The Get Away

Location

No internet access therefore unable to connect to WIFI for work or unable to watch anything on the television (also doesn’t have satellite) so unable to watch normal television paid £100 for the night to have no internet access. This was the same in a different room the first time I stayed I thought It would be a one off but not the case.

Nothing to be honestl with you the decor was nice that’s it your hotel is used for sex workers I walked passed one of your rooms and saw the whole lot someone having sex and I Evan bumped into one of the sex workers and she said yes she works from this property

Shower was good. Bed was good. Easy to get into the room.

Kettle unable to reach table from plug socket so had to submit on the floor. Fan broken. Very minor issues which didn’t really affect the stay.

Beds were uncomfortable. The toilet you have to press the flush 3 to 4 times to get it to flush. The room was very warm

How fast! They got back to us with the availability of the room. The fact that it was for a family there was four of us two adults, two kids. It was absolutely perfect.

The room was boiling hot. We couldn't open the windows and despite several requests, we didnt get offered a fan. The toilet didnt flush, the light was broken and the bed mattress had several stains in it.

The shower was okay.

The room was dirty and dated. Marks all over walls and carpets. Previous guests shampoo and conditioner packets left on top of shower head. The bed was uncomfortable. Can’t open windows unless you want your room filled with the smell of weed coming in from outside (at any time of day or night). There’s no staff in the hotel (key box access). Absolutely not worth £123 per night.

The building is very noisy in general you can hear people coming in through the night etc doors opening closing Although it didn’t bother us and also not the properties fault but the lady beneath us knocked out door twice between 6/7pm about the noise of us walking around with 2 children and threatened to call the police.

The room exceeded my expectations and was functional but spotlessly clean. It was great value for money and I will recommend to friends.

Parking was not available but I did find parking nearby.

We have returned for last 3 years but the family room needs a lick of paint, carpets need cleaning as there were stains on floor and walls, room was run down compared to the previous visits. Sadly will not return.

We couldn't sleep the whole night because the floors above were creaking and sounds came from the rooms above us.

This was booked as a hotel however there was no staff on premises, we had to let ourselves in using codes to access room keys. The property is really tatty, one room at the front was really hot and had a double and single bed and hardly any room around. The other room's window was blocked by black out blind to hide and dingy back yard with bright light that stayed on all night. The smell as you walk in the "hotel" was disgusting, as if the carpet hasn't been changed for 50 years and they keep using strong smelly product to cover up the dirt. Carpets in the bedrooms felt sticky. The decor was cheap, every item of furniture looked like bottom of the range, nothing like the photos presented on the Booking.com website which suggested a sleek contemporary hotel. It really wasn't worth the price paid (£377 to 2 rooms 2 nights with Genuis discount).

It didn’t look like pictures. Room was dirty. The pillows were as flat as a pancake. The room smelt like cat piss! You can hear everything as the walls are so thin. We even had to leave the property at midnight and drive 2hours home due to the people upstairs having an argument and sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling! You pay £11 for parking but nowhere to park. This is by far the worst holiday I’ve seen and I would never recommend this shithole to anyone!

The room was dirty, I was bitten by insects from the bed while sleeping, my leg and foot are swollen and itchy, the carpet was dirty, the bed was uncomfortable and the floor boards above were very noisy

It is advertised as an hotel based in actually in airbnb the building with multiple rooms rented separately no reception they don't answer the phone it's all through messages

The small room and bathroom was clean, there are no staff. Entrance is by key code and by another key safe code to the room. You get what you pay for and I was satisfied with that.

Noisy - people playing loud music. Can hear tellys/talking/people moving through the walls. Pictures nothing like the room. Stained carpet. Chipped paint on the walls. Door handle hanging off. Self check in, so don’t see any staff. Definitely should not be sold to families with children, like student accom

Pokój był bardzo blisko z innymi pokojami strasznie klaustrofobiczne pomieszczenia,nie czułam się zbyt komfortowo,łóżko bardzo skrzypiało więc zero swobody. Bardziej jak dom że współlokatorami niż hotel.

Room 1 had a really funny smell. I noticed aswell that the tiles in bathroom had water under them, which could have been the cause of the smell.

The tv didnt work i did contact the owner but no response The tvwas also hanging away from the wall x The bed was comfy but the pillows where as flat as anything Also I think a matt should be provided for the bathroom due to floor being very slippery when wet, I know there are signs but still thats not gunna stop you slipping.

Sadly the room was rather stuffy. We could not work the heat control for radiators. It was hot weather, but to have had the towel rail heated would be nice. I meant to report that the sink plug needed a washer.

It was a cheap room but evidently having now stayed there I understand why it was so cheap.

Firstly the decor - holes and damage to the walls. Urgently needs repairs and a re-paint. Toilet seat was broken. The fixed shower head was clearly fitted with short people in mind. At 6ft 8 ins tall I had to stoop and duck to have a shower. The room had one window with a blind that overlooked some kind of lower floor access. The blind didnt cover the window fully and there was an external light in the courtyard that was left on all night which meant there was light coming in around the side of the blind. As someone who likes a dark room to sleep in this was particularly irritating. Then there was the noise from adjacent rooms of people talking, using the bathroom etc. late at night (after 23.30 and early at 06.00)

The heat !! On the coldest night in months it was unbearable , only had a broken fan with no guard to cool the room , which it didn’t

Location was very close to the main seafront and attractions. Bathroom was modern and clean. Good supply of tea and coffee. Free Wi-Fi was very fast and reliable.

No car parking directly at the hotel - however was a car park 2 minutes walk away (£15 for overnight - 24 hours). On arrival no receptionist to check in or ask questions, was given a code for door entry and also for the key safe next to the room door. View from the room was onto a back street. Room temperature was uncomfortable (no A/C) and the small portable fan was very noisy so couldn't leave on overnight. Only 2 small packets of shower gel.

the property was in the wrong location and was not very good signage and the parking was too near regent road .so will not be going to be using it ever again .

The location

It was dirty very hot and the bed was very uncomfortable there was blood on the bathroom tiles absolutely no staff around. The kettle was so dirty and caked in limescale. Very disappointed

Disgusting view from the room. Lack of facilities. Lack of info on the parking. Lamp in room did not work. Uncomfy bed & bad quality well used bedding. I know it was cheap but honestly could be better.

Large room

Location is terrible and feels unsafe. It is not a hotel, has no bar as advertised in non holiday months. You have a key code to enter the main door then lockbox outside the room. Noisy people in rooms and smells like people smoke certain substances. It was truly terrible. It had an ironing board but no iron... Pictures make it look a lot better than it is, don't be fooled like I was!

Its location in relation to the pubs and shop. We had stayed here the previous year and some of the issues we found this year were unresolved from last year.

- [x] Regarding room 5: The shower tray overflowed resulting in a dangerously slippery floor. The bottom of the bathroom doorframe was rotten causing the room to have an unpleasant odour. The room was very humid and the bathroom extractor did not work. Upon arrival the room had a smell of cigarettes and we were advised that the rooms were non smoking. When we were packing away on our final day, we found a Milkshake container with cigarette butts extinguished in the bottom of it. This would have been left by a previous occupant and missed by the cleaner (it was hidden in the bottom drawer of the cabinet). The room had spillages and stains on the walls. The lights failed on our final day which prevented us being able to use the shower. I messaged the manager three times regarding this and did not receive a reply. If I ever get a response I’ll be asking for a refund!

We stayed in two rooms both were very clean and tidy only one room got a strange smell which we didn't like

The toilet didn't flush which is a major issue and the room was way too hot. I know it was a hot day but the room felt like a sauna and i had to prop the front door open and wedge my room door open for an hour to get some air into it as the window only opened a few inches. I did try to call and left a message about these issues but heard nothing back.

Great location, good sized room for the four of us, very clean. Lovely shower.

Maybe needed an extra towel for the the floor as it's quite slippery when wet and the shower screen doesn't stop water from spilling out of the shower.

Location Clean Great value for money

The location was good; it was only a few minutes' walk away from the beachfront and access to plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops.

You get given a code to access the front door and your room upon your arrival. When you get inside, you get told to head downstairs to check in at the bar area that doesn't exist, and because there is no reception/nobody present, it can be confusing for some people. We managed to find a housekeeper who could not speak a word of English, and that was the only person we found while we were there. The room was okay, but the toilet was leaking and soaked through all our towels, and you can't ask for any more because there is nobody there so we had a flooded bathroom during our stay, we tried to ring the helpline but no answer and unanswered texts so we assume we was ignored… It can get loud at night, and the bed/floors creak a lot. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it.

Bathroom was exceptional with a power shower.
