It feels like being part of a family. One of the funniest hostel i’ve stayed at.

Nicest welcome to the island imaginable! Hospitality is incredible! Everyone rents bikes from here and surf lessons. It’s a great location in General Luna and often everyone chips in for dinner to eat together. Made great friends. Bathroom could be cleaner. Had an incredible sleep.

The volonteer who worked here was very nice, friendly and welcoming. The location is very convenient as it is quiet but closed from the main road with all the restaurants and bars.

It was dirty, especially with heavy rains because the drains were leaking.

The owners here are absolutely incredible. Came in as a solo traveller and left with an extended family. Welcomed from the moment I arrived.

Mattress is thin. Okay for a couple nights but if you have issue with your back won’t be good for you.

I love how the owners (young couple) accommodate its guests. They treat you like a family in here. Previous guests would come back to visit and hangout even if they're not there to stay. So I met alot of people even if they're not staying there. Also you can use the kitchen for free.! Perfect for solo travelers who love to meet new people from around the world!

On a face value, the place is a very simple little house which describes an actual life here in the Philippines, well on an average family but you wouldn't even consider looking into its face value as the family ambiance that'll get here is something you'll be coming back for. Most guests even when not checked in here are coming back as they always long for the friendship, family and camaraderie being built in this little tiny house. Kudos Alegreya!

The people there are extremely friendly and I was even invited to join them for a dinner party for someone's birthday. There were power outlets/sockets by my bed. There are large lockers available. Free drinking water was provided. The location was perfect, very close to the main street but on a quiet side street where there wasn't any noise at night. There is a great and very cheap restaurant next door. Very social atmosphere. Wifi worked well. If you're looking for a homestay feeling of really being in someone's home, this place is for you.

The bathroom, kitchen, and common area were sometimes quite messy and cluttered. Bathroom didn't feel like the cleanest. People would leave so many clothes thrown about everywhere in the bathroom, I even had to push them aside to be able to flush the toilet. The dorm is very basic and small and you have zero privacy as there are no curtains on the beds and the room is so small everyone is right next to you. Also because of the very social atmosphere, people talk to you nonstop so if you need some privacy and alone time to rest you won't have it here (this can be good or bad depending on how extroverted/introverted you are). I'm a girl and they put me in a dorm with three males and no other women, even though there were girls in the other dorm. Lastly, there was an underage teenage boy sleeping in the dorm with the guests which made me quite uncomfortable as I don't think minors should be sleeping in a room with random adults.

There are many hostels in Siargao, but Alegreya is the only one that feels like home. As soon as you set foot inside, they welcome you like family. Clean rooms, beds, towels, toilet. You can also cook if you want to, free coffee, wifi connection is good. I got sick on my 2nd to the last night and Nette (owner) took care of me and gave me meds. 🥹

The owners were very accommodating to me. Haha i kept extending my stay and they made sure that there was space for me! The location is right off the main busy road so the sleeps are good. Prime location

Rooms are a little small - but who cares!

Net and her family are super friendly and helpful and this was a lovely home-like feeling. Facilities are basic but the family are working on improving their home stay as they started from scratch. Sleeping was a little difficult as the mattresses are quite thin and the fans stopped in the night with power cuts but this was out of their control.

The place is like a home. Best hosts you'll ever find. The whole vibe is just immaculate - old guests would stop by all day long, just to hang. Wish I stayed for longer - each day was a gift. And Larry's food is awesome. Miss you<3

Pretty much got ignored on entry to the hostel Mattresses were so thin you could feel the wood underneath Bathroom was so dirty Mould in the room Owner wasn’t very friendly opened the door to the room without knocking whilst I was naked and she didn’t care

The most welcoming place in the Philippines. As soon as you get in there you truly feel like you are part of a family. The food is great and cheap too. I stayed two nights and wish I could've stayed more.

This place is a home away from home! Can't recommend it enough. The owners are so friendly, kind and helpful people. Larry is a great cook who loves to make food for the whole group. The size of the homestay is small, but that makes it even better. The whole place chilled together and past guests came by, which felt like family a bit. The facilities are basic but with everything you need and always clean. Thank you so much for this amazing stay guys!

a very central hostel with literally the best owners which made the stay so much better than in any other hostel. the rooms are quite hot, they just have fans and it’s overall a very simple hostel. but if you’re fine with that and on a budget, you will have an amazing experinxe. I have only positive things to say about this place. Net, Larry et Raffy made us feel like home : sharing meals, chatting, laughing, going on adventures and going out. There’s something special about this place, the vibe is family-like. They helped us renting the scooters and they offer surf lessons. I would totally stay there again and I would recommend it to anyone. We made good memories for ever, thank you again for having us and see you soon ❤️

Stunning spot! Wifi on point and fast! Great location! The host of the HOMEstay is the most beautiful lady! She makes the stay through and through. It’s not yet a cafe as just in the beginning stages. We cooked there and they sorted us everything from bikes to surfing. Amazing hospitality and great price

Just need comfier beds and maybe aircon. The lounge needs a couch or something more comfy to hang out in but that’ll come with time I’m sure
