SQ Thao Dien

The staff have always been so welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stays. This was the second time we have stayed here. The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot for your money. The rooms, reception area and lift areas are spotlessly clean. The room's amenities are excellent. From the ample cooking and dining equipment, to the hot shower in the private bathroom, to the large balcony and large, comfortable bed, to the modern TV with Netflix, You Tube etc; this place makes for a great stay. The location is perfect. Situated in a quiet corner, but with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and other shops all within a short walking distance, the area is ideal for a quiet and relaxing stay. The international airport is only 30 minutes away in a taxi. Once again, a huge thank you to the amazing staff here, for giving us another memorable stay. We really appreciate your efforts. We will definitely be back here in the future.

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The facilities were all as described and a huge bonus to enjoy. We would definitely recommend this place.

This place was fantastic. Super comfortable, clean, friendly staff, and we enjoyed having our own little apartment in a great location. Highly recommend if you want a residential experience in a fun neighborhood! Easy to walk to anything you’d need.

Es war ein sehr gut ausgestattetes Appartement, in dem ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt habe. Pool und Terrasse auf dem Dach waren ebenfalls hervorragend. Die Umgebung hat mir auch gut gefallen. Alles etwas ruhiger und gemütlicher als im District 1. der sich aber mit der Metro oder Grab auch sehr gut erreichen lässt.

It was very central and we had a good view of the neighbourhood. Lovely pool on the roof with great views. Good gym.

No mugs or cups with handles for coffee/tea. Very limited range of plates/cutlery for two people, not enough.

It was very comfortable and convenient with a 10 min to the MRT station that took us into the city. Bed super comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly.

There was quite a bit of noise from the street outside and also the surrounding rooms.

Quiet escape from the busy city, we found it hard to leave this place and will go back for a second stay. Thao Dien is also brilliant for walking around without a plan, you will find coffee shops, spas, great food Viet food and western food. Also want to say thanks to the reception girls Ms Giang and Ms Linh who were brilliant during our stay, always smile, always say hello and always reached out on WhatsApp to make sure everything was ok with the stay.

there was a receptionist, it was easy, i just checked in as normal, the place was clean, new, nicely decorated. as this was a mini apartment it cost me a little more, it was £50 with the discount. but i was exceptionally please just to have a nice clean place with a gym etc (though i didnt end up checking that out) as i'd been trying to get into somewhere else that said they had that and the experience was diabolical. this place meets the standard you would expect for the price

the only thing that would have been a nice touch would be if there were some teabags or coffee in the room but just go outside and you are in close proximity to all that stuff which is what you would usually do if you lived there

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. It was spotlessly clean and the entire staff was incredibly friendly, polite, and always willing to help. The hotel is easy to find and boasts a great location with a wonderfully quiet atmosphere surrounding it. Highly recommend!

Excellent room and staff, gym and pool area also very very nice. I wasn’t a fan of HCM until we stayed in the Thao Dien district, this stay has completely changed my perspective. Highly recommend!

Construction works on the street are a little loud but they appear to be finished soon, no complaints with hotel itself.

It has all the modern amenities in a clean and relaxing homely environment. The bed was super comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay another night when I come back to HCMC in May.

It seems a little far away from the shops but I wasn't here long enough really to know better.

The staff were excellent, so nice and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble I lost my phone in a taxi while there and the staff were so helpful to help me trace the taxi and find the phone. The reception had a Whatsapp link so you could keep in touch with the reception. It felt more like a hotel than a serviced apartment

Very comfortable room and well-stocked

The apartment is amply spacious, could do with a few more cups and plates (but they brought us what we needed) and cleaned thoroughly every day. Nice little gym and rooftop pool with great views across the city skyline. Thao Dien has changed so much in the last 7 years since we lived there - I’d recommend it as a much better alternative to staying in HCMC itself. It’s a 60000VND taxi to the sites, but you can experience a vast range of night life and boutique shopping in walking distance.

For Vietnam, this is very high standard. The location is ideal, close to all the modern delights of district 2, and still on a very quiet back street. The staff is above what you can expect in Vietnam. They provide what you need and the “nice to have” things you will have to work for. But they were nice about everything, and the room cleaning was exceptional (best across 15 locations we stayed in Vietnam). The gym is great. The pool is great. My only complains is that SOMEONE should sneak out one night and murder the neighbor dog that barks at night 😂.

Though the location is a little bit far from the city central, the location is nice, there nearby reastaurants and convinience stores. Easy to get a grabcar.

Road is under construction. Unit is not sound proof you can hear the vehicles passingby since it's facing the road.

The 1 bedroomed appartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped including a washing machine. Anything missing was provided by the very helpful staff. Good front desk with 24/7 service and security. Quiet area but close to restaurants and bars and a taxi ride from the city centre. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for budget accommodation.

Nothing. The road outside is unmade because there is a lot of building work going on nearby but that did not bother us at all.

Each room has its own air-conditioning and we took advantage of the gym and pool (open 5am-10pm). The in-unit washer/dryer is convenient but you have to ask them for the detergent liquid multiple times. The place is nice and the location has yummy local shops. It is just unfortunate that experience is tarnished by multiple unaccomodating experiences on top of another. It could have been a great 4-star stay but that was not the case. We will not be returning.

I booked this place for my family of 14 through booking.com. I booked 2 2-BR and 1 3-BR. They text me through whatsapp saying they did not have the 3-BR I booked and offered a king bed in the living room in another 2-BR free of charge. When we arrived to check in after a late flight, they said it would be a 3% charge for using card. That should have been mentioned in our conversation on whatsapp. We had to get the entire payment in cash the next day. Reception desk is not available in the late evening but this is somewhat typical in vietnam. There is a guard to open the door then. You will need to ask the reception desk multiple times for any items that you run out of and sometimes they still won't bring the items. They would not always have extra towels so we would have to wash our own towels. We had to go out and buy our own toilet paper as well. This place is in District 2 but charges District 1 and 3 prices. We were charged 150k for broken cup (ON THE CUP it had a tag for 29k so HUGE upcharge), 300k for small towel that was ruined?, and 500k for large towel that changed color. Prices much higher than the cost of the items. Just know they will be looking to charge you for any and everything. There is currently ongoing construction which obstructs some rodeways. So there is only one road to walk if you want to walk locally to businesses/shops which has muddy water (the construction and local businesses pour out their dirty water every evening). The hotel gives out free plastic bags for your shoes but it diminishes the local experience to walk through. It will make you drag in mud to your room if they run out of bags as well.

Everything was excellent

The house is very well located with many amenities, e.g. restaurants, supermarkets, nearby. It's in a generally quiet street. The staff were very attentive and everything is brand new. The bed was very comfortable.

Unfortunately for us there was a big construction site nearby (October 2024) and there was absolutely constant drilling and digging from early morning until evening which was very stressful. We had to wear earplugs all the time. The room also is not what it looks like on the picture. Hence, the picture shows a warm and colourful interior. However, the interior is rather black & white, this not feeling very cozy.

We really love the hotel. Absolutely beautiful, modern hotel set in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, with stunning views of the city. The staff were so helpful and attentive. We would love to recommend to everyone.

I’ve been looking for a place to live and the place is nice but it’s honestly the staff that have made me feel so welcome reception/security/cleaners. That s why I want to stay long term there

For a furnished apartment ,very sparse amenities. Kettle to boil water,but no mugs to make a cuppa, hair dryer,but no plug to use near a mirror. Pool,but had to beg for towels,everyday on a 7 day stay. You would have struggled to cook anything,but rice cooker provided. An iron,no ironing board. Also can be isolated after a sotorm for hours at a time,only one way in to building.

Clean and a new hotel. I like the big bottle of water just the machine is a little bit noisy and disturbing when I was sleeping.

No restaurant and coffee. TV only the language of Vietnam. No instruction book.

Needed more things in the kitchen to make it better and more efficient. Needs glasses, mugs, wine glasses, bottle opener, tea towels, teaspoons, dishwashing soap and laundry detergent.

Good location, clean and new building, loved the rooftop pool and terrace. Each apartment is great for a stay where you need it to feel more comfortable. Plenty of storage and cupboard space. Having a washing machine was a nice addition. Staff were friendly and helpful. Female security guard was great and even helped carry shopping to the apartment.

New build so perhaps all the finishing touches aren't complete yet. Kitchen definitely needed more things. Only two glasses? No mugs, wine glasses, bottle opener, tea spoons. There was no dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent or tea towels to dry your dishes. Just those little things would have made the stay better. When housekeeping clean the room they turn off the air conditioner, so after a hot and sweaty day out, you come back to a very, hot room.

Good location from which to explore district 2. Good restaurants nearby. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff.
