeten op de prachtige kampeerplek in de jungle. Om op dag 2 al tubend terug te raften naar Bukit Lawang. Ook nog een kookworkshop laten organiseren. En dat was ook een mooie ervaring. En daarna heerlijk gegeten! Dank Dedek, Dedek’s vrouw, Jhony, Tony, Mafé, Jhony’s moeder en alle anderen

From the moment I booked, the communication from Rhidos Homestay was exceptional. Even though the owner wasn’t in the country, every question I had was answered quickly, and they helped organize everything seamlessly—from my private transportation and laundry to arranging my 3-day jungle trek. When I arrived, DeeDee and his beautiful family, welcomed me like I was part of their friends. After months of traveling, that feeling meant more to me than I can put into words. Their kindness, generosity, and genuine hospitality made this much more than just a place to stay. The homestay itself sits right along the river, and waking up to those views was incredibly peaceful. There were a few power outages during my stay, but that’s simply part of being in the jungle and not something I would ever blame the homestay for. The jungle trek they arranged was the experience of a lifetime. Our guides, Marwan and Pazar,Ipan, and papa Eton were absolutely exceptional. Their knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife was incredible, and thanks to their expertise we had unforgettable encounters with wild orangutans and many other animals while always treating the environment with respect. Every meal they prepared during the trek was delicious, and their passion for sharing the rainforest was obvious every step of the way. I’ve stayed in many accommodations while traveling, but very few have made me feel as welcomed as Rhidos Homestay. If you’re visiting Bukit Lawang, don’t hesitate to stay here and let them arrange your jungle adventure. You won’t just leave with amazing memories, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve made lifelong friends.

Super mooie plek aan de rivier! Schoon, airco, warme douche, schoon! Er word goed voor je gezorgd en de mannen staan altijd voor je klaar. Jungle toch met Johny en Tony geboekt via hen en het was fantastisch geregeld.

We had an amazing stay at Ridho’s Homestay in Bukit Lawang and can highly recommend it to everyone visiting the area. From the very beginning until the end of our trip, Dedek took great care of us and was always available whenever we had questions or needed help. He picked us up from the parking area when we arrived and made everything very easy and stress-free. Dedek also organized a perfect jungle trekking tour to see the orangutans with Johnny and Tony, who were excellent guides. In addition, he arranged our onward transportation safely and efficiently, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was simple and tasty. We would definitely stay here again.

Staying at Rhidos Homestay was smooth and relaxing. They organized everything for me, from transportation to jungle trekking. I am especially grateful to my guide, Jhony, who explained so much about the flora and fauna of the jungle. He truly knows everything about it and is happy to share his knowledge. Everything was organized by the always-smiling Dedek, who made me feel very welcome. You can also buy necessary hiking equipment from his shop. The place itself is wonderful, located right by the river. You can see monkeys from your balcony, monitor lizards in the river, and fireflies at night. It almost feels like staying in the jungle, just with the comfort of AC and hot shower 🙂

Einfache Ausstattung die ausgereicht hatte. Super Aussicht und Zugang zum Fluss. Dedek ist sehr hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich . Jonny und Tony haben mit uns 2 Touren in den jungel gemacht. Zu jeder Zeit haben wir uns sicher gefühlt und unser wunsch Orang-Utans zusehen wurde mehr als erfüllt. Die Verpflegung war ausgezeichnet.Der organisierte hin und rück weg nach Medan mit Adi hatte perfekt funktioniert. Können Ridho's Homestay und Jungel Trekking zu 100% weiter empfehlen. Alles war unglaublich toll! Man hat uns schon vor der Ankunft alle Informationen die wir brauchten mitgeteilt, sodass wir ohne Probleme vom Flughafen bis vor die Haustüre gebracht wurden und ein paar Tage später mit den besten Guides Jonny, Toni und Anto einen zwei Tage Trekking Trip machen konnten. Auch Dedek hat uns vor Ort bei allem geholfen und uns super Tipps für den Ort gegeben! Das Zimmer und die Dusche waren super sauber und das tägliche Frühstück konnte bei so einem tollen Ausblick von der Terrasse nur gut schmecken!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt dank der herzlichen Gastgeber Dedek, seiner Frau sowie Toni und Johny. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bestens umsorgt. Besonders schön war der Dschungel-Trek zu den Orang-Utans und die Achtsamkeit der Guides im Umgang mit dem Regenwald! Von unserer Terrasse hatten wir eine tolle Aussicht auf den Dschungel und direkten Zugang zum Fluss.

Die Unterkunft ist insgesamt sehr einfach ausgestattet, im Zimmer gab es nur eine Steckdose. Sitzkissen für die Stühle draußen wären noch eine schöne Ergänzung. Das Rauschen des Flusses kann zeitweise recht laut sein. Im Dschungel waren zudem viele Touristen unterwegs, was wir etwas störend fanden, auch wenn das Team darauf natürlich keinen Einfluss hat.

The staff was very helpful and vey kind :-) The jungle tracking was amazing, very nice. And the other program (Tangkahan) was very good again. Our 2 guides and drives Johny and Tony were very very super guide and kind, and they took care of us. Very high recommend them!!! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!!! and VERY NICE. :-) We will come back to you.

The best jungle accommodation we have ever stayed at! The owner, Dedek, and his wife Sonja make you feel extremely welcome, they take care of all your needs and make you feel at home right from the start. The room is situated directly by the river, offering an absolutely breathtaking view of both the river and the surrounding jungle. There’s a lovely balcony where you can relax and even spot monkeys along the riverbanks. The room has everything you need, from a comfortable bed to a kettle for making coffee or tea. We also booked a one-day jungle trek directly through the homestay. Tony and Jonny were our guides, and they shared so much knowledge about the plants and wildlife. They really went out of their way to make the experience enjoyable for us. Thank you so much for an unforgettable time in Bukit Lawang!

place was 1 two room property on the rivers edge. View from door was of the river and the jungle. Peaceful. Macaque monkeys visible on other side of river and occasionally passed by on room side. Breakfast was simple and brought to the room to eat on the outside area. Decent cafes close by local food. Didek arranged trips for us and made sure they were on time and went well. No issues with his support. Local people were very friendly and felt safe and comfortable in the area.

As the property is on the side of a river, it cannot be accessed by car and involves a slightly tortuous back of a motorbike ride. Might be out of some peoples comfort zone.

Derek de eigenaar zorgde ervoor dat je niks tekort kwam. Hij heeft voor mij de jungletocht geregeld en een driver Poetra voor 5 dagen. Poetra vertelde onderweg alles over Sumatra en stopte bij leuke plekjes waar je als toerist normaal gesproken nooit zou komen.

Teplá voda, klimatizácia, skvelý výhľad na dažďový prales, raňajky na terase Ubytovanie v tichej časti, niekoľko reštaurácii a obchodov v bezprostrednom okolí. Izba je priestranná, vybavená, má teplú vodu, moskytiéru, sušiak na prádlo, sedenie na balkóne s výhľadom na rieku a dažďový prales. V noci žiadny hluk, len šum rieky. Luxusné raňajky podľa priania priamo na balkóne. Milí majitelia. Zabezpečia odvoz na motorke priamo k ubytovaniu. Zabezpečili nám skvelých sprievodcov Johnyho a Toniho, ktorí nám poskytli mnoho informácií. Absolvovali sme 1 dňový trek. Videli sme 1 orangutana a niekoľko endemitických Hulmanov thomasových (Presbytis thomasi).

Location was great with fantastic view over the river , room was spacious, plenty of restaurants in walking distance our favourite was the jungle inn best in the area first class chef.Ridho organised airport pick up at a reasonable price and a jungle tour with Johnny and Tony who were great guides. We were fortunate enough to see an orangatan mother and baby which was an amazing experience, really loved Bukit lawang we would of stayed longer and done another trek 3 nights wasn't long enough.

Wir hatten ein großzügiges Zimmer mit geräumigem Bad und Terrasse direkt am Flussufer. Phantastischer Ausblick. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und der Gastgeber äußerst freundlich und sehr bemüht, dass alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit ist. Über die Unterkunft buchten wir unseren Transport vom Flughafen Medan nach Bukit Lawang und wieder zurück. Die Fahrt dauert 4-5 Stunden. Unser Fahrer war ebenfalls sehr freundlich und alles lief super und problemlos ab. Unsere Dschungeltrekkingtour mit einer Übernachtung im Dschungel buchten wir auch über die Unterkunft. Es wurde alles perfekt organisiert. Unsere beiden Guides Randy und Toni waren grandios. Sehr sehr nett. Sie konnten uns viel erklären und waren immer bemüht, dass es uns gut geht, da die Trekkingtour doch schon etwas anstrengend ist. Sie zauberten phantastisches Essen aus ihren Rucksäcken und abends wurden wir bekocht. Wir haben mega viel gesehen. Klare Weiterempfehlung. Das war unglaublich schön. Vielen Dank an alle.

Beautiful location, with live entertainment of monkeys across the river (macaques, leaf monkeys and even a very distant orang utan for us), nice comfy room and a very responsive and helpful host. Close proximity to a lot of food options and the national park of course.

Pillows arent the cleanest under their covers, but for the rest a very clean room. FYI for all, power outages are common Bukit Lawang village. For us no problem, but noticable. More power outlets or an extension cable would improve this place.

Neu und sauber. Grosses Bett. Terrasse am Fluss. Frühstück wird auf die Terrasse Serviert. Grosses, sauberes und schönes Bad. Direkt neben dem Haus gibt es ein Warung (Richtung Dorf) wo mit viel Liebe sehr gut gekocht wird.

Leider gab es in beiden gebuchten Zimmern kein warmes Wasser zum Duschen. Trotz mehrerer Reparaturversuche haben wir kalt geduscht. Vermutlich war nur die Gasflasche leer. Schade. Das Haus erreicht man in 20-30 min zu Fuss oder mit dem Mopedtaxi. Eine direkte Anfahrt mit dem Auto ist nicht möglich.

Een super fijne locatie. Je wordt opgehaald bij de parking en netjes naar de homestay gebracht op een scooter. De jungle trip 2 dgn 1 nacht was super georganiseerd door Derek en Tony en jungle mama.

Unser Aufenthalt war eine Kombination aus 3 Nächten im Homestay und eine Nacht im Dschungel. Dedek ist sehr bemüht, mit ihm machten wir eine Bat-cave Tour mit BBQ am Fluss (👍👍👍) und er organisierte ein Dschungel-Trekking mit Übernachtung für uns (👍👍👍). Mit Jhony und Toni waren wir dann im Dschungel. Die beiden sehr kompetenten Guides zeigten und erklärten uns so einiges. Muss man mal gemacht haben. Wir können uns wirklich nicht beschweren, die 4 Tage in Bukit Lawang werden wir nicht vergessen.

Dedek und seine Familie sind sehr aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Ich hatte einen tollen und spannenden Trekkingtag mit ihm. Spontan konnte ich meinen Aufenthalt unkompliziert verlängern.

Amazing stay. Comfy bed, amazing staff and amazing day trekking tour. I also saw Orangutans from my room within 5 minutes of arriving! Sat on my balcony and there they were opposite in the trees. Also loved sitting by the river down from my room. Great experience and a great stay. Highly recommend. My guide really looked after me and the best fruit bowl was prepared and nice vegetarian lunch

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Bukit Lawang, the bed is very comfortable and the views out onto the river and jungle are amazing.

Lovely simple room with great amenities - warm shower, kettle for how water, air conditioner, porch overlooking the river. Dedek and Sonia were super attentive. Breakfast was made to order and very tasty. Dedek also arranged a 1-day trek, transport from and to Medan, and even drove me into town for an errand. So friendly and warm. The white noise from the river means you don't hear any town noises.

Wir haben uns für das Homestay entschieden, da sie auch Touren angeboten haben. Wir haben beide Zimmerkategorie gehabt. würden aber das mit Balkon bevorzugen. Lage ist super. Frühstück war gut, aber nicht so reichhaltig. Nebenan ist ein gutes Cafe.Unsere absolute gute Entscheidung für das Homestay. Wir haben eine private Tour bekommen. Ein klein bisschen teurer als die Touranbieter, dafür haben wir aber nicht mit 4-6 Personen in der Dschungelunterkunft schlafen müssen. Beide Guides haben sich komplett nach uns gerichtet.

Wir haben auch den Flughafen-Shuttle über die Unterkunft gebucht. Preislich super. Leider hat uns der erste Fahrer in eine Wechselstube geschleppt unter einen Vorwand, sowie auch bei der SIM Karte. alles viel zu teuer. Außerdem hat er uns erzählt, dass 5 bis 6 Stunden die Fahrt dauert ohne Mautgebühren. Mit mit Maut.. kostenpflichtig viel kürzer. also haben wir die Maut zusätzlich bezahlt. Die Rückreise war dann ohne Maut 3.5 Stunden. also vorsichtig

ブキトラワンのホテル街は車の入れない川沿いにあります。宿のオーナーはゲートまで迎えにきてくれ、モーターバイクで宿まで送迎してくれました。予約を入れるとすぐメールでトレッキングツアーの紹介をしてくれて、オランウータンや他の動物たち、素晴らしいキャンプやラフティングを楽しむことが出来ました。部屋もテラスが川の目の前でリラックスでき、熱いシャワーが気持ちよかったです。レストランも近くに沢山ありロケーション抜群です。

カードが使えず、ツアー等はキャッシュ払いなので両替を予めしておく必要があります。朝食はバナナクレープで美味しかったです。もう一品フルーツなどが付くとなお良いでしょう。

Clean, tidy, comfortable. Fantastic location-we were lucky enough to see an orangutan , monitor lizards and monkeys from our patio area by the river. Breakfast was flexible to our time requirements & delicious. The owner-who speaks excellent English & is very friendly- does numerous tours. We did 3 of them & they were amazing. Our guides(Balou & Amin) were great:friendly, attentive & took good care of us to make our experience wonderful.

Nice clean room with western bathroom and balcony with view (and access) to the river. The jungletrek with Dedek was very nice, he adapts the route and the walking pace based on the wishes of the guest.

La cama súper cómoda y el baño genial. La terracita de fuera es top!! La ubicación es increíble, vimos macacos y orangutanes a la otra orilla del río desde la propia habitación! Lo mejor, el trekking 2D 1N que hicimos con Jhonny y Toni 🤟muy atentos y simpáticos. Vimos mogollón de orangutanes y distintos monos y nos enseñaron muchas curiosidades de la selva. Un 10 !!!

Tutto! Il trekking è stato meraviglioso e abbiamo visto tanti oranghi…i ragazzi che ci hanno portato a fare il trekking erano dolcissimi e gentilissimi. La camera era pulitissima e non ho visto nemmeno un insetto dentro nonostante fosse in mezzo alla giungla. La vista dalla camera era strepitosa ed è stata una delle vacanze più belle della mia vita

Fantastic location. Didi and all the people I met couldn’t do enough to help. I did the 2d/1n jungle trek with Jonny and Jerry and ipan (the chef). Superb. It was a tough trek and I took the riverside walk the following day back then met with the others for rafting back to the village. Felt really looked after 😊

Amazing place to stay and the hosts are wonderful people. They arranged a 4 day jungle trekking which was an amazing experience and well organized!

Hands down the best of the 3 places we stayed at in our one-week in Bukit Lawang. It's so dreamy and we were very sad to leave. Besides the aircon and Hot water shower, the location is unbeatable with the river flowing right outside the balcony. We even saw two orangutans hanging from trees from right across the river! The hosts were extremely friendly and gracious, they offered the best rates on transfers too! The Wild River restaurant next door is very good and offers value for money. Book here!

It was a really, really nice stay in Bukit Lawang! Our hosts, Reynold and Dedek, Indonesian people are the most friendly persons we have met on our holidays, these guys are the superlative of this friendlyness! And then of course our two guides, Johnny and Tonny. Most friendly, telling everything about the jungle, and a big dosis of humor. That makes the trekking, although sometimes really a steep climb, something you most have done. But only with these guys, the best guides there are. Everything was okay. Please be aware, price - quality was more than fantastic. You are in the jungle, behind our stay the beautiful river, in the morning monkeys walking by at the orther side of the river, also spotted a dragon (varaan) in the river.

Deze homestay is echt geweldig. Wij hebben het hier ontzettend naar ons zin gehad. Ik zou iedereen aanraden hier te verblijven. De jungletrek die we via hier hebben geboekt was ook geweldig, de gidsen maakten het helemaal af en zorgde ervoor dat we niets tekort kwamen. Wij zouden hier zeker weer heen gaan!

A wonderful, spacious and room with a great view of the river. The terrace is a good place to sit and watch it while having breakfast or a drink. The location is perfect, on a more quiet side of Bukit Lawang, but with lots of options around for eating (loved the bread from next door's NatureSoul!) Spacious and very clean bathroom with hot water. Dedek is a great host, very welcoming, and making sure that everything was ok for me. He arranged a 2d/1n jungle trek with a small group, which was awesome, thanks to guides Edwin and Riswan. Highlight of my stay in Sumatra!

The room was right on the water’s edge. We could get into the river from right next to our room. DD was very helpful when we arrived and gave us lots of useful information. He also arranged a jungle trek for us with Johnny and Donny. They couldn’t have been more amazing! The food was outstanding and we were helped at every step. We saw 5 orangutans and the tubing back was fabulous too.

A/c and hot water. Clean with a beautiful view. Coffee shop downstairs next to the home stay serves hot bread and has an espresso machine. Location is good, next to the river and near exit from rafting back from the jungle. We did not book tours with the hotel but it seems all the hotels pull guides from the same pool and I’m sure they can set up anything you want to do. I would recommend coming back to the home stay each night to shower and relax in the a/c to rejuvenate before another day of hiking.

No shampoo but can be bought for 25 cents at the corner store.

We just absolutely loved this place! It was at the start of our Sumatra trip and this place was probably one of the cleanest and nicest places we stayed at. With a family of five we had both rooms to ourselves. Dedek and his team did everything in their power to cater to our needs. It felt very personal. It is a bit away from the much bigger and fancier places, which also makes the spot quieter and more personal. The pancakes in the morning and the juice was great. And the jungle trekking was amazing! Again, our guide Johnny made sure we had the best spots to make the nicest pictures. Him and Tony made a really nice fruit salad and took us to a nice stream to enjoy lunch, always checking if it was safe and free of monkeys. Also they organised a bike tour which was great as well. We absolutely recommend this place!

It's a great location. Views over the river. Very clean. Lovely breakfast brought to our rooms each morning by Dedek's wife. The homestay booked airport transfer, a cookery class, and jungle trek in advance. Whilst there, Dedek arranged a visit to the Bat caves and BBQ by the river. All the activities and excursions were excellent. We saw several Orangutans on our one day trek and then travelled back to the hotel by river.

Very nice trekking, privately organised as I was with my 8 year old. Too much food, very good, lovely presentation. Dani was taking great care of my over impulsive, active son. Visit of the bat cave also excellent, Dedek and Dani were very attentive. Saw lots of bats and even male&female orangutan over the cave which was totally unexpected. The homestay is great. No communal area but it did not matter to us.

We loved the room just above the river. Very clean, air con in the room, big bed and big room. Breakfast was served on our balcony the day of the trekking. Otherwise lovely little resto next door with great choises for breakfast. Dedek is very kind and helpful. Great stay!

We booked the two-day jungle trek through Ridho’s homestay and it was fantastic. The jungle guides were so friendly, knowledgeable and it made the trip so fun! We were lucky to see lots of orangutan’s and black gibbons. Ridho also sorted our transport from Berastagi to Bukit Lawang and from Bukit Lawang to the airport. The location is great looking across the river and there are some lovely restaurants and bars a few minutes walk away.

Bear in mind the cashpoint is a few kilometres from the homestay (not the homestay’s fault), so it’s best to make sure you have enough cash before you arrive. However if you forget, the jungle guides can drive you to the cashpoint if needed as they are super helpful!

The location was incredible and the room was so clean and spacious and clean. We loved it!

The homestay is located on the riverside and our room was spacious and clean. We woke up one morning to see monkeys crossing the stream and had one visit our balcony one afternoon. There isn’t a restaurant associated with the homestay but there are many restaurants a short walk away. Dedek helped us resolve minor issues right away and was able to help with laundry service as well. He arranged a jungle trek for us with Nanang and Tony and we had a wonderful time filled with lots of orangutan sightings. I was nervous about the river tubing since we can’t swim but the ride back was fun and exhilarating!

One of the greatest locations we have ever stayed. Beautiful room on the ground floor with a view over the riverside and jungle. Near nice restaurants and at a quiet street which is only accessible by scooter. Delicious breakfast, the hosts are always available for questions and requests. The organized jungle track was amazing. Our guides Ricaldo and Tony shared so much information over the jungle and we encountered several species of monkeys. Really special to spend a night deep in the jungle.

A side table or a little bit more space to store small items would have been nice. And maybe a hammock.

From the moment we were warmly welcomed by Team Ridho in Medan to the moment they safely transported us to our lift for Berastagi, our experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Their hospitality was truly exceptional. The facilities were impeccably clean and felt almost brand new. We opted to use their services for a jungle trek and an elephant visit, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The team went above and beyond to cater to our every need, making our adventure unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone seeking an outstanding experience

A great place overlooking the river. Very comfortable, and a nice place to come back to after trekking. Run by lovely helpful people. Raymend was very responsive, and we had a great jungle trek with Dedek & Jhonny who found us plenty of orangutans, including a large male. We recommend taking the trek through Ridho's place (same price as everywhere else, and great people to spend the day with). Also great food cooked by Dedeks wife & Jhonnys mum!

Met at the top of the village by Dedek and Jonny to help us with our bags by motorbike to the homestay. These guys could not do enough for us and Made our stay in Bukit Lawang which in itself is a great place to visit. We did a one day trek with them, and thoroughly enjoyed the day seeing orangutans in the wild, and jungle taxiing back to the village. We did a cookery course with Jonnys Mum and a Village tour on the third day by bicycle which was a great way to learn more about the area. On top of that it’s a very comfortable room overlooking the river, we had the upstairs. Superb few days, really worth visiting and we will be recommending to friends and family.

Be aware no ATMs in Bukit Lawang and the one in the nearby town didnt like our Mastercard, so suggest sorting cash out in Medan or wherever you are coming from. Did manage to get cash back from one restaurant but I wouldn’t rely on it and the commission was 7% so quite steep.

Amazing homestay right on the river! The guides, Dedek and Jonny, were exceptional! Highly recommend this homestay if you are going to Bukit Lawang. The huge fan in the room for drying clothes is a great touch!

Very pleased I chose to stay at Ridho's Homestay during my time in Bukit lawang. Very comfortable room with incredible views. I even saw orangutans from my room which was mind blowing :) I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing holiday in a beautiful place on the river bank in Bukit Lawang. The hospitable owner helped to bring the luggage to the room and organized an amazing two-day trek into the jungle to see orangutans. The room is clean with a wonderful veranda overlooking the river. I recommend this guesthouse to anyone who wants to visit Bukit Lawang

Room was spotlessly clean and had a great view of the river and the jungle beyond. Deedek was a very gracious host. He will pick you up at the car drop off point and also bring you back. In several other ways, he was very proactive and eager to please. Excellent breakfast prepared and served by Deedek’s wife, who was not only an terrific cook, but also the sweetest person in the world

Did not sleep well as the mattress was too hard for me. Had some sticker shock over the cost of a one day jungle trek. It was much more expensive than my previous visit prior to Covid. That said, Deedek and Johnny were extremely knowledgeable and informative. We did see a lot of orangutans on our trek, so it was not only educational, but we had a great time.

super spacious room with a balkony view of the river and jungle. host had everything prepared but otherwise left you to enjoy everything in piece. even gave the key to my tour company for easy check in returning from the jungle. too service and everything super clean

Fantastic location in the heart of Bukit Lawang, just a short walk to supermarkets and restaurants. The view of the river right outside the door is beautiful

Only problem in all of Bukit Lawang is the loud motorbikes going around all morning.

I liked the staff kindness and their willingness to help. Also, the trekking guide was exceptional: respectuous to nature and people and very knowledgeable. All rooms have a great view on the river with a green jungle wall behind. The area is quiet and surrounded by nature and other small guesthouses. The room was perfectly clean and spacious.

There is no common space in the guesthouse. However, to like it or no depends on each traveller's needs
