Great location! Beautiful historic building. Front desk staff was great.

The breakfast was chaotic and had a bit of a cafeteria feel. The breakfast staff seemed stressed and not particularly friendly

Shower and bath. Bath too deep almost could not get out. Shower set too far back so difficult to get ones hair washed without slipping. Nothing to stop you slipping in the bath.

Lage, Lage, Lage. Direkt an der Kathedrale. Ansonsten gibt es alles was man von einem 5*Hotel erwartet. Das Restaurant ist auch sehr gut.

Meu quarto 202 tinha vista central para a praça e catedral, excepcional para comemorarmos 40° aniversário de casamento! O hotel pela localização já seria divino, mas tb tem a história de ter sido hospital antigamente para os peregrinos. Quarto e banheiro espaçoso com armários e 2 suportes para malas. Cafeteira expresso no quarto, água grande de cortesia, chinelos, roupões e amenities variados que incluem até esponja de banho e escova de cabelo. Café da manhã sensacional, começando pelo suco de laranja natural, com churros, arroz com leite, queijos e embutidos da região e muitos pratos quentes feitos na hora. Restaurante Enxebre simples, mas cumpre seu papel para quando o restaurante dos Reis está lotado e esse sim divino (não teve pianista nos 3 dias da minha estadia), cafeteria e bar muito cômodo ter algo até 1h da madrugada aberto e com ótimos pratos rápidos com atendimento gentil.

Único inconveniente é não ter ducha higiênica, mas não tira o brilho da estadia!

For my first four nights, I stayed at a simple hotel that was perfect but decided to splash out the last two nights at the Parador. Intensely special and beautiful in its historical nature. I loved the location, my room, wandering the hotels courtyards, and the breakfasts.

en general todo, desde la recepcion hasta las instalaciones y lo que más es que pudimos hacr el check in antes y eso fue muy comodo porque veniamos del camino.

En el bar de la plata de abajo fuimos a tomar un vino y pedir un par de postres. En primer lugar el camarero nos preguntó si teniamos reserva, habiendo espacio de sobra puesto que el bar estaba vacio. Le dijimos que no y nos puso mala cara y preguntó ¿Estais alojados? Al decirle que si, se dio la vuelta y al rato volvió y nos ubicó. Al decirle que queriamos dos vinos y un par de postres nos lo negó, nos dijo que si no pediamos cena no podian servir postres porque si no su jefe les reñia. La verdad me pareció muy mal y creo que no es de recibo.

La ubicación, el personal sobre todo los señores que te reciben al salir del coche con mucha amabilidad.

It was a present for my sister. She was delated with the attention, size of room and breakfast.

If you are able to, the Parador is an absolute must to stay in Santiago. The location, the staff and the facilities are second to none. It was our second stay and hope to return in the future.

Ci sono hotel bellissimi e poi ci sono luoghi capaci di diventare parte del viaggio. Il Parador de Santiago appartiene alla seconda categoria. Ho soggiornato qui la notte in cui ho concluso il Cammino di Santiago e credo sia difficile immaginare un luogo più emozionante dove terminare questa esperienza. La posizione è semplicemente straordinaria: si è direttamente sulla Praza do Obradoiro, davanti alla Cattedrale. La mia camera aveva una finestra affacciata sulla piazza e poter osservare da lì la Cattedrale, dopo averla raggiunta a piedi poche ore prima, è stato un momento che difficilmente dimenticherò. Ma ciò che rende questo Parador davvero unico è la sua storia. Non si ha la sensazione di soggiornare in un hotel che occupa un edificio antico: si percepisce continuamente di essere dentro un luogo che ha attraversato secoli di storia e che appartiene profondamente alla tradizione del pellegrinaggio a Santiago. Chiostri, pietra, corridoi, dettagli architettonici e ambienti monumentali conservano un fascino straordinario. Tutto contribuisce a creare un’atmosfera che nessun hotel contemporaneo, per quanto lussuoso, potrebbe semplicemente riprodurre. Il servizio è all’altezza del luogo: professionale, attento e discreto. Non lo sceglierei soltanto per dormire a Santiago. Lo sceglierei perché è Santiago. Per chi conclude il Cammino, in particolare, trascorrere qui almeno una notte significa aggiungere un ultimo capitolo all’esperienza del pellegrinaggio. Indimenticabile

The Parador is the place to stay in Santiago. We received exceptional service there. We had booked a 10 day bike ride with a tour company, ending with the Parador. We chose to extend our stay and booked at the Parador on our own. The hotel staff linked our reservations making our stay seamless. The breakfasts were delicious with a wide variety of foods available. It’s a gorgeous hotel with a rich history.

El trato de el personal en general

El colchón de la cama un auténtico infierno. Que tu agitación aviste y oiga durante las horas del medio día y tarde una celebración privada es inadmisible para alguien que busca paz, tranquilidad y comodidad. Lo siento no tiene perdón, busquen otra forma de hacer eventos, ejemplo, alojar allí a los huéspedes de dicho evento. Lo dicho, dan ganas de poner una reclamación.

Historisches Hotel genau an unserem Ankunftsort vom Jakobsweg. Das beste Hotel in Santiago und eben ein Paradore. Exzellentes Frühstück.

Nicht so gut isoliert wenn man ständig einen Dudelsackspieler nicht weit entfernt stehen hast und zahlreiche Touristen am Fenster entlang schlendern.

Tutto! A Santiago de Compostela, un Parador a fianco alla Cattedrale. Un palazzo immenso, pieno di opere d'arte. Andate per credere. Perché noi in Italia non abbiamo i Paradores - palazzi d'epoca gestiti dallo Stato a prezzi assolutamente ragionevoli il vero lusso accessibile - come in Spagna. 250 euro per una doppia a Ferragosto!!!

Staff were very attentive and helpful. The location is excellent for visiting the old town and cathedral areas.

A nespresso type coffee machine in the room would be better than the cheap instant offering. In every other hotel we stayed in during our trip, complimentary drinking water was provided every day, but not in this hotel, only on the first day. In my opinion the location makes this a 5 Star hotel, but it just lacks the final touches to make it so, I would rate it a 4 Star hotel.

Beautiful historic building with many cloisters. Really lovely service in the courtyard bar. Breakfast was decent with a large variety of options. Helpful staff at reception. Concierge. Rooms and bathrooms were of a decent size and clean.

We had never heard of this city before or the existence of the Parador, the oldest hotel in Spain now 500 years old. We came for a wedding, but thank God our eyes were opened to this city full of treasures. The location is exceptional. Being right on the town square makes it an unforgettable experience. To be able to see the many pilgrims/hikers for the Camino complete their destination right in front of you is special. These ladies in the reception area were fantastic- Silvia, Lara, Blonde woman and young lady with braces and brown hair pulled back were all so helpful and welcoming. The porters were all exceptional. The woman who runs the breakfast is amazing! She tried her best to get us a window seat where you look down upon the square. The breakfast room is beautiful and so warm and welcoming. We were extremely happy with our room. Every night you’ll find a spontaneous concert with cheering and dancing on the town square along with the constant sound of the bagpipes. You’ll never have a bad meal, but Don Quioxte is special and ask for Ricardo. We will be back to visit this iconic place.

The staff should communicate better the car situation. We got a rental car and were led to believe we could park it at the hotel for 24 Euros per day. When we arrived with our car, they had no room in the garage. It turned out not to be too much of a problem. We found public parking close by for 11 Euros per day, which worked out.

De kamer rook muf, de badkamervloer inclusief de douche is super glad. Er was al iemand gevallen op haar hoofd. En werkelijk alle lampjes hangen scheef. Dat maakt allemaal niet echt uit maar voor die prijs verwacht je alles perfect. Oh ja en bij het ontbijt krijg je alleen ei als je een Plato gast bent.

De historiek van het hotel maakt het, zoals meestal bij de Paradors, een unieke ervaring. Het is als overnachten in een museum. Even een wandeling maken door het hotel is zeker de moeite.

Location is superb. The building is astonishing.

This is a lovely hotel in a perfect location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast was excellent but it was not good we had to queue to get into the breakfast room. The building itself is spectacular and so historic and the rooms are lovely and large.

We were not sent any directions how to get to the hotel and our Sat. nav. took us to a dead end where we could not reach the hotel - people need to be sent good information of how to get to this hotel as it is not easy with the street system in this city! Also I had called the hotel before we arrived to ask about parking and they told me it would not be a problem to use their car park, but when we arrived their car park was all ready full and we had to drive to a public car park to park our vehicle - not very convenient at all! The other issues we had was no coffee or tea making facilities in our room, terrible BBC World News reception on our television which meant we could not watch it at all! and having to queue for breakfast even though we arrived at exactly the time we had booked to have breakfast! This is a a very lovely hotel but we read on the internet that they claim it is the best hotel in Europe - but certainly it is not the best hotel in Europe, we have stayed in better hotels than this, for example the Manor House hotel at Castle Combe in Wiltshire in the U.K. which is absolutely fantastic in every way. But having said this we would still recommend people to stay at this Parador hotel in Santiago as it is a very beautiful hotel and a lovely experience to stay there.

The hotel is beautiful and in an amazing location right on the Raza do Obradoiro, directly beside the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. The staff were extremely helpful and the rooms very comfortable with plenty of space.

We had to book for breakfast so we took the last slot but the staff were already clearing away most of the food and services within 20 mins of our arrival.
