Convenient for hospital appointment. Room comfortable
Not many plug points for chargers, CPAP machines. Etc.
Location
The bathroom was in a tearable condition
Beds comfortable, room good size, warm welcome at reception and food excellent value for money. Plenty of parking
Nothing
Good location for what we wanted.
Very dirty room. Corridors smelt damp and musty. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.
The room in question was ok
The tv didnt work properly. There was a big stain on the carpet and the Internet wouldnt connect
Room was not good standard. Worn furniture and running marks on headboard
Shower pressure was good, breakfast was nice, bed was comfortable.
Place could do with a refurb, no AC, not very clean
Location
Outdated and the bathroom appeared unclean and mouldy.
Staff food good bathroom disgrace black mould pealing paint of panels could not run water into bath only by shower.
Staff friendly food good vslue
Convenience to M6 to get away
Communal areas were smelly and noisy
The food included was great from the mount pub/restaurant
Basic room and no second child bed was a mattress on the floor
Easy to reach location, just couple turns away from motorway. Quiet and very well looked place. Very friendly staff. Hotel is not in the main building so it's much calmer, big car park, big room and comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast too
Location to motorway
Bathroom, needed a lot of updating
In desperate need of a refurbe but price going up and no improvements we have stay here many times over last 10 years but during covid it really went down. The floor in bathroom has really broken up and rotting this was right where you would step out of bath I went down the dip and sprained my ankle. Black mould all round bath middle. Strong musty smell on leave 2. No aircon or fan in room. We had 2 tea bags and 2 coffee sachets but only 2 milk. They used to have replenishments in reception area but nothing available or any staff to to ask.
Close to the M6
Always stay here in orrell because it’s convenient for me
Nothing it was fine
Close to motorway for half way stop off from North Scotland to South Devon. Easy to get to, parking no problem. Helpful friendly staff in restaurant & reception. Even though close to motorway, the secondary glazing cut out the traffic noise surprisingly well. Room slightly dated but clean & comfy. Will stay here next time we come this way.
Thank you for all our stays amazing staff great stay
Location Good size room
The shower. Didn’t switch from bath to just shower. Couldn’t regulate water temperature. Sink tap you had to make sure it was turned tightly off, otherwise kept running. Pillows were not comfortable.
Location was fantastic for where we needed to go. Beds was comfy.
Shower not working properly and overall bathroom requires modernisation.
Great having a pub next door for meals. Parking onsite. Good breakfast. Great price when on a budget.
Very dated rooms. Stains and stickiness on sofa. Room smelled of damp.
The wifi didn't work at all during my stay
Staff were very helpful, I arrived late due to issues elsewhere and even tho I was past check-in time I was still able to check-in. Room was comfortable & clean. Shower was nice & hot. Sleep very very well
Nothing really
I could find no fault with this visit
Staff did what they could
Door lock insecure, mouldy ensuite, toilet flush difficult, no ventilation due to closed windows due to road noise.
Cheap and clean. Staff were very helpful and efficient
Large puddle on bathroom floor when I arrived (possibly slow leak}. Bathmat wet when I arrived, and couldnt get shower to work.
Amazing staff as always and meals and breakfast was lovely. Ideal for my hospital appts at the Wrightington which is only a short drive away or for trips into Manchester.
The only issue we ever have is lack of disabled parking as hill an issue to walk from car park due to mobility issues. There is 2 spaces outside but often guests without disabled parking badges use these 😡. Given a room downstairs but receptionist helped me with luggage in future will request a disabled access room
staff was great
everything apart from the staff
Local
Very outdated. Needs a refurb
My wife is disabled and Darren the Receptionist went over and above for us on our trip back up from Wales to Scotland. He ensured we had a parking space immediately outside Reception. Being a very hot day, Darren had a cooled fan running for a while before we arrived, so our room was nicely chilled. Heaven! We were in a spacious, comfortable, accessible room, right next to Reception. A very comfortable Bed, hand-rails and a marvellous shower in the bath, made for a great stay. The Mount Inn (a Hungry Horse pub) was a very short walk (30m) up the lane. It served delicious, varied food & drink and this is where you have breakfast, both Continental and cooked. I had the best pint of Madri lager there I have ever had! Will definitely use the hotel on all of our future trips to/from Wales. Highly recommended!
The shower curtain tended to stick to your body and got in the way a bit. Maybe some kind of retractable shower screen installed would be a bonus. The pub had a very small step up (3inches?) at the double-doored entrance, but the friendly and efficient staff were on hand to help. Maybe a short ramp would make it completely accessible.
Great location and clean rooms
unfortunately these rooms are not suitable for summer nights. We were on first floor and day temperatures outside were 25-27’C but overnight these rooms were much hotter than outside temperatures and stayed mid 20’s temperatures overnight even with windows wide open and 1 simple fan provided we slept on top of the bed for 4 nights in a row .
Chose not to have breakfast as its limited, the hotel could do with abit of refurbishment, and maybe consider putting a mini fridge especially when it is so hot.Really pleased that there was a electric fan in the room, window on the outside was filthy, with food dumped on the window sill, love the bed
A Fridge would be fantastic especially with the heat waves, trying to make sure my drink container stayed cold for travelling home the next day, meant l had to fill the bathroom sink with cold water to keep the flask cold
Large free car park. Practical being next to the pub with good price for food and drink.
Rooms were okay and as expected for the price. The big things that stood out for me was the pillows inside the pillow case were yellow and brown. I didnt look inside purposefully but when tossing and turning in the night it came out where I could see it and same with my partners pillow. The bathroom was covered in mould especially round the silicone. The remote from the tv was extremely grubby to the point where we didnt use the tv becuase we didnt want to touch it. Heavy smell of damp through out
Staff very accommodating and friendly and food was very nice
Location and price
Needs an update...tired rooms, damp smell around hotel.
Location
Early check in wasn't ready for 12... all had to get ready in 1 room
The breackfast was really good at £9. The pub was great for dinner and beer, lovely garden. The staff were very helpful. very easy to get on and off the M6
The matress and bed were vey worn and very very uncomfortable
Rude staff
The young girl on reception was pleasant
When you arrive you think it looks nice. Then you go inside and they tell you, oh no, there’s no rooms in here. You have to check into the building at the back. The building at the back smells as soon as you enter. Receptionist was pleasant, provided room keys and sent us along to our rooms. We had 2 rooms. First room - the smell as soon as the door was opened just hit you. The bedding was dirty and the room was very dated. We decided to check the second room. Smell not as bad when we opened the door but the room was dated and dirty. The carpet was dirty and the beds were dirty, the bathroom was dirty. Looking inside the pillow case the pillow was yellow and stained. The mattress felt damp and upon further inspection it I noticed it was an old premier inn mattress that was being used which was now yellow and stained. There were dead flies on the ceiling. The bathroom was very dated, grubby with mould on the tiles. To be honest it was so bad we gathered our bags and left, arranging accommodation elsewhere. I would not recommend.
It was very clean, good location.
Booked room for two people, didn’t have the coffee and tea facilities for two people. Bathroom very outdated.
Location
Cleanliness, fan caked in dust. Bathroom door didnt close. Didn't feel comfortable. Pillows stained, curtain off the rail.. Degraded silicone in bathroom, marks on walls. I know the property is for sale but no excuse for the above.
The location to friends and amenities
The shower curtain fell down. The cold tap wasn't working properly. The bath filled up as I was taking a shower. The light over the bed, wall side wasn't working.
Good location and close to motorway for a quick overnight stop
Room was boiling, very noisy due to location. Room had a smell to it
Patika cena un atrašanās vieta, ka arī personāla attieksme.
Diemžēl daudz kas ir mainījies pēc pēdējā apmeklējuma. Tīrības ziņā, ka arī numuriņā slikti darbojas santehnika vannas istabā

The room was a very good size and the shower was good even though it was an over the bath style it was good and powerful. The evening waitress was very welcoming and had a very pleasant manner. The breakfast waitress was very helpful in trying to solve the issue we had.
Checking in wasn't very easy as no one arrived when I rang the bell and I had to phone. The bedroom and bathroom weren't very clean. There was something on the bathroom floor which may have been poo, or hopefully was mud (except it's been too dry for there to be any mud around) but I didn't want to look too closely when I cleared it up. We didn't realise that our bed would be changed the following morning otherwise we would have asked the room to be left. When the towels were changed no bath mat was left. The rooms were not cleaned particularly well, instead some grease/cleaning fluid (?) of some description was left on an envelope I had left on the desk which I was going to post later. Worse still, my white cotton dressing gown was scooped up in the laundry washing. Although the mistake was understandable it was very stressful trying to get it back and at no point was any apology made. As soon as I realised the problem I called the number on the desk in the room, as no one answered I left a message. In the end I spoke to the breakfast waitress who was very proactive in speaking to housekeeping. Once the dressing gown was found I was told that it would be left in our room, however, there was further to-ing and fro-ing as the garment didn't appear. There was no one on Reception and eventually the housekeeper herself returned the gown just before we checked out. All this palaver added to our generally disappointing stay.
Location and friendly staff
Not enough sockets in bedroom and one socket didn’t work so we had to choose between using the fan or charging devices .
Great location, staff were OK. It is a budget stay.
Bathroom had stains around bath etc, dripping shower, only one bath/shower towel for 2 people. Also there was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom. Sockets by bed is a normal expectation these days - normally with USB A and C. Might be better to charge a bit more and upgrade the rooms IMO
location was good for our needs
room was too small for a family room, it was far to hot, couldn't open the window fully, bathroom was very dated
Convenient location
Very tired looking, soap dispenser empty, poor bathroom, including door didn’t shut.
Its location
The bed was hard one of the plug sockets could be used as it was broken
Bed good
Pillows old and need replacing, hotel. needs a refurb. Steps into reception lose, unsafe.
The bed was clean. The shower worked. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and a pretty good standard.
The whole place is just run down and tatty. The room was dated and tatty everywhere. The bathroom was grotty. The shower felt like it would just pull off the wall. The sealant had black mould all around. My mates said same about their bathrooms. One said the floor was dangerous as there was a soft hole in it where the floor underneath was rotting. I had no soap at all in my dispensers in the bathroom. I asked for them to be refilled and they weren’t during my two night stay.
Le personnel.
La photo extérieure du lieu ne reflète pas la réalité car les chambres sont situées dans un bâtiment à l'arrière, bâtiment qui ne donne pas envie d'y dormir.
Cheap clean and affordable
No fan in room
Location and bus stop right outside. Good breakfast.
Dirty and run down. Also short on staff.
Location to M6
Mattress was a little soft
Staff were very friendly and it was a very quiet location
Staining on the bedding and in the bath. Noise from people getting back late on Saturday. Also, I couldn't see signs to get to the actual hotel when I got there and ended up in the pub itself.
The staff were very friendly.
The used sanitary towel in our bathroom bin. No plug for the sink. No remote for the TV so it was impossible to switch channels or adjust volume. The leaking bath tap.
Location
The rooms need updating... Which don't bother me, but the cleanliness of my room this time was very poor
It was comfortable and friendly
Nothing
The staff were amazing amd went out of there way to help us even giving uo there own desk fans as we didnt have any in our room they were literally the loveliest people on earth they didnt need to give up there own comfort to help us but they did the girl who checked us in and the girl who was the night porter where amazing couldn't speaking more highly of them. The restaurant was also great we liked thay we could chose if we had the buffet breakfast or something from the menu we also had dinner in the restaurant both times the food was great.
Even with the fans the room was like a furnace and we all struggled to sleep at one pint around midnight then again around 3am we contemplated just driving the 4 hours home so we could at least get some sleep. The rooms were clean a bit outdated but clean. They could do with installing air-conditioning or fans in every room and changing the shower curtains to shower screens so it a bit more hygienic and installing new plug sockets as we found the plug sockets got very hot very fast my husbands an electrician and he said we were very lucky the sockets didnt burst into flames as they are in dire need of being rewired and replaced we did try to speak to reception in the morning but couldn't dind any one even after ringing the bell and waiting a while.
Good location close to M6 Reception staff helpful and friendly. Good breakfast.
Room very dated and tired looking, could write a list of problens, dripping taps, hairdryer not working, only one set of towels even though booked for 2 people, etc, etc. Unfortunately felt like a hotel being run down. Room was like a sauna, not to be recommend in a heatwave. Fan totally inadequate and restricted window opening led to a very uncomfortable night.
The staff were lovely both in cleaning bedrooms and in restaurant.....generally themount cud do with an overall change...rooms very dated I had awful problem with shower in room 10 had to move to room 4...as I said the staff were very easant just the whole hotel ifelt needed upgrading...it's 2026 now.
The outdated rooms like 30 years ago needs updating
Very comfortable
Nothing all good
Clean and comfortable
We didn’t not like
Nice quiet rooms away from traffic and the rest of the pub. Reasonably comfortable sleep
The rooms are quite dated and need a complete update. The taps on the sink were dodgy and took a little bit of messing to turn them off also the toilet was very hard to flush and took many attempts to get it to flush successfully
Was close to the stag pub
Rooms like a sauna zero comfort
Nothing
The room was dirty, unhoovered and in very poor repair. Cracked tiles and rust and cupboards that were down to the chipboard
Coming home to Billinge
Musty smell from one of the stair wells leading down to room 24
Very handy location for a stop on the M6 Great breakfast
the 2 rooms were a long way apart and one was rather noisy.
Location is great for travelling - just off of the motorway which is what we were looking for. Access easy for any directions you are travelling. Easy to find (park at the back if you are staying in the hotel as there is then cctv for the cars). Staff were nice, helpful and friendly.
Corridor hadn't seen a clean in a while, not sure if bedroom had either, but the bedding was clean and fresh. Room "ok", but compared to our trip south, not a patch on the "elite" hotel we used then and it was a cheaper. Place really in need of a freshen up - patch-work fixes, chip in the bath, cold tap was a constant trickle and wouldn't turn on to full. Never used the shower/bath as decided to just wait until I got back home.
Great location just off M6. The one member of staff we did have contact with was helpful and did his best.
The hotel is very dated with poor standards of cleanliness. Walls are dirty with cobwebs. Bathroom is very tatty and poorly maintained. Everything is below any kind quality including the toilet roll! The was £57 for the night, but in our opinion not worth it.
Chelsea on the front deck was very good , helped us understand the area .
I like a bar of soap , liquid soap in the shower/bath is not east to get out of the bottle
I thought the staff in bar and restaurant were totally unprofessional, I had to walk from one bar to another to ask for a drink and 3 staff were sitting at a table talking.,another time the young man who was working totally ignored me at the bar and walked to the other bar to talk to someone.
Everything
The weather
Convenient location, plenty of parking.
Upon arrival I was ushered to the rear of the property to park away from pub punters. Was not told to check in at the rear, so after a gruelling journey had to stand waiting for the bar/reception to see me…. The pathways behind the pub were dangerously slippery. Breakfast room had high energy pop music pumping out, at volume… when I asked why I got “it’s fed in from head office, we can’t choose the music”!!! Well turn it off then…? Don’t touch the fruit, it’s been sitting there for months. Then again, what do I expect from Greene snot King…
Staff, restaurant and location
Rust around taps, dirty bedclothes initially
Didn't have breakfast Location ok
Dripping water tap all night No bath towels
Good location. Excellent breakfast.
Staff were very helpful
Admittedly the hottest day of the year so far but the room couodn't cope. The fan provided was inadequate
Comfortable bed. Good location in terms of our onward journey.
Room was extremely hot. A fan was provided but had very little wind blow from it as the blades were bent. Very noisy traffic outside with the window open which was needed because of the heat. The room was very very hot - almost as if the hotel heating was on. Bathroom was extremely dated with mould and not overly clean. Walls were dirty. Needs a total refurb. We booked with breakfast included which is served from 7am. The Mount website states served from 7am. Booking.com states served from 7am. The receptionist on arrival advised it is served from 7am. The following morning there was no sign of breakfast and numerous guests waiting. We were told we all got it wrong and it is from 8am. Couldn't wait as we needed to be somewhere. Staff member was very disinterested. No reason given for not opening breakfast on time.
The staff were lovely. Professional and hardworking. Hot spell, fans in rooms.
Overbearing noise from the motorway throughout. I think we were put in the noisiest rooms. I'm sure there were others facing away from the motorway with some noise absorber by the building. Or lower down and muffled by landscaping. I cut my foot on a shard of glass which had been overlooked. My son's shower didn't work.
I'm visiting my past life, it feels I'm home. It is ok value for money.
It's sort of clean, but it needs a refurbishment though it is no worse than when I started going regularly in 2019.
Love the mount normally, stayed here loads,
They changed the hours for breakfast which meant we couldn’t have the breakfast we paid for
Breakfast was good , service good
Maybe needs a little upgrading,
Breakfast was good and value was excellent.
Traffic noise from the M6.
