It was our first time to stay at the Crown Inn and we had a wonderful yet tranquil stay. We know Cotswold very well so we are wondering why we had never spotted this lovely hidden jem. Firstly the beds (we requested twin) were very comfortable with high quality cotton sheets. The lamps, bedside tables, window blinds were stylishly decorated. We loved the selection of tea and coffee in the room. The bathrobes were very soft and comfortable. Having a bath tub was a such a bonus. We enjoyed the dinner a lot. Today's special (fig, beans, mozzarella with fresh almond) and half lobster were so flesh and delicious. The footpaths we enjoyed before dinner was beautiful. It was a perfect stay.

Very quaint. Really lovely food in the restaurant for dinner. Excellent breakfast.
The bedroom was just a little small for the price. Lovely big bathroom though.
Beautiful cottage
Shower needs some maintenance
Old original rooms Staff were very friendly and helped me up a lot of stairs with a heavy suitcase before I even asked
Rooms a little small, Shower weak
Such an amazing location staff were super friendly and helpful and we loved our room
The breakfast wasn’t great the eggs tasted of meat and parking wasn’t easy
Everything Staff lovely and room beautiful
Nothing. But for me it was quite a way out but if you loved walking this place is exactly what you want
Beautiful pub. Room lovely and clean. Food really nice. Staff friendly. Bed comfortable. Looking over a watched cottage at the front. It was busy because the sun was out. And summer holidays.
I’m afraid. Breakfast ordered boiled eggs and soldiers. Sorry but you need egg cups for drippy eggs and eggs need to be soft. Or just say it’s hard boiled eggs with toast and don’t do soldiers. Just my opinion.
Very quirky and quaint! Not great if you are very tall as there are lots of low doorways and beems. But sooo full of character.
Very poor parking.
Was really nice and comfortable
Although the property was really clean the toilet in our room was really stained and off putting
Clean and comfortable rooms
Struggled with parking
Picture perfect, great food
Access a little tricky upstairs
It’s location and food was good
Nothing really
Cosy place and friendly staff

Food
Room was spacious and clean. Nice shower. Breakfast was good.
Location was fine. A bit out of the way. Would prob stay in Bourton on the Wold if in area again. Staff were all very good and breakfast was nice. Husband enjoyed his egg, ham and chips for dinner too.
Car parking very limited. Attic room was small with beams which my husband kept hitting his head off. Room was boiling during heatwave. No AC or fridge.
Very little…Very little parking to begin with. The reception area/bar/restaurant if you could call it that was dingy with a horrible smell.
Everything..It felt un-clean.The stairs to our bedroom were totally unsafe with hand rails off the wall. Our room was stifling hot.Unbearable actually. Breakfast was awful, swimming in grease and it just felt dirty.
The waiting/bar staff were excellent as was breakfast. Welcome non existent
We are in our 80’s and my husband has Alzheimer’s. We were in an attic room with narrow winding stairs difficult to negotiate and heavy fire doors to open. No help was offered with our cases. Our room was very hot with a very small window so no air coming in . We couldn’t close the blind at night because there was no air so consequently got bitten terribly. I found a fan in the room at midnight but it was broken, covered in dust and looked as if it hadn’t been used in a very long time . As it was too late to contact staff for a replacement we just had to grin and bear it! Whist the breakfast was excellent our evening meal was disappointing and not good value for money.
Character and friendly. Great beer and breakfast.
Nothing
Beautiful old cottage b&b all original, absolutely stunning
There was nothing to dislike about this property
Overall a good stay. The restaurant was excellent and breakfasts unbelievable!
There was a heat wave and we were very uncomfortable in our rooms with no airconditioning, and there was very little ventilation. I understand that this type of weather is not the norm but maybe they could think about portable airconditioning?
Location was fantastic. The staff were so friendly & service was impeccable. The food….. oh my days. I had the best steak I have ever tasted. The breakfast was amazing. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Beautiful!
Nothing!
Beautiful old pub in a very quiet tiny hamlet. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. I love that they supply small bottles of fresh milk in a fridge near the rooms, eliminating the need for the horrible small plastic milk containers.
Sadly the pub closed early on the Sunday evening we stayed which meant we couldn’t get a drink when we returned from our day out. This is very picky but the mugs in the rooms were really small and had funny handles which meant they were difficult to hold!
Beautiful old country pub in a great location, our room was lovely and the facilities were great. Breakfast was lovely and lots to choose from
We booked for dinner one evening and unfortunately wasn't impressed with the menu or the food
Beautiful old building - very clean and comfy - tea/coffee provided, lovely huge bed and spacious bathroom - Breakfast and choices excellent
Parking is difficult- not many spaces -
Really charming little country inn. Delicious food, nice beds, very friendly staff. Charmingly decorated with a very friendly atmosphere, and close to all sorts of picturesque villages.
The window in my room only opened an inch and it was the middle of a heatwave. So it was crazy hot. So hot I had to leave at 7pm on my second night and go home. I think the hotel could have planned better for heat.
The room had a really bad damp smell which was tried to be disguised by some sort of "smelly" The internet was shocking when travelling for work you need internet.
Beautiful building very clean
Quaint pub in a v pretty village - friendly staff
Dinner wasn’t great. Steak v chewy although tasty Huge winter weight duvet completely wrong as it was v warm. We were in the attic room which was small and there were plenty of beams to bash your head on. Our travelling companions had a fabulous room!!
Location, team and food!!
Nothing
-sehr freundliches Personal -Zimmer recht klein, aber sehr bequem und liebevoll eingerichtet - Essen hervorragend
Breakfast was really good. Garden and dining area nice. Location was good for us. Bed comfortable.
We had a top floor room in eaves and bumped our heads fairly frequently. The shower was over the bath and could be a problem. We were staying over heatwave so room fairly hot.
Friendly staff, great food. Lovely decor.
The location was beautiful. The cottage was perfect apart from all the stairs I have a disability and hadn't realised the stairs involved. The Crown in and grounds- staff amazing but I didnt enjoy my evening meal so only ate main meal once, not a lot of choice my chicken was very brown and chewy. Breakfast amazing bob on!. So the few things id change.. add more options to main meal eg a burger. Chicken option. Outdoor of the pub which included the cottages outdoor area was unkempt a few trip hazards, and too open, no privacy, i would of preferred to have my own private section, staff and visitors had to walk past use all the time to get to the studio, in the evening people sat outside of the pub could see directly into the cottage! More privacy needed if that was done i would defo return.
Sorry typed my answer in the first box
Old building with character
No air conditioning very hot, small rooms.
Great location, staff and food.
We hired the cottage which supposedly had an outside area. However pub patrons were sat in the pub garden 5 feet from our kitchen window and bathroom. This gave zero privacy in these areas and limited privacy in the lounge. Outside the back door was very tatty with lighting cables strewn on the floor along with rusty screws and broken guttering. Unhygienic shower which we dare not use. Great bath though. Such a shame that there was nowhere outside to relax privately as the rest of the experience was really good.
Very helpful staff , even let us order meals over the phone as was going to be late arrivals Huge bed!
Breakfast is only served at 8.30 which meant we couldn’t eat breakfast before needing to leave
The staff were excellent and very helpful
Car parking was difficult Uk lt
Lovely old inn with comfortable rooms and excellent food. Was particularly impressed by the guests' fridge offering fresh milk and water. On the second day housekeeping had thoughtfully left us an ice bucket and chilled our bottle of wine ready for our return. Toni handled our departure perfectly, having already split our bill as requested at check in.
We had particularly booked a twin room yet when we arrived it had been set up as a double. Whilst the food was excellent the choice at dinner was rather restricted.
Convenient for where we had been.
The property was lovely and we love the old places but the beams in the the bedroom and bathroom was a bit much, especially we are tall people.
Quiet location but close enough for Blenheim Palace. We stayed in the studio, the biggest bed we have ever slept in. Beautiful free standing bath. Lovely breakfast. The most wonderful, friendly & helpful staff!!
Sofa needed replacing and shower needed re-sealing around the tray BUT that aside, current owners have only taken over 7 weeks ago, we wish them all the luck in the world.
Well located, nice old world charm (mind your head) ! Food great, room very comfortable. Only minor downsides were the lack of parking, and the shower in our room was very weak. Other than that, it was a very nice stay.
Beautiful property, in a lovely quiet village, perfect location with lots to do around the area.

Gemütlicher alter Pub in ruhiger Lage. Viel Natur drum herum.
Niets
Excellent staff and great location.
Great breakfast. Excellent service. We had dinner in the pub’s restaurant and it was excellent
Nice traditional old friendly pub/restaurant, the drinks were good and so was the food, the breakfast was really good with local produce and plenty to eat and drink.
Nothing I can think of, all was fine, the rooms were comfortable and warm and clean, a couple of damp patches around the windows but nothing to complain about.
The full English and the yogurt
No fresh fruit.
Great pub, friendly staff, nice food (limited menu)
tired
Only down fall is all places is along with others in the locality putting on a 12 per cent service charge.
Location. A traditional old pub and accommodation with a great feel. Staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond their day to day duties. A good knowledge of places to visit and the best way to get there.
Nothing
Very nice rooms with good quality furnishings. Comfortable bed. Fresh milk for each room a nice touch
Unfortunately for us there was a problem and it meant no cooked options for breakfast! When you pay for a decent room including breakfast you expect to get a good breakfast!
Lovely quiet location , beautiful architecture ,lovely decorated bedroom home from home .
Fabulous outpost and super cosy cottage in the Cotswolds. Great staff, special mention to Georgia for her great coffee and breakfast, Tom for the early check in and very good bar food and Guinness. Thank you so much. We will be back!
Quaint essential English
Characterful. Cosy bar. Super friendly staff - wonderful. Simple but very well cooked and presented food, done wirh pride and care. Best cooked breakfast ever. Great quality ingredients. Made to feel both welcome and comfortable. Pleasant garden.
Needs investment and improvements. Bed mattress needs replacing, bathroom tiling needs re-grouting and deep cleaning. All towels need replacing (they are grey with use rather than white). Stairway and hall carpets stained. Windows all need replacing - badly peeling paintwork etc. Garden could be a real gem - but needs tidying up. Some maintenance and TLC could be transformative.
Breakfast was very tasty Linda and all the staff were very friendly Room had everything you need and the fresh milk fridge for guests is a very good touch
Unusual to not have baked beans with a full English breakfast. Perhaps warn guests that the attic room has low beams so taller people like us would seek a lower bedroom
Very clean and nice interior. Very cosy and brilliant location.
Comfier sofa in living room and maybe a TV in bedroom.
Cosy and comfortable property in a stunning village location. Excellent attentive staff, great food in the pub and the Full English breakfast was fabulous!! Highly recommended…
Nothing…
The size of our room/studio/converted garage and the staff ( especially Tom for being kind and very helpful ) The stonework / uniqueness / cosy bar The food was nice apart from our first breakfast.
Location ( it is not in chipping Norton as address states ) taxis’s very expensive and very hard to book / get one for example most cabs 5 miles from train station £35 The housekeeping was very not cleaned well no water on a daily basis and the towels and dressing should be in the bin they are meant to be white and are very very grey ( for over £220 night you would expect daily water and nice white bathroom linen ) and your bathroom cleaned. The general maintenance /cleanliness of the whole place is not great, Lighting at night very poor on route to the studio very bad/ dangerous pot holes on route you could break an ankle very easily, Big rat trap and bins sitting at the entrance to the studio, the pathway /steps /small garden at the studio needed some weeding/ maintenance/ and a good powerhose area was really mucky and all the dead apples lifted not to attract rats!!! Which left the outside space very unappealing to sit out, The breakfast was very poor the first day, the following days was much nicer, One choice of juice for breakfast ( orange which wasn’t good at all ) breakfast menu was poor lacking in choice and no fresh fruit on offer Too many dogs for me especially when allowed everywhere even in the restaurant. They need the toilet flush fixed in bedroom.
Staff amazing, food excellent, bed very comfortable and bathroom unique but very practical
Parking tricky
Breakfast was good all day bar menu wasn't available on Sunday but it was advertised on line it was!
Parking was terrible and if people new that I'd think it would put alot off staying
Everything
Nothing at all
The Crown Inn was so cosy and in a picturesque quiet village. The bed was comfortable and we slept really well. We really enjoyed playing cards by candlelight in the pub before bed and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We absolutely loved the breakfast too, local and fresh ingredients. The brioche buns were homemade fresh that morning, paired with bacon from a local farm it was the best bacon bap I have ever eaten! The village was a perfect location to drive easily to many different areas in the Cotswolds.
Such a small thing but a coat stand or coat hooks in the room would have been great for our soggy coats after a day out.
Beautiful old pub with friendly staff. Lovely food. Overall, it was a great stay.
Excellent environment and typified quintessential British Pub. Superb food and very friendly staff. The rooms were tastefully finished and very cosy.
Parking a bit of an issue, but we arrived when Sundays lunch was in full flow. Had to wait nearly an hour for breakfast but the quality of food was worth the wait.
Buen sitio para una noche de paso a Oxford. Buena comida y ambiente en el restaurante. La habitación limpia y agradable.
El lugar es bastante aislado del movimiento de ciudad. Es muy tranquilo y no hay mucho que hacer
The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The food is exceptional whether it be breakfast or dinner everything we had was delicious. The bar has a great atmosphere with friendly regulars.
The property was very well kept, the staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were very comfortable and the food was incredible.
Nothing- it was fantastic.
The area is stunning and the inn itself is beautiful, friendly staff and locals and great food.
Cosy, lots of character. tea & coffee facilities provided. Clean towels, warm & comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom with roll top bath & walk in shower.
Stairs quite tight but not a problem as this was due to the character of the property. We were unable to get an uber cab as drivers were not happy to drive out even though it was not far from town. Also not a lot of parking available.
Lovely building great staff for dinner but room and breakfast quite expensive and location was a bit out of the way .
Nice time with friends
Great place to stay and exceptional food. Would recommend
Food and service was excellent. The accommodation was fantastic
Nothing
The staff were great, food was lovely and the room was comfortable. Lovely location too, nice and quiet relaxing break.
The bar was a little basic.
The location was superb for our plans. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They only had 1x vegetarian dish on the menu but made a different dish on night 2 of our stay to save us driving out somewhere. The bathroom is lovely - with a lovely large roll top bath for 2.
The downstairs to the cottage only has 1 heater and 2 oil filled radiators. The kitchen heater situated underneath the cooker did put some heat out but without all this heating on the cottage felt cold downstairs. We didn’t know we needed to buy kindling etc for the coal fire so we were not prepared. There was only 1 bathroom robe too.
