The location was excellent and the main feature was parking which in my experience of visiting the area previously can be difficult so that was such a positive. My daughter and I only stayed one night, the room was very basic but the bed was comfortable but the road noise meant that it was difficult to sleep. It would have been helpful for some water in the room. A main negative for us was no tv in the room and I don’t think it would be great for children staying without a tv. I didn’t really see many staff but the person I did see did enquired if everything was ok. I think if there was some investment in upgrading the rooms but with maintaining the vintage style this would be really positive. I would definitely stay again and probably will in the new year as the location is excellent and the parking facilities takes away the stress of finding parking if travelling by car. Thank you

Well, the pub is situated in a lovely spot by the river Thames. Plenty of places to park, parking is a premium in Richmond. It is a nice old cosy pub and restaurant.

Great walks around the area although it's very hilly and you have to be fit and able bodied! Unfortunately the kitchen was out of commission so no dinner that evening and only continental breakfast! The double bed was more of a large single really. Could not get much fresh air in the room, windows locked and the room was very warm without AC but with a small table fan.

Proximity to River and Town. Bedding and Towels were well laundered and the room was clean. Lots of PowerPoints.

The beds need updating as the frames were rickety and the mattresses were lumpy and unsupportive and the bathroom was in disrepair with broken door handles, flaking ceiling and some very small evidence of mould on the sealant. There is no TV in the room and I imagine in the height of the summer the room would have been really hot and airless as there was no fan and limited ventilation.

A very cosy hotel with pub food and drink available. Lovely room and very comfortable bed.

L’indirizzo in Booking è errato e non porta all’hotel per cui l’autista di Uber si è lamentato perché ha dovuto percorrere più strada di quanto pattuito. All’arrivo alle 9PM la camera non era pronta perché si erano persi la prenotazione. Per avere servita la colazione all’inglese abbiamo atteso 45 minuti. Quando alla sera verso le 9PM siamo tornati in camera il letto non era stato fatto. Un solo comodino anche se ci sarebbe il posto per un secondo. Nessuna presa vicino al letto Sul comodino un ventilatore pieno di polvere Non c’è un piano dove appoggiare le borse salvo il solito cavalletto Non si sa dove dove appendere le giacche.

A wonderfully cosy and characterful place, with charming rooms above a traditional English pub. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming and friendly, the food is excellent, and the setting, with the meadows and the Thames just nearby, is absolutely lovely. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully equipped, with very comfortable beds, crisp cotton bed linen, a fridge for keeping drinks cool and, naturally, everything you need to make a proper cup of tea. There is a genuine warmth and charm to the Rose of York that is increasingly hard to find. Traditional English hospitality at its very best – relaxed, friendly and full of character. A lovely place to stay and one we would be very happy to return to.

Location was amazing we booked specifically to go and watch the sunrise and sunset in Richmond park but needed to be near enough to walk to the park. Ana is a gem and needs to be appricated , she single handly brought our over all stay up to good. The fridge in the bedroom during the hot weather made all the difference!!

There was a wake going on the day we arrived the area was not cordoned off and there was initally only one clearly very new waitress on the bar. Ana jumped in and saved the day! Food and drink was limited - I was unable to par take of the mocktail speical as the gent on the bar on the Saturday said they were out of ingridents , he also to be honest looked like he would rather be else where. In this day and age diary alternatives were not on offer I had to ask for them. Lack of plug points.

Excellent location in a great pub on the edge of Richmond Park and Petersham, so perfect . Ample parking. Decent breakfast. Helpful staff.

Room a little noisy with occasional road noise, some air traffic disturbances, and noisy pipes at night.

The hotel is in a perfect location. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and always happy to help. Its perfect if you want to be in London but out of the chaos. Situated just off the Thames you can walk in to Richmond along the river side. Its so picturesque. This is my second time staying here, and will definitely stay again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The chef who prepared breakfast was well informed about my intolerance and was accomodating to my needs. Very well kept and clean.

The showerhead holder was loose and i couldn't set it properly. The kitchen closes early on Sunday and that information wasn't very clearly communicated. No shops in walking distance

The traffic sound being right next to the road - the tradeoff to having easy and direct walk to town

Beautiful establishment in great peaceful location. The bonus is the staff. Ana and the bar man went out of their way to make my stay great.

A bigger bathroom, a room away from the road( busy). A room inside the main building. The evening meal was not good quality and therefore not value for money, we ate elsewhere after the first night.

Beautiful location with old fashioned charm. Clean room and comfortable beds. Friendly staff and freshly prepared cooked breakfast. Mini bar with complimentary water. Free parking on site with bus route or short walk to town centre.

The internet connection was so poor that it barely existed. The closest restaurant was 15 minutes walk from the hotel and there were no supermarket nearby. The beds were not comfortable.

Bedienungen waren unfähig, überfordert und nicht ausreichend ausgebildet für ihre Tätigkeiten. Die Zimmer waren nicht klimatisiert und extrem überhitzt ohne eine Möglichkeit ausreichend zu lüften. Das Zimmer war heruntergekommen und auch nicht ausreichend gesäubert. An jedem Tag unseres Aufenthalts mussten wir mehrfach darum bitten Handtücher oder frische Bettwäsche zu bekommen, da das ansonsten nicht passiert wäre.

Clean, quite spacious, fridge in room, two bottles of water left for us every day, meals available at reasonable price - had ours in pleasnt courtyard.

Bed not firm enough for me but that's personal choice.

Great location, easy to walk into Richmond and to the station. Easy access to Richmond Park and the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. Tea/coffee and water (fridge) available which was great (and biscuits too!).

Room a little bit dated but functional. Beds were not that comfortable so maybe time for a mattress upgrade.

Lovely staff member but very poorly and suffering with severe sore throat...not sure why he couldn't be relieved and allowed to go home. Didn't want his germs.

今回はこの施設の２回目の滞在です。希望通りの眺めの良い部屋をかなえてくれました。冷蔵庫と扇風機、日本人の私にとってはバスタブがあるのもとてもよかったです。 基本的にはメンテナンスが行き届き、清潔です。

荷物が多かったので、エレベーターがあれば完璧でした。スタッフの方が快く荷物を運んでくださいましたが、暑かったので申し訳なかったです。 ラジエーターのほこりが少し気になりました。

The negative aspect of staying at this hotel was receiving a parking fine from Group Nexus a week after my stay, despite registering my car registration upon booking and also checking that parking was okay with the hotel receptionist. The parking fine company doesn't seem to fully sync with the hotel's information. There is a tablet in the bar to input registration numbers, however the staff reassured me that I didn't need to input my details on the tablet as they already had my details. Be sure to use that tablet to avoid receiving a fine.

good location to explore Richmond

as four of us in one room it would have been useful if the double bed could have been one which could split into two singles Breakfast was a bit pricey

Excellent location for catching the bus to Kew Gardens or walking along the Thames into town. The staff were lovely and the food nice. The car parking is free also.

Teatime staff were poor in terms of ‘welcome’, check in and general nonchalance in dealing with us on arrival. It wasn’t made clear at time of booking or upon arrival that the room was up a substantial flight of outdoor stairs, which was a huge challenge for family member with torn knee ligament. The family room windows had extreme/overkill safety catches and double glazing made it unnecessarily hot. Just no airflow in the room whatsoever, even when we kept the entrance door propped open and tried opening the hallway windows. Extract fan in bathroom did not work either so both the bedroom and bathroom were like a sauna. Staff response v weak when asked to pls try and assist by finding key to unlatch safety catches, so no improvement or assistance. Extremely uncomfortable and a poor nights sleep all round.

Beautiful, traditional corner room at a lovely pub, overlooking the meadows & Thames at Petersham. We booked for my husband’s birthday & all the staff, from booking to our actual stay, couldn’t have been kinder & more helpful. Fabulous value for our 2 night stay, particularly when you consider that we had free parking for 3 days & we could easily walk into Richmond along the river. Ate at the pub & they had very tasty food - and large portions!

Everything was perfect, although they were not able to facilitate the early check-in that we needed due to the time we arrived they went out of their way to make sure everything that was in their power was done to make our stay easy and enjoyable.

The price of breakfast was excessive, so we chose not to eat there.

It is in a great area, I felt like I was living in the country, yet still on the tube line!

It was very dated with poor facilities. No chair or desk in the room, no TV fridge was placed on the floor, several bulbs not working making the room very dull. At 6am moving beer barrels around directly o/s bedroom windows.

Rose of York was a short walk away from Richmond Town centre. It is opposite the open meadow with the canal running through. We spent a couple of hours walking around the meadow and down the canal. The room was lovely but didnt have a TV which would have been handy to know when booking. It didnt bother us as we had plans but if we had a spare hour in our room we has no music/TV to watch/listen to. The breakfast was lovely and all the staff were very professional, warm and welcoming!

Pretty good, but could have done with more choice for a quite expensive breakfast. Evening meal better value & well cooked. Bottled water & biscuits in the room appreciated. Excellent beer in the bar!

Soap dispenser in the room was fitted 6 ft high up from the floor so wasn't usable by kids and even difficult for petite adults. Curtains couldn't be closed fully on edges so wasn't ideal for privacy and to keep light out. Fruits were not provided as part of breakfast.
