Selection of TV channels was very limited and none were to our taste or for children.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026Even though the hotel is located slightly outside of clarens, the view from the room was very nice. Early morning waking up and seeing nature was amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The hotel room was close to the main road to Clarens and even a service road, and so in the night it was very difficult due to travelling vehicles. Because of the room door and windows with some gaps, this was a bit difficult. The room air-conditioning unit also didn't work for some time.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Easy to find location and nice to have the restaurant in-house. That was one of the main criteria why we opted for it. Rooms are really nicely decorated and it even had a small fireplace. Optional wood for a reasonable fee was provided which is a nice touch on a cold winters evening. Cappuccino for breakfast was nice. Staff was very friendly and polite.
The bathroom was very cold, perhaps because it had an outside wall but it was not very pleasant in the morning since it also took some time to catch warm water in the shower. Restaurant ran out of one option we chose and I took then an alternative. But it tasted like cardboard and I returned half of it. Partner had a tomato soup and he didn’t enjoy it either. And he generally loves tomato soup. The roll that was served with the soup was also no alternative as it was stale, dry and hard as a rock. We mentioned it to the waitress and even let her „feel“ the roll but she just said that that’s how it is. As if it was the normal quality standard, which would be sad. Breakfast was ok. The room was lovely but the restaurant could’ve been much better.

1. We were place in a room without a balcony facing directly into another room even though are request for a balcony room was approved. 2. Secure parking was confirmed on the booking, but our vehicle had to stand in the street. 3. Water pressure of the shower was extremely low. 4. Bathroom door in our room 9 was extremely noisy, hinges need some oil. 5. Breakfast was of a very poor quality (eggs and bacon were dried out and the sausages were dry and overcooked. 6. On our departure the receptionist provided us with an invoice for my wife's spar treatment that was already paid the day before.

The restaurant is nicely painted but lacked any plants, decor or ambiance. The gospel music in the background was not to my liking and could actually offend some people, so they need to get someone in there to sort this out please. It is a wonderful Hotel but needs some TLC. The bar chairs are so threadbare and it lacks personality.

I found the hotel a little dated and untidy. Some flower beds had rubbish in them that looked like it had been there for a while. Rooms are a little dated and old. Need an upgrade generally.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026We had an amazing stay at this beautiful 4-star hotel. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with both a shower and a bathtub. We loved the thoughtful touches, including the welcome note and chocolates. The coffee station with rusks, mini fridge, fireplace with wood provided, and air conditioning made the room extra comfortable during the cold weather. The mountain views were absolutely breathtaking, and the buffet breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options.
Honestly, there wasn’t much to dislike. Our stay was comfortable and exceeded our expectations.

Reviewed Apr 28, 2026The breakfast spread was good but they can add some kind of fish to it. Most of the warm breakfast was deep fried, for example mushrooms can be grilled. With a chef preparing the eggs, and the option of having an omelette it will be better. The pub was supposed to be open till 22:00, the barman did open it again. No coffee available for Irish coffee. The barman didn't know how to pour a "Springbokkie".

The Spa staff are professional and the facial products feel amazing on the skin. The family room that my daughter used had the cot, microwave and extra things to help a young family have a lovely time. The hotel advised on hikes, and other fun things to do. We will always come back. Thank you

Zimmer haben keine eigene Terrasse und man ist etwas ausgestellt, wenn man den Vorhang nicht zieht. Speziell wenn das Hotel sehr voll ist kann es viel "geläuf* vor dem Hotelzimmer geben.
