Die Tuin Hekkie In Riebeek-West

We wanted to get away from the city life without having to drive too far and this location was perfect for us. These days pet friendly is more important than wheelchair accessibility for me but this place has both ... we could sleep with the sliding door open without having to worry about our furry baby wandering off!

We wanted to book again for our anniversary in February but the pool is very inaccessible for someone like me who's in a wheelchair and the month of February is the hottest time of the year so I would rather go somewhere where I can enjoy the pool as well, unfortunately.

Very friendly host. Property is easy to access and even though you are on the same property as the host, you do feel like you are totally alone. They even have electric blankets on the bed for the extra cool nights. The host even made a booklet mentioning all the restaurants in the town with all their details regarding style of cuisine and trading hours. This made it very easy to decide where to go.

Very pleasant lil cottage with beautiful birds chirping away in the garden. Very well kitted out with everything you need. The host was also a highlight, very friendly and helpful. Will make this my go to stop for Riebeek.

Everything. Pure bliss. All the creature comforts were there. Whenever I thought of something and looked for it, it was there. Leo's (the owner) brother, Ridge received us, took us to the apartment, explained everything we needed to know. The little booklet about Riebeek-Wes was a welcome read and the self-compiled info brochure about the origin of the name "Tuinhekkie" also made for good reading. The privacy and the fact that the apartment is adjacent to main house contributed to the general feel-good feeling: private enough not to be in anyone's face or space. The Tuinhekkie is a hidden gem. There was also filtered water in the fridge, as well as milk. Tea, coffee (freshly ground and instant) were also at hand, sugar, as well as the diabetic sort, which came in handy, as my husband is diabetic. The Shower-to-Shower body wash - a massive bottle to boot- made for a restful sleep. We will have to stay a week, next time, so that I can finish all the titles of the books available. I started with "The tenth circle", by Jodie Picault, but the shower gel did its work and I just floated away.... and then there was the little carafe of sherry.... yea, I know I am waxing lyrical.... but the attention to detail is truly refreshing and out of this world.

Host Leo was most welcoming, friendly and informative. His local knowledge of the, area helped us a great deal. The venue was quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating.

Ruime accommodatie met mooie vogelrijke tuin met zwembad. De wasmachine en de mooie uittrekbare waslijnen buiten waren een pré. Op loopafstand van winkels en restaurantjes.

Er was een picknicktafel buiten. Een paar comfortabele stoelen erbij is aan te raden. Ook zou het fijn zijn om binnen de koffers op een standaard te kunnen plaatsen.

Room is neat, comfortable and secluded. The beautiful garden and chirping birds in the morning were a bonus.

Everything. The bed and couch are both amazing. The place is well built and extremely neat and clean. Everything is modern and looks amazing. Everything in the kitchen looks like it was bought and installed yesterday. The host is really nice and welcoming. Really willing to go the extra mile for guests. The wifi is great and there is a TV as well. The towels are cleaner than new ones. We had an amazing time here and regret that it was so short. I can't wait to go back.

Oh wow where do I begin, the Muskadel with two sherry glasses to enjoy in the most amazing garden filled with greens and trees and the cutest decorations and amazing bird life and a pool. A special sacred bird feeding station, like you won't believe. The cleanliness and choice between plunger or quality coffee, tea and milk with the luxury of all the appliances and fireplace. The most comfortable couch and bed and quality royalty linen and so many sweet memories with the finest details from towels with a chocolate bar, beautiful decor, inviting atmosphere, tranquil surroundings and so much more. Fully equipped and extra. Have you ever been to a place, and you get there, and feel so overwhelmed with peace and tranquility that you don't even want to go anywhere, you just want to be there, reboot, recharge savor the unforgettable once in a lifetime beauty and peace... I didn't want to leave An absolute must to switch off. The most pleasant host and surroundings. I recommend this place to anyone who needs a reset and recharge. The best ever. Loved it. Will go there, again and again. You won't regret it, trust me A must experience

I loved everything, nothing to NOT like!

Janine & Leo are wonderful hosts. Their accommodation is beyond words. Everything that one could generally think of or need is offered in their guest room. Spacious,. beautiful decorated with a great bathroom space. We were thrilled to have discovered this gem that is a real home away from home in Riebeck Kasteel. * It is also a wheel chair /frail friendly accommodation throughout.

Neat, spacious, comfortable and peaceful just what we needed. The attention to detail was amazing. Extra items provided, even cookies. Well equipped for sure! We visited for more than a week. The attention to detail and what was provided additionally was amazing. You can just rock up and enjoy your stay. No worries about packing in a little bottle of cooking oil and some salt sachets - Die Tuin Hekkie has got you covered.

A very nice place to stay for a coupel of days in Riebeek-West. Spacious and clean room. Excellent service from the host Leo who was very friendly and helpful. Lovely to be able to take a dip in the pool in the garden in the afternoon.

The accommodation was excellent. Aircon. Everything we needed. Beautiful.

No house number on website. No name of accommodation at property. Could not hold of host due to him being overseas. Luckily one of the neighbours helped us. Also note that the pool is at the main house and not at the Tuin Hekkie. No dog bowls - take your own. But this is positive criticism. Still loved everything.

Our host was very welcoming. Loved the treats of farm milk and biscuits. The pool was a welcome relief in the hot weather during our stay. The apartment is well equipped for everyday use.

The property was exactly what we were looking for. There was plenty of room inside and even a private patio overlooking the valley and mountains in the distance. We enjoyed that we had filter coffee with milk and homemade cookies! The kitchen is perfect for preparing meals. We opted for trying the restaurants and coffeeshops in town. Just ask Leo for advice, he will direct you to the best places.

Excellent hosts who welcome you like family and leave you home baked cookies but still give you your privacy. Leo was very communicative and helpful in letting us know about activities in the area. The accomodation far exceeded my expectations - it was spotlessly clean, super comfortable with all the small, convenient amenities and yet even had a generator for loadshedding.

A true countryside experience, waking up to the sound of birds and peace. It was absolutely gorgeous, the hosts are super friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Will definitely stay here again

From we got there we were received by the Hosts that were super friendly. Opened the unit and walked us through all the unit and showed us all the enmities. Very tranquil unit and peaceful. had some cute visitors as well lol.

We can highly recommend staying at Die Tuin Hekkie, we only stayed one night but could definitely have stayed for a week. Our host Leo and his wife are so welcoming and made us feel at home very quickly. It exceeded our expectations, and the photos does not do it any justice. It is a little oasis, quiet with so many birds in the garden and a pool, there is a lovely stoop and weber to braai, just too beautiful. The apartment is lovely and spacious and well appointed. The bathroom is beautiful and the shower great! The bed was very comfortable and there are power point that are easy accessible right next to the bed. The kitchenette has everything that you need; it is so self contained you need only bring your self and your personal belongings! It is safe and close to town and just felt like a piece of heaven. I am a travel consultant and have stayed at many many hotels, guest houses and lodges and this is truly a little gem from the price point to space and the hosts!!! You have to come and experience it for your self! We will return! Thank you very much Leo and J for your kindness and warmth!

Perfect for a weekend away exploring Riebeek. Very clean, neat, comfortable bed, and has all the facilities you need. Lovely owners.

The host Leo was warm, space was tranquil. We had all the kitchen essentials we needed and more. Very clean. It felt like home away from home. Definitely coming back!
