Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Tidy property with modern kitchen and bathroom. TV has all the usual connections and the heat pump in the lounge is powerful. Shower is one of the best we’ve experienced. Bathroom was fully stocked, there was a courtesy container of milk in the fridge and a nice selection of teas and coffees. Location is quiet but central, with quick access to the CBD and University. Hosts were flexible with arrival and live nearby, with notices about property that they can drop by if there are issues (or you want to use the BBQ)
There is no heating in the bedrooms and bathrooms, but the lounge heatpump can heat the bedrooms if doors are left open.

On the morning of our departure, the owner (who lives next door) was there on the stroke of 11am to start cleaning while we were just finishing tidying up and getting our car packed. He didn't introduce himself or ask how our stay was (we had to ask if he was Nick), which left a slightly sour note as we felt he just wanted us out at that point.

Some heating in the main bedroom would be beneficial, and perhaps also a newer tv.

Reviewed Mar 2, 2026Easy to find. A feeling of welcome as we came in the door. Very tasteful and classy decor and also very comfortable. 2 handbasins in bathroom and walk-in shower. Large tv in lounge. The house is warm and inviting. Comfortable beds and pillows. Wished our stay was for longer than one night. Our host was very helpful with advice on restaurants.
Driveway entry very narrow with concrete blocks either side. A makeup/shaving mirror in bathroom at a reasonable height for the short-sighted and vertically challenged guests would be an idea. Also a grab rail in the shower would be helpful. The shower is wonderful.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The property which has been renovated to a very high standard was situated in a lovely quiet cul-de-sac handy to amenities. The king size beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were top notch. This property really deserves the title "a home away from home" Highly recommended.
One improvement that could be of value would be a curtain or blind over the glass front door to stop night light spill into the bedrooms. The narrow driveway entrance can be a challenge.

We loved listening to the tūī, and were delighted to spot some pīwakawaka as well. The beds were incredibly comfortable — honestly the best sleep we’ve ever had! Thank you for such a lovely stay 🤓

Reviewed Oct 21, 2025The house has been completely renovated inside so is very modern and clean. The beds are very comfortable however the pillows are hard to sleep on as they don’t mould to your head very well. The bathroom has two sinks and a beautiful walk-in shower. The kitchen has all the modern facilities and it even has a washing machine. The location is excellent and the street is very quiet. We will stay again next time we are in Palmerston North.

There wasn't anything I didn't like however although there was seats to accommodate all four it would have been nice if the lounge suite was a 4 seater not a 3. And more selection on Google TV that don't require you to buy a subscription just to watch it.

Instruction sheet on table and manuals in a drawer for appliances. Wonderfully equipped kitchen. Herbal tea options and thoughtful gestures of biscuits and chocolate treats plus limes and milk. Amazing bathroom. Comfortable bed. Option of 2nd bedroom if needed. Change of linen as we stayed a while, along with extra biscuits and chocolate treats - unexpected, so kind. Encouraging feedback from owners after we left.
We considered suggesting we return with a water blaster and offer to paint the concrete wall in the back garden in exchange for some free accommodation! When the wonderfully warm duvet is too hot, an extra thin blanket would be useful. We had brought 2 spare ones and used the blanket in the spare room as well. We bought a tin opener and left it there for other guests who may need one.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2025We liked how homely it felt, perfect size as a family of four adults. The location was exceptional for everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely recommend this place for others.
Normally, we're not too fussed about having an internet connection when we are traveling, but this time round, we were traveling for medical reasons, so we knew we'd be spending alot of the time at the place with nothing else to do. We had trouble connecting with the wifi the first night we arrived. It was late, so we just left it to the following morning and got in contact with the host. He was very prompt and got it sorted for us, which we appreciated alot, however the wifi did continue to drop out of connection a few times throughout our stay and wouldn't reconnect. We felt this aspect was the only thing that let this place down. Otherwise, it was a 10/10 experience otherwise and would stay again.

Would of liked either electric blankets or some more blankets, especially for the older generation who get cold at night. Also instructions for heat pump would be great.
