Amazing food at the restaurant.
Personale squisito, ottima colazione.
Forse migliorabile la pulizia.
A very special thank you to Stacey, Rob and the young lady who served us our breakfast. They were all so engaging. We could see how hard they all work. Very warm and genuine people.
Amazing customer service and very dog friendly.
Very convenient location
Nothing really
Comfortable good location good breakfast clean and comfortable room
I just loved the antiquity and history of the building
Nothing
Wonderful staff. Great historical building in fantastic location. Fan in my room. Breakfast. Parking.
No cold water from my shower. Unclean towel left hanging in my room.
Quirky and clean
Parking is an issue
The hotel is situated on a quiet one-way street opposite the church. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable - the building itself is old with winding corridors and stairs. We didn't eat in the restaurant but did have a drink in the cosy bar.
There is limited parking at the hotel but we were able to park in the street.
Staff were very good and the best part of this hotel.
Room 6 is a very small room I could touch the 2 walls, no room to swing a cat. Even the staff call it pathetic as a room, no door on bathroom, when on loo you look at the door into the room. No space for your suitcase, very small wardrobe and table already filled with fan and teamaking supplies. Also the kettle is a small travel one that is permanently fixed to plus, so you have to unplug it everything to fil up which just takes enough for 2 small cups. Very disappointing room and I had to put up with it for a week. Owner more interested in her garden then guests.
As a lover of history, I found the place fascinating. The location is great as it’s near to my family, who I was visiting. The bed was extremely comfortable! Bit of a mark on the carpet, but other than that, the room was spotless and the en suite was pristine. Beautifully cooked Full English breakfast, plus the usual cereals and loads of ‘continental’ choices. The lovely staff could not have been better. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved it all and will definitely stay there again.
Nothing to complain about (except mark on the carpet), but worth mentioning that anyone less mobile, would not of managed the ancient, twisty staircase (which I loved re. history).
Full of character. Staff friendly and helpful.
Full of character. Close to M5 for travelling. Staff friendly. Food good. Room comfortable with tea/coffee in room. Bridgwater disappointing.
Had lots of character and excellent service
L'atmosphère vieille Angleterre. La suite est top.
Dinner good. Breakfast absolutely average. No fruit or yoghurt. Bacon over cooked and kept hanging around

Lovely old-style building with a lovely courtyard garden area to sit and enjoy a drink & a snack. Welcoming greeting, using my name and genuine questions about my stay.
Nothing It was fab!
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It was a big plus that they are dog-friendly, which made the experience even better. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, well-kept, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Outstanding staff
People and food -outstanding. Although room was very old and small the Bathroom was immaculately clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Ancient room meant bed was at an awful angle so very little sleep first night. Bought own pillows and used the hotel pillows to try to level mattress so allowing a bit better sleep on second night. Management informed and bed levelling wouldn’t be difficult.
Lovely historic building. Best thing about the whole stay was the smashing key staff: the front of house manager, the chef, the breakfast staff. And I didnt meet whoever refreshed our room but thanks for the dog bowls! All above lovely and absolutely accommodating. Nothing too much trouble.
Food was far from bad but it was ok. The roasts were great (including roast veggie nut roast which was really nice) but breakfast was a bit limited.
La cucina era ottima
Aparte kamer
Traditional pub, lovely gardens and ideal for a stop over or short break. When they say dog friendly they mean dog friendly, with all the essential in the room and a sausage for breakfast. The gardens are fab with carousel seating and a wood burner. Highly recommend.
No complaints, it’s an old building and this needs to be a consideration when testing but the positives far out weight the negatives.
Greet location for town and friendly staff.
On such a hot day it was unfortunate that there was no air conditioning - a fan was provided in the room which was appreciated.
The deco was great candy was a great hostess free parking spot lovely breakfast
Nothing
It was in a quiet street off the town centre and had off road parking

Friendly staff, good breakfast, happy to store bikes
Friendly and quirky
Parking
The old world charm . The quirky rooms . Great restaurant. Lovely gardens
Nothing negative to say
Very nice hotel, friendly staff and good food, very close to town centre and shops.
No issues
Relaxed and friendly. Food good and service excellent. The garden was lovely and the restaurant was bright and clean.
The carpet in the bedroom was stained and could do with replacing.
Very cosy and comfortable beds Good breakfast Friendly staff
Parking is difficult Very noisy at night, rough area
Breakfast was good as was the evening meal. Staff helpful and friendly
Previous occupants towels left hanging on the door. Shower door fell off its runner. Dehumidifier in the room. Ground floor room lacks privacy.
Friendly staff, garden, location, food nice.
No complaints.
Easy check in, friendly staff. Bed was fine and breakfast good enough. Not a big choice. Shower was good
Stairs up to room very steep. A fair amount of street noise on a Saturday night. Parking was very tight. They ask you to back in for a reason. Little step up between bedroom and bathroom was easy to catch a foot on
Lovely staff, great food, very comfortable rooms
Breakfast could have started earlier!
Breakfast was good, Our dog got her sausage first, which she loved. Location of hotel was great for easy access to the town and for getting out to the surrounding areas
Bit more choice on the breakfast menue
Location, breakfast, positive friendly staff.
Breakfast was lovely, service was excellent and provided exactly what we wanted. The property could do with some tlc but is a lovely setting. The staff team were absolutely wonderful and the evening meal was delicious.
The lock on the door was broken when we arrived but staff managed to fix it. A garden umbrella launched in the wind and landed on us - need securing.
Nice old building
Dated and small room which was very hot and airless. Dinner not available due to staff issues
Shower was great. Plug sockets close to bed. Water provided.
Full English breakfast was a little disappointing.
an ancient building, with a lovely courtyard garden
Stayed in room 5 it was fantastic. .
Very nice comfortable room with a quirky fireplace in the bathroom! Pleasant and attentive staff. Very good all round enjoyable experience
Cooked breakfast could've been a bit better, so was a bit disappointed with that, as was the coffee and tea facilities in the room.
Comfy room, friendly staff and historic hotel. Handy little extras in the room such as iron and hairdryer.
Noisy toilet.
Lovely old buildings with traditional character
Our ‘loft’ room was very hot due to days of hot sun. I accept this is a likely event when there is a heat wave. Possible improvement might be to ensure all windows can be opened. As this is a roof level 2nd floor room security is less of an issue.
Superb Breakfast! Very clean and spacious room. Friendly staff who allowed us to use their car park past our booking time which was really nice of them. Lovely beer garden and rustic pub. Highly recommended for stay.
Great friendly staff, good location, lovely clean room
Nothing, everything was perfect
Amazing little Gem with Fantastic host and staff. Food was Amazing. We had the château Briand and it was done to perfection.
Leaving
The quaintness as it is a very old building; also has a very nice garden to enjoy a drink or your evening meal. Staff very friendly and sociable.
The entrance to car park, very tight, bumped new car. Saw small sign ( should be bigger )which advised reversing in when to late range already done. Bedroom quite small but comfortable.
L’accueil
Private parking for motorcycle. Friendly staff. Great breakfast
Friendly staff
Shower was realy poor. Couldnt adjust it and it didnt drain. Lighting in room was quite poor
Excellent service Clean and tidy but dated Excellent food.
Rooms small and tired looking
Great breakfast with baked goods a bonus. Took extra for my long bike ride ahead 😊
Nothing really. The room was lovely and there was a safe place for my bike. I was too late for dinner or would gladly have eaten there
Warm friendly welcome, couldn't do more to help. Comfy and spacious room. Pleasant convenient location
Leaving!
Friendly, welcoming staff , lovely breakfast , great location
Breakfast was really good, bedroom very clean, shower very good.
The room we had was a bit small, it was so hot when we arrived, curtain l thought would have bern drawn, as the sun was right on rhe window, the fan was good, we had it on throughout the night, as it was so hot, iif we come again, we would like to gave a bigger room. When we had dinner, we were sat right by the door, which everyone used, and everytime someone went out or came in it was banging, and so windy, my hair was going everywhere, so l would loved to gave moved to the table fir two which was just behind us, but thought it was going to be occupied, but it never was, but dinner was lovely would
Friendly and welcoming staff, Great room, very comfortable. We survived room 5! - Wasn't aware of the paranormal history in the building before the stay, unfortunately we didn't experience anything unusual.
Quite noisy at night from outside, nothing the hotel can do about that though. The room could do with the bathroom and main room light switches being on separate panels, more than once the main bedroom light was switched on when the bathroom was used during the night.
Very friendly staff. Nice restaurant. Clean Lovely breakfast
No fan in room and no bar fridge
It’s very quirky. Lovely single room upstairs. Staff are all amazing! The dinner and breakfast are exceptional.
Nothing!
Had a wonderful time, room was beautiful the breakfast was lovely and the homemade muffins and cranberry loaf was beautiful!! I will be re booking again!!
Nothing it was perfect!
Characterful property
Entrance to car park
Friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast
We had dinner & breakfast during our stop-over and food was very well prepared and presented. The room was amazing! Very much in keeping with building and its history.
All good.
Quirky and welcoming, Staff very pleasant
Didn’t dislike anything about the hotel, however some drunken unsavoury people occupying the cemetery opposite
Lovely hotel and excellent staff
We loved this hotel The staff were wonderful and really looked after you The food was lovely. It had an ambiance about it you felt at home while you were there. We'll definitely visit again🌹🌹
The fact that we couldn't stay any longer lol
The room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The restaurant was excellent and I would highly recommend and the breakfast was also very good.
Lovely old hotel

Old world charm with modern day comfort

Located centrally. Interesting but adequate parking. Bed was comfortable and room quite large. Love the floor being at a jaunty angle! Garden handy for overnight trips with the dog. Breakfast was lovely (the dog loved getting a sausage just for him🐶) and so was the evening meal we had with our family.
Nearby street drinkers were noisy overnight.
Central location and easy to find. Staff working there were nice and helpful.
Our room was very tired and had definitely seen better days. Breakfast was half hearted. The buffet was tiny…there was the option for various cooked breakfasts but all a little mediocre. Overall not great value for money.
Everything!

Clean, fresh, excellent and friendly service. All staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. A beautiful garden where you can sit and enjoy time with friends or family. A varied and tasty breakfast breakfast. I shall use the Old Vicarage Hotel again
Oh so comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff, delicious meals cooked to perfection
Grade 2 listed building..so quirky Proprietors and staff very friendly and accommodating. Excellent evening meal and breakfast
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the ground floor with access through the garden or bar and the bedroom/ensuite were a very good size and well appointed. The lounge and bar area were very comfortable with armchairs and sofas. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent (NB. we had the Sunday roast in the evening but ate at the end of serving time and they had run out of cauliflower cheese(my favourite). We jokingly complained to the waitress after which the chef came out laughing, apologised and said we'd get extra sausage in the morning, which we did!!) I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone stopping in this area.
No cauliflower cheese 😂
